The property faces a freeway, which is not really clear from the pictures. It looks like it is in a street in town. Instead it is after a tunnel on the freeway and you can’t really walk anywhere comfortably from there. Moreover, we did not find real flexibility and hospitality. The property was vacant and we asked to check out half an hour later, they said no and also threatened that if we did not check out in time they would make us pay 10000 yen.

Reviewed Aug 20, 2026熊野方面の旅行で宿泊しました。 建物や設備には少し年季を感じますが、それ以上に魅力的なのは客室からの素晴らしい海の眺めです。 部屋から見える景色がとても美しく、時間を忘れてゆっくり過ごすことができました。ベッドも寝心地が良く、海を眺めながらのんびりしたい方におすすめの宿だと思います。 また、オーナーさんの対応がとても親切で温かかったです。 チェックアウトの際には、わざわざ道路まで出てきてくださり、車の誘導までしてくださいました。細やかな気遣いに感動しました。 夜に到着する場合は、入口が少し分かりにくいため、事前に場所を確認しておくと安心です。 大きなホテルにはない、家族経営の宿ならではの温かさを感じられる滞在でした。
また、今回宿泊した客室の浴槽については気になる点がありました。 浴槽は床面より低い位置に埋め込まれた深めの特殊なタイプで、肩まで温まれる点は良いと思いますが、出入りの際には少し力が必要です。手すりや踏み台などがないため、足腰に不安のある方には注意が必要だと思います。 さらに、浴槽内にはひび割れのように見える箇所があり、衛生面が少し気になったため、今回は浴槽の利用を控えました。今後改善されると、より安心して利用できると思います。

Reviewed Aug 11, 2026Veldig hyggelige verter som serverte oss en nydelig hjemmebakt ostekake ved ankomst. Rommene var store og koselige, og vertskapet var snille og sørget for at vi fikk parkeringsplass rett utenfor. Vil anbefale dette stedet til alle som trenger en stopover i Kumano. NB! Hvis du kommer med bil sørfra så kommer avkjøringen litt brått på rett etter tunnelen.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026Bij aanvang hielp de 1 van de eigenaren ons direct. Hij liet ons zien waar we moesten parkeren, nodigde ons uit aan tafel waar ook zijn vrouw aanwezig was om de check in te regelen. Ze vertelden direct wat de mooiste plekken zijn in de buurt en hielpen ons een plek te vinden om te kunnen eten. Ook gaf de vrouw een heerlijke eigengemaakte cheesecake. De meneer hielp ons met het tillen van de bagage naar onze kamer. De kamer zelf was mooi in een traditionele japanse stijl. Ook was het schoon met uiteraard een prachtig uitzicht. Er is voor de rokers twee rookruimtes aanwezig. Airco aanwezig en je kan de lichten aanpassen wat erg fijn was voor savonds.
Omdat het dorpje hoog in de bergen zit kan je last hebben van insecten in de kamer. Het bad was erg diep waardoor het een beetje lastig kan zijn om in en uit te stappen om te douchen. Er is savonds niet veel open, je zal wel echt met de auto moeten rijden om ergens te eten in de avond.

特になし 夕食はレンタサイクルで駅まで行きました。 ちょっとだけ頑張れる人なら楽しめる範囲です。

Reviewed May 28, 2026Carinissima struttura a gestione familiare con vista mare ed accoglienza 5 stelle (non solo per la torta! ahah) Le poche camere disponibili, pulite e silenziose, ti danno subito la sensazione di star condividendo un weekend al mare in famiglia. Parcheggio privato disponibile per chi viaggia in auto o consigliatissima sosta per chi cammina sul Kumano Kodo! Non abbiamo provato la colazione ma non avrei dubbi a consigliarla!
La vicinanza al bosco comporta il possibile avvistamento o presenza di animali ed insetti, come è naturale che sia, quindi lo riporto per chi è più sensibile a questo aspetto, altrimenti nessun altro punto da segnalare!

Reviewed May 25, 2026The hosts were just lovely. We arrived late, but were welcomed with a delicious lemon cake. Walking distance to restaurants and to a spectacular rock formation along the coast.
Our room was facing the mountains side, so half a meter outside our window was the pure rock. Needed some time to realize the light was controlled by a remote.

Reviewed May 20, 2026スタッフさんが大変親切でした。とても快適な2泊でした。宿泊にはゲストハウスを使うことが多いのですが、各ゲストハウスでなかなか聞けないことでも気軽に聞けて良かったです。 本当に自宅に帰ってきたような優しい雰囲気のお宿でした。熊野市に来た時にはまた泊まりたいと思いました。 チーズケーキは絶品でした！
今回は利用しませんでしたが、良くなかったと言うよりはこれから泊まる方に少し気をつけて…と言う所ですが、お部屋付きのお風呂が昭和レトロなので、雰囲気は懐かしいのですが段差かかなりあるので注意してください。（出来ればタイル敷の床とお風呂の乗り換えの段差をすのこ等で改善されてはと思うのですが、それでは洗面所が難しいか…）。 また、2泊目に泊まった『さくら』の間ですが、大きい窓に薄手のカーテンが欲しかったですね。

Reviewed May 7, 2026電車旅で利用。遅い時間のチェックインになってしまったのですが、オーナーさんの暖かい出迎い、周辺の観光地紹介やウェルカムケーキを頂けて、お部屋は古民家とは思えずに綺麗にリフォームされており、快適な宿泊時間となりました。また機会があれば利用したいです。
ロケーション的にコンビニなどと遠いので、急な買い物が必要な方は事前にルートを確認しておいたほうが良いです。

The bedroom was "blind"with a window on a wall. So artificial light all day in the room. The proximity of the 2 roads one national and one tunnel . The lack of a common place to read and to sit. All restaurants are quite far with dangerous roads to walk.

Os propósitos são maravilhosos e te recebem com delicioso bolo feito por eles. O café da manhã que escolhemos foi delicioso. É o local em que você quer voltar.

Nous étions là fin janvier et il faisait très froid dans la salle de bains et les toilettes de la chambre mais c'est normal car c'est un lieu ancien avec une âme. Si vous venez en hiver pensez à avoir des vêtements chauds.

Reviewed Feb 9, 2026I was picked up by car from the train station. I also got a cheesecake slice when I checked in. I was given a map with directions to nearby sightseeing spots which were helpful and worthwhile. And after the checkout i was allowed to stow my bagagge at the hotel even beyond the official checkout time and they brought it to the closest station upon my humble request! Super friendly family that runs the hotel. The rooms were modernized but at its core it is a traditional Japanese country house. 😊
There is no supermarket or Kombini really near, but that's also part of the charm of living in a rural area.

Reviewed Jan 16, 2026Such a beautiful place to stay! The family that runs it made me feel at home since the moment I stepped foot in the building! Their hospitality and humanity warmed my heart, from their care to explain to me everything, their disposition to be of help (the husband drove me twice to the train station), their attention to detail, her cooking (and her cheescake!!!). Although their broken english and my non-existent japanese could have been a problem, it was not. This is an exemple of how intention and empathy transcend the need of spoken communication! The room was traditional and spacious, the bed confortable, the view of the ocean breathtaking, and the baths on the bathtub healing. Everything was sublime and I will find myself missing this place for a while in the future. A little piece of heaven

Reviewed Jan 15, 2026Wonderful family dynamic makes up for any shortfalls in facilities. The family was so helpful and so positive that Kumano was possibly our favourite experience in Japan. They recommended an excellent little Teppanyaki restaurant in the village which we loved....and we got to walk the tunnel into town which was such fun. We felt our stay here was the most authentic Japanese experience we had....and I got to swim in the ocean!
The breakfast of French toast was a little too sweet for out taste but we ate it all! My partner really missed a mirror in our room.

Reviewed Dec 20, 2025Tout était très bien. L'accueil est très chaleureux, j'ai lu goûter un cheesecake fait maison. La chambre est spacieuse et bien équipée. Même si le bâtiment est plutôt vieux on s'y sent bien et les équipements sont modernes. De ma chambre au matin j'ai pu admirer le lever du soleil c'était superbe. Le personnel était vraiment très gentil et serviable.

Reviewed Dec 11, 2025Die Gastgeber Familie hat uns unglaublich freundlich empfangen. Es war wirklich einer der süßesten Interaktionen, die ich bisher mit Hotelbesitzern hatte. Nach der Ankunft wurde uns ein selbstgemachtes Stück Käsekuchen angeboten und vor der Abreise wurden wir gefragt, ob wir zum Bahnhof gefahren werden wollen. Das geht klar über den Service hinaus, den wir erwartet hatten. Eine klare 11/10 wenn man das geben könnte.

Reviewed Dec 8, 2025看上去是老板夫妻和儿子一起开的家庭旅馆； 老板娘亲手做的欢迎小蛋糕，非常美味； 老板一家的服务很好很热情，第二天早上退房，三位在门口反复鞠躬欢送，实在是太感动了！
台盆很低，给小孩子用确实合适，但大人的话，会比较累； 洗澡间比较陈旧了，可以考虑逐步更新下； 马桶不是智能的，这在日本多日来是头回碰到； Booking上写房间配有微波炉，其实是楼下公共区域的有微波炉可用，建议描述更清楚一些；

Reviewed Dec 4, 2025The room had a strange layout up steep stairs but the bed was comfortable. My hire car was parked under the hotel for free. The directions on booking.com did not work for me so I was a bit lost for a while but the hosts gave me some lovely homemade cheesecake to make up for it. Make sure you go to the amazing Onigajo Rock Formations very close to the hotel.
The hotel is located beside the coast road just as you come out of a tunnel heading north so I found it noisy until the traffic subsided for the night.
