Too warm without AC

Location was good, staff were very polite and helpful, breakfast was good. The bathroom was well equipped and clean. We had a meal in the restaurant one evening which was lovely and the fondue was very good. The service was excellent, the restaurant has the perfect Swiss mountain feel.

Unfortunately when we booked it, it said the room would have bunk beds. With two adult sized kids of different sexes, a sofa bed was not helpful as there is no way they’ll share a bed. This meant that my husband and myself had to use the sofa bed which was fairly uncomfortable. We were also told by the gentleman on reception that we would have views of the Eiger but the room was in fact on the side with no such views. There was only one fan and it was warm in the room. Luckily we were able to get another one which helped. The mini bar did not cool the drinks so we didn’t make full use of it being restocked every day. We did advise reception but this was not resolved.

The young man at the front desk upon our arrival on Monday, 9/7 was very helpful and friendly. Super nice! The breakfast was excellent! Enjoyed coffee and cake!

Would have enjoy an area, such as a lobby, without music playing to work and read outside of the room

In the heart of the city - close to train station. Barry’s restaurant and breakfasts were good. Junior suite was large with lots of storage and a nice tub and shower . The inside of the room itself was nice but location was beyond horrible!

I felt scammed by the reviews and photos of the junior suite with Eiger views. The rear of the balcony has you basically on top of an ugly white building with tons of windows and cars coming into a lot ( at night headlights shone into room) . To the right there is the gym/spa with an huge ladder up against a wall. ZERO privacy. Had to keep curtains closed at all times day and night or someone was close enough and could see you . The wooden flooring of balcony was so worn that I immediately got a splinter the first time that I stepped outside. I noticed spa robes and no slippers so we called front desk for slippers to avoid splinters and they had the audacity to charge us $5 a pair. Also the junior suites are in a separate building that requires tons of staircases or two elevators to get to it. Im sorry but I travel frequently and pride myself on getting beautiful rooms with a view and this fell beyond short of any expectations and reviews that I read . Please do not make the same mistake. Also depending on time of year that you go be aware ( I was) There is no pool or a/c. There was a fan in room which was great but if you open windows a ton of gnats come in. If I ever go back to Grindelwald I would stay somewhere else . So many other beautiful hotels that have unobstructed views of valley and mountains.

Awesome breakfast! Our room had a lot of space, the bed was good as well. The view is amazing! The reception guys helped me to surprise my husband in his birthday with a cake! The brazilian chef is very kind and helped us with some tips :)

Allem voran..das Team im Eiger Mountain ist der Wahnsinn ..so, so freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit! Einfach super! Das Frühstück ist richtig gut, das Restaurant Barry ebenfalls und auch hier durften wir einen tollen, warmherzigen Service genießen! Die Lage des Hotels in Grindelwald ist optimal um zu den jeweiligen Bahnen in der Region zu kommen, um von dort aus zu wandern und die Schweizer Bergwelt zu genießen! Ich hatte auch eine Massage während unseres Aufenthaltes und die war super! Wir sagen ganz herzlich Dankeschön und kommen bestimmt und sehr gerne wieder🤗

The room we had was king of old. Also, with no air conditioned, the temperature was unpleasantly high. We had no choice but to sleep with the windows opened - that meant noise, light and bugs coming in during the night.

숙소 1층에 레스토랑과 펍이 있어 밤 늦게까지 시끄럽고 조식을 1층에서 제공하는데 파리가 너무 많았습니다. 식사가 방해 될 정도 였고 직원들이 친절하지 않았습니다. 도착 한 날 그린델발트 축제로 밤12시까지 1층 펍에서 가수를 불러서 노래를 부르고 행사를 진행했습니다. 광장쪽에서 행사를 해야지 호텔 투숙객도 있는데 일방적으로 진행이 되어 새벽까지 잠을 자지 못했습니다. (밴드 음악이 너무 커서 창문을 닫아도 소리가 그대로 들어왔음) 화장실은 넓지만 바닥이 약간 미끄러워 신경이 쓰였고 3인이 숙박시 소파베드의 경우 완전히 평평하게 펴지지 않습니다. 침대가 편하지 않았습니다. 그린델발트 지역이 많이 상업화 되어서 조용하게 스위스의 풍경을 즐기고 쉬고 싶다면 추천하지 않습니다. 아이거 익스프레스를 이용하기에는 편리하지만 터미널역으로 한 정거장 이동해야 하는 단점이 있습니 다시 숙박한다면 조금 더 조용한 곳에서 숙소를 잡을 것 같습니다. (기차로 30분 안쪽으로 들어왔지만 인터라켄과 다른 점이 없는 것 같음)

Overpriced no value for money

Perfect location. Great room with lots of storage space/shelves/hanging racks. The kids loved the bunk beds. They even provided an extra fan upon request (we aren’t use to not having air conditioning)!!

Pleasantly surprised to be told at check in that mini fridge is complimentary and topped up everyday and that there’s afternoon tea/coffee and cakes everyday. It was something we looked forward to after an early start of activities and walking/hiking. The reception was lovely, so was the breakfast staff who was very helpful when my son was after those wafer cones and the lovely lady at the entrance with a ready smile. Loved the newsletter you get at breakfast. The spa and gym was nicely laid out, wish the spa was open in the morning without having to request.

The bathroom felt tight and just not enough room to move around, particularly the shower (luckily, I’m small. If a bigger person takes a shower, they will feel like they will slip due to the narrow bath. And the glass wall doesn’t swing out so it’s easier to prepare a bath.

The location is perfect as it’s in downtown Grindelwald. Near to everything.

I rarely review on my hotel stays and I have been around. I think my bed had bugs. I got a lot of bites lined up on my arms, legs, feet - not a regular mosquito bite. I raised this to reception and they told me it’s because it’s Summer so they won’t do anything about it. I didn’t experience it on our other hotels in Switzerland though. Reception and breakfast people are polite but the bar staff - a bit off. They said no to everything that reception offered about drinks and discount during check-in. Housekeeping is prompt and efficient. They don’t have AC but provided a fan that can be loud. They need to shampoo the room carpet as it looks a bit dirty to step on and maybe do a pest control for the bugs. Breakfast needs variety. We stayed for 4 nights and it’s the same choices everyday. For the amount we paid for our room, it’s a bit stiff.

The hotel is in the heart of Grindelwald, very easy to access by train or by car. The hotel provided a variety of pillow types to choose from. They also provided a strong fan that helped keep the room cool.

The bathtub height is very tall, which was difficult for my elderly mom to manage. Stepping in and out was hard for her. To get to the breakfast area and reception, you have to take some stairs to the lift. Customers should be aware of this if they are traveling with anyone who has a mobility impairment.

מיקום מצוין, בלב גרינדלוולד. צוות עובדים מקסים, כולם רוצים מאד לעזור מכל הלב, וניכר ששירותיות היא ערך עליון אצלם. מטפלי הספא מעולים ומקצועיים מאד גם כן. מה בכל זאת טעון שיפור: 1. חדרים לא ממוזגים וכשחם זה לא נוח 2. האמבטיה לא מתוחזקת מספיק עד לפרטים הקטנים - לא דואגים לשים חומר מונע החלקה (מסוכן!!), ומוט האמבטיה היה רופף והחליק למטה כל הזמן. 3. ארוחת הבוקר דלה ביחס לארוחות בוקר במלונות מהסוג הזה וברמת המחיר הגבוהה למדיי הזו. 4. מחירי המסעדה של המלון מופקעים בכל קנה מידה - גם של האזור עצמו.

The hotel is lovely, and breakfast was great! They catered for my vegan sister very well. The location is super convenient. Views are also lovely.

The only thing was the lack of air conditioning and it was quite hot at night there although they did provide us with a fan.

・部屋にクーラーが無く寝ている時に暑かった（7月中旬）。窓を開けると涼しいが、網戸がないため虫が入ってくる。 ・朝食会場である併設のレストランラウンジにハエが非常に多かった

Aircon not available which normally would not be a problem, but with temperatures of 30+ centigrade different story. Flies also a problem but they do their best to deal with them.

I liked the Room size as well as the view from the room. Although it does get hot in the morning itself, hardly anyone stays in the room after breakfast. Free Mini Bar :- Now that is a radical and most welcome idea. This will build loyalty for the Hotel from guests. Overall, the staff was friendly, although I had one very bitter experience that I will share later. They provided a free pickup from the station, but some guests were eligible, some not. Needs to be sorted out - Now, about the place itself: Grindelwald feels like a one-street village—or at least that was my impression. It has been blessed with breathtaking scenery, spectacular mountain views, and incredible natural beauty. Unfortunately, it is also overwhelmed by tourists from all over the world, and it seems the village doesn't quite know how to manage the situation. Of course, there are obvious economic incentives to welcome visitors who order a meal, drink six beers, vomit, and then start all over again. But when you actively cater to and favor that kind of tourism, you also invite the behavior that comes with it. That is not the soul of a traditional Swiss village. If the only goal is to satisfy every tourist's appetite for excess, why stop there? You might as well open a strip club and a gambling hall. At some point, preserving the character and identity of the village should matter more than maximizing tourist revenue.

- Racist Staff: I had a very bitter experience at breakfast where I was disrespected due to my race or skin colour. I had written a note to the staff itself (Attaching the note). I have already received a response from the owner/management of the hotel, and they have not contested the racist behaviour. So, I leave it to them to train the staff and sort it out. But I would not like to generalize it and say it applies to all staff. - Broken Breakfast service: The model adopted by the hotel to serve breakfast is broken. In all other hotels I went to, a staff member would greet me, show me a table to sit at based on my family size, and then give me info that I could order from the live kitchen(if available). Here, I see no one acknowledging any guest. It is up to the server to "discover" the guest, and if they miss the average time (20-25 mins), that means the guest was not served at all. I saw an Asian family just eat and leave, and no server ever came up to them! They have a live kitchen (that no server ever tells any guest), which is up to the discretion of the server to inform and then take the order. That is where discrimination comes in, and I smelled racist behaviour. You either inform and serve everyone, or you don't serve the live kitchen. One has to fill out a form to select live service. I saw a guest going up to the receptionist ( Ha Ha !!) since no server was coming to pick up his slip. Pathetic and Hilarious! Maybe this model is adopted by design due to cost ( I am not sure!!) Although there is one model they could adopt ( I call it the Smart Seagull model): You charge for live kitchen orders, and for favourite guests, you refund them on check out!! So no one can ever find out and complain (smart isn't it!!)

Extremely stuffy rooms. No air conditioning and no screens to let a breeze in. It has a fly and ant problem. Maids did not clean well and only made beds but did not give clean towels

Our rooms didn’t have very good views. The rooms in the back building are.nicer than the building on the street which are older. There were lots of flies in the restaurant during breakfast

The staff were so friendly, particularly Mely always engaged with our daughters and asked about their day or gave recommendations. The breakfast was incredibly well supplied and the free coffee and cake everyday was such a nice touch! It’s little things that make the stay enjoyable and Eiger Mountain and Soul Resort did it very well!

No air-cons in the rooms during the heatwave but the fan and an open window did the job. Wouldn’t be an issue outside of a heatwave though.

This hotel was phenomenal! We loved the room, the view, the extras (bath robes, coffee maker). The breakfast was delicious! The staff was helpful, friendly and pleasant.

The restaurant on the second floor was nothing to get excited about. We had fondue and salad bar. The fondue was mediocore. Out waiter was stressed out and not friendly. When we left the restaurant that evening we felt "a sense of relief". The tension and chaoticness was tooooooo much. Honestly would not recommend it.

The breakfast was amazing! There was fresh fruit, lots of pastries and breads to choose from, meats & cheeses, muesli, yogurts, eggs, bacon, sausages. Great coffee and juices. The staff would bring a fresh sample of smoothie each day to your table. We loved kaffee und kuchen from 2p-4p each day. It was a lovely treat to have cake and coffee after sightseeing. The gym was nice, it had several different types of machines and free weights. We used it a few times during our stay. Our room on the top floor was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The kids slept well on the pull out sofa which was already made up when we arrived. The mini fridge was kept stocked with drinks. Loved having a balcony to look out at the mountains and over the town below. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. We arrived early and they stored our luggage for us and then had it sent to the room when it was ready. They were always willing to answer questions, and offer suggestions for the area.

This is our fault when we booked (we just didn't think to check these points) -- We didn't realize there was no A/C in the rooms (or gym) and we arrived during an extreme heat wave. Also didn't realize the pool was off limits to under 16, so our two kids filled the tub with cold water to cool off. It was hard not being able to come back to the room to cool off during the peak hours of the heat. We were able to cool the room off a bit at night by having the windows open, luckily no mosquitos while we were there. No fault of the hotel, this was all over town, the flies at meals are crazy. The hotel does it's best with these little machines they put on tables, but dozens of flies will still swarm around you, land in your hand, on your food, on your legs... this was all over town, not just at the hotel, and is part of the journey. The hotel is pretty expensive, and since we couldn't take part in the pool as a family it doesn't seem worth the price, but it is a very nice hotel.

Small room and particularly small bathroom. Our room faced the road and was opposite a very noisy bar. The staff were very helpful helping us resolve the issue for our second night in Grindelwald.

The location was good. Laundry was easily available. Barry's was good. Staff was friendly and helpful most of the time.

It was very hot during our stay. There are no screens in the windows- so we could smell cigarette smoke. Also, there was a one fan per room policy- even though we had a larger family room. But, we did get an extra fan for the last night. Although, its not the hotels fault- there were flies everywhere!! Lounge/ breakfast area covered in them. Also, came into our room- woke up with them on you due to not having screens.

이번 아이거마운틴 호텔 숙박 경험을 계기로 여름여행시 호텔 에어컨유무를 꼭 확인해야겠다고 생각했습니다. 에어컨이 없다면 그에 따른 대응방식을 확인해야겠습니다. 그린델발트 대부분의 호텔에 에어컨이 없다고는 하지만 이곳은선풍기도 아닌 낮은팬을 방한개에 하나씩 배치해줍니다. 팬이 너무 시끄러워서 2단이상 사용할수도없습니다. 저희는 아이들 2명도 추가하여 4명이 묵었는데 팬은 한개 제공되었습니다 침대는 떨어져있는데 .. 어떻게 사용하라는걸까요?? 팬의 전기줄도 짧은데요.. 리셉션에 한개 더 제공가능한지 문의하였으나 여유분이 없어 절대 불가하답니다. 그리고 늦은밤이 되면 안더울거라네요. 하루종일 밖에서 활동하다가 땀범벅이 되어왔는데 호텔오니 더 더운 아이러니한 상황.. 늦은밤이 되기전까지 편안하게 쉬질 못했습니다 호텔측의 방한개에 팬한개 제공 원칙을 존중 합니다. 그러나 저희처럼 "인원이 추가 된 경우" 하나 정도는 유연하게 더 제공할수있어야할것같습니다. 그리고 1층에 파리가 너무 많습니다. 조식먹는데 파리 쫒다가 조식에 집중이 어려울정도입니다. 이부분에 대한 다른분의 리뷰도 있었던것같은데 개선이 안되는거같네요.

The room had a good bit of space and the breakfast was amazing. Everyone was helpful and friendly; the location was perfect for us as it was only a short walk from the train station and the cable cars. It was a great home base location for the duration of our time in Grindelwald.

The two queen sized beds were a bit small for four people (might've been our fault).
