However, one thing to note is that there is no elevator, so i had to carry my luggage up to the second floor using the stairs. It was a little challenging, especially with heavy luggage. Overall, i still had a pleasant stay, and hopefully the hotel can consider providing better accessibility in the future.

No tenía ventana y me dio agobio, en el anuncio ponía vistas y por eso la cogí.El primer día olía a humedad que se solucionó con el aire acondicionado, pero la segunda estaba el baño hinundado de agua que se escapaba por la goma del bidé, es una pena que no lo arreglen porque está muy recomendable pero creo que ya hace tiempo que está así.

Room was very small and no windows so felt very claustrophobic. Walls were dirty by the bed. Stairs were very tight for suitcases or rucksacks and no lift. No hot water even when switch was turned on. Air freshener in toilet was very very strong and the whole room smelt like it - made our eyes sting until you had been in the room for a while

La struttura, sporca e con profondo odore di muffa. Le camere anguste. Lenzuola con macchie di urina e feci. Il bagno perdeva e camminando sulle piastrelle usciva l’acqua del gabinetto. Il personale davvero scortese, avevamo prenotato una stanza doppia con letti separati, alle 9 del mattino ci arriva un messaggio da Connie che ci chiede i documenti e quale preferenza avessimo per i letti, se matrimoniale o singoli, le rispondiamo 10 minuti dopo e ci scrive che le stanze con letti singoli erano finite poiché un’altro ospite le aveva risposto prima di noi, chi prima arriva meglio alloggia ci ha detto… davvero poco professionale. Abbiamo dovuto prenotare un’altra struttura, tenetevi i vostri 15€ a notte, siete dei pezzenti.

Reviewed Jul 9, 2026I spent a few nights at the YX Oasis Hotel, and it was such a great place to stay after going down the Kinabatangan river. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable (and I'm picky about beds), the wifi worked great, the check-in was flawless, the price was great, the aircon was fantastic, and everything just worked out well. The location is near several restaurants and shops, which is convenient.

Reviewed Jul 6, 2026Location is good with lots of restaurants, supermarkets, laundries around. Room has good AC, hot shower, fast internet etc. Staff are friendly and self check in is easy. I stayed here a couple of weeks and used their advertised driver Mr Rams to take me to Sepilok or wherever which was the same price as Grab and can be organised on WhatsApp. I'd definitely stay here again.

Wir hatten das Zimmer 013 im untersten Stockwerk. Das Zimmer hatte keine Fenster und war sehr klein. Dadurch war es extrem stickig, wodurch man die Klimaanlage die ganze Nacht anmachen musste. Am schlimmsten ist aber die minderwertige Einrichtung und der Zustand des Zimmers gewesen. Nur noch übertroffen von der mangelnden Sauberkeit: Gelbe Bettdecke, dreckiges Bettlacken, tote Insekten hinterm Bett und alte Verpackungsreste, Motten Cocoons die von der Decke hängen und an den Wänden vorzufinden sind. Wirklich Ekelhaft und unverschämt, sowas seinen Gästen anzubieten. Die positiven Bewertungen kann ich überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen.

Good communication with the host. The staff doesn't speak English, but it's ok with a translator on the phone.

Reviewed Apr 11, 2026The twin room in which I stayed was clean and functional. I appreciated the ability to use the free water dispenser on the 2nd floor, as that saves the need to buy bottled water (and generate plastic waste). The reason that I chose this hotel was its proximity to Sandakan’s best vegetarian/vegan restaurant - Hainan Village (it’s a short walk away). Indeed, Hainan Village may be Sabah’s best vegetarian/vegan restaurant.
The room was fairly basic - no chair, no jug, no mini-fridge, a single pump canister of liquid soap for both wash basin and shower. The decor is fairly dated (eg linoleum flooring). On the first night, the hot water in the shower didn’t work, but the owner fixed it on the following day. The hotel is unattended and relies on WhatsApp for communication with guests. This arrangement works OK because staff do respond fairly promptly, however, it would potentially be a disaster if something happened to your phone - including running out of battery or, for some reason, you didn’t have data coverage in Sandakan. I mention this because I was only sent check in details (ie the code to access the building and my room) just before I arrived (after I had tried calling).

The bathroom tiles in my room were cracked, allowing water to seep underneath. I dread to think what’s accumulating beneath the surface. The Hotel need to fix this.
