Very helpful staff, nice clean rooms spacious too. Well located hotel
Nothing to mention
很好
Hotel Tara is beautifully run. The staff have a true understanding of their guests and make every effort so everything seamless. My room had an unrivalled view of the stunning Annapurnas, circling right around to the Peace Pagoda. They take great pride in their beautiful garden and entire hotel. The value for money here is exceptional! Excellent location, peaceful.
Nothing
The location was excellent, after three weeks of travelling, staying at a different hotel every night, we were blown away with the comfort of the bed!!
Nothing not to like
La ubicación a 2 cuadras del lago
La cama un poco dura y el desayuno muy básico
El hotel es muy bonito y los trabajadores muy comprometidos
Todo fue excelente
Wonderful staff, couldn't be more helpful with changing dates and many other things. Rooms are big, breakfast paratha is delicious
Everything was great
Понравилось расположение. Тихий район, но близко к озеру и всем кафе. Из наших окон на последнем этаже были прекрасно видны горы. Понравился персонал, который идет на встречу. В отеле и перед ним очень много зелени и цветов, за которыми ухаживают.
We had booked only one night originally but ended up staying for a week then coming back again after trekking. The hotel was impeccably clean, the showers hot, the beds comfortable. Most importantly to us the staff were so friendly and made us feel very at home.
Nothing. It was really great. We will definitely come back next time in Pokhara
This place was a delight to stay in, the staff went above and beyond with every request. The hot shower is great and WiFi is decent. They stored our luggage while hiking and made us feel very welcome on our return. I definitely recommend hotel Tara to anyone visiting Pokhara.
There are a lot stairs with no lift, but that wasn’t an issue for us especially if you’re planning to go hiking anyway.
Good location with great price, beautiful garden and great view. All the staff are very friendly and welcome. Great breakfast. Will book it again if I come back Pokhara. Nothing complains
Nothing complains
People very helpfull and kind
Sixth floor without lift 😉
Room, toilet and overall hotel was clean and spacious. Enough parking space was available. Staffs were friendly.
Breakfast didn't meet our expectation and was nowhere near shown in the photo. Also, there is no elevator in the hotel.
It was very comfortable and peaceful . The room was clean and the service was excellent.
The property was cleaned and staff was very cooperative
Great location, clean and comfortable room. The hotel staffs were fantastic. Breakfast was great. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Would recommend everyone to stay here.

Location great, very nice staff, everything was okay
Break fast not much option. Location good
We stayed here with family only for one night but then also the team here at Hotel Tara Pokhara exceeded expectations. Gautam was simply amazing and courteous always ready to delight with his pleasing smile. He helped us book our returning bus tickets. We were welcomed with warmth and smiles when we arrived in the evening. Room was perfect for a family stay well equipped with amenities and a balcony overlooking the mountains. Only a request please try keeping a bucket and mug in the bathrooms when requested for elderly family members. The overall experience was just too good.
Very friendly and helpful staff, nice garden with many flowers.
All ok
Warm welcome from all the staff, so friendly and relaxed. Beautiful room with amazing views. Great rooftop terrace. Perfect location, walking distance to Lakeside shops, restaurants and other attractions.
Property was perfect in every way. After several stays here, it is our favourite hotel in Pokhara.
Absolutely loved my stay - hotel on a quiet side street while less than 5 mins from waterfront, request for a specific room accommodated, small issue that came up was quickly resolved - but most importantly, amazing staff, especially Sujam, thanks so much for helping me with my various queries!
The staff. Exceptional
No lift.
Great hotel in a perfect location. Really nice room with dual aspect, balcony and mountain views on clear days. Rooftop terrace to relax. Having stayed here five times, we are looking forward to our next stay soon.
Amazing location, great price, very comfortable and clean rooms, staff is very helpful and polite, exactly as shown in pictures, beautiful ambience with the garden in front
Nothing to mention
Finding a good hotel in Nepal can be a bit of a challenge, especially when some reviews turn out to be fake or misleading. After a less-than-ideal experience at another hotel—complete with cockroaches—and visiting two other unsuitable options, stepping into the doors of Hotel Tara was like finding an oasis in the desert. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and kindness, as if we were part of their family. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, offering us a room on the 5th floor with absolutely stunning views. On clear days, you can even see the snow-capped peaks of the distant mountains, making the balcony an idyllic spot to relax and take it all in. The room itself was cozy, impeccably clean, and radiated a sense of calm and balance—it had an energy that just felt right. While the breakfast was simple, it was sufficient to start the day, and the options for lunch and dinner more than made up for it. The dishes were delicious, and the availability of room service was a lovely touch for those days when we just wanted to kick back and relax. But above all, what truly stood out was the people. Hospitality like this can’t be faked—it’s something genuine. The team at Hotel Tara made us feel valued and cared for, going out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic stay. Their kindness and authenticity will remain the highlight of our time there. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a home away from home, with beautiful views and heartfelt hospitality, Hotel Tara is the one.
Everything! This place is brilliant, the location is perfect, the staff are friendly and the hotel is spotless - couldn't recommend more!
Nothing - a perfect stay!
Stay was excellent. I have been coming here for many years. It is well kept.
A great place to stay in Pokhara. Spacious and clean rooms. Friendly and caring staff. Great energy. Beautiful view of snow covered mountains and peace stupa from my room. Every one in there made sure that my stay was perfect. Gautham, Sujan, Alisha and Pravin were great. Cleaning staff also made sure my room was spotless. I will recommend everyone who visit Pokhara to stay there.
Everyone in the Staff, specially Gautam and Soojan. Amazing people.
Very well maintained .
Every thing is too good
Nothing
The placement of the hotel and the staff.
Beautiful courtyard with very friendly staff and nice rooms. We stayed here with family of 15 and celebrated my kids birthday. Rooms are nicely ventilated. Property is near to lake. It’s nicely located. I may come here in future . Staff are very helpful
The staff were so helpful
Just there was no life other than that it is awesome
Good environmental and staffs are friendly
Limited choices of foods
its good
Beautiful views. Room was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. Balcony a nice extra. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The view from the room is really nice
Cleanliness was good.
Customer service quite okay but food was totally waste of money
Clean and centrally located
Breakfast a bit underwhelming
The staff was very kind and helpfull. They helped with our trekking permits, printing out certain documents and other things. It was also very kind that we could check in early to our room as we came back from our trek. Really liked that the room was light and that it had a balcony.
Only negative I have is that the shower was not one time immediately hot when I turned it on. One time it could be fixed after we called reception. The other time it had run out. Tried again the morning we left but the shower was cold...
Beautiful courtyard full of flowers. Good family run hotel with friendly, helpful staff and comfortable rooms. Good location, near to lake and shops and some good places to eat. Felt like a safe area. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful.
Great room with mountain view, which was even better than at restaurants by the lake. The room is huge, perfect after hiking. The staff is very helpful
It was satisfactory. 1. Hotel was clean and the staff was also helpful. 2. Hotel don't have lift and hence, not suitable for senior citizen. 3. Hotel don't serve vegetarian food. 4. Furniture was and not designed to comfort of guest and hence, requires modification/replacement.
I love this hotel and the owner who are very nice and familiar. All workers are also familiar and frieendly. The food are very delicious. The rooms are so clean and heathy . I am glad to came there again and again😊😊
We spent three nights at this simple, yet very comfortable, clean and convenient small hotel, along with several friends. The room was well appointed and the bed comfortable. We could see the Annapurna range from our third floor balcony (when the weather cooperated) and the hotel was a short walk from lake Tara and a variety of restaurants. The breakfast was very good and varied each day (great oatmeal). Other meals were also excellent. Our experience on our last day, though, demonstrated the quality and care of the staff. I slipped coming out of the bathroom and severely broke my ankle. The hotel owner/manager drove my wife and me to an emergency clinic and then to a teaching hospital. He stayed with us through the whole ordeal translating as needed and even paying all our bills (I reimbursed him). Then he drove us to meet the rest of our group at the airport. Although not the way we would have chosen to end our trip to a Pokhara, the staff’s kindness endeared us to this hotel. We hope to return one day.
We thought about staying for a day or two but ended up staying for a week. Although we had some problems with noise inside the hotel on the first day it was quickly fixed by staff and they did their best to assist us
Centrally located - just 100 metres from Lake Fewa which is main tourist spot for all travellers. All restaurants, shopping places etc. are located just at a short walk of 2 mins. Room was clean and spacious. Each room has an attached balcony with good views. Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast which is included is alacarte with 2 options - Indian - stuffed paratha with curd/pickle and tea/coffee or western breakfast with toast, 2 eggs ( cooked in requested style) and tea/coffee
Very centrally located..very courteous hotel staff.the view from the room was splendid. The amenities, linen, cleanliness was up to the mark.however the breakfast menu could be improved and an elevator could be added
Hotel Tara is the good hotel in Pokhara, it is located in the perfect location at lakeside shops and restaurants are not even 1 minute far from the hotel and if you walk 5 minute from the hotel you will reach the fewa lake which is one of the main attraction of city, services at this hotel is fantastic staffs are friendly and helpfull and always smiling gives you every details of your queries.
We had booked 02 triple bed rooms. Rooms were average in size, average amenities. Poor light in rooms, even corridor was having better lightings than rooms. 01 bottle drinking water provided /night, however they sent another 02 bottles on request without any extra charge. Rooms having excellent view of Himalaya. Good Balcony in each room. Breakfast was pathetic. Continental - 02pc Bread Toast (piece of butter was meant for Liliputian), 02 eggs, 4-5 pcs sauted potatoes and tea or coffee. Indian- Only 01 Stuffed Paratha with curd/pickle, and tea or coffee. Visitors, please take a note of the same. If you think you will get heavy breakfast, then you will be disappointed. Worst part is non availability of elevator. However, hotel staffs took care of our luggage. Difficult for Sr. Citizen. Staffs were cooperative. No staff rooms for driver. Parking available. Good ambiance, near Phewa Lake. 3 out of 5 ranking
This hotel is a recipe for disaster. If you are booking for more than 1 nights, they won’t clean you room the second day. There is no hot water in the rooms. The breakfast is complimentary with certain room types but that would take 1 hour to prepare. The food is really terrible and the restaurant won’t open post 9PM. On top of everything, the service is really slow and bad. If you try pointing out any of these issues to them, they would start fighting with you. Please avoid this hotel!!!
Firstly, I have to compliment the staff for their friendly and accommodating service throughout, whether it was in the vehicle for airport transfer, at the reception desk, or in the restaurant. There was one night where the hot water ran out, but after going down to the desk and informing the staff on duty, he ensured that we got our hot shower within minutes; an essential during the winter month. The room itself was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was included in the room price and the menu offered a choice of Indian-style or continental-style breakfast. Staying for two nights, I had the opportunity to try both and they were equally great. A small downside is that there is no lift in this hotel, which might be a bit of an obstacle for those staying on the higher floors, but the view from the balconies and especially the rooftop is really amazing. You get a great view of most of the city as well as the mountain range in the distance. It is also located a short walk away from Phewa Lake and the main road serving most of the restaurants/shops in Lakeside.
Very friendly staff, clean rooms, easy checkin, lovely flowers and overall atmosphere. Great place to relax after a hike. Location is near lake close to shops and restaurants! Definitely would recommend for everybody.
driver picked us up from airport. checkin was easy. they had all the basics in the room- water bottle, hairdryer, soap/shampoo, comb, toothbrush. views were nice. definitely go up to the rooftop and watch sunrise for a good view of the majestic annapurna peaks. we headed to lakeside (take a right going out of hotel then a right on the main drag at the harbor hotel and walk about 5-10min) for dinner. at night it was rather noisy as the walls/windows are thin. breakfast is served 0630-0930. we had the continental option with mint tea & coffee. not bad. headed out for the day. checkout is at noon and they held our luggage until we left for the next spot. it cost us ~usd35 for one night. the only issue is that the shower head (in same space as toilet/sink) sprayed everywhere and they had no hot water the second day. wifi worked fine. hotel is beautiful when you drive up w nice little courtyard area.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Tara and it is definitely one of our best stays in Nepal this time. The room was super comfy, well furnished and had all the basic amenities. It has a balcony and a window view of the majestic Macchapuchare (Fishtail) Mountain and Dakshin Annapurna. We loved their included breakfast especially the Continental breakfast, and as for the indian aloo paratha breakfast, they could increase the portion to make it as fulfilling as the other one. It's located in a very convenient place, just a few minutes walk to the Phewa lake, and the lakeside road and its lined shops. We did not have to worry about our bus back to kathmandu as they helped us buy the tickets and also dropped us off to the bus stop at 7 am. We highly recommend Tara Hotel for a lovely stay in Pokhara!!

This is the 5th year I've been to Nepal and when in Pokhara Hotel Tara has been my preferred choice. It's a 'hidden gem' with great location, friendly & helpful staff, excellent rooms and facilities and very competitively priced. I believe the prices will eventually increase once other travellers realise what they're missing. This year (Sept - Nov 2018) between treks I'm spending a total of 18 days at Hotel Tara and enjoying every moment.
I came here on a trip with my friends during the off season from what I’m told. There was still a lot of foot traffic, and while they days were rainy and cloudy, the views were still beautiful from our balcony. For what we spent, the included breakfast was plenty and we still had the option to upgrade our meal. I got the continental breakfast each morning and added the sausage and a small pot of tea that I shared with one of my friends. The meal service was awesome, and housekeeping was very attentive, kept our rooms clean, and beds crisp every morning! I can’t wait to plan my next trip in a year, I hope to see what Pokhara looks like during peak season and will book at Hotel Tara again to enjoy the spectacular views I’ll see from the balcony when the skies clear up!
Me and my friends have been going to this hotel for few years now and haven't been disappointed. Our stay here has always been pleasant. The staffs are very helpful and sweet people. I like the rooms we got. Very comfortable bed. Their breakfast is good too. I love their Indian style breakfast i.e. aloo paratha. Only staying at hotel Tara when we go to Pokhara!
A nice hotel! The staff was pleasant, and the rooms were really clean, plus there was a balcony. The tv didn’t work, otherwise a nice hotel overall.
I m giving terrible because of there business sense and unprofessional attitude. I had gone to hotel to book a room for my self on 12th april around 8pm I wanted to book room till 16th april 2018. They asked for Npr.3200/- per night but with a condition that on 13th night they wanted to charge Npr.4200/- and from next day back to Npr.3200/- for remaining days. There logic was that as 13th night was nepali new year night the rates will increase by Npr.1000/- which sounded so unprofessional and bad business. As I had told them that I have stayed at the palce before also they said that its there policy. As I had stayed 3 times before also and liked the room wanted to stay again and was even willing to pay Npr3200/- when I know that we can get lesser price through tripadvisor which is from 2200/- to 2800/-. Well I didn't took the hotel and went to a different hotel and have decided never to go that hotel tara again. So they lost a regular customer and at the same time lost atleast 2000/- just for the 12th night as there room would go vacant as I don't think anyone else would have occupied that room on 12th night. They got greedy to make more money for the next day but lost the business for four night. And for remaining days also they would have made more then there regular price.
Good experience in the hotel and located in a wonderful area
Nice hotel that is clean and close to the lake. No complaints except for terrible WiFi.
Good...Comfortable...Hospitable...Good service..The staff..Both front office and service. ..are good and helpful.
Just had 8 nights in this hotel and we got a great deal for booking early. The room and shower room was new, bed large and comfortable and all the staff extremely friendly. Great position, laundry, grocers, restaurants all on the doorstep. We had a balcony and a side window with a view of fishtail mountain. You can also see the mountain and lake from the rooftop terrace. Simple but tasty breakfast, highly recommend this small, friendly hotel.
Overall, a better than average hotel in Pokhara. Can get cheaper but you'll get what you pay for. This is not upmarket (nothing in Pokhara is) but it is clean, comfortable and offers good friendly service.
