Old house made into hotel. No elevator. Very bad for old people or people with knee problems.

Otel gayet temizdi girişte birinci kattaki odada kaldık üst kata çıkan merdivenler odanın içinde çok ses olmasına sebebiyet veriyordu. ses yalıtımı çok kötü. Başka odada çalan alarmı kendi arkadaşımın telefonu çalıyor sandım. Ses çok olduğu için çok rahat uyuyamadık.

İlk karşılama çok güzeldi konakladığım sevimli bir butik otel oldu fakat tv çalısmıyordu ve prizler arızalı ama çok dert etmedik güleryüz sayesinde

Olumlu tarafı olarak temizliğini soyleyebilirim. Oldukça temizdi. Sıcak bir ortam. Olumsuz tarafları ise; kaldığım oda gün ışığını pek almıyordu. O nedenle gün içinde odada zaman geçirmek pek mümkün olmayabilir. İnternet hızı yeterli değildi. Yataklar hareket edince gıcırdıyordu.

One staff is not professional. 私は今までどのサイトも悪い評価の口コミを書いたことがありません。 それは書いている時間がもったいないし私自身、嫌な気持ちになるからです。 でも書かずにはいられない事が起きました。 分かりやすく書くつもりです。 私達は10日間このホテルに滞在しました。 1人のスタッフはとても親切に気持ち良く接してくださいました。 しかし私はこのホテルで酷い対応を経験をしました。私達は今まで世界中のホテルに300泊ぐらい滞在してきましたが酷い対応を受けたのは初めてでした。 私はびっくりしたと同時にショックでした。 １.このホテルは3日に一回の掃除とタオルの交換をしています。 2日目、私達は部屋の鍵を掛けて出掛けました。そして私達は外出から帰ってきました。部屋の鍵がかかっていませんでした。そしてゴミが無くなっていたり、コーヒーカップが元の位置に戻っていたことで清掃スタッフが部屋に入ったと気付きました。 私はカップを手に取りました。カップの受け皿が茶色く汚れていて、私は自分でそれを洗いました。私達が使った時よりも受け皿が汚れていたことが私はとても気持ち悪かったです。また、カップに入れていたものが洗面台に直に置いてありとても汚くなりました そして、部屋の鍵がかかっていないと、泥棒が入るかもしれません。 なので私はまず掃除の日以外は部屋に入らないでくださいとスタッフに伝えました。 そのスタッフは危険なことなどチェックするために毎日、スタッフが客の部屋に入らなければならないと言いました。私はそれは理解しました。 そうであれば、私はカップは自分で洗います。なので、カップは触らないでくださいと伝えました。 そのことは清掃スタッフの仕事が少し減るだけなので私はその話はすぐ済むと思っていました。 しかしそのスタッフはwhy？と言いました。 私は清掃スタッフへの悪口になるから言いたくありませんでしたが。 ２.このホテルは階段の前で靴を脱ぐスタイルでロビーは靴を履いて歩きます。 私達は階段の前で靴を脱ぐように言われていました。 ある時清掃スタッフがロビーで履いていた靴で階段を上り私達の部屋に入りました。 私は綺麗な階段と部屋だと信じていたから私は靴を脱いで歩いていました。とてもショックでした。 私達は自分で部屋用のflip flopsを用意しました。 そのあるスタッフは主張を言い通しました。その表情、言葉は自分たちは全く悪くないという表れでした。 そのスタッフの態度は彼女自身が客よりも上の立場と思っているのがはっきりわかりました。 私はとても失望しました。 私は掃除の後に鍵がかかってなかったこと+カップが茶色く汚れていたのはもはや、どうでもよくなりました。 そのことよりも客を怒らせるホテルスタッフがいることのがどれだけ悪いホテルか！ 私はこんな経験は二度としたくはありません！ もしあなたが楽しい旅をしたいのならこのホテルに滞在することはお薦めしません。 1人のスタッフの接客対応が変わらない限りはあなたはとても嫌な気持ちにさせられて楽しい旅にはならないでしょう。 ただしそのスタッフと挨拶程度に話していれば最悪な気持ちにはならないでしょう！ またある朝、私はitchy 。目が覚めました。 mitesか何かに刺されて赤くなってました。1週間経った今は更にひどくなっています。気をつけてください。

A very good value for the area and convenient location for Istanbul's main attractions (Sultanahmet, Grand Bazaar, etc.). Because it is a boutique hotel employees are not always around 24/7, but were able to be contacted at any time and otherwise very accommodating. The structure itself is an older building so may feel a bit small for some - but I really liked the unique building and decor; felt both traditional and homey. Overall a very pleasant experience.

很可惜匆匆抵達，只住一晚後便匆匆離去。 這裡的房間（尤其浴室）、服務人員、早餐是我所喜歡的。 有個小缺點就是他們沒有電梯，只有樓梯，如果住的樓層比較高，行李又多，會比較不方便，但整體來說還不錯。

Perto de ótimos restaurantes e de áreas histórias. Aproximadamente 20 minutos da Mesquita azul e da Hagia Sofia. Quarto confortável e limpo.

Útulný rodinný hotel zaujme svojou atmosferou. Prijemný personal dohovorite sa anglicky a rusky. Pripravujú chutné raňajky. Izba bola čistá a posteľ nebola preležana. Umiestnenie hotela je v malej pokojnej uličke. Da sa dostať pešo na grand bazar aj do historickych mešit. Spali sme tam 4 noci a citili sme sa bezpečne a dobre. Odporučam. Je to niečo celkom iné ako medzinarodne hotely s ful servisom.

What a wonderful hotel, tucked away down a side street with views of the sea. The service was amazing, breakfasts delicious and fresh. It's location was perfect for local restaurants and the big tourist attractions in sultanamet. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very central, Easy to walk to the centre of the OLD CITY. Good WIFI connections. Suggest you include breakfast in the package. It is worth trying. Just a reminder...staircases of the hotel are very steep like everywhere else in Istanbul and surrounding area is paved with cobblestones.

Enjoyed the stay and the couple running the place were great with advice and information about the area. Would highly recommend to other travelers :)

Uzun bir seyahatten döndüğümüzde icin check in saatimiz biraz geç oldu. Hostel boş olduğu icin bizi daha iyi bir odaya yerleştirdiler. Oda biraz kucuk olmasina rağmen gayet konforluydu. Tek eksi yonu odanın yalıtımsızlığıydı, bir alt kattaki odadakilerin konusmalarini duyabiliyorduk (belki de bağırarak konusyorlardir bilmiyorum). Genel olarak çok memnun ayrıldık hostelden.

Otel sahipleri çok misafir perverdiler her konuda yardımcı olmaya çalıştılar.Çok şirin eviniz tadında hoş bir otel. Bu bölgedeki Tek adresim olacağını söyleyebilirim :)

Stayed in Tom Square for five days during my first holiday abroad in Istanbul, and enjoyed every bit of our stay. The staff are wonderful, the family is so welcoming, friendly and warm. They were so helpful! Additionally, the rooms were clean, nicely furnished, and the hotel decor so cute and quaint, especially for the price. The hotel itself is located in a lovely, sweet little district within easy walking distance of all the great landmarks, including the Blue Mosque, the Bazaar and Topkapi Palace. If you're new to Istanbul, I highly recommend staying here.

This boutique hotel is running by a lovely family. Rooms are comfy and clean. Breakfast has lots of choice. It is 10 min walk to old city center. Staff is helpful and speak good english. I recommend this hotel to everyone who seeks family atmosphere instead of 5 star hotel without personal relations.

tomsquare has found a neighborhood that allowed me to sleep throughout the night WITHOUT earplugs on, very reliable Wi-Fi, clean, pleasant size rooms, a useful kitchen, a market around the corner, filtered water, but most importantly a very helpful staff. the stairs are wooden and although you can hear people to and from their room it wasn't loud enough to disturb a person, in my opinion, as the guest were all considerate when entering late at night. some voices will travel through the rooms but only in cases where people were talking loud in the first place which was seldom. I think guest were aware of the quiet atmosphere and respected it. I heard some neighbors at night but tapers off quickly. Ali and Yusuf are very informed about their city with all modes of transportation, very accurate on how to get to your location and Yusuf even lent me his metro card (forgot what they're called) making it so easy to add money to help ease and to save a lot on commuting with mass transit. you may also enjoy some interesting conversation about their country and customs as they make time for you. I stayed four nights and would definitely recommend this place to people who want to visit Istanbul from outside their room not from their window view. I think tomsquare is a quant, nicely kept hotel that's efficient for guest. I was by myself and never felt intimidated by the location. the main street close by (2 short streets north) is mainly local without tourist shops.

The hotel was about 10 minutes from the Blue Mosque and 5 minutes from the Grand Bazaar. We enjoyed the room and the location and found the staff responsive.

I didn't like this hotel, it is really far from the Blue Mosque, ayasofya Mosque, the hotel really hard to find, There no service in hotel, they asked me to show them my MasterCard , and they saw my pin code, I didn't want to show them , they said if I havent show them my MasterCard , they will give Me my money back, And we should find another hotel , at 10 p.m in the evening!!!! So I agreed to show them my card, cause I didn't want to sleep outside. There is one plus, there is one food shop near the hotel, and the room in the hotel is clean

Traveled as a couple and spent 4 nights here- rooms are small and extremely clean. Excellent location- a bit hard to find at first. We took the metro and walked with very little problem (but we had printed out a map with directions first). Be prepared for something of a home style stay- it's small, the neighbors are real families and you need to take your shoes off when you go in. Think the opposite of a Hyatt or Mariott.

We definitely lucked out. Not only was it super cheap but the service was great and the hotel is incredible. It is a small, old building, but the interior had been remodeled and it looks great. The room was tastefully decorated and all the appliances were new and worked great. I wished I could get it right like this every time.

My daughter and I stayed at Tom Square for 5 days last week in Istanbul and it was a wonderful place. Small and quaint but very adequate for what we wanted. We spent our days wandering and touring Istanbul and this was a perfect location. The street the hotel is on is a little rough, but we never felt unsafe and we walked everywhere. The staff was fantastic and very helpful, even helping us get at taxi at 2:30am to get the airport. I would definately recommend this hotel!

The hotel is quite decent with simple breakfast included,the staff is friendly and helpful. Its 5-10mins walk to the grand bazzar but be ready for the steep hills. Not recommend to catch a cab from the metro station like they suggested you,especially those cab waiting right outside of the station cuz they will rip you off by driving around aimlessly and pretended they know their way.

We stayed 2 nights in a twin room at Tom Square. We had trouble finding the hotel so we asked at an internet cafe. The internet cafe owner called up the hotel and the hotel staff came to the internet cafe to guide us to the hotel which was nice. Room was clean and had good upkeep, all the general amenities were good (wifi, fridge, internet). They gave us a jug of cold water when we checked in which was good since it was so hot and humid outside. Hotel staff were also quite helpful.

The hotel was better than we expected, but what really made it was the people-Ali, Yusef and Nana went out of their way to make us feel at home and make our stay a great one.The hotel is a bit noisy at night (just guests coming in and out and chatting) as it's mostly a wooden construction,but the hotels other attibutes made up for it. It was a picture of the front door which initually attracted me to the hotel in the first place,but the entire building is really pretty, quaint and nicely decorated. The area in which the hotel is situated is a working class area with many shoe makers and shops-in the day time we felt 100% safe but at night we were a little more cautious.The hotel is close to most of the Istanbul attractions,the public transport system is awesome & cheap (but if you cant speak Turkish, be sure to ask at the hotel exactly what buses, ferries, etc to take as it's tricky to find directions in English).There are a number of touristy restaurants close by which are a pain in that they are unpleasantly pushy (competing with one another for business), expensive and not that great.They also add on cover charges for anything from water to bread and generally add a 10% service fee which is fine if the service is good,but irksome when service is shocking as it often was-as opposed to the Tom Square staff,the waiters are often rude and arrogant. We MUCH prefered the local eateries although these seldom serve any alcohol. All in all a wonderful stay

The room was basically the space Under the stairs between the reception and dining room with a window opening to the dining room, so pretty much a dark room with a window you can't open and terrible noise all the time as people walk and suitcases are lugged...and the 'basement' feature was not mentioned while booking. On complaining we were shifted to a nearby apartment, which also had basement bedrooms under a very busy narrow road. So, if 'noise' is a factor, look elsewhere. The rooms are not cleaned and cabs are not booked even after requesting! Highly suggest giving it a miss. You'll find much better places in your budget in the area.

Had a hard time looking for the hotel with a very narrow streets so tried to phone the hotel for directions but was told i dont know where you are even asking us to go to a big hotel and take a taxi from there, how would they expect you to find another hotel wherein you cant even find them!apart from that we ask how many taxis and they dont even know where it is...finally we found it after nearly two hours and the so called manager blame us for not having a map and we were told next time make sure you know where youre going..What!!!even you have a map its still difficult to find it...Moreover, breakfast is the same everyday with boiled egg every other day...theres no lift so you have to climb in a narrow stairs...the hotel is build in wood, floor, ceiling, wall so you can hear everything, footsteps upstairs and downstairs, door opening and closing, voices everywhere, even cracking of nuts! walking on those steep streets is also a struggle especially if you got a back pain...in fairness the staff are nice and they speak english...with the price we pay we can get a much better hotel...we will not go back there again...

We enjoyed staying in a neighborhood that was near enough to all the tourist activity. We didn't mind walking a bit. Some of the neighborhood is being renovated.

I did not stay at this hotel It was cancelled by the home owner!! Yes there were 7 small rooms for this 2 1/2 stars hotel they should not call it a hotel I am glad the house owner cancelled before my arrival

The apartment itself was a comfortable place, with good shower, comfortable bed and decent facilities. It was located a 30 second walk from the main hotel where we took breakfast. Breakfast was a reasonable buffet of cheese, bread, ham and eggs and some fruit and coffee. Plenty to start the day off. As for the location of the apartment, it was very close indeed to Kumkapi and the host of great restaurants. However, the street that it was on left a little to be desired and the next door "building" was in the process of major renovation. Unfortunately this was at our expense and on each of the 3 nights we were disturbed until late (i.e midnight, with banging, crashing, angle grinding etc). This would then re- start in the early morning, including on Sunday! Basically, a great little apartment, but spoilt by the noise, the like of which would not be permitted in the UK!

if you're looking for a cute little hotel/b&b away from all those tourists but very close to a touristic area, look no further. Very impressive new hotel (2012) only a few minutes away from Sultanahmet. 10 min from grand bazar. We could see the blue Mosque from our room! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We recommend!!

It was a little difficult for my driver to find this hotel at first, and I must admit, I did wonder of I would manage to ever find it again after leaving the front door, but it was actually quite straight forward. I was not in the actual hotel, but in an offshoot along the road in Volare Apartments, which were perfect for me. I had the top floor which overlooked tatty rooftops, but it had a little balcony where I could see the sea from. This room also had a little kitchenette. I went to the main hotel for breakfast every morning which was a good selection of cheeses, salads, fruits, bread and cake. I loved sitting on the balcony for my first cup of coffee in the morning, hearing the seagulls and watching the place come to life. There was also free wifi, a huge bonus to me as I travelled alone and took my laptop to keep in touch with friends. To get to the main sites eg Blue Mosque etc etc was about a 10 minute leisurely walk. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would definitely stay there again.
