Annex Katsutaro Ryokan

Die Lage ist ruhig, direkt vor dem Hotel fährt ein kleiner historischer Bus Richtung UENO-Park. Die Kommunikation mit dem Hotel war gut und einfach. Die Ausstattung ist einfach, aber gut und für den Preis angemessen.

Costo troppo elevato per il livello di struttura, si chiama ryokan ma di ryokan ha solo il tatami e la finestra shoji. Coprifuoco alle 22 un po limitante, sebbene ci sia la possibilita di accedere dal retro. Bagno troppo vetusto.

An authentic Japanese experience, family run ryokan. Very nice helpful owners . Nice quiet area, restaurants and convenience shops close by.

Maybe if you’re older, floor mats are a little difficult although comfortable

Lovely ryokan located in one of the most beautiful and authentic areas of Tokyo, very close to the metro station. Nippori Station is also nearby, with direct trains to Narita Airport. The owners are wonderful and speak excellent English. I’d love to come back and would definitely recommend it to friends visiting Tokyo.

Quiet calm and comfortable. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Very well located for transport, small shops and restaurants. Would definitely come back. You can be out in the busiest, buzziest and intense bits of Tokyo and return to this little oasis for a peaceful nights sleep.

Air con was a bit tricky to control and the room got very hot when we were out of it.

Hostal gestionado por una familia, muy amables y serviciales. Habitación con todas las facilidades (A/C; wifi, enchufes de sobra, luz adaptable; etc). Tienes un batín y unas zapatillas a tu disposición. Cerca de estaciones de metro, bus y en el centro del barrio antiguo de Yanaha.

Son instalaciones correctas pero anticuadas, aunque por el precio que tiene, es perfecto.

Die schöne Lage in Yanaka!

The owners are very welcoming and helpful. The room with the tatami was nice and sleeping there was very comfortable. Ideally located close to a metro station and to many shops in a charming part of Tokyo.

Uitstekende plek in Tokyo, 150 m van Sendagi metrostration, in een wijk met veel restaurantjes en lokale sfeer. De guesthouse heeft tatami-kamers, wasmachines op de gang en vriendelijke eigenaren.

Er is geen ontbijt te krijgen, wel een konbini aan de overkant.

Todo .a 15 minutos de Tokio station. Hay un restaurant estoy muy sabroso y económico frente y un Seven eleven. Barrio muy tranquilo en la zona de ueno .típico ryokan japonés .a.c. tv. Y baño privado .super limpio. El personal habla un poco de inglés y eso ayuda mucho .

Les propriétaires sont très gentils, accueillants et serviables. Ils ont répondu à mes questions, m’ont aidée à réserver le taxi pour le départ et à trouver facilement un magasin pour acheter une valise. L'auberge est très propre et bien située, dans un quartier calme, à 30 minutes à pied du parc Ueno, et à 15 minutes à pied sanctuaire Nezu-Jinja que je recommande de visiter pour sa beauté et sa tranquillité. De même, la rue commerçante Yanaka Ginza, à quelques mètres de l'auberge, est parfaite pour prendre un petit déjeuner, une boisson et pour y trouver plein de souvenirs à rapporter dans sa valise. Le restaurant de bœuf et burgers en face de l'auberge est excellent ! Il y a tout ce qu’il faut dans la chambre : des produits de toilette, une télévision, des serviettes, du thé et du café qu’on peut descendre récupérer au rez-de-chaussée également. J’étais très confortablement installée. Je recommande ce logement.

Friendly staff although not great with English. Location is good, since Ryokan - Annex Katsutaro is near an area with lots of small shops amd cafes.

Blankets had stains and the Ryokan is a bit far from downtown.

日暮里(スカイライナー)までは10分かからない、千駄木駅(地下鉄)は4分くらいの立地で、東京を色々回るのにさ最適だと思います！ホテル近くに、レストラン、銭湯、コンビニなどあり長期滞在にも良いと思います。 スタッフの方はとても優しく、大変過ごしやすいホテルだと思います！

A typical, simple, beautiful ryokan. It was exactly what we wanted in Taito City. The couple who run it are very helpful. A gem.

Location to Yanaka Ginza and Nippori station was excellent. Seven Eleven is across the street. Also a little walk from Nezu Shrine. Annex was clean and comfortable. Staff were kind. Lobby with tables was very accommodating. Room included robes and slippers. Tatami beds were surprisingly comfortable. Good wi-fi. Powerful A/C.

A modernized three-story ryokan conveniently located in the heart of the Yanaka District, an easy walk from Nippori Station (for direct access from and to Narita Airport on the Keisei Line, plus the JR Yamanote Line) and steps from Sendagi Station on the Chiyoda Line (more on this below). The tatami rooms feel quite spacious by Tokyo standards--I especially like the open shelving design which looks smart and is quite practical. There is an elevator in this building, making access easier to the upper floors. There are many eating options nearby, including a hole-in-the-wall style Chinese restaurant called Mao Family Noodle Shop located a few storefronts away from the nearest Sendagi Station entrance. For people who like delicious and robustly flavoured Chinese food, I highly recommend their mabo tofu with white rice--wow that was incredible, after I requested they prepare it with extra numbing pepper (extra "hua jiao" in Mandarin). Evening walks in the neighbourhood were a delight. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.

Some of the fixtures have a bit of a yellow aged feeling, so this property is starting to show its age. The owners at the front desk are friendly and helpful when present, but there seem to be long stretches when no-one is around, giving a bit of a "home alone" feeling (I suppose some guests may view this as a plus, but for a family run ryokan in Japan it does feel a bit distant). Finally, prospective guests should note that taking the Chiyoda Line into the city in the morning, and out of the city (i.e. back to Sendagi Station) in the evening, is not for the faint of heart!

Excellent location. Great-value for solo and couples. Sleep on futon in traditional tatami floor. The ryokan is walking distance from Nishi-Nippori (train & skyline) station (12") and Sendagi (Tokyo subway, C-Chiyoda line) station (4"). The owners are very kind and helpful. Althought he Ryokan does not include breakfast, if you want the full local experience you can walk 10" to a traditional Japanese breakfast & meal at a small-quiet and cozy restaurant called 'Ichirantei'. P.S. there are also public bathhouses within walking distance, if you like that type of experience.

The staff were extremely friendly, patient, helpful and proactive to ensure I had the best experience not just in their Ryokan but in Tokyo overall. The room was spacious, we could open 3 large luggages and still had space to move around to pack our stuff. The Ryokan provides everything we needed. I would give 100 stars if I could.

There is nothing I did not like about my stay. But if I really had to write about something, maybe I would have to say traditional Ryokan sliding tatami window and blinds does not fully block light from entering the room. However, this did not affect my sleep much. The beds, airconditioning and pillows were super comfortable.

Another stay here, another great time I had : comfortable room, convenient location, charming neighborhood, adorable hosts. First time visitors ? This is a really good option, do consider staying there, it's worth it !

The room was exactly what we needed for a comfortable night. Excellent location amongst little shops and restaurants. The best bakery is nearby and opens early at 6 am. The staff spoke fluent English. The instructions for everything (including the thermostat) were also in English. Nice area to sit and eat our food in the lobby downstairs. Washer and dryer were very handy.

I really liked the location. The staff spoke English very well and were very kind. The futon was comfortable. I would definitely recommend it!

If you want to sleep in, consider bringing a sleep mask because the room gets quite bright in the morning.

La chambre est propre et spacieuse. Le logement est idéalement situé avec le JR et le métro à côté et le quartier est calme la nuit.

Malheureusement il n'y a aucun équipement pour manger sur place (couvert, micro-onde etc.) à l'auberge. La chambre était humide et il faisait vite lourd.

空間乾淨且寬敞，街區安靜，晚上沒什麼噪音，附近有走路1、2分鐘的超市及便利商店，白天的街區很棒，很適合慢慢逛。 晚上有門禁要從小門進出。 有電梯，有投幣式洗衣機（7:00-22:00可使用，但若真得無法在此時段洗衣，附近也有自助式洗衣） 老闆及老闆娘可以簡單英文對話。 房間就如同照片所示。 離JR日暮里車站大約要走路10分鐘，往返成田機場方便。 整體住宿經驗很棒，而且房價相較於東京其他地方不貴，非常適合獨自旅行的女性居住。

The location. After a busy day, it's comforting to come back to a quiet place, and the smiling owners. The room was very big and comfortable.

Muy buena ubicación, cerca de dos estaciones de metro, conbinis y supermercados. El lugar lo lleva una pareja, apenas llegué el señor buscó un carro para que pueda dejar mis cosas y las llevó a mi habitación mientras hacía el proceso de check-in con la señora. La habitación fue ideal para pasar mis últimos días en Tokio, buen tamaño, limpia y cómoda. Contaba con televisión y hervidor, té y café. Junto a la recepción hay un pequeño mueble con papel higiénico, pañuelos, cepillo de diente y otras cosas que se podrían necesitar durante la estadía. Si te gusta caminar, puedes llegar a la Universidad de Tokio, donde se encuentra una estatua del famoso Hachiko junto a su dueño. Los alrededores del Ryokan también son muy bonitos. Cuentan también con un servicio de envío de equipaje al aeropuerto de Narita, eso sí el envío se hace el día anterior al día del vuelo. Si bien no hice uso de este servicio, me pareció genial, sobre todo si se está viajando con harto equipaje.

It's a quiet yet bustling street where it is located. The owners speak/understand at a level that it ease conversation.

A sweet Japanese style in Taito right near the Yanaka district. Easy access to buses and the subway. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast at Coffee Chi-zu right across the street. We’d stay here again.

The bathroom is has a step which can be tricky if one gets up at night 🙂

Japanese-style room with lots of shelves so we could unpack and stay organized. Location was perfect, very near Sendagi Station made it easy to get all over Tokyo. Street has lots of interesting restaurants and coffee shops, but is still pretty chill compared to a lot of Tokyo. Owners were friendly and helpful, laundry machines by the front desk worked well and the owner supplies the soap.

Ein schönes japanisches Zimmer mit modernen Einrichtungen wie Doppelverglasung, Sonnenrollo und Insektengitter vor dem mit Blüten geprägten Papanpapierfenster, Fernbedienung für das Deckenlicht.

Es gab in der Lobby eine Waage für die Koffr, leider aber keine Mikrowelle.

Our favourite place to stay in tokyo. Love Yanaka area, convenient to Sendagi subway and Nippori station. Comfortable rooms, friendly owners.

Only issue was a very loud toilet noise when flushed.

離地鐵很近，走路一分鐘就有超市和便利商店，房間以東京來說空間算蠻大的。

浴室洗澡的水溫很難調整，吹風機風量比較小一點，長髮注意。 親子客可能要注意，我當初選一大一小也有選擇小孩年齡5歲，booking上面寫的是小孩免費入住(單人床墊)，抵達時老闆娘卻跟我說通常免費的是指小寶寶，這麼大通常是要費用(不確定是不是說一定要加床的意思)，雖然最後沒有多少錢我也沒有加床，但感覺不是很好。

We had a very pleasant stay here at the Annex Katsutaro Ryokan. The location is excellent, just 4 minutes from Sendagi Metro and 10 minutes from Nippori Station. The staff were lovely and the size of the room was very good.

Los dueños son muy amables y te ayudan en todo lo que puedas necesitar. La ubicación es muy buena: está en un barrio relativamente tranquilo y está bien comunicado a través de la estación de JR de Nippori y de la estación de metro de Sendagi, que permiten llegar a cualquier zona de Tokio con relativa rapidez. La habitación, con tatami y futón, está bien de tamaño para los estándares de Tokio y es bastante agradable. La limpieza es impecable.

El estor de la ventana de la habitación no bloquea lo suficiente la entrada de luz, por lo que en cuanto amanece entra bastante luz, aunque esto es habitual en habitaciones de estilo tradicional japonés. El grifo de la bañera tiene mandos independientes para el agua caliente y el agua fría, por lo que es un poco incómodo ajustar la temperatura del agua.
