Baan Duangkaew Resort

My second visit and it was just as wonderful as I remember it. Kay and her team do a fabulous job of ensuring everyone is catered for. The location is superb because it is a few steps away from the markets, and the beach. 2 mins walk to the main road to get the green bus or tuk tuk to Takiab beach or the shopping malls / restaurants in the opposite direction. Breakfast every morning at the cabin is delightful. And the renovated pool is a wonderful upgrade.

Vi er godt klar over, at dette ikke er et super fancy luksusresort, hvor tjenere går rundt i hvide skjorter og opvarter dig fra morgen til aften. Men min kone og jeg er også helt almindelige mennesker, og vi vurderer et sted ud fra, om vi føler os godt tilpas, om der er rent og pænt, og om vi får en god oplevelse. Og det har vi virkelig fået her. Resortet består af kun 11 bungalows, som ligger rundt om en rigtig lækker og meget ren pool. Hver bungalow har sin egen terrasse med to solsenge. Vores bungalow var stor, ren og pæn, med en kæmpestor seng, og selv om resortet har nogle år på bagen, føles det på ingen måde slidt. Noget af det, vi virkelig har nydt, er morgenmaden. Dagen før vælger man selv, hvad man vil have, og hvornår man vil have det serveret på sin egen terrasse. Nogle vil måske synes, den er lidt simpel, men for os har den været helt perfekt. Den tropiske have og hele området er virkelig hyggeligt og flot holdt, personalet er meget venligt, og der er en dejlig rolig og afslappet stemning.

Det eneste lille minus, vi kan komme i tanke om, er, at airconditionen larmer en smule. Resortet ligger også mellem Tamarind Market og Cicada Market, så man kan høre lidt musik i weekenden, men det stopper omkring kl. 23 og har ikke været et problem for os.

Fint resort, var der kort en overnatning, sen ankomst og tidlig afgang. Men det har god beliggenhed, fint mad marked lige ved siden af, så et sted vi besøger igen

Aussergewöhnliches reichhaltiges Frühstück, das am Vortag jeweils selber zusammengestellt werden kann und dann zur gewünschten Zeit auf der eigenen Terrasse serviert wird. Wunderschön bepflanzte Anlage die Abends schön beleuchtet ist. Eigene Liegen am Pool mit Badetüchern. Auch Bademäntel, Flip Flops und Regenschirme stehen in der Unterkunft bereit. Sehr hilfsbereites freundliches Personal. Cicada Market, gleich nebenan, ist jeweils Freitag Samstag und Sonntags geöffnett, und ist auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert. Alles war zu unserer besten Zufriedenheit.

Een heerlijk kleinschalig en rustig bungalow-complex. Op wandelafstand van de zee. Mooie bungalows. Superfijn zwembad. Heel sympathieke uitbaters en personeel. Het ontbijt wordt aan je bungalow geleverd. Elke dag kan je kiezen wat je qua ontbijt wenst te ontvangen. Naast het logies ligt de avondmarkt. Tot 23u hoor je muziek van de markt, maar ons stoorde dit helemaal niet

Ruhige und zentrale Lage. Alles sehr gepflegt und gemütlich. Personal sehr freundlich und der Pool war sehr schön.

Das Frühstück war nicht so toll. Kein Buffet, sondern per Vorabbestellung am Vortag. Folglich war es auch überschaubar. Wir mussten für eine Extrabettdecke für unsere Tochter 300 Baht zahlen. Sonst hätte sie mit uns eine nutzen müssen. Das kennt man aus anderen Hotels nicht.

Alle Villen mit direktem Pool-Zugang, alles sehr sauber. Nur ca 80 Meter zum riesigen Nachtmarkt mit vielen kulinarischen Angeboten. Highlight ist das sehr reichliche Frühstück jeden Tag auf der eigenen Terrasse serviert. Sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal.

If I have to really be honest the only thing I didn’t like was the noise from the staff next to my room , I was next to the storage room and restaurant, room 201 , it woke me up a few times but my overall stay was great

Die Bungalows sind hübsch renoviert (soft), bequeme Betten, sehr gut funktionierende Klimaanlagen. Klasse waren die eigenen Liegen direkt am Pool mit eigenem Einstieg… Der Pool war überhaupt sehr schön und gepflegt. Die Atmosphäre in der Anlage war sehr relaxt und angenehm. Die Lage des Hotels ist super, man hat alles, was man braucht, in Laufnähe. Frühstück wird auf der Terrasse serviert, das fanden wir auch sehr entspannt…

Eigentlich war für uns alles top und wir wollen auch wiederkommen aber: Es gibt nicht wirklich einen alternativen Frühstücksplatz, sollte es regnen oder die Sonne schon zu stark sein, weiß man nicht, wo man sein Frühstück genießen kann…wir saßen dann mehrfach am Pool, auf unseren Liegen und hatten den Teller auf den Knien, das geht aber „bequem“ ist anders. Die Möbel auf der Terrasse sollten auch mal abgewischt werden…

The room was great with clearly lots of thought gone into it, although the 4th bed was very short there was enough space for 4. We all loved the pool and how the room opened to it. The breakfast was great. Short walk to the beach and night markets.

Not much, it's enclosed and surrounded by development but a perfect spot to stop on our travels.

Staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much effort. Breakfasts were great with lots of options. Was really great having it delivered to your room. The pool was very welcoming and a lovely size. Location was central to local markets and restaurants were handy. Also plenty of places to get a massage if you wanted to, manicures etc. We would definitely come back here if we were staying in Hua Hin again.

Bathroom was a bit tired and could do with some upgrading.

Пляж в 2 минутах ходьбы. При отеле есть также французский ресторан

We had a fabulous stay at Baan Duangkaew. Everything was fabulous, from the private villa style accommodation, to the friendly staff, great location, fantastic pool etc. The breakfast was amazing….loved every minute of our stay..we stayed 14 days..

The property was located in a side street close to Cicada and Tamarind markets. The pool was lovely and peaceful and each room had direct pool access with allocated sun loungers. The staff were super helpful and friendly.

Just had to make sure you collected your breakfast from the balcony so the birds didn’t get to it.

We loved our stay. We took 2 of the huts. One for us and a twin one for our boys. The breakfast is brought on a tray in the morning to your balcony and is all wrapped up and beautiful. The pool is fantastic, the design of it is very clever and each room has its own seating area in front of the pool. The property is surrounded by high rises so its quite refreshing to be in a more traditional property. We were there at the weekend and the music from the market is no problem as its finished by 11pm. Its actually nice to sit on your balcony and listen to it.

Hidden oasis. Large villa poolside. Breakfast is served on your veranda, what you want, when you want it. Private and quiet. Next door to a very good weekend market.

I like the greenery and the accessibility to the pool from your room. I celebrated my birthday there and didn’t tell any of the staffs. But they surprised me with a bday cake and singing happy birthday because they saw it in booking platform. I was so delighter. On top of that our stay was absolute best, they helped us with all our needs, very kind and the breakfast were all superb! Couldn’t recommend more enough.

The location of the property being so close to the markets was ideal and a quieter part of town. Lots of great food and beach close by.

Très bon hôtel. Grande chambre donnant sur la piscine avec vos propres transats. Quartier calme sauf le week end avec le marché de cicada, situé derrière l hôtel avec un concert jusqu’à 22h ( bonne musique). Parking gratuit et marché de cicada et tamarin ouverts que le week end. Je recommande vivement cette établissement.

C'est notre deuxième séjour dans cet hôtel et nous avons découvert la version réduite de moitié mais le charme est toujours là ! Prendre son petit dejeuner sur la terrasse de son bungalow tout en bois face à la piscine dans laquelle on vient de plonger une tête, quel bonheur ! Le personnel est très attentif et souriant, le cadre splendide. Et à proximité immédiate le Tamarin market ainsi que le Cicada market, deux must de Hua Hon. On recommande sans modération ...

We loved having our own little chalet and access to the deck and pool throughout our stay. The gardens are lush and well kept with a huge variety of flora and fauna. It’s a relaxing easy place to spend time.

I guess the construction noise was a bit of an inconvenience but it didn’t start until after 9:00 am and wasn’t continuous. I think the manager has been working with the construction team on adjacent property to minimise the impact.

We were here in February and enjoyed the accommodation and location so much we decided to come back again! The lush gardens, clean pool with spots to chill and a bit of shade make this a gorgeous place to unwind!

Baan Duangkaew resort exceeded my expectations. Location, breakfast, staff, and the villa were exceptional.

We recently stayed at Bann Duangkaew Resort for 10 nights. The resort is what I would describe as a boutique property, with only 11 rooms in total, which gives it a quiet and intimate feel. Location: The location is excellent. There are two local markets nearby, the beach is only about 300 metres away, and the main town area is less than a kilometre away. The Cicada Market is literally just over the side fence, which is very convenient. Positives: I would like to highlight the parking/security gentleman – his customer service was excellent, and he was always polite and professional. The housekeeping team also did a very good job, and we had no issues with room cleanliness or servicing. Conclusion: Overall, while the location and some staff were great, the lack of flexibility and customer-focused service means we would not choose to stay at Bann Duangkaew Resort again.

What we didn’t like: While the proximity to Cicada Market is great, it does come with a downside. On the three nights it operates, there is very loud music playing until around 11pm, which can be quite disruptive. We also had an issue with customer service upon departure. We had stayed for 10 nights – longer than any other guests during our stay, as most seemed to stay only 2–5 nights. We requested a late checkout of just one extra hour (1pm instead of 12pm), but were charged 500 baht. This felt unreasonable, especially given our length of stay and the fact that there were five vacant rooms on the day we left. "The fact that there were so many vacant rooms out of only 11 speaks for itself." The issue wasn’t the cost itself (approximately AU$25), but rather the principle. It did not give us the impression that the resort values loyal or longer-term guests, nor that they are focused on encouraging repeat business. For comparison, we are repeat travellers who have stayed multiple times at other resorts, such as The Haven Khao Lak (3 times) and Merlin Beach Resort in Phuket (4 times), where customer service has been far more accommodating.

Location is terrific especially opportunity to walk. Rooms are great and personal and pool is the best. Staff always friendly and accommodating.

A little oasis in Hua hin. We loved the breakfast which gets delivered to the room and the size of this resort. There are just the Bungalows around the pool and no more guests. So there is a very relaxed vibe.

The cicada market is next door which is great! But the music is loud until about 10.30 in our experience. It was fine but possibly something to consider. (Market is only open weekends)

It was not our first hiliday in this resort. We like to come back. Everythings nice, clean and always friendly and helpful staff. For person who like to enjoy and relax is this a very good place near the beach.

Přesně ten tip ubytování, kde jste spokojeni od příjezdu až po odjezd. Ubytování jsem nakonec prodloužili, i když jsme měli původně jiné plány, tak moc se nám zde líbilo. Nádherný čistý velký bazén. Výborné snídaně na terase u apartmánu, pozorný personál, dobré ovocné džusy. Parkování před hotel i pro osobní auta. Kousek od hotelu nádherná pláž.

Det er et fantastisk sted at holde ferie, personalet er søde, venlige og hjælpsomme. Der er rent. Elsker at få morgenmaden serveret på vores terrasse og starte dagen stille og roligt, samt nyde alle den flotte flora. Dejligt at have sine egne solstole, lige ned til poolen og spa’en.

Jeg savnede nogle gelændere ved poolen, det var vanskeligt at komme i vandet når man nu har kunstige knæ. Håber det er bragt i orden til næste gang.

Pour ma part cet établissement correspondait absolument à mes attentes, c'est très paisible et verdoyant, la piscine et superbe, petit déjeuner avec le chant des oiseaux, personnel d'une très grande gentillesse.

Pour moi il n'y a rien que je n'ai pas apprécié, juste une remarque pour la piscine, mon ami et légèrement handicapé et ce serai bien d'installer une barrière pour rentrer et sortir de la piscine.

De rust, het ontzettend leuke zwembad. Je stapt uit je cottage zo het zwembad in. De cottages zijn ruim met een comfortabel bed. Het ontbijt werd iedere morgen op het gewenste uur op je terrasje afgeleverd. Alles was picco bello! Het hotel ligt op een 200m van het strand en 5’ met de taxi van het centrum.

1 minpuntje, het tafeltje op het terras was te laag. We geraakten er niet met onze benen onder 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Vi fik desværre en hytte i hjørnet med meget lidt sol. Morgenmaden var ikke på niveau med forventningerne. Man skulle ringe efter mere kaffe og andet. Det er var i orden. Meget støj fra nabo.

Supervriendelijk personeel, ze bieden zeer goede service aan o.a. bellen een taxi indien gewenst... dichtbij 7 eleven shop, dichtbij 2 grote streetfoodmarkets en accesoires en live muziek ( vrijdag, zaterdag, zondag) , op loopafstand van de zee, veel massagesalons in de buurt...2 gtote shoppingcentra's op 3 a 4 km...kamers werden dagelijks schoongemaakt, nieuwe handdoeken,...dag ervoor bestel je het ontbijt en je mag zoveel bestellen als je wilt...

Lichtinval kamer waardoor je vroeg wakker wordt en renovatiewerken bezig , het domein erlangs, dus echt relaxen zwembad was niet van toepassing... veel insecten, muggen...

Nice quaint place, clean and cozy! My family was able to all book together so it felt like a little village. Close enough to reach out to your neighbor but also far away enough to have privacy. rNot to mention the staff was so nice and helpful.

The staff could not do enough for you and we're all very friendly and polite. Traditional Thai accommodation in the heart of Hua Hin with everything you could need on the doorstep. Breakfast delivered to your room in the morning is a lovely touch.

La gentillesse du personnel, près de la plage, du marché nocturne street food tout à 2 minutes à pieds. Les chambres sont hyper bien équipé, il y a tout offert dans la salle de bain même un spray anti moustique ( il n’y en a pas besoin aucun moustique). Le balcon où nous avons tous les matins le petit déjeuner et la piscine avec transats privées par bungalow. Vraiment PARFAIT. Merci beaucoup pour ce séjour♥️.

Staying here was probably the best part of my Thailand trip. Very cozy rooms, comfy beds, the pool area is wonderfully surrounded by green and the sound of birds. Decent amount of vegetarian options (not so much vegan, though), very good coffee and fresh orange juice, and it's such a luxury having it brought to your balcony at your chosen time. Kind staff, even if communication in English wasn't exactly easy (about the same everywhere else I went though in Thailand). They helped arrange a transfer to Bangkok which was competitively priced and reliable. As many have pointed out, it's right next to the bustling Cicada and Tamarind markets, which is great to find food and entertainment, not so great if you want to get an early bed (*supposedly* they close at 11pm), so this may be a blessing or a curse or both depending on your attitude.

A little more variation in the breakfast fruits would be nice (it was ananas and watermelon every day), as would more vegan options, especially for warm food (there was none). Not related to the hotel at all (and doesn't influence my rating either), but the beaches in Hua Hin were rather disappointing - a green soup with strong seaweed and fish smell, I was not at all encouraged to go in and it was rare to spot anyone else swimming. Maybe we were very unlucky with plankton bloom...

Attention ne pas venir à Hua Hin pour les plages qui ne sont pas jolies, la mer assez trouble. Il s’agit plutôt d’une étape pas d’un séjour balnéaire.

Your breakfast choice is wide and covers all Western essentials. I would love to also have a Thai rice noodle soup or so as an option.

The STAFF!!! Each and everyone was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and it was obvious they genuinely enjoyed their job A special mention for the evening security guard and all 3 FOH staff they made our staff 👌🏻. The setting is perfect for night markets Khao Takiab and Hua Hin beach plus more. Each bungalow has their own seating area, shallow pool section and sun beds Breakfast was beautifully presented, prepared with care and so fresh as well as tasting lovely excellent choice and flexibility with ordering.

There is some noise from nearby construction and traffic to beach front hotels can be heard from time to time. This didn't spoil any of our stay
