Guangzhou Pearl River International Hotel （Yijing Lu Metro Station）

Highly recommended :)

Thank you for making our experience a memorable one :)

Everything was how I expected it to be, shower was good, staff were very helpful, they supplied a free bus to and from the Canton Fair, which I was there to attend, next year I will stay there again

Good

Just inside airpot.easy to do something

Hot water supply was not stable.

All is good. Comfortable.

Big room and clean Little far from town Breakfast is ok but not well

Die Betten sind knüppelhart.

Hotel is comfortable the breakfast is fine but the location is a off the beaten path. the traffic is heavy because they are building the railway nearby . You need to take the local bus which is crowded or a taxi which is had to come by. Wifi is pretty bad

Business hotel, comfortable and reasonable price

Whole hotel can smell smoking even the room be upgraded.

Staff are friendly Rooms are spacious Carpet is very dirty

I like the front of the hotel is calm, easy for taxi parking. I don't like hotel room cloths: pillow covers, bed sheet cover. comforter smelt smoke! Carpet are stained! Floor is not swift well!

Miy bueno!..

So so not in a convenience area. Hotel facility not so good , breakfast not varieties

Location great Amenities average. No room service/restaurant on Monday. Wouldn’t change Aus dollars.

very friendly and professional staff . in particular in the reception where they speak english - franco helped me with a lost bag etc, thanks a lot.

This hotel very bad and not clean and they don't speak English only few people can understand what we want They give me room and floor no smoking but all room was smoking Wi-Fi its very slow .breakfast so bad .I stay on this hotel only because his very close to fabric market.

Hotel is in a deserted shopping mall and in an industrial are, no small restaurants or no small shops VERY INDUSTRIAL and nothing around, looks like a building site

The hotel was spacious and clean the staff were ok but their English was bad

The room is nice, modern and comfortable like Chinese hotels can be. Same for the bathroom. The cleanliness of the room could do with improvements. Dirty carpet. The worse is the mould in the sink. Wide cm’s of it. The room feels a bit smokey and stuffy. Ordered a plain pasta tomato sauce for room service. The sauce tasted and looked like it came out of a can.

Very nice experience, wonderful personnel and very warm attention.

First of all when I tried to check in, it was a nightmare as no one spoke a word of English. Then upon reaching the room, it was full of cigarette smoke smell. Did not bother changing room due to language barrier. Finally at the end of my trip I had kept a day free for me to catch up on emails and write reports etc. That day the internet went down. When I asked them they kept on saying it is telecom provider issue but then the internet a cafe next door was fine. I sat at the cafe next doors almost 6 hours to do my work. Late in the evening they realised that the problem was in-house and it was fixed in 5 mins. Would not recommend to anyone.

Located in the middle of the Textile market, Nice rooms, good rate, lobby and restaurant without AC and it was very hot.

The hotel is good and has bus to Canton Fair. The only bad is the gym not inside the hotel. Has to walk quite a distance and difficult to locate.

Smoking everywhere even rooms smells of smoke. I couldnt sleep all night.

Had stayed here this month with my cousin for a Canton Fair Visit..Located in Haizhu district near a small river..Rooms are huge , comparatively to the rates they charge..I liked its Free Canton Shuttle service for Buyers every morning from 8.30 to 9.30 and from 5.30 to 6.30 back home..Service is average..Pacific coffee outlet is in just outside the hotel for a good morning refreshments..Bathrooms are clean and swanky..Just bit of a language issue as staff dont necessarily understand proper English..Spa was good and very very economical..Good views can be seen from higher floors..

The Hotel is comfortable and rooms are very large. Friendly service. Location is not so near to shopping, restaurants..so be prepared to travel about 15 mins by taxi, which is easily accessible and costs about 15-20 RMB. Breakfast is just ok and needs to cater more for Western guests as that seems to be about 50 % of their market. If you are a non smoker try to ensure that you get a non-smoking room (if possible).. Stipulate it !

Overall is very good.

Ok

Where do I start? We chose this place as we didn’t have much choice as we attended both phase 1 and phase 2 of the Canton Fair. This place was our hotel for week 2. The hotel has nothing remotely close to it, nothing but people shuffling textiles day and night on motorbikes, trikes, small trucks etc. we wanted to find something to eat the night we got there and walked around the hotel and streets, we were way out of place. They don’t have a little store, it’s abandoned and used as storage space and clutter now. The place wreaked of smoke, the carpets are old and soiled, chandeliers are dusty and grimy. The people are unfriendly, internet (only WiFi) is very poor and slow speeds. Kept getting disconnected and there is no hardwired Ethernet capabilities. It’s attached to what appears to be an abandoned mall with just a few places still operating out of it. The beds are hard as hell, the filth is bad (just look at the pics). The safe in the room wasn’t even bolted down, meaning someone could actually pick it up and walk out with it. The pool was not open, the bathrooms had mold in the shower, toilet and sink.... They provide (for a fee sex toys and condoms, oils etc and yet on their cover page in their own book they welcome you but warn you of scams, prostitution etc right on their own welcome to our hotel page. The breakfast is horrible they can’t even give it away! We were hungry but chose to take a long drive to eat in better hotels by the Fair. Seriously, how in the world does this place have the reviews it does is beyond me. Please look at the pics and decide for yourself.

Horrible service and location is also troublesome. Only good thing about the hotel is the room.

Second time I've stayed. Staff very helpful and good English.

Nothing around even supermarket

The hotel is located in the fabric district far from the main city. The breakfast does not cater much for western tastes amd is generally of a poor quality. The rooms are huge. Staff can't communicate in English.

I traveled to Guangzhou for few days to attend fabric market. Location is convenient, not far from the market. Room was large but carpet needs cleaning as well as the bathroom that was showing signs of the mold. Restaurant inside of the hotel is terrible. Breakfast is important when you travel, I only tried onece and never went back. Food is old, cold, not many food options, coffee is terrible. I ended up having granola bars that I brought as a back up from USA with coffee in my room. Coffee shop next door is not open till later in a day. Restaurant connected to the same building on a 6th floor- Guangzhou was good option for dinner. Not sure if I come back again.

I was not sure about the place, but found it great 👌 We booked this hotel during The Canton Fair and our stay was comfortable. The view from the room was superb👌 You could actually look at the Canton Tower from the room👌 My review is 4 stars🙌

I love it

Overall was good

For what was paid, the room was large enough, clean and nice enough to enjoy our small break. Area was not busy which was probably because of Chinese New Year.

The hotel itself is wonderful with spacious and clean guest room, EXCELLENT breakfast, and friendly staff members. The surrounding area does not have many restaurants, is far from shopping area, bus lines, and subway entrances. Overall, it was a very good stay. I had no complaints about the hotel. But next time I will pick a hotel in a busier area of the city.

Hello. I stay there 3 Times during Canton Fair. Rooms standard is very good for this money. Wifi good, Breakfast very good. Free shuttle bus during fair. Reason why I gave very good not perfect is: Staff don't speak good English, location - there is nothing to do around hotel

Comfortable

I liked this hotel for my needs- visiting the fabric market, I will be staying here again. its around a 3.5-4 star hotel. I took a taxi 250 RMB (aprox AUD $50) from the airport. They bell boy took my bag to reception on the 6 level. The room was big, views as far as the eye could see, level 15. The room was clean, big and provided all the bits n pieces. Wifi was poor. The breakfast was more on the china side, eggs, rice soup, dumplings, vegetables, mixed cakes, rice bubbles, bran, corn flakes. I still enjoyed it- bring some jam, vegimite for great toast. I also brought my own milk and coffee from home. The front desk has limited english, but enough to get through the stay. The bell boy can organise a taxi or bike for you in the foyer. The location: the major fabric market is a 15 minute walk- through back fun lane ways or a 3 minute ride on a bike (aprox 10 rmb, AUD$2) The metro is aprox 10 min bike ride or 25 min walk away. I traveled with my 2 year old daughter and felt very safe all the time. Food, I ate off the streets- rockmelon for 20 cents, rice and 3 side dishes for $3 and brought drains of small street stalls.

The hotel is located in the main textile market area. If you like textiles or work in this field, you are in the right place. The front desk of the hotel is on the sixth floor. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast had a wide variety of foods. They try hard to please the guests. I overheard one of the chefs talked to the manager saying “You said the guests like this dish, I made sure I made enough.” I was curious. I went over to take a look to see what kind of dish the guests like. It was stir fried green beans. If I was not so full, I would try some for sure. The down side is that there are not many restaurants around there to choose from and not close to downtown Guangzhou. Happy Travelling!

Hotel was fine but Beds were hard as a rock and the shower has limited water pressure. A bit noisy with the construction site outside

Amenities come with the price, but were good. Good buffet breakfast with good choice. Front desk doesn't have a proper Q system and if we wait behind the line, someone else walks through and goes behind the person being served. Front desk persons although very professional and pleasant are hesitant to serve non-Chinese customers and avoid facial contact to summon us even if all 4 counter staff are free. Perhaps its a comfort lever in language issue. All the bell boys, cleaning crew and other staff are extremely courteous and greeting everyone all the time. OVERALL a good hotel.

First appearances give you the impression of a nice, older style hotel - look - its comfortable - its nowhere near anything exciting except if you go by car. I stayed for the Canton Fair - and they advertised a 198RMB buffet from 15/4 - 3/5 - oh, but then decided they don't do it. I pushed the flyer under their nose, but they just don't get it. I had an electrical fault in my room - the bedside reading light actually gave me a shock twice when I accidentally touched it - oh, yeah - we'll send someone in a day to fix it. And the final straw was in checking out - I had tea and a broken cup added to my bill (15RMB each - not much - but its the principle) - I challenged them and said I most certainly had not used the tea (who charges for tea in your room anyway?) and I had definitely NOT broken a cup - but they just had stupid blank looks - and I couldn't be bothered waiting any more. So - not cheap - relatively comfortable - terrible service - and not a great locations (unless your attending Canton Fair - they did provide a shuttle bus - so plaudits for that) - buyer beware!!!

It is not a western hotel by any means. This hotel is a China hotel to meet the standards of Chinese people. The room was big but it wasn't clean. The bed was rock hard and the towels didn't dry you they moved the water around. I wont be back.

Stayed for 2 nights, then moved to another hotel and was happy. Poor service, the gym is small. The breakfast was like nothing to eat. There was mold in the shower, the carpet was dirty in the room. its absolutely obvious that you can find a much better place to stay in this area for this money. Would not recommend.

The local police came banging on my door at midnight demanding to see my passport, to verify I was the registered person in the room. I am told this is not unusual in China. I'll stay next time, at a more recognizable international brand hotel, where this kind of disturbance is less likely to happen.

Convenient for textile business. Very close to textile markets. Staff had limited English

WAS REALLY GOOD HOTEL EXCEPT FOR WI FI

I had high expextation for this hotel. But when I arrive, I dissapointed. Bellhop didnt help our bags. And reception ladies cant speak English very well. They make problem everything. If you want to taxi from hotel you have to wait maybe 20-25 mins. Location is very bad. Local people discommode you if you walk araund of hotel after 20,00. But, nevertheless rooms were clear.

During our stay, we found it extremely difficult to communicate with the staff. Our holiday was a nightmare! The staff could not help us due to language barrier. They humiliated us because of our COLOUR. After we checked out, the manager and her staff accused us for stealing the iPhone charger. They emberassed us in front of other guests. They finally found out that the charger was not given to us. I will never recommend this hotel to my ENEMY!

We bought a tour package from Los Angeles, Califirnia (USA) way in advance since October 2014. There were 16 family members that traveled from Sacramento & Los Angeles. We arrived at the hotel @ 11AM. The hotel is located in a textile district. What in the world the travel agency was thinking!!! This is not a hotel you would book for 16 family members on vacation! Especially no one at the hotel speaks English! Non of the rooms were available for us. First, the hotel staffs asked for a $100. deposit upfront per person when no rooms were available. We never heard of a $100 deposit of my entire life as a world traveler. Then we found out that the staff speaks very little English or non at all! It was frustrating to try to communicate to the hotel staffs. Half of our family members finally went to their rooms after 1 1/2 hour wait. While the other half of the family still tired from a long flight are waiting in the lobby; then all of a sudden we heard other tourist yelling in CHINESE at the hotel staffs that their rooms were not available and that the hotel is not convenient for tourist. The lobby was like a yelling match! This went on for more than a couple of hours. It was like watching a Chinese soup opera at the hotel lobby with so many tourist complaining while we were waiting in the lobby until the rooms were available. We thought there was going to be CHINESE civil starting in the lobby. The rooms are okay & the lobby is on the 6th floor. There are no taxis at this hotel.

The staffs are very friendly and helpful. and the place is very clean

Very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable, not too far from main town Guangzhou. Macdonalds next door to hotel and other restaurants.

The hotel was nice, Staff was friendly, not many staff spoke English but they tried to help as much as they could. The area would have been good for anyone in the textile or fashion industries. But a little out of the way for a tourist.

Location: Biggest Drawback. inside Textile city. Not convenient for people not having business in this area. Do not even consider this hotel if on holiday or if your business interests are apart from Textiles. Transport: only means in Taxi, that too is not available from the hotel , have to call. Rooms: Good Breakfast: Good Service: average. English Speaking: Poor Spa: Average For Canton Fair Visitor: OK, if only attending fair and sleeping is concerned.

I can't say anything bad about this hotel. Some staff could not speak English but it's pretty normal in China. Will definitely stay in this hotel again in my next trip.

I rate the hotel a holy place for businessman like me who come to canton fair. Nice and a huge breakfast. Big rooms compared to other hotels in area for the same price. Neat property. Clean and safe. Has transport facilities to canton fair grounds. Must stay hotel.

I recomanded it to anyone Great service close to Guangzhou city where is the the nicest restaurant is . Loved it

it was good, but the location was not good.

For textile business travellers like me, the hotel was a perfect location, above one of the new textile markets. Good location, the main textile markets were just a short scooter ride away. 10 RMB for one way.

I have stayed here twice and like this hotel for its close location the the Fabric and Textile markets. The hotel is located in the middle of the markets and is about 15 minutes walk to the main Fabric and Accessories Centre. I have stayed at other hotels slightly further away and found it extremely difficult to get a taxi into or out of this area because of the insane market traffic. This place is ideal because you can walk or catch a crazy motorbike if you dare :) The rooms are a good size and nice and clean. The area is dead at night time and there are not many places to eat near by. The restaurant in the hotel has an ok western menu as well as other menus and there is a Mc Donalds next door if you get desperate. Most of the hotel staff have ok English although sometimes I struggled but no more than other places in China. Its about a hour to the GZ airport and maybe 20 mins in good traffic to the train station.

If you cannot speak Mandarin then this hotel is probably not for you. Staff find it difficult to communicate with English speaking customers. Food is predominantly Chinese with very little international selection. Lifts to the rooms are a nightmare. There are not enough lifts so it takes a long time to get from room to lobby or lobby to ground floor exit. Trying to get a Taxi back to the hotel is a nightmare as taxi drivers in general have not heard of the hotel or haven't a clue where it resides. On a positive note rooms are clean but that's all that can be said.
