Shangri-La Yangzhou

The Shangri-la yangzhou is an excellent choice for those considering a trip to the city. It provides excellent views and is a short 10 to 15 min walk to a shopping mall. The staff are friendly and approachable. Their staff Ivy was constantly checking in on us and if we had anything she could assist us with. She provided us with valuable assistance. Lounge food was excellent and had a wide variety as well. Even before our stay, the hotel reached out to ask for our preferences and if we had any food allergies. We felt extremely well taken care of during our time there and service was way beyond expectations. Would definitely recommend to anyone going on a trip to yangzhou.

Our stay at the Shangri-La Yangzhou was brief but comfortable overall. We occupied two rooms on the 12th floor, both offering pleasant views of the lake. As expected from the Shangri-La brand, the hotel was clean and well maintained, with spacious guest rooms, comfortable beds, and an indoor swimming pool that our daughter thoroughly enjoyed. Although we did not purchase the breakfast package, we dined at the hotel’s Michelin-recognized restaurant. We ordered the rainbow Tang Bao buns, traditional steamed buns, and several other dishes. While the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, the food unfortunately did not meet our expectations. The hotel’s location is convenient, with easy access to nearby shopping malls and the Yangzhou Art Museum. However, the property is beginning to show its age and would benefit from a renovation. The bathrooms, in particular, felt dated, with scratched fixtures and furnishings, while some closets and drawers were difficult to open and close. What truly stood out during our stay was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, who consistently provided warm and professional service. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but the hotel did not quite live up to the high standards we typically associate with the Shangri-La brand.

For any foreign travelers; and some domestic travelers who have traveled abroad, this place disappoints in many ways. 1. The hotel is quite old, tired, and in desperate need of renovation. This brand is normally very good, ownership should really correct this. 2. The WiFi is impossible to connect to as proper instructions are not communicated either by hotel staff or via their website. Small letters at the bottom of the page directs you to another page that requires your room number and last name; but the last name must not be more than 6 characters; not enough for me at least. 3. The hotel advertises non-smoking, but does not lift a finger to enforce this policy. This is a big problem for any non-smoker. You can’t walk into any lobby or restaurant restrooms without choking on the smoke. If they were to install detectors and fine violators a significant amount of smoke, this would stop. Regardless, this is a deal breaker and should not be tolerated by any guest. 4. Staff members would do well to be reminded about what hospitality really means. 5. Air conditioning in our room needed a repair person to come and fix; again, an indication of poor management.

good stay due to last 3 time complaining. now finally learning. breakfast buffet is good, bad is that no western restaurant available during the week, orders in room service very complicated, due to the lack of english speaking people , gym is best of all hotels i ever had stayed next mall 20 min by walking

Stayed in this hotel near the End-Of-Year period of 2025. Gym was great, a pity it only operates from 6am-11pm. The health club would be better if it operates beyond 11pm (24hours) as tourists will usually be out during the day. Even the concierge service closes at 11pm and the rest are covered by the front desk/duty managers. Hotel location was centrally located, close to a large shopping mall and has a view of the Mingyue lake as well. The hotel itself is also surrounded by a small lake, which adds to the charm of the hotel itself. Breakfast service: Spread was poor, slow refills, little to no attention by staff - understaffed Horizon lounge: severely understaffed, slow refills, limited space Hotel lobby/rooms: The hotel is branded as a non-smoking hotel, but we still faced a few instances where people are smoking in the restaurant/lobby up to their rooms. Even if it is a culture thing, the hotel, which is a 5 star hotel, could do better by having more staff to manage people and enforce stricter rules for such occurrences. Also, I faced an issue with the room and had reported it to the staff. The matter was addressed quickly and service recovery was performed as well. Thank you Ivy! In summary, the hotel itself is great, with exceptional service by the front desk/duty & floor managers, but is crippled by the very poor breakfast, lounge service as well as smoking instances we faced in the hotel itself. Would recommend to consider other properties if you are looking to stay in Yangzhou.

Was a quiet location, check in was easy, staff were friendly. However i ordered bolognese, they brought out spaghetti without the bolognese sauce, once i was done eating they brought out the bolognese sauce with the mince meat.... was quite an odd experience. I didnt know how to feel about my meal. Otherwise the stay was alright, probably the better hotel in yangzhou foreigner friendly.

Superb place to stay. Staff in club lounge and at reception were particularly helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel to anybody traveling to Yangzhou. Great rooms and facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean rooms and common areas.

I regularly stay in this hotel and would recommend it to anyone travelling in the region. The staff are very attentive and do their very best to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Mandy, Joyce and Lillian made our stay very enjoyable.

I stayed two nights and was really surprised about quite some features which should not be at all standard - at least not based on my last twenty plus years experience traveling in CN and Asia. I have never experienced tables in a Shangri-La lobby fully of cigarette butts not been cleaned for hours - the same was valid for the ash trays next to the elevators which at least have not been cleaned between my arrival and my departure (1.5 days). Service in the breakfast restaurant was also not high end - neither was the service in the gym. Maybe the hotel is overloaded or overwhelmed by tourist groups during that period in the year. As a business traveller, I would even not grant the hotel a Traders grade - it is really a put as so far I had many good experiences with Shangri-La Group all over China and in Singapore as well. Management may have to reassess the entire value proposition ...

Overall I enjoyed my stay. There were some events during the holiday season, and the restaurant was having a long line, but the food was great. There's a small garden at the back that you can take a short walk, which is really nice.

We had two wonderful nights at the Shangri-la Yangzhou. Especially, The staff at the horizon club were very kind and helpful which makes our stay memorable. Our room has a beautiful view of the Mingyue Lake and the swimming pool is nice and relaxing. I am born and raised in Yangzhou but after so many years abroad I come back a stranger. The warm hospitality really makes me home, in my hometown. Thank you so much! Very proud of you guys.

Over my few weeks in China, this was without a doubt my favourite hotel. I had a great view. The staff were truly professional. They happily extended my checkout a couple of hours at no cost to suit my travel plans. I will go out of my way to stay here in future.

Warn and nice staff from reception desk to Executive Lounge. Make my Christmas much nicer. Room service staff also nice and do whatever possible to make guest like home. People in this town in general are nice and friendly. I'm impressed by local people and city sights

Third time here and first time in shangri la - this is a great hotel with excellent facilities. I had the buffet on 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast is also very good - lots of choice and friendly staff wiling to assist at all times. Staff at the front desk are great. Many of them dual language speakers (English) so made it easy for me to communicate. I used the pool which was very clean and relatively quiet. They have lockers with towels and toiletries on hand - hairdryer and shampoo in changing rooms. Overall - I had an excellent experience and would return !

I was misleading with the previous review in this Shangri La, the reception staff was bad, I booked and paid for a room with lake view requested higher floor, but it end up the room was on the 9th floor. In China, all 5 stars hotels are strictly nonsmoking, but we found everywhere in the main lobby, the lift lobby and even inside the lift are with cigarette end?? I would never ever suggested anyone to choose for this hotel. I would never go again, I rather even prefer to stay at the Ramadan, Yangzhou.

It’s very good stay in the hotel. Very commercial and nice location beyond the moon lake. Good relax in the vip lounge. Kinds of food and best view. Happy to meet lovely waitress Mandy & Lisa. Help me a lot on the tourney plan and restaurant choose.

This is a beautiful property offered at a great value. Excellent and quiet location. Two minor observations: 1) Please check that all room electrical outlets are functional, and, better, equip them for international plugs as well. 2) The breakfast buffet is nice but dishes are often cold because they are not properly covered (lid). In any case, I will gladly return to the Shangri-La on my next visit to the very pleasant city of Yangzhou, Jiangsu.

nice hotel , near shopping mall . Breakfast is good

部屋清潔、広い、アメニティー揃っている。スタッフ英語はあまり通じないが、清掃員は愛想が良い。朝食、スタッフ愛想は無いが美味い。周辺にコンビニや店、マッサージ、観光など何もない、ホテル帰れば寝るだけの淋しい場所。

We were here to have a relaxing trip and yet again received a wonderful welcome and excellent service. Especially, we were treated with kindness and warmth by the club lounge staffs, Dora and Lucky. Thank you!

Average hotel. Rooms are a bit worn out, but still somehow acceptable. The Lobby bar is lacking most of the stuff displayed on the menu: No gin tonic, only limited beers, most of the red wines not available. A simple platter of sushi took over 30 min. Breakfast is average to ok. However, room rates are cheap. You get what you pay. Sorry to say that this property does not live up to the usually high standards of Shangri-La.

Stayed here for business and conference. Room was spacious, clean and bathroom was very good. Although I was close to lift there was limited noise heard from lift. Television as expected had limited English language programs. Restaurant offered a good selection of food and coffee was reasonable.

Services request at commercial office for additional color printing, Jessica as a service girl at 26 floor, she did a excellent job and completed all my request without any mistake. I gave her my appreciation. I hope I can see her next time when I come back to this hotel in Yangzhou again. Thank you Jessica.

不錯的一次入住體驗

Had business in Yangzhou so stayed at Shangri-La. great location for me to get to factories. The hotel is located in new development area and is fantastic. Great staff. Nicky Yao did great welcome on arrival and checked me in. Helped with Wifi as well thanks Nicky. Restaurant is tremendous but second floor restaurant is probably best for selection. I ate in longe bar and food great and seating comfortable. Used gym which is best equipped I’ve ever seen. Breakfast great thanks to Mark Ma and Erin Wu. Great selection of food. Coffee good. Room was very nice looking over city and lake. Bed very comfortable and bathroom huge. Plenty drinking water as well. And staff all good with English. Check was looked after by Edward Zhang who was great. If you need hotel in west Yangzhou then Shangri-La is great place to stay.

Nothing to complaint

stayed during the Oct long week holiday, we were told there's a family room which has a tent and also cartoon bedding. We didn't want the bedding but wanted a tent in our room, so we called the hotel to ask for the type of room we should book. The hotel told us to book a deluxe room which is big enough to fit a tent in for the little one. So they put it in for us for free. There was also doraemon balloons hanging on the wall in the room. My son loved it! didn't want to leave the room. breakfast was also excellent. Pool is also great, change room much cleaner than the Changzhou Shangri-La hotel. the hotel is located in the new district, so about 20min to the city center.. there's a park and shopping mall within walking distance so was good for us to go get Starbucks and for our son to run around in the park and play at the kids playground. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay, would recommend to others and def will go back again if we were to re-visit Yangzhou

This is an attractive hotel, but needs better service, better room design, and treatment to fit its cost. Paid extra to have an executive lounge room and got a very spacious room with a view. But the room design has many problems such as no plugs near the bed, a toilet in between the shower and sink (just great for privacy and smells), and 1 thin comforter for the freezing cold winter night. Executive lounge was nice, but had to wait 20 minutes for fried eggs (why no scrambled eggs were available is unclear) and day 2 there was no executive lounge breakfast so had to eat in the main dinning room which was not a pleasant experience given the overcrowding and noise. The location of the hotel is not great unless you want to go to the Yangzhou museum (but that's a 1/2 day affair at most) or a shopping mall (really?). Finally, the staff is apt, but not friendly and not attentive. The best part of the hotel was the exercise room, but that's not a reason to select a hotel!

Having been booked into this hotel by my Chinese contact, I wasn't sure what to expect. The hotel was impressive from the first moment of arrival until departure. The room was comfortable, but for my personal taste, I found the bed too soft. A smaller room than I usually enjoy in China with the normal accessories of a desk and lounge chair. The restaurant was enjoyable and the breakfast was also pleasant. Local area was pleasant and safe for walking each evening, and there is a nearby major shopping mall for anything that you may need. Price was towards the high end for similar accommodation standards nearby, and although the stay was comfortable, there was nothing exceptional to stop me looking for other hotels for future visits.

I had a great stay at this hotel except for one rather negative experience. I was assigned a room on a non-smoking floor, which reeked of cigarette smoke. The smell was so bad that I had to change my room after the first night. However, I have to say the staff were extremely accommodating and did whatever they could to address the issue. They not only changed my room, they even brought an air purifying machine to the new room to remove any smoke residues. Overall, a very good stay!

Stayed there 1 night only due to my customer has requested. The location is quite distance from main station that we plan to go. Room is big and comfortable but don't have any surprise and memorable feeling on this stay. Just like stay in any international chain hotel.

5星豪華飯店才建幾年設備房間都還算很新, 大堂房間都很大又豪華服務人員水準很高有禮貌客氣很不錯的飯店.

床小，早餐需另购还推荐行政楼层升级感受不是很好，若无车相对偏僻。感觉只适合自驾或商务。

The room is clean and tidy as usual, the service is great, food is fabulous. The hotel is located near then bus and train station; however, it’s a bit far for you to travel around. And it’s a bit hard to get on a cab.

ホテルライフを楽しむには良いが、観光、外食を目的とするのであれば不便。フィットネスセンターに関し、男性のところはサウナ、スチームバスがあるが、女性のところはサウナはなくスチームバスも壊れていて妻は不満であった。

サービスの質は全体的に高かったです。 日本語を理解できるスタッフを呼んでもらったのでチェックインもスムーズにできました。 朝食ビュッフェは洋食だけでなく地元揚州料理もあり、種類が多くおいしかったです。 周辺は博物館と、やや遠い所にショッピングセンターがあるようです。 また揚州に来たら泊まりたいです。

Staff at the hotel were good. Particularly the duty manager. Only negative was that even a non smoking room still smells of smoke a little! (I've come to expect this in China, but I generally find it revolting)

Actually it's a bad experience. During peak hour, it's about half hour to downtown. Hotel service is very rude, besides room is very small, even its already a luxury room. Never come back again.

Stayed there for business. There is no reason to be in that city except for business and I believe it to be best hotel in town. Service is so good it is almost obnoxious

Awesome hotel with superb conditions. Just that there is nothing much in the vicinity.

Very comfortable with good facilities especially the swimming pool, it was open 6 - 10 which meant I could still swim after returning from a busy work schedule and before heading off the next morning.
