Forced to take a family room with pool but actually not needed. Double room would have been enough but policies say different…

The food was absolutely fantastic — breakfast, lunch and dinner were all superb. Every mealtime was something to look forward to and truly felt like a treat. The property is beautifully maintained and constantly kept clean, giving the entire lodge a real luxury feel. We also loved the structure of the day: an early morning game drive, breakfast, some downtime, lunch, an afternoon game drive and then dinner. It created the perfect balance between activities and relaxation. The majority of the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful, which made a big difference, especially travelling with a young baby. A special mention to Lucky, Idah, Grace, Emma, Kealeboga and our ranger, Vincent, who all went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. It was my wife’s birthday and they sang to her before the morning game drive and arranged a cake at dinner which was really special and nice! Overall, a fantastic experience with great food, beautiful surroundings, excellent game drives and wonderful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return!

There were a few small areas that could be improved. We requested a cot to be set up well in advance and confirmed this again on arrival, so we were a little disappointed to find that it hadn’t been prepared, especially when baby needed a nap and we had to put him down in the bed and the cot wasn’t ready. The reception managers, particularly the ladies in the grey suits, were fantastic and very helpful. However, some (not all) of the staff behind the reception desk could be a little friendlier, or at least acknowledge guests with a greeting when walking past. It certainly didn’t impact our overall stay, but it was noticeable when compared to the warm service we experienced at Shepherds Tree earlier this year. Overall, these are relatively minor points, and didn’t detract from the stay at all, but addressing them would make an already great experience even better.

Amazing room. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they made us a fantastic surprise. Food was very nice. And last but not least the amazing staff ( Thato was extremely sweet)

After 6 game drives , as the park is relatively small, we found it to be repetitive. Guides were not really engaging and it seemed they were not interested. the only thing they cared about was the coffee stop , which at the end reduces the safari time from 3 hours to 2. The park is really busy and frequently we were stuck in traffic

O hotel é muito bom, o staff é extremamente simpatico e solicito, a comida era maravilhosa, os cuidados com os detalhes para agradar os hospedes foi algo que nos chamou a atenção! Providenciaram um bolo para comemorar o aniversário da minha filha, bem como fizeram uma decoração especial no quarto quando souberam que a viagem era em comemoração ao meu aniversario de casamento, deixando inclusive uma garrafa de espumante no nosso quarto! Uma menção especial vai para o nosso Ranger (infelizmente não lembro o nome dele) que foi muito atencioso e dedicado durante todos os game drives que fizemos. Voltaria com todo certeza! Indico muito o hotel!

O quarto que reservamos contava com uma área externa e uma pequena piscina, que a nossa filha amou. Logo na nossa 1a noite informei que havia um problema eletrico no quarto, uma vez que as luzes dessa área externa não esstavam funcionando. Na 1a noite colocaram uma iluminação temporária, com a promessa de que resolveriam a situação, contudo na noite seguinte o problema persistiu, inclusive todos os ar condicionados do quarto desligaram no meio da madrugada, acredito que, novamente, devido a um problema eletrico. Ressalto que o problema foi informado ao staff do hotel pelo menos 4 vezes durante nossa estadia, mas o problema não foi solucionado... Esse foi o unico ponto negativo, mas nada que desabonasse nossa hospedagem!! O hotel é sim maravilhoso!

**Een onvergetelijke safari-ervaring – wij komen zeker terug! ❤️** Wat hebben wij een fantastische tijd gehad bij Ivory Tree Lodge! Vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen, voelde het alsof we in een andere wereld terechtkwamen. De lodge ligt aan de rand van Pilanesberg National Park en heeft een eigen ingang naar het park. De ligging is echt prachtig. En het allerleukste: je kunt gewoon vanuit je kamer al wildlife voorbij zien komen. Hoe bijzonder is dat?! Ja, Ivory Tree Lodge is absoluut niet goedkoop. Maar eerlijk is eerlijk: voor ons was het **iedere cent meer dan waard**. Alles is inclusief en werkelijk alles is tot in de puntjes geregeld. Je hoeft nergens over na te denken en kunt je volledig onderdompelen in de safari-ervaring. Iedere dag maak je twee game drives van ongeveer drie uur. De ochtend begint met een warme drank en een kleine snack, waarna je op pad gaat met je ranger. Halverwege is er een pauze en daarna kom je terug voor een heerlijk en uitgebreid ontbijt. Vervolgens heb je lekker tijd voor jezelf om te ontspannen, te zwemmen of gewoon te genieten van de prachtige omgeving. Daarna volgt een heerlijke lunch, een gezellige high tea en dan is het alweer tijd voor de tweede game drive van de dag. Na afloop staat er een heerlijk diner klaar. Twee keer per week is er een echte **Afrikaanse Boma**: een sfeervol diner aan lange tafels, midden in de bijzondere sfeer van Afrika. Onze ranger zat dan gezellig bij ons en dat maakte het extra speciaal. En dan onze ranger… **Melvin!** Wat hebben wij een geluk gehad met hem. Hij heeft zóveel passie voor de dieren en doet werkelijk alles om zoveel mogelijk te zien. Je merkt aan alles hoeveel kennis hij heeft, maar vooral ook hoeveel plezier hij zelf beleeft aan het zoeken en spotten van de dieren. Hij is enthousiast, geduldig en ontzettend betrokken. Iedere game drive was daardoor weer een avontuur. Onze dochter van 7 is helemaal dol op hem geworden en mist hem nu al enorm. ❤️ Dat zegt eigenlijk alles.

Resort don't have much to do all day. Maybe hot summer you could swim in the pool but that is it. Game drive was nice but nothing spectacular. Over all it was just okay. 3 days were more than enough for me.

I am a vegan and my husband is a vegetarian. I was pleasantly surprised that each meal had tasty vegan and vegetarian options available. The only disappointing meal was dinner around the boma. There were few vegan options and when I asked the chef, he just pointed me to the pap, green beans and tomato gravy. When I went back to ask if there were more options, he then asked if he could make me something special, but it was too late. When my husband and I stayed at Shepard's Tree Lodge, the chef had prepared a special vegan meal and dessert for me, for dinner around the boma. I was expecting the same and surprised by the chef's attitude.

I didn't like the one chef who didn't cater for a vegan dinner around the boma especially because I informed the lodge well in advance that I was a vegan.

All of the staff was so nice, food was marvelous and we felt very clean and comfortable. They went above and beyond! We loved the nice touches in our room the celebrate our anniversary and the chef and staff always making sure everyone was pleased. The games drivers being in small vehicles was a huge plus!

We did not appreciate that soft drinks were not included in the stay. It is understandable to not have alcoholic drinks included, but not having even water included in our stay with our food was kind of annoying. Unfortunately too, there are apparently less animals in the park this year that we went, but no fault of the property itself.

We had arranged for a birthday cake on our last night, however the restaurant seemed very short-staffed and the staff seemed rather stressed and under pressure and the cake wasn’t brought out (and wasn’t acknowledged the following morning either).

My 3rd stay here and it just keeps getting better. Rosemary went over and beyond as always to ensure that everything was on point. Kealaboga, Bridgette & Omphile with exemplary service made it feel like home. There was a road closure heading into the lodge and Kagiso even tracked our location, calling us intermittently to help navigate us safely. Game drives were so rewarding with Vumile - very knowledgeable and entertaining! I would not hesitate to book this lodge again for a special escape to the Pilanesberg National Park. It's like every employee at Ivory Tree is on a mission to make guests their top priority, and this is what great hospitality is about. Wayyy too much food on the full board experience - curated menus with gourmet dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. It was our wedding anniversary and The staff made surevwe got treated extra special and arranged rose petals, a bottle of champagne, ran a bubble bath for us. The bed was also decorated with rose petals., we were blown away with this. It's these little things that will keep us coming back as well as tell our friends about this experience. We'll Done.

Excelente hospedagem. Local maravilhoso. Hotel bem equipado, quartos maravilhosos, com banheira e chuveiro externo, cama confortável. Muito bem equipado. Comida maravilhosa, tivemos ótimas refeições. As pessoas são muito educadas e simpáticas, nos sentimos muito bem recebidos por todos.

O local é lindo, aconchegante e os são funcionários excelentes.

O menu é bem sofisticado, não é para meu paladar que é mais básico, poderia ter opções mais simples. Carnes de caça, pato, gazela, não é para todo paladar. No dia que teve carne de bife normal com fritas foi o dia que comi melhor.

My family and I LOVED EVERYTHING about our stay!! The staff, the game drives and the amazing food. The facilities were top notch and our kids LOVED the room, hospitality and the atmosphere at Ivory Tree.

The game drives were amazing. The food was good. The staff set up a complimentary champagne and chocolates for our wedding anniversary which was a nice gesture. Rangers were knowledgeable and friendly.

The drinks are very expensive. The bath was leaking but was fixed when we reported it.

The ambience inside the villas could be improved with some better lighting and decorations. There was a lot of noise - lawn mower, repairs, the drums etc..OK for some people but if you want pure tranquility in the bush it’s not ideal. The restaurant service was at times disorganised. This could be improved.

We stayed at the family suite which is very spacious and has its own (heated) little pool as well as a quite big private patio area. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms spacious and well fitted too. The food is absolutely excellent, and the staff very nice.

Dinner starts a bit too late for families with small kids (19:30), we were there with an 18 month old and the evenings got a bit long for us. Kinds below 6 are not allowed on game drives, so there is not so much in terms of activities to keep them busy until then.

I liked everything in general, however I did not like or find it as I would expect. The Saturday night meal was disgusting beyond words. I do not come to you to have a braai especially one with duck and rabbit, which neither I have eaten or can eat. I was then given chicken, which was not chicken at all and tasted disgusting. Firstly, I can braai at home and do not need to pay your pricing to come and have a braai!!!! I have a very sensitive stomach and I did not appreciate that fact that it was braai with no alternatives. I come to you on a regular basis, because I find you food outstanding so this has really left a horrid taste with me and think I will now look at going to another lodge that does not do this to me when I pay good money, and NOT for a braai!!!!!!

I have stayed at this lodge at least 20 times, and it remarkably just keeps getting better. A major highlight of this property is the exceptional staff. I want to give a massive shout-out to Kagiso, who is hugely professional and supportive. She has a talent for making you feel 100% at home while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and outstading service. Can’t wait for stay number 21!

Das Resort ist wunderschön. Die Unterkunft war hübsch und das Personal ist extrem freundlich und umsorgt einen bestens. Das Essen ist super! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Game Drives waren grandios.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr, sehr teuer und man muss es sich leisten können. Vollpension heißt hier ohne Getränke, diese muss man noch zusätzlich einkalkulieren.

Tolle Familiensuite, die geräumig und sauber war. Wir hatten zwei Nächte gebucht und fanden auch das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Game Drives und unser Ranger waren jedoch das Highlight unseres Aufenthaltes. Wir haben wunderbare Eindrücke mitnehmen können und hatten wirklich Glück mit unserem Ranger Penyho.

Nach unserem Eintreffen hatten wir Mittagessen und wollten dann um 14:00 Uhr einchecken, da wir einen langen Tag hinter uns hatten und gerne noch etwas geschlafen hätten. Jedoch war unser Zimmer noch nicht fertig und wir könnten erst 45 Minuten später in unser Zimmer. Leider war eine Baustelle direkt zwei Bungalows neben uns. Die Bauarbeiten waren wirklich sehr laut und wir baten um ein neues Zimmer. Der Manager bat uns um einen Kompromiss, und versprach die Arbeiten auf die Zeiten zu beschränken, in denen wir auf unserem Game Drive waren. Diesem haben wir zugestimmt. Leider wurde dieses Versprechen nicht gehalten. Der Lärm war sehr störend und es war sehr ärgerlich, dass die getroffene Vereinbarung nicht eingehalten wurde. Mehrere Personen kamen auf uns zu, entschuldigten sich und redeten unheimlich viel. Dies hat uns nicht wirklich geholfen oder gefallen, da nie eine wirkliche Lösung angestrebt wurde. Wir hätten einfach gerne Ruhe gehabt und wären auch bereit gewesen in ein anderes Zimmer umzuziehen. Die Bums war ebenfalls in Renovierung und nicht benutzbar.

We loved everything about Ivory Tree! The game drives were excellent - we had some excellent sightings, and the game drive coffees in the morning and sundowners in the evening were lovely. Our ranger, Vincent, was very knowledgeable. The food was delicious and varied. We stayed in the luxury suite which had its own private patio and plunge pool. The suite was spacious for the 3 of us (2 adults and a 7 year old), with a massive comfy bed. We loved the small touches like the little bottle of sherry and small snacks that were replenished each day, along with plenty of bottled water being provided. Our son unfortunately had gastroenteritis on our second night (we don't know where he got it from, but we don't think he got it from the food), but the staff were so kind and helpful the next day, assisting us with room service so we could leave him to sleep in the morning, being flexible with housekeeping, changing all his bedding and towels, and about 10 different people asking him if he was okay later in the day. One of the new managers, Johannes, even went so far as to buy him a lovely bottle in the gift shop and fill it with juice, so he could have it on the evening game drive. This all added to the personal feel of our stay and made it special for our son.

The boma was unfortunately closed for renovations so we didn't get to experience that, but we look forward to doing so in future.

We liked spa services, they are great. Kitchen is good. Room 56 was all right. We enjoyed swimming pool and its surrondings.

We were dissapointed with number of guests. This can be important for people like us who prefer quiet please. If you want to go to Pilanesberg, Mbazo colection logde is much bettee. We have been to Black Rhino Reserve, it was amazing.there. Here is so many cars and when they spot lions, which has a collar, it can be 20 cars on that place. Terrible nigh mare. Our guide was not realy good driver and not a best guide either. He did not have a spot light in that car, I do not understand. We met amazing animals on the way back from afternoon game drive and we could not see it. Dinning. I was surprise when bottle with lunch and dinner cost 90 ZAR. So over all. Good choice for families, not a good choice for people prefer privacy.

Het personeel was erg vriendelijk. Het is een prachtige omgeving. We hadden een geweldige kamer met een mooi uitzicht. Er waren altijd golfkarretjes beschikbaar om je naar je kamer te brengen (omdat het best een eind lopen was). Het eten zelf was ook uitstekend, zoals je mag verwachten van een 5-sterrenaccommodatie. We waren er op een zaterdag, dus we hebben genoten van een speciale braai in de boma: heel leuk om mee te maken.

We zagen een verscheidenheid aan dieren, maar – misschien door het einde van de zomer – ze waren moeilijk te vinden en waren er niet altijd veel.

Our little pool was way too hot when we got here, our aircon also did not work that well . Drinks a little over priced for SA locals . Found the staff friendly , but often over attentive , but then also quite slow with service. I had to ask twice for swimming towels to be delivered to our room

The service was great on day 1. Melvin was an exceptional ranger.

The service on day 2 fell short. The lunch service was very busy so our order was delayed. We did not have a turn down service, they knocked at 8:30pm on our door but we were already in bed. The roof also had a leak. These are minor to our overall stay but i think these things can be improved.

Ottima posizione, praticamente accanto a uno dei cancelli del parco. Camere ampie e ben arredate (la nostra era una camera standard). Personale fantastico: gentile, sorridente, preparato, efficiente. Cibo gourmet davvero buonissimo. Lo consiglierei a tutti!

We were upgraded to a Luxury Suite with pool. It was so amazing. We had a Boma for dinner which was great to try all the local dishes & communal tables were very social. Staff were all approachable and couldn’t do more for everyone there. Bright our game driver was awesome!

STAY HERE!!! absolutely best trip - service and the staff are excellent… Property is gorgeous. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable…. Stayed in the standard room…. We’ve been came back to a surprise, one night set up by the staff for a honeymoon of roses, champagne, and chocolate!

Everything was perfect! From the delicious food to the pristine rooms, we felt so well taken care of. The game drives were pure magic thanks to our driver, Bright. He was so knowledgeable and made sure we understood everything we were seeing. The staff's constant smiles and helpfulness made the stay extra special.

The shower area felt a bit exposed due to the low exterior wall and glass door. Increasing the wall height would offer much better privacy for guests.

Waiters/ waitresses need to either be assigned a role or have their own tables. We were asked the same thing by at least 3 staff members each meal and it just appeared unorganized.

Everything . I was amazed by the vegetarian food options and that made my stay extraordinary. Thank you to the Head Chef and all the staff who are involved in bringing that food to the plate.

Lovely location … staff were amazing and the food was great every day .. such a selection to choose from all table served only buffet on the two special out door evenings . Safaris were great twice a day if you want to .. we had Jafta and Brite as our rangers . Good fun .. love the morning hot choc & Amarula .. and evening sun downers in the Park ! We saw all the big five .
