Valance old and falling apart. Inside kitchen cupboards a bit ordinary. Stove/Hotplate not good. For the price not really great. Cost more than a very well appointed room in Nelson!!

We had the disability room. Our friends had another room. Our room was very very old with dirty and broken things . The toilet roll and towel holders had the coating coming off and were broken. The glass shelf hung at an angle and couldn’t be used, our things slid off it. The lounge was very grubby. The kitchen area was grubby and the window ledge very dirty. It also had a very old musty smell. This place is in bad need of a complete renovation. Most fixtures were back from when it was built.

Vi fann många hårstrån i vår säng på underlakanet. När vi klagade på det dagen efter sa ägaren att han nog visste hur de hamnat där och att de kom från täcket. Som om det var en bra ursäkt !?!

Reviewed Mar 3, 2026The owner was efficient and quiet. He had put up our room number at the reception and we walked straight in though we had to pay on stay. We paid the charges later and registered our stay. He even called the taxi we wanted before that.
Only the flush got jammed at times, but we could manage somehow. It needs to be looked into in rom no. 9

Alles sehr schmuddelig. Möbel abgenutzt und verdreckt. Der Teppich müsste schon längst erneuert werden. Kühlschrank ließ sich nicht richtig schließen. Fazit: Renovierung dringend notwendig! Im Vergleich zu vielen anderen Motels war es hier viel zu teuer, wenn man das Zimmer sieht.

Very 1960's but clean and comfortable. Don't really think it was worth the money paid but was ok for the one night.

Room smelled terrible of mustiness and previous cooking. The smell was quite horrific. There were towels stuffed in the bottom of the windows for some reason. Unpleasant stay mainly due to the odors.

There was no air con or fan provided so it was really hot. Very little sleep was had over the 3x nites. Would have liked a 2nd bed but will remember to request this next time.

Main bedrooms door didn’t shut. Bathroom flooded. Dirty tissue in cutlery draw. Daughters bed had a bug in the pillow slip. Noodles on floor of kitchen.

I checked in past reception hours but someone appeared with the key but was obviously intoxicated. The room had a very musty smell about it. Most of the utensils had not been cleaned properly. The main lounge area had a double bed sat right in the middle of it even though the place had 2 bedrooms. The windows had towels placed on the ledge probably because they let rain in.

Reviewed Dec 3, 2025Easy to find, close to a takeaway if you didn't want to cook. Facilities suited our needs we were able to make dinner and enjoy a drink outside the room in nice outdoor seating. Clean and tidy, owner/manager was very helpful.
Close to railway and a noisy train woke us but it was only once during the night.

Reviewed Oct 30, 2025Nick was so helpful. Made us feel so welcome. We had a day we couldn't get there due to road closures. He offered to refund which we wouldn't take from a small local business owner. We had a small quirk which bedding arrangements and Nick popped our son n partner into their own unit. All included. They loved it so much they rebooked that unit for next year.

The bathroom had the smallest wash basin ever seen in a motel bathroom, the size of one to wash your hands after using a toilet. Also alarming that there was no working fire alarm, the base was there but someone may have stolen the top. ( We thought it was a legal requirement) But saying this the unit was clean and value for money.

Reviewed Sep 28, 2025Friendly staff and easy checkin. Clean room, all facilities I needed for weekend stay. Some of the facilities were a bit 'tired' looking. But everything was clean. Bathroom and shower had been refreshed and were clean and functional. A bit of road noise overnight as motel is right on the main highway. Parking outside room. Close to restaurants, easy access to Greymouth and beyond.
Provided great value for money for my stay in Greymouth. Nothing to dislike for the value provided.
