Very willing to help us see the best points of interest in the short time frame we had. The only inconvenience we found was the stairs. I have extremely bad hips. The owner graciously helped my husband out. Please note: this is not a complaint.

Es war etwas warm im Dachgeschoss. Waren halt sehr warme Tage, glücklicherweise war das Zimmer mit einem Ventilator ausgestattet.

The residents lounge was comfortable and welcoming, with an honesty bar with good prices and some excellent free homemade cake 😋. It had to be tested in the name of research! The rooms were well equipped, clean and comfortable, again with a luxurious feel to them. Everything needed was to hand. The breakfast too was excellent, with a good choice, and everything I would personally ask of a breakfast. Above all Paul and Chantelle, the owners, were never too far away for queries, help and advice. A mine of local knowledge and a very hospitable and friendly couple. There is nothing I can fault about St Bernard’s and I highly recommend a stay here if you are ever in Cornwall.

Reviewed Jun 28, 2026Der Empfang war sehr zuvorkommend und sehr persönlich. Das Frühstück war auch sehr, sehr gut und ist empfehlenswert. Im Aufenthaltsraum hat es Kuchen, der gratis zur Verpflegung dient. Auch kann man Kaffee, Tee und auch Wein gegen Entgelt einnehmen. Super Dienstleistung.

Reviewed Jun 20, 2026Absolutely great guesthouse, room was excellent with all amenities you would require, Great breakfast cooked to order and at the time you required, Paul and Chantelle were great hosts with Paul giving valuable local travel advice which was very helpful, They have private parking available for a small fee just around the corner and went out of there way to email me directions and a parking pass to Australia so no messing around when I arrived.

Reviewed Jun 1, 2026I would say the location is one of the best in Newquay, it is close to city, train station, shops, beach, everything is in 5 to 10 minutes by walk. We loved time which we spent in this guesthouse and we will definitely come back next year. The owners are super friendly, nice and helpful. They really care about their guests. We had everything what we would wish and even more.

Reviewed May 27, 2026Das Zimmer 3 und das Bad waren sehr sauber. Zudem ist alles geschmackvoll und farblich abgestimmt eingerichtet. Im Bad hingen schöne Bilder und flauschige Handtücher. Es gab einen kleinen Kühlschrank. Die Betten waren bequem mit guter Bettwäsche. Besonders war für uns der Service. Der Guesthouse Besitzer war ein echter Gentleman, sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und vor allem hilfsbereit. Unsere schweren Koffer wurden von ihm vom Auto bis ins Zimmer getragen und nach Schwierigkeiten mit einem Taxi, hat er sich eingesetzt, dass wir für den sehr frühen Morgen doch noch ein Taxi bekamen. Danke nochmals an dieser Stelle!
Das Guesthouse liegt an einer befahrenen Straße. Unser Zimmer lag zu dieser Straße. Man kam erst später zur Ruhe aufgrund des Verkehrs. Da wir um 4:00 h aufstehen mussten, war die Nacht gefühlt noch kürzer.

Our hosts were exceptional and gave us load of advice about restaurants and events in the area. Plus helped us with the luggage and checked the trains for us Guest House was in easy reach of the train station.

Bekamen sogar Tee und Kaffee angeboten, um uns kurz aufzuhalten. Der Gastgeber hatte viele tolle Tips für uns, und auch am Abreisetag durften wir unser Gepäck noch dort lassen. Absolute Empfehlung!

Morning breakfast was delicious and served right on time. What really stood out was the way Paul and Chantelle interacted with us. Their conversations and kindness made it feel less like staying in a guesthouse and more like being part of a family. The hosts even let us keep our bags in the living room while we were out for the day even though we had checked-out that morning. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really showed how accommodating they are. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Newquay and would happily stay again in the future.

Die Zimmer sind mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail eingeladen von Teppichboden bis Fernsehen und Alexa erfüllen die Zimmer einem lieben Wunsch. Im ganzen Haus riecht es unfassbar gut und es ist sehr sauber. Die Lage ist top man ist in 5 Minuten am Strand und bei sämtlichen Geschäften und Restaurants. Dennoch hat das B&B eine ruhige Lage, so dass man jederzeit seine Ruhe hat :)

The place is a gem, clean, lovely laid out, revamped, homely and thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay. Home from home. Absolutely gutted my mate booked up let’s say.. another hotel for the rest of my stay, thank you so much again. Was lovely to meet you chat to you. Breakfast was top notch too. Reviewed Jan 19, 2026I ordered omelette for breakfast which was cooked lovely. Friendly environment in the breakfast room, My room was cosy and very clean, for me its very important as i suffer OCD and was quiet actually its exactly what I needed after a tough year..
There wasnt anything really that I didn't like, the only thing was the WiFi code wouldn't connect to my phone, maybe it was my phone but its a brand new Samsung model from February 2025, but it wasnt an issue though as i have my own data..
