The location was great, very quiet but close enough to the larger towns. The options for breakfast were very good.
Great location for what we needed and walking distance into Cromer. We have stayed here several times before as we liked it so much. Good offer at breakfast and evening dinner, very good WiFi also. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Bed comfortable and good shower
This visit we were in the loft, so the room felt very compact and I had to duck in certain areas. TV in room is small, towel rail hanging off in bathroom and some carpet staining. Food here is very good but on 2 out of 3 breakfasts the bacon was overcooked this time
Lovely friendly welcome. The room was clean and ready for our arrival. Very dog friendly. Food was lovely.
I miss getting a teapot at the breakfast table.
Beautifully decorated and fantastically clean.
The gardener using his petrol strimmer outside my bedroom window at 7.45 a.m.!
Managed to park on the side street next to the rear entrance, but it might not be possible in high season. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom towels were soft and fluffy. Just a short walk to the sea front.
The decor in the room was a bit dated, the television was very small and the toilet noisy.
A good value for money accommodation with great food
Not much to do in the immediate vicinity (you can obviously drive to busier local towns) but the pub itself and great restaurant more than made up for this.
It was a great place to stay - a really spacious comfortable and clean room, with lovely decoration. Good customer service, friendly staff and a delicious breakfast!
There is limited on site parking. However it’s easy enough to park close by on the street.
Breakfast!
The atmosphere is very friendly and comfortable. Staff are welcoming and efficient. The location is great for the North Norfolk Coast. Food is good at breakfast and evening meal.
The room and bathroom were a little tight for space but understand other rooms are more generous.
Comfortable room in a well decorated and clean pub. Very good breakfast. Great location with a half hour cliff top walk to Cromer.
Stylish, comfortable, luxurious room and ensuite. Breakfast was very good.Great location.
Noise from bar but that's expected.
Nice location and nice room
Fire door was next to us and made a noise everytime someone went through it when closing so woke us up a few times late.
Room was beautiful, large and airy, with a view of the sea and spotlessly clean.
That we weren’t staying longer
Excellent
The total ambiance was friendly and relaxed. The staff were lovely, particularly Ayla who was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and the menu varied. Outside the well equipped play/ adventure area kept the children occupied. Only a short walk to the lovely beach.
There was nothing we didn't like.
Un salto nel tempo…bella sorpresa con un giardino curato! Colazione super e consiglio anche la cena
Nulla
Excellent property and stay, Excellent 👌
Everything
The food was excellent and always arrived hot
Nothing
Lovely friendly staff.
Room was last one and very warm - exceptional summer, fan wasn't enough to keep room cool
Breakfast was excellent with good choices. Beach was at the end of the road....three minitues away. Nice, quiet location within easy reach of Cromer, Sherringham.
Maybe a quiznight? Very quiet of an evening.
the location of the hotel is very good, close to the seaside. Breakfast was included and fair, except for the awful coffee
The window at the top of the steep staircase that was blowing a gale and impossible to close. Coffee was awful and when I mentioned it the waitress was surly. The TV screen was tiny, more like a laptop attached to the wall. I think it was very overpriced
The breakfast was of a very high standard with quality produce .
Nice and close to cromer
Beds were so squeaky even just gently sitting on them they sweaked, also pillows were all very lumpy, we had to ask for toilet rolls and sugar after room had been serviced, the room wasn't vacuumed or the sheets changed at all during a six night stay which is disappointing, especially when we were paying £149.00 a night
Staff were lovely.
Wish I known about all steps to negotiate. Knew there would be stairs but lots of steps all over. As a person with poor mobility i was most uncomfortable. I fell on arrival. It wasn't made clear on description. Won't be going again. Breakfast was overcooked and dry as if it had been standing.
Great staff, lovely room, excellent location.
Small 3 car carpark, but plenty of road parking.
Loved the decor it was very modern and made the room very appealing and cosy coffee maker in the room even though don't drink coffee it was a nice addition !!! Was a good price as well
Nothing to not like to be honest
Looks nice from the outside. Good location.
The bedroom and en-suite basic and a bit tired. Charged extra for latte at breakfast. Cooked part of breakfast very good. A busy little pub but slightly soulless, staff polite but that’s all.
The property was clean and spacious with a large bedroom with a bright outlook. The staff were very helpful and hard working. Breakfast was excellent and the selection of food and drinks in the pub was very good.
Parking was on the road not on the premises.
Could choose to delete some items from Menu if desired For example: Full English breakfast selected, but without black pudding or fried egg.
Would have liked socket in en-suite bathroom for electric razor and rechargeable battery toothbrush. Also - more space for on-site car parking, rather than using High Street which was restricted in places, as should not block driveways of other properties
Essen Lage
Breakfast was good, but would have liked a continental option. Location was excellent near beach and bus stop opposite hotel
A continental breakfast option also fresh fruit option .
The location was very good
The staff were unhelpful and almost rude with exception to the housekeeper.
Very friendly staff
The cutlery for breakfast wast very blunt ... very difficult to cut bacon.
Breakfast was good Hotel was spotless Location was great Food was good
The stairs are very steep with no lift you will need to Be fit and able to climb them .A great venue to stay at.
We would have liked fruit & natural yogurt at breakfast.
.
Great location and good breakfast and easy parking
Mostly, everything. Sunday lunch was exceptional.
Room was on the 2nd floor.
Lovely location, quiet, close to the sea. Good food.
At 12 AM ppl were still at the bar having drinks. Our room was above it which made it very hard to sleep. Also, it's a great dog friendly place but noticed that staff who petted dogs but didn't wash their hands afterwards to serve drinks and food.
Easy to book in. Food very good. Every were very clean and friendy staff.
Very small tv and dont book room 10 35 stair steps to get there.
Very clean and comfortable room. Less than 10 minute walk to the beach. Breakfast was good.
Everything was fine!
Had a very nice room excellent evening meal slept well would definitely recommend
Everything good nothing to not like
The staff were very friendly and helpful it was so dog friendly my son loved the play area in the garden we had a lovely stay and it was very clean
A very nice stay, we would stay again. Quiet location by the coast. Just be aware of 10% service charge on food and drink on our room bill.
The room was clean and very confortable.
Staff not very friendly.
Quiet location.. Room was very comfortable and spacious.
Stayed here quite a few times and the staff are always very helpful and friendly. Food especially the breakfast is good and the accommodation is comfortable.
There is everything you need under one roof.
There is nothing to dislike.
We were lucky enough to be allocated one of the newly refurbished rooms which was superb. Lovely boutique hotel style decor and amenities. Good breakfast included in the price. Friendly staff. Location is a 2 minute walk from the unspoilt Overstrand beach. More rooms are due to be renovated over the winter.
It was a bit noisy until 11pm because our room was directly above the bar and we could hear the music playing, but it went silent at 11pm.
Tasteful decor, nice garden, food excellent & bed was very comfortable
Limited menu, no specials
Lovely, helpful staff
Location for a relatives party
There was a problem with the television in the room. As the staff member could not rectify it, they changed my room which was much nicer. It was also quieter as at the back of the hotel and not over the front bar outside seating area. The breakfast was all good, with plenty of choices to suit everyone.
Room was beautifully decorated and clean. Comfortable bed. Restaurant food and breakfast was delicious.
Bit miffed to get charged for an Aperol Spritz £11, then add another 50p for soda. This should be included in the price!
It's in a fantastic location, Overstrand, the staff were friendly, I can't fault the place and will always recommend the White Horse. This is our second time here, we stayed here in 2018 .
Nothing really.
Comfortable, spacious room, full of light. Handy for the beach. Dinner and breakfast both excellent and staff extremely helpful. Also dog-friendly.
Amazing location, super lovely people, super dog friendly, great food - especially breakfast
Quite a lot of stairs to our room on the second floor - but not a problem for us
Good breakfast
Stairs,small shower,broken toilet seat,stained or dirty towels.
Very clean. Good food.
Staff not particularly attentive. Booked a table for dinner when we arrived but it wasn't added in the booking sheet at the restaurant.
Close to the beach
We were not made to feel welcome from check in to leaving, all the staff give the bear minimum service, busy or not no excuse for being abrupt in a customer facing role. We were stuck up the top of the building with our dog so not convenient, lots of stairs too so not for elderly humans or dogs. This is not mentioned anywhere when booking. I would not bother going back.
excellant staff
the stairs which i do realize could not be altered help was always at hand. i liked the beach but as a senior citizen did not access it very much
I found the bed too small for 2 people, which made sleeping difficult and uncomfortable. On our last day we planned a relaxing walk and a quiet afternoon in the pub garden. Unfortunately, a group holding a funeral wake arrived. Not wanting to be involved, we checked out 1 day earlier than planned. This is not the fault of the funeral party. The pub management should have advised us, and we could have planned our day differently.
Breakfast was good, good selection of coffee/tea etc in the room, our room was comfortable.
The beds we had (2 small singles) were really uncomfortable, tbh the only bad thing.
Central to Overstrand
Nothing
The location and the staff, the meals were lovely
We never had our room cleaned, being on the top floor they need to put fans in, I did not sleep because of the stifling heat
The staff were friendly. The room was clean with a lovely bathroom. The meals were excellent. The location was wonderful and just a short walk to the beach
Nothing
Super clean room, friendly staff, great breakfast, brilliant value, highly recommend
We had no complaints
Grosses Zimmer mit grossem, bequemem Bett. Dusche gross und gut. Frühstück sehr gut. Parkplatz vorhanden.
Laut bis Pub schloss. Praktisch keine Abstellfläche im Bad.
Chef Stephen cooked me meals I could eat with my various intolerances and was very helpful. Friendly staff. Large room at front of pub. Handy location for Cromer and Burnham Market
Double bed a bit small for us these days. A fridge would be good but realise this would increase cost.
Always an excellent breakfast. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is comfortable and well appointed.
The room was a little small, but adequate for one person. As a double room I think it wouldn't have worked for many nights.
Nice quiet good sized room, but expected a twin room, and was given a double. Shower amazing! Coffee maker a bonus. Lovely bed linen.
No confirmation received about type of room allocated, expected twin, allocated double. Breakfast mediocre- no granary/brown bread for toasting. Smoked fish not fresh. However, breakfast was served hot. Breakfast staff “airing” her own grumbles in front of guests unacceptable.
Lovely hotel great staff. Highly recommended
Nothing
Always an excellent breakfast with a buffet bar of cereals, juice etc before the main breakfast. Well cooked, well served and quick service.
Can't fault it really.
The location was excellent. Overstrand is a peaceful village next to the sea. Easy to drive to nearby places, such as Cromer and Sheringham. The staff were always helpful and friendly. It was easy to book an evening meal. The meals were very good. The room was comfortable. Having a zipped together, super king sized bed was great. Also, since the weather was exceptionally hot, the fan was very necessary and most welcome.
Whilst the shower in the en-suite was powerful and always warm, the cubicle was cramped and it was difficult to get in and out of. People larger than us would find it impossible! We managed to find parking space on the street opposite the hotel when we needed it. We would imagine that at the height of the summer season this might become a problem.
Great location, close to the sea. Very quiet even though it’s a pub. Well cooked breakfast.
It’s was very hot weather so the room was warm. Maybe have a fan in the room? Shower on the small side but it was adequate.
It was extremely clean and most pleasant place to stay and stay there again it was lovely
Nothing
Food was plentiful arrived nice and hot.ser
Service was a little slow but when on holiday it doesn't really matter.
We received a warm welcome on arrival, and our check-in was quick and effortless. Our room was beautifully decorated & clean, the beds were comfy, and the room was well stocked with toiletries, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was delicious and everything freshly prepared. The pub & restaurant is also beautiful decorated and clean, it's family friendly and has a lovely playground onsite. Great location with easy walking access to Overstand beach and a short drive (or 2 mile coastal walk) to Cromer We had a lovely stay and have already recommend here to our family & friends.
Convenient. Good value
Breakfast felt a bit like a canteen but very nice food
The hotel location is good and easy to reach. Sea is only a short walk away and there is a shop nearby. Restaurant food was ok.. staff were pleasant and the food was tasty.
I asked for a room at the back where I stayed last time but was given one right above the front door. The stairs are already a challenge for me but the steps down into the bedroom were an extra hazard. It was impossible to get any sleep each night until the last eaters and drinkers had left the outside seating area just below my window. I would not stay in a room at the front of the hotel again.
Frendly atmosphere good location
No air con or even a basic fan in the room
All very good
Time to go home
Location was great, easy to get out and about from here. Food was good. Very accommodating premises for dog owners. Excellent selection of real ales.
The bed wasn’t that comfortable. The bed sheets were too small for the bed.
Stayed in a recently refurbished room, and it was lovely. Welcoming and friendly staff. .
Nothing to dislike.
Comfortable spacious room. Nice breakfasts.
The room was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very good.
Friendliness breakfast and evening meal
The stairs to second floor
Great location and lovely breakfast. The outside garden was much appreciated on a hot evening 😅
We were on the top floor( no lift) and as it was a particularly hot evening the room was very warm. I requested a fan but mine was available .
The fantastic breakfast was the best thing about our stay. The towels were thick and soft.
Some of the tiles in the bathroom were not clean, but the room was clean otherwise
Good 👍👍
Location; close to beach and Cromer
Looking a little tired and need if sprucing up
Well positioned, clean & tidy. The evening meal and breakfast was excellent. Overall good value on the price for a 1 nights B&B.
Rooms whilst well decorated & clean were not particularly great on sound proofing. Music & noise coming up from the bar was very noisy until 11 pm when it went quiet. So don’t expect a quiet early night. Was only a Tuesday evening outside of the main holiday season and with virtually no one in the bar, it felt like the music was ramped up more for the staff than the guests.
Great location. Accommodation very clean. Staff friendly. Good choice available for breakfast.
Breakfast highly recommended. We had The All English Breakfast.
Great location, comfortable room, food was excellent especially the steak.
Every thing was perfect.
We stayed only one night there was a good choice for cold and cooked, I booked 3 room everyone was delighted with the cleanliness of each room, all had en-suite, would stay again if I was in the area, staff hard working and very friendly
There were stairs to the rooms and 3 steps into the room
Quite size room lovely to move about in.....Staff all so friendly THANK YOU ALL 😄😄
If any thing for us we do like some fruit for the breakfast table but as we enjoyed our stay that is only a minor problem for us.....Once again THANK YOU ALL 😄😄
Staff very friendly
Bathroom could do with a good clean
Excellent location, easy on street parking, very clean and lovely friendly staff.
A very dog friendly pub and rooms. Great for kids too. Great location. Nice breakfast.
The older members of staff weren't as the younger staff. Parking is on the road.
Room was comfortable and clean. Enjoyed dinner.
