Great hotel with an even greater staff.
They lied about free breakfast with room. Was told they would not give me any compensation by front desk. Totally unacceptable
There was no free breakfast provided as advertised. Otherwise it was a good stay. The pool is very nice.
Deeply in need of renovation, room description is not correct.
The first night at this hotel they gave me a horrible room full of bedbugs (I killed 10 of them), very dirty, the water bottles were already opened, no window, I asked to change the room and the second room was actually decent, pretty big and clean, so I advise to check the room first
Many more cheaper options in the area. a bunch of criminals work here. It has Bed bugs, rooms are small and the lady working during the day tried charging cash for the breakfast
Had a problem getting to Phnom Penh;- Emirates airlines would say 'an at of god' told Queen wood hotel i would be 1 or 2 days late. When i arrived for 3rd night booked and paid for; they insisted i had to pay again and had lost my original booking. This was for $25 which i paid cash
Swimming pool is open 24/7 and it’s amazing, staff especially receptionist provide all what you need or give you advise about your needs, full recommendation to future tourists
Air Con made a noise only. No lift to the top floor. Located in the middle of the street market.
No where and nothing to impressing us much. There's just regular cheap hotel and no star no value. Anyone can stay there just one night and no more than two nights that's it, there's no place to exciting even thought the restaurant's the price too high and tasteless for to compare some other the restaurant near by. I wouldn't to recommend any of my friends to stay there.
Bitten by bed bug all night. Don't stay in Room 311. It is dirty and you will wake up in pain with plenty of bed bug
I have stayed here many times. And I normally say 5* but never take your wife or girlfriend. They will run screaming. Last time was poor. Some bug in the bed bit me and I slapped it and blood went everywhere. Let’s hope it was my blood and that it had never eaten anyone else. I don’t especially blame the hotel. It’s the tropics. And the alternative is a cancer inducing pesticide. On the last day I turned up for breakfast at 09:45. Lights off. Everything cleared. She told me they closed at 10am. Yes you read that correctly. Very rude she was too. Strange. I know all the staff and most are great. And both the double locks on my room door were broken. My wife would have freaked. No she would have walked. I put a chair against the door. It’s cheap I’m every sense. And one day no shampoo was left for me in the bathroom. The friendly night porter fixed that by taking from an empty room. I will go back as it’s close to my friends’ house. But I will check the locks next time and insist on a room change if necessary.
Good value. Be guided by the price. It’s not the Ritz. I like it. Your wife might not.
Quite an old hotel I guess. The lady recep was not too friendly. I asked for an extra towel for my hair, they didn’t allowed it. But the location is good. Bars everywhere near the hotel. The rooftop pool is nice.
Booking was good, and efficient. Upon arrival check in was quick. Room had no window, so we asked for a room with a window. The new room was shabby and small. Bed was advertised to be a King size, but was a Queen at most. T.V. was mounted high on the wall and really too small. Screen needs to be at least 40 in. A/C worked fine, Shower was good. Wifi was good (6th floor). We moved to a room on the 7th floor with 2 beds after one night. Same room condition but it was on a corner and had 2 windows with a $5.00 per night fee. Wifi was terrible at this location. The modem was just outside our room, and the info indicated that the signal was strong. Even so, I showed connected, but was unable to "see" anything. Fortunately my telephone service comes with internet access and I used that although it cost me. Breakfast came as part of the package and was acceptable. We ate breakfast there every day that we were checked into the hotel. There was a rooftop bar which we could also order food. We ate there a couple of times for lunch, and once for dinner. The food was good and reasonably priced. There is a roof top pool. Small, but good for a dip. Our children enjoyed the pool at least once a day. At dusk the mosquitos come out and you can't really stay long unless you have some mosquito protection. The views of the city and the river are very nice. We will probably stay again. Recommend for single, couple, or small family for a short stay.
It is located in a convenient and popular area of town.
I often use this hotel. It is not a luxury hotel and you should use the rates as a guide to your likely experience. It is clean and the staff are helpful. For the star rating it suits me perfectly. If you want to treat a spouse to a touch of luxury there are plenty of places further upscale. The frugal will find it fine. Breakfast if included is an extra perk. It is pretty average but has what you need and I have no complaints. The wait staff are kind and helpful. Tip all the staff. For the maids a can of cold coke will make their day. The bell boys are very helpful too. They all probably make in a month what you make in a few hours. I say all this because a little generosity will mean they won’t forget you. And it’s fair. Enjoy. Oh the rooftop bar is ok too. Nice view.
Some good things and some bad things about this place. Staff were very hit or miss, and there certainly is a lack of communication between them. Its pretty cheap, but no shower curtains in the showers, and the food takes forever to arrive. Not much in the way of breakfast offerings as well. The rooftop bar is okay, and also a pool, but once again the food takes forever to arrive, but that seems to be the case in most of Cambodia.
Very bad this time .twice got money stolen from my wallet ..How they do it I don't know ..the second time they replaced two one hundred dollar notes with fakes ..they are very smart thieving eastwards..last time I will go there
This hotel is in a red light district which is quite noisy and busy, but also close to the riverside. My wife and I had stayed here twice before, and while the rooms were old and the neighborhood questionable, we never had a problem. After the latest stay though we'll never go there again. The room was quite dirty, and after I found a roach crawling on my pillow in the middle of the night we changed rooms to another which was slightly cleaner. This room was in the front of the hotel and the noise from the street was very loud until around 3-4a, so we had to use earplugs. On the last day I had a scary experience that left me a bit shaken. I got onto the elevator alone only to be joined by a young Khmer man just before the door closed. While it was closing, I saw another person run past and up the stair case, but thought nothing of it. When the elevator stopped on the 2nd floor the running man was waiting outside the door, and gently nudged me back in when I stepped off. My initial thought was that he was a hotel employee and was helping me get to my floor since I was staying on the 3rd, but when he got in I realized this was not the case and that I had likely been "marked" when I entered the door. The doors shut and the elevator ascended. Both men were eyeing me closely the entire time so I readied myself to throw down, but ultimately nothing happened, although one made a rude comment in Khmer about my appearance. The hotel has cameras but remain vigilant here!
The room smelled of cigarette smoke, and the room needed repair, (the water dripped continually and the TV cable was out of order). The staff were super helpful and provided a scale to weigh luggage. Very noisy bar area all around. The rooftop pool/bar has a great view
it is what it is for the cost. No frills but good lokation. it is a little tiert. Needs refurbishment. Staff are very friendly.
We we're backpacking and this was our last place. It was okay.. lots of older men with young girls.. as well as down the whole block at the bars/restaurants. Didn't actually sleep here as we went to the airport at 9pm. Just booked it more for the rooftop pool and shower. Bed looked clean. AC didn't work great. There were guest flip flops that we're supposed to be white but we're black with dirt.. so that made me wary of how clean it was. I probably would be ok to stay a couple nights there.
I get spoiled here the rooms may not be to some people the beds are great . The rooms are big enough but not spacious family rooms are bigger a little dearer. Staff are good and helpful if you take your western mentality and just except the Asian way.
$200 was taken from my suitcase in my locked room (no safe in room) I didn't notice until I got to Siem Reap. I believe it was taken by a person employed by the hotel
I have stayed here before & eas very happy that the hotel has maintained its high quality service
The location is great. Staff really friendly. Hotel neat and clean. Great value.
good location
Pictures online are very deceiving. Hotel is right in the action, but I’d suggest staying a little further away and just tuktuk to riverside.
good position ,cheap hotel
close to river bars and restaurants ,a good base to go exploring a good deal for the price ,staff great bed comfortable ,pool is small but nice to have a beer on the roof at the end of the day !
Pool on the roof nice place to relax and enjoy the veiw
As per normal in Asia the front counter staff were great, despite not being able initially to find my booking. They let me to my room and found the booking later. The room was disappointing. Very small with no ventilation. It smelt of smoke and was not pleasant. Aircon pointed down at the bed and I needed it on because it was so hot. But gave me a minor chest cough which lasted for weeks. I would recommend this hotel have smoking and non smoking rooms. All the staff though we wonderful.
Dirty ,shabby overpriced ,in need of redecoration .Resembles truck drivers digs in the seventies with its broken mismatched furnishings. Everyone I spoke to stayed 1 night then cut there loses and left.
Terrible. Noisey, dirty, incompetent staff, a/c broken but nothing done about it, room not serviced and when I asked for toilet paper and towels it took 1.5hrs to deliver. Horrible breakthrough, table cloth stained like it wasn't removed from dinner.
Good location, helpful staff, decent breakfast, decent room, it could be cleaner. Found a weird little bug in the bed.
Exactly what you would expect for the price. The room was clean, bed comfortable, toilet flushed and plenty of water in the shower. Staff were friendly, it is in a good location and breakfast is acceptable. Good place to stay but not luxury.
I have stayed here many times and have had no problems. Always a warm welcome. Will be back again
You should be little bit more precice with your online booking system. Example I wanted a single room with my Gf, cause thats enough, but the online booking system didnt give me choise to mention, that theres two of us in same room and I ended up paying extra because of that. That kind of things shouldnt happen, if you want to have good reputation, cause people dont like that kind of suprises. But overall I liked your place and propably end up there again one day.
Satisfactory in every way! location, food, room, service, but the pool was a bit too small.
This hotel has a lot of potential and provides a good location ,a roof top pool, lift, and roof restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are OK - quite small with a a small shower. However there is a bar across the road from the hotel that plays loud music until about 2 a.m. and it kept me awake until it closed. Good location, close to the river bars excreta, there is a mini mart down the road. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly. Would I stay here again....probably not, only because of the noise. Room Tip: Choose a room high up and at the back. Great views from the roof top pool.
I wouldn't stay here again. For the price, you could spend $10-15 more for a better hotel in the area. Pool is very small, breakfast is horrible (there was a cockroach on the pastry tray), and the construction site next door wakes you up at 6 am.
Excellent stay and very recomendable, hotel clean and staff where very friendly. area was excellent and lots to do and see.
This hotel is situated on 136 street which is the centre of the girly-bar zone but also close to the waterfront and the many moer mainstream bars and restaurants. Service is very friendly and efficient although on my second visit the price of beer had jumped to $3 - I'm sure it was a lot less before. Pleasant roof terrace with loungers, bar/restaurant and a welcome plunge pool. Rooms are 'old' but clean and I think all have aircon, hot water etc. There are cheaper places but this provides decent value for a short term stay
primary quality of Queen Wood is location. Moreover, staff is very nice. On the negative side is poor isoloation. There is a lot of noise, making it difficult to sleep some times. And, the breakfast is not very good. However, it is quite good value for money. Location and service make Queen Wood a good choice.
Small pool
If you want to listen to the drum beat of rock music until 3:00 AM, then this is the hotel for you. My earplugs couldn't even keep out the noise.
There are only about six sunbeds.
Pool is small and there are very few sunbeds.
Do not stay here in this hotel. This hotel do not honor their promise. We were left standing at airport for 2 hours before transportation arrive. The hotel claimed was newly built in 2013 but it was an old building convert into a hotel everything looks like an old hotel. The hotel manager promised us a nice room with window and view but it turn out our room has no window,no view, bad smell and wi-fi was not working. Even worse this hotel don't care about their promise and don't care about our complain when we asked for a nicer room with window not just a room with all solid walls around like a storage room. I would never stay at this hotel.
warm friendly
