Ibis Styles Caen Centre Gare

Stayed 3 nights. The staff was great. Breakfast good. Rooms were spacious and clean. Traffic congestion during the week can be terrible. But, there is on-site underground parking. With the hotel discount, each night cost about €16.

The location of the hotel is very convenient to the train station, dining, and general shopping.

I had an unusual experience, 2nd day there I sprained my ankle on tour and virtually stuck in my room the entire stay. The staff went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed and we there every step on the way. I hope everyone who reads this can appreciate how important this makes a stay.

The experience was AMAZING! The best thing was the room. We are a family of 4 and the hotel provided us two connected rooms which have two bathrooms. The breakfast was delicious. The service was wonderful - everyone was extremely kind and helpful (despite the language barrier). The place was also near to the city and 2 minutes away were plenty of restaurants and cafes to eat dinner. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

Booked this place as a backup, just in case I couldn't make it to the ferry in time. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help bridge the language barrier. (I don't know much French, they didn't know much English). Once everything was understood, my friend and I took the keys are were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms. Coffee making facilities, air conditioning and a king size bed. There are a number of eateries and even a cinema just around the corner from the hotel and it's only a couple of minutes walk from the train station. For a last minute stay, there was nothing more I could have asked for.

Breakfast is very good. Close to main train station. Electric tram stop right in front. Easy walk to the central city. We checked in late night and the night receptionist Maia was delightful, provided us with a lot of information and made us feel right at home

Great stay at the hotel. Lovely and clean and staff friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Maya (may not be spelt this way) but she was such a delight to deal with and is an asset to this hotel. We will come back for sure!

Very good hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful but there was quite a bit of street noise and the area near the hotel seemed a bit dodgy. Good selection of restaurants in the area and free breakfast was a nice inclusion

Great stay... pity about the parking!.. entered the car park ticket 30 euros then entered the ticket from reception.nothing was deducted, still charged 30 euros?. ..Didn't have time to go back & query why?. ...other than that the hotel was excellent.

Employees were great!

The room was very comfortable and well set-up. The bathroom and shower were excellent. There was an extensive breakfast that was available starting at 6:00, as we left fairly early every day. We were able to park on the street close to the hotel all 3 nights we stayed. It was a convenient location, easy to get to the highway, just across the river from the city of Caen and near several restaurants and stores.

Excellent value. Decor is IKEAish.

Clean hotel, walking distance to city centre, shame the parking underneath charged so much

We stayed two nights a week apart. Hotel is a few minutes walk fro train station and numerous restaurants. Trams station is right outside the door takes you to shopping as well as a shopping center in the same building.

We had a party of 12 and mini bus to park. Reception had cards all prepared for us so we could go straight to rooms without delay- despite being about 7pm and receptionist gave excellent map and guidance for free parking of mini bus. She also guided us to good restaurants in area Breakfast was also excellent Unbeatable service at the price Have stayed in hotels costing twice as much with half the result We will definetly use Isis again on our travels to France Thankyou

Parking is only covered for the night, at 6:00am the clock starts and you get charged by the hour. Staff could be a bit more friendly, especially the people working at the breakfast buffet. They were hard to find when needed help, and acted annoyed when asked for help.

Minimalist modern hotel close to tourist areas, we liked the excellent included breakfast, the modern decor and nice shower, but there is no phone, no safebox in the rooms (available at the lobby) no coffee, no closet space or drawers, no fridge and the heating/AC is central controlled and room was to hot for comfortable sleeping.

It was exceptional well organized and served.

Everything was wonderful except for the lack of reasonably priced parking. Don't think I would stay there again if we had a rental car... Restaurant options close by were great!

Ok for the money

This is a 3 star hotel and felt like it (i.e.no 4 or 5 features)- it was designed to be close to the train station although formally true it was still a serious walk to the actual station.

Modern hotel - clean, comfortable, informal. Handy for the station (but far enough away not to heat the trains) and the town. Staff all very pleasant and willing to help

Very clean hotel. Well situated to visit Caen. Free navette to get around and tram just in front. Nice breakfast with fresh orange juice. While parking is available in the shopping mall, it’s quite pricey even with night discount, cheaper to park on the street during the day.

Stay was good, staff were accommodating and friendly. Room was nice, but the wifi did not work properly therefore a lot of my eSIM data got gobbled up really fast

Hotel is excellent, friendly helpful staff, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the car parking is expensive, although though it was discounted, we still paid around 15 Euro each night.

Definitely book this hotel if you’re in Caen! You won’t regret it and I’m very picky. Awesome location since is next door to shopping and dining. But is almost a new hotel which is perfectly clean, nice pressure hot shower a plus and walking distance to rail and bus station.

Lack of working lighting on outside of building made locating hotel at night unnecessarily difficult. The staff said many had complained but management didn’t thing it was a big deal.The highlight was easy parking and the breakfast provided. The rest was very average

Arrived Caen by train and stayed for one night before picking up our rental car the next day. Excellent location as it’s just a few minutes walk from the train station. Good value for the price with breakfast included. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The free parking policy changed just before our stay.

Good location with a secure place to store our touring bicycles. Breakfast had a good selection of fresh sweets, breads, fruits, meats and cheeses. Hotel was clean and the area quiet. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and a small grocery store too. Only complaint was our bed was a bit ‘worn’

Room was quite spacious, with a great bathroom. Breakfast was excellent- lots of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, cold meats, and cheeses. They also had non-dairy milk options.

The room is very clean and modern. Bed is comfortable. There are no amenities in the room. No fridge or microwave. But the location is great—next to the train station and a large mall with lots of dining options.

One of the better Ibis I’ve stayed at. Hotel was clean and room was a good size. Hotel is very convenient to train and bus stations. There are restaurants and a grocery nearby. The tram into town is also right there. Otherwise, it is a 1/2 mile walk.

Messed up hotel reservations so needed a place for one night. I would have stayed longer. Trendy, clean, comfy, nice view of the River Oren, close to train station, public transport, and attached to a new shopping mall if you need anything. Easy as pie

The breakfast was set up very nicely, the hours were convenient and the location - within steps of a shopping mall, outdoor dining, and public transportation - was perfect.

Excellent location. Dining options all around as well as shopping and a supermarket within 100 meters. Quiet location with the river nearby and other relaxing areas for everyone. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

As expected

Very modern design; not our personal preference but functional and clean. I did not like the fact that I had been told by a young man in Reception that my parking ticket had been validated but when we tried to exit the car park the following morning the machine retained my ticket and the barrier remained shut. We conferred with the supervisor of the car park who charged us 27 Euros to leave. I went immediately to Reception but the young lady said that she would be unable to resolve the matter. Our understanding was that we were entitled to free parking between 1800 and 0900 the next day. In our case that would have meant us paying for two hours. Sadly this experience does little to enhance my view about our stay at Ibis in Caen.

New hotel within walking distance of the Caen train station. Excellent choice for reasonably priced hotel in this area especially if you’re transiting to the Backroads bike tour of Brittany and Normandy.

They are very green. The included breakfast was first class. So many options, excellent quality.

Nice hotel not far from city center. Check-in is nice and fast. The room is spacious and comfortable but we have one major problem with it. On check-in we discovered that the bathroom drain would not drain. We called the front desk and someone was sent to fix the problem. He tried but could not fix something that was broken. He promised to come back to fix it. Then we went out to dinner. When we came back late after dinner we discovered that not only was the problem not fixed it got worse. The water leaked into the floor whenever the sink was used. We called the front desk again but was told there was nothing they could do because it was night time. There was no maintenance staff. We couldn’t change to another room because the hotel was full. We were amazed that there was no solution to our problem even though the hotel was big and our problem should require only moderate work. Other than this problem the hotel was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Plenty of paid parking in the next door garage.

Minimalist modern hotel with a lot of coloured plastic in the rooms. Good shower, comfortable bed. Reasonable location beside Orne river for central Caen shops and restaurants. Small bar in lobby isn't up to much. Happy hour from 6 to 8 made drink prices normal. Advertising it as having free parking is stretching it a bit. The hotel has an agreement with the nearby underground parking for free between 6pm and 9am, and on the street there are some free spaces, if unoccupied. This whole area of Caen is covered in road works, so getting to the hotel by car requires very careful navigation around the bridges of the Orne river. Miss a turn and you have to go round again. One day returned from Bayeux by train, and train station is very close to hotel, so very handy for anyone travelling by train. Excellent breakfast was included so that was a huge plus. Takeaway tea/coffee catered for. The hotel runs on minimal staff and the few that are there don't say a lot, or offer much information. Overall, we were disappointed on arrival, but warmed to the place as time went on.

Looking for an overnight hotel en route to St Malo near all the d-day beaches / monuments and this was perfect

Simple, clean, well located, with convenient parking. All we needed. A good base of operations to visit normandy beaches.

It was extremely good once we had found it!! There were 4 Ibis hotels in Caen - including another Ibis styles. We were very tired and my disabled son was desperate to get out of wheelchair

The hotel is situated close to plenty of restaurants, café's and shops with pleasant walks along the canal, the staff are really friendly and helpful, most are bilingual, there is car parking below ground in a public carpark with free spaces for hotel guests from 18:00 to 09:00. La Boucherie restaurant across the canal is very good for meals if you are looking for an alternative to the hotel. The only real negative point is that there is no kettle and facilities for making a drink in your room. Lift security with your room card as verification is a very safe feature. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel

What you would expect of an Ibis in France. Clean functional with no frills

Conveniently sited hotel close to town and right across road to clean river. Close to restaurants bars and amenities. 45mins drive to D-day landing sites and 20mins to Pegasus Bridge. Ideally located. Clean hotel, friendly staff (english speaking) helpfull, with parking free. Highly recommended.

Good location near railway station and reasonably close to the main attractions of Caen. Usual excellent level of professionalism and helpfulness that I've experienced at Ibis Styles hotels in France.

The staff are very helpful and friendly and breakfast is good. The only detractions were no toiletries in the bathroom (just liquid soap) and parking is only free from 6pm to 9am.

Really clean and quiet hotel. Near the centre but really quite and close to the road network for jet setting around the war beaches. First time in an Ibis and very impressed. The decor is very modern but we loved it. There is a shopping centre and a load of restaurants very near by, we loved Hippopotamus

Very good stay, excellent family room and wide range of food at breakfast. Pleasant short walk up to castle and city centre from this modern hotel. Convenient underground car park with discounted charges. Several restaurants just around the corner. Mini pool and mini golf clubs outside breakfast room was great for our boys. Only let down by: dripping a/c unit on breakfast room ceiling, and reception staff could not provide one extra pillow

Good location, good breakfast and spacious room.

Has a connected suite that was basically two separate rooms linked together. Awesome. Breakfast decent too. Near train station and near tram and walking distance to city castle. Perfect location. Though bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you don't like their soap+shampoo all in one lotion.
