Posto spettacolare, esperienza unica.
We stayed in the room isolated from main building and it was very nice setting like a small house with newly renovated. They could bring our meals to our room and they wearing Kimono to prepare everything for us and it was amazing. The meals were delicious and they explained every little food they prepared. It has been a long time since I stayed in ryokan with meals and it was wonderful and my daughter was delighted. We even wore Yukata after bath which was in our room. Rooms were huge and very clean.
There was a bit of problems with ants in the corner of our bedroom, but as soon as I called and 2 employee came right away and cleaned very good and it had no more problems. They even offered us for another room, but we chose this room and we did not want to change at all. Thank you to their staffs for taking good care of the issues.
Our meals were excellent. The dinner was exceptional. One of the best meals we had in Japan. Excellent chef. The staff was lovely, the location was so peaceful and beautiful with views of the forest from our large, comfortable room. Would highly recommend and we hope to return as one night wasn’t enough!
rien
A once in a lifetime experience. Where we felt pampered and cared for from the minute we arrived. No request was a problem. Massage in the room was a treat. But the real highlight was the Michelin star food served in our rooms. We even had the dear down to our room. An absolute delight.
There is nothing we did not like.
A stunning experience and probably our favourite spot in Japan. We loved the magical location deep in the forest. This felt like an authentic ryokan stay, from the bamboo blinds to the grass and moss-covered roof, but with a liberal splash of elegant indulgence. Dinner and breakfast were pure performance art: intricate dishes elegantly presented by waitresses dressed in traditional kimono.
Nothing
The location was peaceful and serene. Really good distance from main temples so walking was beautiful and easy.
The food was beyond amazing, the hotel and setting couldn’t be more incredible, and the staff were all outstanding
Stunning location about 1.5km from the teeming hordes in Nara, but a world apart. The staff were amazing at every stage: such hospitality! Our spacious room was divine. The facilities were spotless. The 1/2 board food was wonderful! It was a joy to meet the head chef. This ryokan is top-notch and tremendously good value.
Comments—not “dislikes”: A selection of pillows would be nice and a way to shade the windows more fully against the rising sun would have let us sleep a bit longer.
Everything was amazimg. An experience you can only get in Japan.
Cadre très agréable. Excellent repas. Personnel agréable et très serviable
Rien
Location, amazing staff with Classic Japanese atmosphere. Very rich diner and breakfast. Private Onsen.
Beds are quite hard. Too much light in the morning.
Nieprawdopobne miejsce w środku lasu, atmosfera dawnej Japonii, kolacja złożona z 12 wyszukanych dań, do tego spożywana w kimonie
Great location, wonderfully well appointed
NA
One of the most special and beautiful places I have ever been
Service , food , place itself
This was a very traditional ryokan hidden away in the forest outside of Nara the food was fantastic Japanese food, the room was like an apartment with table and chairs looking out into the forest. It was cold when I was there in early March and although the central room was heated the bathroom and outer rooms were not. I didn’t mind this - it all added to the rustic charm. Very little English is spoken but the staff were lovely and went out of their way to be welcoming and we did manage to communicate. This was a very authentic experience and I loved it
Loved the uniqueness and location of the property. Very quiet and private retreat to experience true Japanese food and living, plus the staff were wonderful
Mattresses on the floor were uncomfortable for our age!
Traditional Japanese house right in the middle of Nara park. Very clean and cozy. It's just 6 rooms in this hotel so hurry up to book in advance. This is the only chance to see Nara and temples in the morning without crowds. Absolutely Michelin level traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast. So it's definitely a hidden gem.
Nothing
Beautiful location. Nice onsen. Wonderful staff. Good food and very plentiful. Booked great massage as well.
No complaints. Personally, would prefer beds on platforms versus floor but that is the ryokan experience.
Everything was perfect
The service was AMAZING
It was all amazing. Fantastic location, great food and lovely rooms
Unique location inside Nara Park made us feel one with nature.
Nothing.
We love this small hotel for its serene forest location and the opportunity to share a special family night in traditional accomodation. Dinner and breakfast were exceptional traditional Kaiseki style meals. Hotel is a close walk to the Kasuga Taisha Temple for those who don't mind the uphill forest walk home.
We left relaxed but also wanting to stay longer. A little cost prohibitive for a family.
This property is bang in the middle of a primeval forest, so if you enjoy nature, a zen atmosphere and spotting squirrels and badgers from your window and free colourful leaves falling, it is such an amazing and tranquil experience. I went in autumn. The experience is one of the best ryokan experiences in Japan I have ever had. The staff are there, incredibly polite to help you with your every whim. As this is ryokan etiquette, they assist in taking your shoes and give you the slippers you use for the ryokan. They run you the hot indoor onsen, and the service was absolutely impeccable. Likewise, you can choose to be independent and explore on your own - I liked how it was a beautiful 5 minute walk into the centre of Nara Park, and this was extremely convenient to see all the temples, deer, and tranquility in the area. It is also on a beautiful walking and hiking route, the food style is absolutely gorgeous and you get your own private dining room to set with your family and taste the entirety of the courses and drinks they have to offer. Surrounded by such beauty in nature was a sight to behold. The building itself is also really beautiful, dressed in yukatas, there are walkways which lead you through the buildings from the outside and if you really wanted you can just gaze from these corridors to the outdoor surroundings. For the onsen experience, you get every piece of equipment soap and shampoo you could need. A great experience, could not fault it, full credit to the absolutely amazing staff that make this stay so incredible. I was also amazed the staff put your bed out and put it back into a living room format during the day when you are out. Incredible.
Nothing to dislike.
Beautiful and serene! We loved the quiet and the trees, on the edge of Nara (and the deer.). We walked both through trees and in the city.
It was a wonderful experience staying at Tsukihitei, very private and in the middle of Nara Park. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful; they took care of every single detail, a unique Omotenashi experience. The food was also exceptional. I just wish I had arrived earlier to enjoy the facility a bit more.
One tiny little problem was finding it via Google Maps. Luckily, the taxi driver knew exactly where to go. But everything else was flawless.
In the woods. Traditional. Beautiful room and wooden bath in the room. Fantastic breakfast and dinner. Great service.
Hard to communicate if you don’t speak Japanese.
Stay here instead of a regular hotel, at least for one night! Everything, I didn't know what to expect, but it resulted in the best experience of the whole trip to Japan. At least one night, you should stay in a Ryokan. We loved everything, the reception, the warmth, the attentiveness, the room was spacious and very comfortable, the view of the woods, the silence, the beautiful experience during dinner, the great experience in the Onsen both times, both spaces ( Evening and morning), amazing breakfast. Really that place is magic, the staff running it so warm, and the space is incredible. A must if you are traveling to Osaka, Nara or Kyoto, access to Nara by train is super easy and just takes a short taxi ride to the Ryokan. You will be already in the nature side of Nara and can walk a few easy hikes to stunning areas of Nara.
Nothing I can think of, nothing to improve in my opinion.
Service and food were exceptional. The beauty and location in the ancient forest were exceptional.
We liked everything.
Rien
Dreamy place in the middle of the park. Authentic ryokan experience.
Wonderful hospitality and the most delicious food.
Nothing
Perfect location. Perfect hospitality. Perfect food. Perfect room. Hands down, this was the best stay we've had in any form of hotel or ryokan. Nara is an amazing place to visit, and Tsukihitei is THE place to stay in. Hidden in the most beautiful forest, just a short walk away from everything you want to see in Nara. The Roykan itself is built like fusion between zen garden and a Japanese palace.
Nothing:)
