Staff we met were very good.We we’re told our booking included continental breakfast served from 8.30 am.However when we went to get it,the door into the pub was still locked and there was no sign of anyone,so we just left.

Cleanliness, no breakfast despite being advised continental was served. Bathroom had lots of hairs in toilet, sink & shower.

The street is very busy and with supermarkets so we were woken very early by loud deliveries. The kitchen was out of order so no food when we arrived and only we went down for breakfast at 8.15 am and tried again at 8.35 am and the place was all locked up with no sign of staff ended up going two doors down to Lazy Dog cafe and had a lovely breakfast there! We saw when we went back it had opened up but was too late for us! A weekday breakfast should be available earlier

The room was pleasant and had cleaning bedding. Ensuite was clean but there was no shampoo in the holder only shower gel and conditioner. Plenty of hanging space.

I like to have a window open to let fresh air in but the traffic noise and people outside was loud. Also the continental breakfast was very poor. Only one type of jam - strawberry, no marmalade. Coffee and tea you had to make yourself. We decided to order a breakfast due to lack of continental which we ordered the night before. The breakfast was poor. I was quite surprised that the produce such as the sausages, bacon, etc. were not locally sourced considering we were in North Yorkshire which has some of the best produce locally from the farms and town butchers. Also the breakfast was warm and not hot. We paid £12.75 each for the breakfast which should have been included in the price as I had paid £103.88 for one night. I have stayed at other places in North Yorkshire and paid less than this and had a breakfast included. I made a mistake and thought the breakfast was included so that was my fault.

Great location on the market square and the room was really lovely. Very light, spacious and comfy.

As its a pub, you have to go through the pub to the rooms, so that may put some people off. The breakfast that was included was somewhat lacklustre, just cereal and normal cut bread for toast. All self service.

We stayed in Room 4 and our sleep was frequently interrupted by the very loud noise of a kitchen flue / vent literally right outside our window

the room Needed a deep clean, there was not a nice oder on their stairs. Room was red hot. oldish cheap wooden bed the made a loud squeaking noise every time you move, resulting in no sleep. No Shampoo or shower gel in the dispenser, I take my own so wasn't a problem, so not good. We left before 7am and there wasn't any staff in sight. over all for what they charge per room terrible experience.

Upon arrival, was shown to my room by a nice staff member. There was also a lady with dark hair serving the food who was absolutely delightful and had a conversation with me. Air conditioned pub which was perfect as there was a heatwave outside. Delicious food. My room was small and basic but for the price I paid it was adequate and acceptable. Spotlessly clean too.

Sadly, due to the extreme heatwave, the room was like an oven. This was out of their control, however, the curtain and window was wide open when I arrived, so had they closed the curtain it might have been a tad cooler. Kindly, they had given me a fan. Also there was no shower gel in the bottle on the wall. Other than that , fantastic ! 👍🙂

The staff were great, there was a guy on his first week and he was great, he was obviously doing his best and he did very well. The only other member of staff I met was the chef, she was also lovely. The bar was great value. The chicken Parm I had was excellent.

The light in the bathroom didn't work, so it was like a dim strobe light. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom so I had to use hand soap. There is a loud ish fan outside the window and I thought it was the kitchen ventilation but it turned on at weird times waking me up. The orange juice I had tasted off and the apple juice looked like it had mould at the bottom. The mushrooms also seemed a bit off. All the bread was very low quality too.

Breakfast for the first two mornings was dismal to say the least. Having complained to the team about lack of cereals, Bread that was out of date and stale no butter and milk that was off the following day was vastly improved. What was described as a continental breakfast is not at all in line with a continental breakfast breakfast Crescoints were only available once Extremely poor on the breakfast front and need tremendous improvement.

Nice clean spacious room. The shower was in excellent working order. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Adding the fan to the room was a great touch as it was certainly a warm night.

Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. Continental breakfast should mean a bit more than cereal and toast.

Bins in bedroom weren't emptied from the last residents. Room wasn't cleaned during our stay. No food on the evening we arrived. Tiny room, very soft mattress.

The bedroom was nice, clean and overall ok.

Staff were very poor. On arrival they didnt know what room we were in, then she wasent sure where the toom was. We went to the bar later for a drink, waited at the bar to be served but the 2 young girls were just talking to each other while customers waited. Eventually we walked out and went to another bar. The town was busy on sat night and when we returned the bar was totally empty and just the staff were in the pub.

In the middle of town. Very convenient above the pub and on the high street.

The early morning noise of traffic and the breakfast started too late. By 830am we had been awake for hours with the street noise and were on our way touring

Friendly staff, clean, comfy room with everything I needed for a short stay, great location, good value. Surprisingly quiet for a central pub on a Friday night. Only brief noise was other guests returning at 3am but not hotels fault and was short lived.

Staff were lovely and really helpful. We are returners and love this pub/hotel.

Saturday breakfast was superb as was the service. Sunday was then opposite. A number of guests sitting at tables waiting to see someone. When we went self serve they all just did the same. “Continental” breakfast was muesli that ran out and toast. Two very contrasting experiences.

Staff lovely. Room a really good size and was clean & comfortable. Great value for money! No noise from Green Dragon pub itself.

I want to caviat these points by saying that none of these factors would stop me staying again if I was in the area but I feel are useful to note: - Floors & bed very squeaky/creaky so you wake each other up a lot - noise from other pubs (we stayed Saturday) and people was very noticeable. Fine for us but if you are a light sleeper this might not be great over the weekend! - breakfast was average. The 2 slice toaster is so inadequate for breakfast for so many rooms! Coffee & tea cheap & basic. It did the job but I wouldn't personally pay for it if we went back.

The pub / hotel was great and an ideal location for exploring Yorkshire, The guy who welcomed me was great and very polite. The room was ideal, bed comfortable & clean bathroom.

The food menu had changed from last year and was no where near as good. The Continental breakfast was frankly abysmal, The girl serving breakfast showed no interest in me and did not even show me where to get the toast and cereal. 1/2 a bag of bread and a toaster + boiling water to make your own coffee is not acceptable for a continental breakfast. Tables weren't set. no coffee cups or glasses out - a proactive staff member is required.

The location was ideal as we had booked for a meal at a local restaurant and wanted to be able to walk to it. The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly. The room was decorated in an attractive and up to date style. Check in and check out were convenient and the information received prior to arrival accurate and helpful.

The breakfast was poor. There was a complimentary continental breakfast of fruit juice, porridge, cereal, yogurt and bread to make toast but there was no yogurt or porridge left when we got there and we weren't late. We had opted to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. We had bacon sandwiches and they were made from the cheapest, white sliced bread and 2 rashers of chewy bacon. Very disappointing. The coffee was instant and there was no choice of tea bags. On our 2nd morning we opted to have breakfast at the cafe next door which was lovely. The room was noisy until pub closing time but we had expected that given that it was a room above a pub on a main Street.The shower was disappointing with very low water pressure. The lighting in the bedroom was so dim that it was impossible to read in the evening unless you had a lit kindle.

Right in the middle of the small town, there is a long stay car park, which doesn’t charge between 1800 on Saturday to Monday, so ideal for weekend travel. The staff were very helpful and there are plenty of nearby shops and eateries. For a pub room, the bathroom was fantastic with a towel rail that kept the whole room warm. It has obviously been inserted into an old room in a coaching pub, so the sleeping area is small, but still fine. Quiet for a room facing on to the Main Street. One thing’s for certain, you will not sleep through the fire alarm!
