Acacia Cliffs Lodge

Amazing stay and beautiful location and B and B: quiet, clean and such a comfortable bed! The most wonderful part of our stay were our lovely hosts who spoiled us with a delicous breakfast and wine and appetizers every day. They were attentive and informative and went above and beyond especially when we experienced a flat tire. Please stay here! You will be so happy you did. A highlight of our New Zealand trip!

Accommodation was excellent. We booked dinner & it was exceptional, I would highly recommend planning on eating dinner there if you can.

Room was very comfortable with a beautiful view of the lake. Large bathroom with great features. In the evening Your hosts welcome you with drinks & appetizers & you will meet other guests who are staying there. Such a welcoming atmosphere.

The hosts were so very welcoming and accommodating. All my meals were wonderfully presented and VERY tasty! Even hand canapes each evening with a glass of wine. The views were stunning.

Stephanie and Neil are wonderful hosts, offering evening drinks and canapés, a welcome bottle of wine, delicious breakfast and lots of great tips for what to do in the area. We also enjoyed dinner at Acacia Cliffs one night - delicious. The room itself was spotless and spacious with stunning views across the lake. Our room had a balcony, which was a nice spot to unwind in the afternoon. There is also a shared lounge and dining area which similarly have amazing views. The property is in a quiet and peaceful location, which was ideal for us.

On 6 week tour and this was one of the best and nicest accommodations we stayed in . Do try to book dinner one night as it is exceptional and your hosts are marvellous cooks.

Great view and location

Thought it was quite expensive and although the dinner was delicious it was very expensive also.

This was a wonderful home located on the cliffs with a beautiful view. Service was exceptional. My fondest memories of the stay were sipping on tea and nibbling on cookies from the porch while listening to the chirping birds and watching the stars come out.

It was a bit expensive. However, I was there for the 70.3 World Championships so the cost was a result of the usual price inflation due for large events.

Amazing location, great layout, super friendly and engaging hosts. Excellent breakfast and BEST views over Lake Taupo. So close to the City and yet still far enough to feel peace & quiet.

The whole experience was unlike any I have experiences. You are basically welcomed into a family home and fed an incredible meal and wine.

We loved everything about our time at Acacia Cliffs. The home is lovely with an incredible view of Lake Taupo. Neil was a wonderful host, and we enjoyed spending time in the morning chatting with him. Unfortunately, Neil’s wife Stephanie was out of town visiting family, so we didn’t get the chance to meet her. We hope to return at some point in the future!

The hosts are so attentive and welcoming from the minute you arrive. The Lodge and rooms are spotless and very comfortable and the view is seriously amazing!! A lovely private getaway - definitely recommend

The Lodge was beautifully located overlooking Lake Taupo. Richard and Linda were perfect hosts and were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area and what to do and see. We had a wonder stay and would highly recommend it to others.

The hosts are both very welcoming and hospitable, nothing seemed too much for Lynda. She is a brilliant host & always smiling ! I loved their idea of letting guests use their laundry facilities ie washer & drier ! An excellent thought to detail I think as most guests are travelling for 3-4 wks . Lovely evening canapés with wine where one meets the other guests and can discuss their travel etc . We met some very interesting people. Excellent views of the lake Taupo .

The wow factor of this property is undeniable and the common spaces are well designed and exquisitely appointed. Our room, however, as spectacular as it was because of the view, was lacking in practicality. There was a huge double sink in the bathroom which had barely any counter space to place hairdryers, shaving necessities or toiletry bags. The private balcony chairs were metal and not very comfortable. There was a small side table on which to set a laptop but just barely and there were no units with drawers. The bedside tables were metal and tiny, again very little space on which to put things. If you are staying a while, you basically have to live in your suitcase.

Linda and Rick are excellent hosts! The lodge has breathtaking views and is most enjoyable to stay out. Rick is the chef and prepares wonderful breakfasts. Couldn't be happier! There are only 4 rooms at the lodge. We met the other guests and that added to our stay.
