Food was good and the hotel is in a quiet location
Good base for travelling to different places, friendly staff, good breakfast,
No issues
Central to get to Scarborough and Whitby ,
Always a warm welcome. Good size room and very clean. The meals were of a good standard.
Nothing.

Very comfortable place and staff are welcoming and friendly
Parking when they had a function was an issue
Clean, comfortable and very relaxing. Would definitely go back again. Food was excellent for both evening meal and breakfast.
Couldn't fault anything. Very pretty country inn. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Lovely staff. Good food.

The staff were so friendly couldn't do enough for us.The moment we arrived to leaving everyone was so nice.
Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location for visiting Scarborough Cricket Festival and the North Yorkshire area.
No issues at all. Facilities are limited to restaurant & bars (it is a pub).
Good sized room, great location, nice pub
Shower very low pressure
Location
Water pressure. It was quite warm.
We stayed in cottage 8 where the Queen used the facilities , fabulous, clean, comfy and well maintained, breakfast and dinner both fantastic, super hot and local produce. Staff super friendly and welcoming, only tiny niggle, there were no hooks on the bathroom for towels. What stood out was how clean the rooms and pub was a refreshing change. Location great 12 miles from Whitby and Scarborough set in a quiet village.
Nothing to dislike
Great stay for Saturday night,we stayed in number 10 which is separate from the main hotel,it was clean and tidy, Tony and Debbie were very friendly host and Tony behind the bar was polite and friendly also a mention to the lady at breakfast who was very helpful and friendly, took time to talk to us even though she was busy and knew my partners family in Whitby.
No problems at all.
Location , food , room and staff were great
Nothing really
Welcoming and comfortable
All good
The staff were helpful and provided me with a gluten free breakfast.
The stay wasnt actually at the pub but in small apartments. Just a few quibble like the bathroom tap working the wrong way and the toilet really hard to flush.
The Inn and bar area are so lovely as are the staff cannot do enough for you. Food fabulous. Stayed here twice now. Will definitely be back.
Nothing at all.
Close enough to Scarborough but away from the noise and busyness. Quaint little pub, good breakfast, small but comfy room above pub, very quiet.

Lovely staff good location food great and bedroom very comfortable
If there was anything it was a low pressure shower that was the worst thing
Every thing was very good.

Loved the little cottages that we stayed in at the back of the pub, very quiet and secluded and very nicely modernised and decorated. Was really good that our motorbikes could be parked just outside the window in the adjacent car park.
Although there was a vegetarian option at breakfast, it would’ve been really nice to see that the venue catered for allergies like gluten-free or non-dairy. I have a huge nondairy issue and so, it left limited options, for coffee, and cereal. The cooked breakfast however was very welcome and well done.
Breakfast was very good, staff very attentive, food delicious.
Small things that should have been corrected before we arrived. Wardrobe door did not close so bin was put in front to keep it closed. The wardrobe handle was glued on and came off in my hand. Extension lead by bed rattled which I’m sure can’t be safe. Hand wash bottle on sink had a broken top so would not pump out. Temperature on shower was very temperamental, hard to regulate.
Great atmosphere and very pleasant caring staff.
Cosy atmosphere.
Staff very helpful clean rooms breakfast lovely
Lovely welcoming staff. Perfect location for walking the Cleveland Way. Bus stop to Scarborough right by the pub.
Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it.

Cleanliness was brilliant, food was great also
Probably could have been a bit more comfy mattress could feel springs. But nothing that bothered us.
Comfortable bed great power shower friendly service great breakfast easy to get into Scarborough on public bus fantastic night away
Location ideal for wedding we were attending, beds are comfy, good nights sleep!
Shower was not very powerful and breakfast only available between 8.30-9.30 but service was very slow.
Clean good car park bar/reception lady was friendly - we ate evening meal early at 530pm which was fine except chef served well done steaks not medium rare- but fud change it and re do for one member of our party.
Bed & pillows very hard & uncomfortable. Only 1 small bottle of water per room for 2 unchilled. No night porter do on return at 11.20 could not get a drink of anything not even iced water Cooked Breakfast was not great coffee horrible and again no cold water
Oh what can't you not like, this Country Inn gives you everything you are looking for, clean, great friendly staff, super food, ( award winning suppliers ),I consider one of the best breakfasts we have had. There's one small point you all should consider, our late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, visited the Blacksmiths arms for a traditional pub lunch now for me, if its good enough for our late queen, its good enough for us all. Keep up the quality and great service, all the very best The Blacksmiths Arms Inn.

Very comfortable bed...slept like a log. Adequate sized room. Clean. All staff friendly and helpful.
Bathroom a little dated but was clean and served well. No big problem.

From start to finish was a fab stay food out standing , staff so friendly felt like home
Very nice and comfortable stay in a good old fashioned ‘ typically English ‘ inn/ pub. Traditional menu and hearty servings for both dinner and breakfast.
Lovely stay. Lovely clean rooms really good value for money. Breakfast was beautiful with ententive staff.
Fabulous room, very comfy bed, geat breakfast In a lovely location just outside of Scarborough Staff friendly and helpful Beautiful place to stay!

Nice country pub, clean room. Great location for Scarborough open air theatre, 6 mins in a taxi. Food was just average, nothing special. The cooked breakfast was a little greasy for our liking, but nice fresh fruit & excellent coffee. Lovely team of staff, very friendly & helpful. Would recommend for 1 or 2 nights.
Unfortunately just the greasy breakfast!
Very friendly staff..
Vegetarian breakfast.... It's not a vegetarian breakfast, because pretty much everything is cooked in lard.. My wife was notified that the scrambled eggs were cooked in lard. But then so were the mushrooms, fried bread etc..
Great location, free parking and a lovely room. Staff were so friendly too.
Good size, very clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Well-cooked, unfussy food both at dinner and breakfast. Decent beer and wine choices. Easy parking.
A bit of traffic noise we are not used to. If windows are opened a bit of generator (?) noise.
All of it lovely rooms great service and staff

Shower had no power unavailable to shower
Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Fabulous property. Room was spotless and very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
Absolutely nothing to pick fault with
The room was clean and welcoming.
Although the staff were friendly, some of the customers were a bit grumpy. The food was okay, but not amazing value for money.

Car parking was great, the room was in a building outside the pub and lovely and quiet. Great breakfast with good veggie sausages. Ideal location for our family wedding in Ravenscar.
Nothing spoilt our visit
A historic coaching inn full of character . Well positioned for Whitby and Scarborough and the North York Lahore moors in general . There are a dozen or so bedrooms both above the pub and in outbuildings

The accommodation was very comfortable and in a great location for exploring Yorkshire with Whitby and Scarborough close by. It’s also a great location for walking in the moors. We dined here and the food was lovely as well as the breakfast and the staff were helpful and friendly. It’s also an ideal location for concerts in Scarborough.
Room excellent and food very good
Perfect

every was just perfect , had a lovley stay
limited dairy free options , had milk but no dairy free butter , but was a lovley breakfast
Small country atmosphere and loved the story of the Queens visit!
The overall experience

Convenient for Scarborough coast
Nice pub and exceptional meal
Very friendly and clean . Very comfortable bed and great breakfast .
Very helpful when we wanted to stay an extra night due to family emergency. The room was good and beds comfy, and plenty of parking. I had to work during the day and the WiFi was great for that, only wish the restaurant was open later as we didn’t get to eat there but as it was midweek and out of season we understand why. Pub quiz on Wednesdays!
Restaurant opening ours..
Good food clean and very friendly

Everything the location was good the place was amazing and clean and the food was excellent I would recommend 😋 👌
The morning we had to leave lol
Extremely friendly accommodating service. Great evening meal, quiz and breakfast. Couldn't do enough for us!
All good!
Staff, Rooms, and food
Microwaved mushrooms for breakfast.
Everything, the rooms excellent, food amazing, staff helpful, setting amazing
Nothing I didn't like
The location was good, parking and WiFi all good
The shower was either freezing or boiling, sanoflo system very noisy from other rooms in the night, the breakfast was not as described items missing from listing /menu and fround at when asked for them , Sunday breakfast only 1hr long, only one cloice of fruit , only 1 flavour of yogurt, the staff were nowhere to be seen at checkout so just left key on bar
Free Parking, comfortable spacious room and great English Breakfast. Wonderful staff, all helpful.
I would like to see bathrooms converted to shower rooms.
Perfect place for a night away Lovely staff Gorgeous food
Lovely spacious room. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating.
Nit picking, but the shower water pressure was not the best. Nice and hot though.
We stayed in a cottage room which I assume we’re originally stables, quite adequate for what we needed , comfortable and clean huge bathroom with a great shower, pleasant attentive staff, good breakfast, would we stay there again, absolutely.
Clean, friendly, good location
Firm beds, room a touch small.
Cosy pub atmosphere, clean accommodation and had everything we needed for a one night stay. We stayed for an evening meal and the food was lovely and tasty.
Very pleasant quiet room in the car park area with country outlook, and easy connection to the main property. Food and service Very good. On my second night the restaurant was hosting a party in the main restaurant, and despite being very busy maintained a friendly and efficient service.
Lovely old world Inn beautifully presented throughout. Very comfortable and cosy. Food was excellent very fresh fish
The food
One of the breakfast waitress was quite curt with my husband and I for no reason when we said good bye she didn't have the common decency to reply.
Breakfast was excellent and plenty of onsite parking. Nice quiet village location.

Stayed while walking the Cleveland Way. Unexpected bonus. Clean, comfortable, good food, good room and the finest pint of Timothy Taylor landlord.
Room was nice and as expected. Dinner was very good and reasonable value for money.
There was no soap for the basin in the bath room, just the shower gel near the bath. Breakfast could be better, the scrambled eggs were overcooked and had a dusting of something on them that didn't improve the flavour. I guess you could ask for them to be cooked less and not have whatever it was added.
A warm welcome when we arrived. We spoke to the bar staff on the phone before we arrived and they were very accommodating, we could arrive anytime after mid day which was great. Evening meal and breakfast very good and a decent selection of beers etc in the bar. Very friendly team of people and will be returning.
Everything was spot on - nothing to improve on
The staff were friendly and helpful, everything was clean, the beds were comfy, the food was good. We asked for an early breakfast and were provided with it.
We didn't know we would be in an outside room and would have preferred to be in the pub itself as the room felt a bit cold when we arrived, although the heating worked well. I would rather be upstairs.
A lovely cozy traditional English pub in a small village just outside Scarborough. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfy bed. A very relaxing stay. Ample parking in the car park at the rear
Grat location and excellent breakfast. Freshly cooked and well presented.
Lovely accommodation, room was exceptional, warm and clean. Breakfast and evening meal was gorgeous, bar is warm and friendly with a lively open fire. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Will definitely stay here again
