Fernhill House Hotel & Gardens

Amazing family owned hotel I stayed for three nights in September as a woman on her own I found it very safe and comfortable, the gardens were incredible and it was lovely to take a walk after breakfast. The breakfast was included and it was amazing using freshly sourced ingredients from the area. Over all everything was perfect, can’t recommend this Hotel enough.

Beautiful hotel, lovely overnight Summer stay. Room was absolutely gorgeous.. Huge with big bathroom and huge bathtub. Gardens are stunning, a lovely place for a wedding I would say. Great staff and lots of them around, especially at dinner time. Quick and efficient. Located just outside the town but on a hill with stunning country views. Some building work happening at present but I can see the need for extra rooms as it is a stunning location for weddings.. It didn't disrupt our stay. We will be back to stay again. Lovely hotel.

Amazing! Our stay was perfect from check in, to complimentary drinks, to a clean & comfortable room, to a delicious full breakfast, to the wonderful garden tour. Everyone was genuinely pleasant, kind, & courteous. So far, this was our favorite hotel on our trip to Ireland. Thank you!

A really lovely hotel and a very relaxing stay. Plenty of space to sit with a drink or book and obviously beautiful gardens to explore. Food was delicious! Staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing.

This was a beautiful hotel on expansive grounds. The restaurant was very good with reasonable prices.

My sister and I have just spent 2 most enjoyable 2 nights at the Fernhill Hotel in Clonakilty. Everything was amazing from the warm welcome at Reception, the comfortable bedroom and exceptional food. The breakfast was fabulous and dinner most enjoyable. The hotel is lovely but the staff are fabulous - everyone was so pleasant and helpful and cheerful. Enormous thank you to you all

Two day business trip, Cork was booked up but so glad we found the Fernhill and Clonakilty. Beautiful Hotel with the best breakfast ever shame Clonakilty called for the evening as I’m sure the restaurant would have been lovely. Very friendly and helpful staff, will be back

Very friendly & welcoming staff. Gardens were really beautiful, was a shame it was raining so much. Very comfortable rooms.

Our 2 night stay at Fernhill was fabulous. All the staff were super nice and friendly, The room was clean, spacious and we were welcome with a couple of lovely gifts (chocolate and free drink). The garden is well worth a visit, enjoyed seeing the lights, the plants and all the bees. We also had a drink at the bar and ate of an evening, this was very good and so was the breakfast. Probably our nicest stay away ever. Thanks to all who made it happen at Fernhill.

What a beautiful area!!! Lovely hotel and beautiful grounds. Would make an exceptional venue for weddings, it looks magical for that. Staff was friendly upon arrival. Evening service staff in restaurant need more experience, although they were very friendly. Breakfast was very nice and filling with local offerings. Overall a wonderful stay!

We stayed overnight and had dinner in the hotel. Social distancing good and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Lovely grounds. Room well appointed but ours did not have much light as it looked out to an outside corridor. All in all a good stay

Fabulous stay of 2 nights. The staff were excellent. Fantastic menu for Coeliacs with great choices and the food was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Really enjoyed our two night stay here. The staff were very professional and friendly on difficult Covid circumstances. The breakfast was really nice and freshly made. We did not have dinner at the hotel. Room was clean and plenty of hot water available. Staff adjusted our reservation with minimal fuss at our request.

Very enjoyable relaxing stay at Fernhill, comfortable spacious room with veranda. The food was very good and hotel grounds were picturesque. Staff were nice and obliging. All good.

Visiting family in Clonakilty- such a smart and comfortable hotel of top quality and friendly and helpful staff, lovely food and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Added bonus of a wonderful garden would recommend v v highly

Very pleasant stay as our last night before an early start for the airport.

We loved the hotel and gardens in general. However, we were disappointed that the bed we had was so soft, we did not sleep well. We are used to sleeping on a firm bed at home.

Great dinner and a great, reasonably priced wine. Wonderful service.

Hotel was beautiful and the staff were incredibly helpful. The first room (104) had a noisy AC unit outside which was active until early in the morning. However, once I mentioned it the staff were extremely apologetic and immediately moved me into a very quiet room upstairs. Food is great, hotel and grounds are spacious, elegant and beautiful. Despite the early hiccup, Fernhill House is still highly recommended!

The hotel was a delight from start to finish ,the disabled room (214) was the best I have been in basically his and hers bathrooms ! The staff should get a mention their enthusiasm and happy demeanour meant so much to our stay ,meals were great breakfast white pudding was the best I’ve ever had this is a family owned class hotel where nothing was too much trouble

The view from the hotel was fantastic, the staff where helpful and friendly. My only complaint was the pillows where a bit hard. Food good, lounge wonderful. Receptionist more than helpful on places to visit.

Fernhill is like a “Home Away From Home” for us. it is so comfortable staying there with lovely garden & surroundings & quiet. A lovely fire in the entrance makes it so cosy & welcoming. The staff are very friendly & helpful. Food is freshly made & very tasty. The Full Irish is a good start to each day. We will always stay there when on vacation in West Cork.

Very nice hotel, 5 minute drive to town, fantastic breakfast part buffet part a'la'cart, beautiful gardens and views of the countryside, helpful staff. Didn't use the restaurant and pub room on-site, but they looked good.

From the moment we arrived we could feel the lovely atmosphere that prevailed through all our stay,in reception,bar,dining room. There was a sense that the guest mattered,and people were more than willing to be of any assistance,if required. We loved our visit,and will try to be back again. Mary in Co. Clare.

Regularly visiting a customer in the area and have stayed here on business around six times now. The fact I keep picking this hotel is testament enough, I think.

Thoroughly enjoyed stay at the hotel. Would recommend anyone staying in Cork area give it a try. Staff were amazing and felt so relaxed heading home.

Michael O'Neill was extremely helpful in making our stay even better He provided sound advice on what to do as well as what NOT to do. He came out from behind reception when we were asking for directions x 2 to a certain attraction and he explained what was a better choice. One girl at reception handed us a piece of paper and returned to her duties. Breakfast was delicious & cooked to order. The choice of a mini Irish was perfect Thank you

Absolutely loved this place! Perfectly perfect. The breakfast is the best experience of any. Special care is put into EVERYTHING! From the gardens to the staff, from the comfortable beds to the amazing views.... so lucky to have found this place!!

Really enjoyed our stay. Staff very welcoming. We ate in the hotel restaurant both evenings and the food was good. We particularly liked the home made bread and ate far too much! Clonakilty is a very nice place to visit. Terrific scenery nearby and lots to see and do. Thoroughly recommend the hotel and the area.

Wonderful hospitality; very friendly and helpful staff. Room very clean and quiet. Within walking distance to the town of Clonaquilty, so able to visit one of the pubs in evening without having to take car. Breakfasts beautifully served with great service from the server. Lovely menu. Enjoyed evening meal at the bar.

Hands down this was the best hotel we stayed at while we stayed in Ireland, and we went around the whole island! Not only was the hotel and gardens beautiful, the staff was very friendly! The beds were like heaven to sleep in. And in the morning when we slept in, they stayed late to make us made-to-order breakfast! I wish I could stay there every day!
