The room was very clean, check in was quick. enjoyable stay would stay again. Location was brilliant just what i needed would recommend
Clean room and very comfortable bed.
Room and facilities were very good. Only disappointment was breakfast and that cappuccinos are not included. At the price of a room, it was a surprise

Excellent price, beautiful location, facilities very clean and well equipped bathroom. Would’ve been nice to have a double mattress instead of two single beds, but it worked well anyway. Excellent stay, no complaints
Clean and spacious, clubhouse dining good
I returned to the hotel as it's convenient for Basingstoke and in a nice setting. The beds are comfortable and they have different pillows to suit your needs. The hotel was generally clean although the shower could use a deeper clean around the edges.
Great
A short drive from Basingstoke into the countryside, it was a nice quiet night at the Sandford Springs Hotel. Might go back and try the golf some day.
Great apart from had to wait till I’d finished breakfast for hash brown and black pudding.
I have been here a few times and it has always been a lovely stay
Great hotel, super friendly staff and beautiful rooms. I will be back
Nice quiet location, good restaurant easy parking. Good size room.
Great location with lovely rooms. The food was great
The hotel and staff were very friendly and the rooms especially the beds were very comfortable. Excellent breakfast The only issue was problem was they don’t seem to have a fully functional bar although drinks were available.
Absolutely Perfect
I’ve been working in the area for a couple of months now with a need to overnight one or two days a week - I was beginning to give up on finding a quiet comfortable hotel offering facilities at a reasonable price when a colleague recommended the Stanford hotel. I had a great night sleep the food was reasonable and well priced and the staff very accommodating. It cost a little more but was worth the extra to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go.
Food expensive and dissappointing.
Checking in was quick and easy. Condition of room was good. I would have stated excellent but for inadequate lighting, no desk light, and no light above the wardrobe mirror door. The condition of shower sealant was black in a few places. We had to walk to the club house in the evening in the dark. The Street lights leading up to the clubhouse were inadequate as you couldn't see the path you had to walk on. Easy to trip up just before the entrance of the club house.
Lovely location. Very friendly staff and the evening meals from the restaurant were fabulous. I stay in a lot of hotels across the UK and the chefs here are top class. Thank you.
Lovely place. Lovely food and a great night’s sleep.
I’ve stayed here 5 times now. The staff are really friendly and the food was lovely.
I have stayed here a few times now. The staff are really friendly and the hotel is modern and quiet.
A relaxing modern hotel with good food options.
All good
Nice hotel with spacious and comfortable room. Food in restaurant was OK. Service for breakfast was a little lacking though. Some items had run out and took a while to be replenished. Otherwise was a good stay.
good service and very helpful staff.
Beautiful clean rooms
A very good stay. Nice staff and room. Breakfast very good. Shower could do with some mould cleaner.
Very clean
Nice room and bathroom. Only downside is you have to walk to the golf club for evening meal.
Helpful staff
Was looking forward to the stay thinking it would be of a good standard. May as well just gone to premier inn where at least the staff have manners. Room had mould on walls and bed was uncomfortable with holes in the bedding. And van parked outside our room. Alarm kept sounding from around 11 pm. On contacting reception the man on the phone physically laughed at me about it. It took 3 phoncalls to eventually get this sorted. So got no sleep really was really annoyed and upset. No managers on checking out and still awaiting a response. Also the onsite restaurant was closed as they had set it up ready for a wedding the next day and the bar menu very limited
We chose this location because it's fairly close to Stonehenge and Highclere Castle. Beautiful looking golf course, rooms were reasonably priced but the fish and chips in the restaurant were fantastic - ate it both nights.
Stay was nice rooms very comfortable, breakfast was great few cobwebs in bathroom. Bit overall was good
Great Comfortable rooms, very clean hotel, absolutely wonderful night manager, very friendly and welcoming.
An ideal base for visiting family and past ‘stomping grounds’.
Very clean and tidy, good food and great service.
Nice hotel, friendly service and clean room.
Could not fault the service, the room, food or golf course (which for most is probably the reason to stay). It is a tucked away, which adds to the beauty and peacefulness. However, we could not get a taxi at short notice, so you really need to be prepared to drive or organise in advance - obviously not the hotels fault. There is not much outside seating to enjoy the weather and views when not golfing but I would stay again.
Excllent experience. We had s suite with 3 rooms! Gorgeous! Dinner and breakfast wonderful! Lots of fun in the bar overlooking the golf course. Great service! We loved our stay ❤️
The hotel setting is lovely with the golf course wrapping around the hotel. Staff are very efficient and helpful. We only had breakfast which was to a good standard. We're sure to return!
Had a great stay the night before visiting Highclere Castle. Everything from checking in, having breakfast and checking out was so easy. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Don't hesitate to book this hotel.
Lovely place to stay, clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent.
Great room, great staff. 10/10
Nice quiet hotel, easy to get to from Basingstoke, food was good and overall for a business traveller its a good option.
Excellent stay. Lovely grounds and local area. Staff polite and helpful, clean. Did not eat at the restaurant but all else was amazing!
Stayed for the night on our way to a cruise, hotel is so lovely and clean and staff very friendly and helpful Very nice breakfast with caring staff who made sure it was safe for me with my nut allergy
GREAT PLACE TO STAY EXCEPT ITS A BIT OF WALK TO RESTERAUNT
Lovely room very spacious, wonderful setting, dinning in the club house not such a good experience but only because of the constant noise of the tv
Excellent hotel room, very clean spacious and comfortable and everything you needed. No facilities on hotel site but bar and restaurant on golf course. Remote so access to any shops or food was a drive away
Ok property
Very modern room with comfortable fittings. Large comfy bed and a great breakfast
A really clean and up to date hotel unlike many others in the area
Shortly after arrival, my wife had a messy accident. This was dealt with promptly, professionally and in person by the receptionist who reflected great credit on the hotel, his manager and himself. As I had no issue with any element of our stay, i can only award the hotel a maximum score but we regard this stay as outstanding and will go out of our way to revisit any time we are in the area.
Very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast and quiet location. There is an EV charger but this is available for use by non hotel guests / golf players so we did have to check the availability frequently to be able to charge our car. We were given a very neat and clean room but when I went into the bathroom the smell of mould was overpowering. The reception staff were very helpful and immediately arranged for a different room. The second room was much larger. While the mould didn’t smell in the bathroom, it was still very much present in the corners and seal of the shower door, and the sink overflow was thick with black mould. Around the bedroom window the mould was also very visible. White vinegar is very low cost so I’m not sure why the mould problem hasn’t been addressed, some working extractor fans in the bathroom would also be beneficial. I would like to stay at this hotel again as it is potentially excellent, but I’m very reluctant unless the cleaning is improved.
Absolutley loved it and the room we stayed in was just amazing shame we were only here for one night. Will be back with the golf clubs next time.
I stayed just one night on business. Great location and so lovely and quiet. The rooms are immaculate. Bed super comfy. All sparkling shower and bathroom. I have booked again for next when when I return to the area.
Friendly staff, very clean and spacious rooms at an excellent price. Would recommend staying here.
Posh restaurant area not available to hotel guests, actual restaurant and bar a long walk from hotel, good job it wasn’t raining…
Lovely hotel with great breakfast!
Absolutely disappointed with the room, view and facilities for the price I booked a king room in February and was given 2 hard uncomfortable single beds pushed together. The bedding was rough and we couldn't reach the bedside tables or lights. I had to put my wash things and make up on the floor as no where else to place them in the bathroom. The room was tired and outdated, 3 modern cushions on the bed does not make a room modern. If the hotel think this is appropriate for a disabled person they should be ashamed. The cistern was noisy and broken making a noise all night. When we reported the issues we were told that as we booked through hotels.com so we could not expect anything better amd even though I booked a king bed would only ever get 2 uncomfortable single beds pushed together. They also said rooms were allocated a week before even though i booked it 6 months in advance. I booked this for a special occasion and felt very let down. A travelodge would have been better for half the price. Beware if booking through hotels.com as they will treat you worse than other customers even if you pay handsomely as we did. I would have taken more photos to show how poor this room was but was unable to charge my phone
Limited menu , food ok
Good place to stay great breakfast. But confusing to find the restaurant and seemed a little disorganised but otherwise really nice stay
Very nice
Lovely, a pleasant good sized room and bathroom. The gym was not what I expected at the hotel they call it a mini gym (simply room 1 but instead of a bed three cardio machine) - I’m not sure I’d like to be staying in the room next door (room 2).
Lovely hotel staff very helpful lovely stay
Fantastic modern rooms in a quiet location. Very good value overnight stay. Personnel on site were very friendly and helpful. Great overnight stay and would stay here again if in the area.
We loved our stay at Sandford :) receptionist welcomed us in a very professional manner (i forgot his name) and also found paracetamol for me (life saver!). Room was very nice, quiet and big! We had no problems at all
Nice room, enty of space, great breakfast
Annoying electric charging point not been working for a few days
Nice rooms with bed comfy beds. Very clean.
Great beds clean and well maintained
Recommended, lovely place - meal was good, however you have to walk across the car park - luckily it wasn't raining.
Booked table in the clubhouse. Very good food and service.
With regards to the cleanliness and comfort of the room I have no complaints whatsoever. A comfy queen size bed and quiet location ensures a good nights sleep. On the negative side I can’t remember staying in any hotel that doesn’t have a bar/restaurant on site. Apart from the bedrooms and a breakfast room that opens up in the morning, there’s nothing in the same building. If you want a drink then you have to walk 200mm across the car park into the club house where there is a small golf club bar located upstairs. This feels a little unusual - almost like you’re trespassing on someone’s private property! I’d highly recommend this hotel if you’re just interested in getting your head down for the night but certainly wouldn’t recommend it for any bar/restaurant or entertainment purposes.
Liked the fact the hotel was very quiet and the room was spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel lacked atmosphere and the bar area was not really a place to spend the evening as it was just a few seats to the side of the dining area.
Nice hotel on the golf course. Clean and well maintained.
Nice location, nice views out of the room
Lovely quiet hotel very clean room we only arrrived at 11pm enroute to Southampton for a cruise the next day so wevwere only there overnight but would definately return
The hotel was lovely, spotlessly clean, staff so polite and attentive and the food was scrumptious.
The room was big and clean. It was a ground floor room which was equipped for disabled guests so
Excellent room and facilities breakfast with the worst coffee we have ever had let’s the room down.
The front desk staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable, it was very impressive. The rooms were modern, quiet and very clean.
Stayed here on a business trip. Hotel is lovely, clean and modern. Cannot be faulted. The staff however, i have never stayed somewhere the staff are so miserable and put out at any request. The place was quiet and staff stood around but say hello and you get no response at all. Ask for a table in the bar or a cup of tea at breakfast and its the equivalent of asking a child to do homework. Honestly very poor service. Try Norton park. Just as nice a hotel but staff service is pleasant.
We had a wonderful day at Sandford, Very clean and the rooms are very big, friendly staff and even though there was only one lady serving breakfast she was very friendly and said one of her coworker has gone on break for an hour and she was left on her own.
The room and hotel overall was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. However there was an occasion where there were two spiders in the toilet and there is also no ventilation in the bathroom. This was the downside for us as the bathroom and room felt stuffy. We called the reception to get the spiders removed and they came straight away which was excellent.
stayed here in our visit to Highclere castle. Very quiet. Breakfast was great.
A very nice venue with comfortable rooms, good golf and friendly staff. Just the one bugbear the bar closes very early. Just after 10.00pm on our trip.
Nice hotel, very golf focussed with bar not in hotel but adjacent golf club
friendly service, great breakfast
Lovely quiet secluded hotel. Was a bit further afield than my usual stays on business, but was pleasantly surprised. Everything was clean and spotless and rooms very decent size and modern. My only very very minor criticism was I wish it had slightly bigger gym facilities - otherwise simply cannot fault.
Good location , good sized rooms and bed etc . Umbrellas, if needed , provided for you to walk over to the Clubhouse for the evening meal , breakfast in the hotel itself . Whole place had a feeling of space and relaxation . No USB sockets in the room though plenty of 13A UK mains sockets , used the bathroom shaver socket to plug in my continental usb charger . Overall would be pleased to use again
Faultless stay, lovely scenery, excellent food, excellent service from all the staff. Easy parking near the reception, large room which was very clean and comfortable and placed in between Newbury and Basingstoke so very well located for me. I will definitely be using this hotel in the future!!
Nice rooms, quiet, good location, could do with bath, but shower was excellent, nice view.
Stayed for 2 nights whilst moving out of the house I shared with an ex. Comfortable and the room was a really good size and very clean. Only things I'd flag are that the Wi-Fi wasn't great (granted it's in the countryside so probably a factor) so I missed messages from people unless I was in WhatsApp. The other thing and maybe that was exclusive to my room (and it wasn't a big deal really) was that the tv switch seemed to only have a few buttons working, so I could change the channel and the volume but that seemed to be the extent of what I could do.
Everything about this hotel is excellent apart from intermittent signal on the room television. I'm assuming it's Freeview, and perhaps in a poor area??
The facilities where very nice and clean. But the staff was amazing, doing everything they could to make our stay a pleasant one.
Very nice hotel, good location, easy parking. good breakfast
