Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely evening meal and big hearty breakfast. Great value for money.
Food was brilliant staff great
Too many stairs but that is just getting older
Excellent experience staying at the Bull's head, food (dinner and breakfast) was first class and the room and bathroom was great. Really great value.
All the food was freshly cooked and very good value for money
Friendly staff, comfortable room.
Location great but a little noisy.
The bulls head was a very comfortable and homely stay. The room was great sized and well thought out. We had the adjoining room with the kids, their space made them feel so grown up. Sally the owner is a gem and being a local makes you feel very welcomed and she has great local knowledge of the surrounding area. Breakfast was delish, the kids thouroughly enjoyed their pancakes. Sally is so lovely to talk to. Her Inn is something of a rarity these days with the old cosy fashioned style that we love

It was a stopping off point to home
The mattress was uncomfortable
Stayed here many times and return for the quality and service which never fails. Food is incredible and the staff will do as much as they can to assist you. Will be back next year for my 3rd year
there is nothing to not like
breakfast was very good
Fabulous food.
All was well.
Choice was good and nice to eat in the breakfast room and not the pub.
Decor dated but ok
Staff friendly, bed comfy, food very good
Très cosy, confortable ! Dîner et déjeuner délicieux , personnel très sympathique !
Goed verblijf. Lekker ontbijt met keuze mogelijkheden. Vriendelijk personeel.
Zeer hard bed. Jammer, anders was het perfect geweest.
Old fashioned public house with a comfortable room and excellent breakfast.
Whilst the hotel location was central for Milnthorpe, the main road was very noisy.
Everything went perfectly
No complaints atall
Breakfast was great accomodation fine
Camera accogliente, pulita, confortevole. Lo staff è stato molto gentile e disponibile. Il posto è silenzioso e pieno di pace e vicino c’è una bellissima passeggiata in mezzo alla natura. È stato molto piacevole cenare lì.
Perfect for a one night stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room, though very small, was spotlessly clean and the breakfast the morning after was well cooked, well presented and very tasty! I would stay here again.
There was nothing not to like!
We stayed at the Bulls Head last year on our way back from Scotland. We liked it so much that we stayed there both going up and coming back this year. Can't praise it highly enough. Great staff who make you very welcome and always go the extra mile. Well appointed rooms and great food - both dinner and breakfast. Would highly recommend the Bulls Head to anyone

Friendly staff, Great booze, Tasty Food
Sehr netter Empfang beim Check Inn, wir hatten ein Familienzimmer zu Dritt . Dies war großzügig geschnitten. Es gab einen Wasserkocher, Tee, Kaffee. Das englische Frühstück fanden wir klasse!
Great location for the Lake District and parking close by. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and had what we needed. The breakfast was plentiful with a good choice.
Nothing!
The pub was great, the price of the drinks are really cheap and the breakfast was incredible it has everything you need
The only thing is the stairs a bit steep but that's just being picky.
Conveniently located along our northward route, with parking for guests.
Beautiful cooked breakfast with plenty of choice. Evening meals soo good.
Overall great stay, I found the stairs a little difficult I needed to be fitter lols
Friendly staff,good food,good location
Charming old inn

Super friendly staff, very flexible. Great location for South Lakes and Dry Stone Walling Course. Ample car parking. Good selection of shops.
Can't think of anything
Lovely friendly staff. Nice food, parking
Very tired, need a refurb
The pub in the hotel has excellent food. The breakfast was included and was outstanding.
There was good car parking It was clean and comfortable Staff were lovely and helpful Food was good
Spotless and very comfortable
Great room and restaurant
We had a room with two kids . So they gave us a connected room . Which was good as kids were not away.
It was a one night stay so may be second floor and I couldnot take my luggage ( big bags ) to room .
Shane was amazing! He met us on one of the hottest afternoons of the year. After arriving by bicycle, he gave us a safe place to store our bikes, served us pints and cracked jokes until we cooled down. He recommended the Friday fish and chips special which was some of the best we’ve had in our lives (we are experts, much to our waistly detriment). Our attic room was hotter than Hades, but there was a tiny fan, a tiny window, and cookies, so we only felt like we were sleeping in a 160 degree oven instead of 200 (Not to be helped as it was over 30 degrees outside). He showed the World Cup game in the pub on the big screen and served a crowd of hundreds with a good attitude despite the torturous temps. The next morning Shane greeted us with bleary eyes and a great sense of humor, despite closing down the pub. He served us an English breakfast that was again above average, and he even had time for some good conversation about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. This inn is old, yes. But the floors and woodwork gleam with stories untold, the food is hearty, and the beds are clean and unfussy. But what made this stay special for us was the warmth (literally and figuratively) with which we were treated by our new friend Shane. He was a star in an otherwise steamy English sky of our bike journey from Lands End to John o’Groats.
Shaun was extremely helpful and supportive throughout our check in procedure. Hello went out of the way to come and booked the table at Indian Restaurant very next to the hotel. Thank You So Much Shaun 👍 Breakfast was excellent 👌
Great hosts, lovely food, good room
Breakfast was fabulous, freshly cooked to order. Room was quite compact but a comfortable bed, USB ports provided for charging phones, large walk in shower, non slip tiles on the floor, very clean. Tea/coffee facilities & biscuits. Independently owned, and they work very hard to give a great stay for a low price, so it worked well for us as we were passing through. The owner was a very pleasant friendly lady. They have a good selection of cask ales, and were very cheap. We were travelling down from Scotland, so too late for dinner, but they had a good menu at reasonable prices.
Only the size of the room, as there was no room for bedside tables, and not much room to move about, but for the price, it was great, so thats not a criticism. We only wanted a cheap bed for the night and a decent brekkie to send us on our way, and we got that. They do have larger rooms if we'd wanted to pay more. The price reflected that. £95 for 2 people including full breakfast is fabulous!
Staff were excellent and the food was great
Had to leave day earlier due to a crisis
Friendliness of staff. Ease of booking evening meal.Good service and good food. Comfortable bed. Quiet despite being on the main road.
The bedroom and en suite was a tad on the small size , but adequate for a one night stay
Very pleasant staff. We were staying there to be within good striking distance of Manchester Airport. Just down the road are Levens gardens which are lovely and worth a visit. We were given the freedom of two connecting rooms, which was very helpful. If we’d only had access to one room, it would have been very tight for space, but as things turned out, we were perfectly comfortable. We had a pleasant evening meal and the breakfast was good.
There is a car park, but it’s small. We took up the last available space, and felt lucky to get it.
Staff very friendly carried bags up the stairs Room and facilities very clean Breakfast excellent
Room a bit small No lift lots of stairs - we should have checked before booking
Lovely helpful staff x
All good value and nice breakfast
Friendly staff, comfortable room, great food
Room had everything you needed for a short stay. Staff were very welcoming helpful and friendly. Good selection of resonably priced beers at a cozy bar. The evening meal was good with a good selection to chose from the menu which was also resonably priced. A very good and tasty breakfast completed an enjoyable stay at the Bulls Head.
Apart from the steep stairs nothing
Fabulous breakfast and extremely comfortable bed. Excellent, friendly staff.
Heated towel rail in the bathroom would be nice. needed just a little extra homely decoration. Pictures on the bear walls or something similar. .
Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Good food and beer. Somewhere secure for a bicycle
Narrow steep stairs
Helpful and friendly staff.
Well decorated and well appointed.
Hospitality
Great food & staff
Friendly welcome all staff we encountered were excellent. The establishment was very clean. We had dinner and both agreed that the food was excellent
The only negative was that if the room window was left open the road noise was a little intrusive
Un hotel- pub típico inglés.. gente muy amable en pueblo increíble
Very friendly staff lovely rooms
The Bull's Head was a traditional pub. The room was excellent. Both comfortable and clean with excellent facilities. I would stay again. Breakfast was amazing.
Nothing.
Superb hotel / bar, great food and staff always willing to help second stay here back again in September and will keep returning
Central location although noisy during the day, quiet at night. Parking next door. Lovely staff, spacious rooms for the family. Breakfast was exceptional, wide variety of choices. Meal in the evening was also exceptional and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Best steak and mushroom pie and burger ever!!!!
Nothing
Good value, clean and friendly staff.
The food was excellent, breakfast on both days were superb. The accommodation was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Sally the owner is a great host, nothing is too much trouble. Would definitely recommend THE BULLS HEAD, MILNTHORPE, and will stay there again if we are in the area.
The shower tray became slippery when soapy. We mentioned this to Sally at breakfast, she said she hadn’t realised and would be investigating in shower mats immediately. Nice positive reaction to a minor oversight. Thanks Sally.
My room was spotless. All the staff were very attentive across 4 day stay. The lady who looked after breakfast was lovely and very helpful. I made a mistake on my original booking and Shane helped me to quickly resolve that. I had food from the bar on two evenings - it was delicious and served promptly. Excellent value for money.
WiFi signal was very poor in my room and the WiFi security protocols are outdated and open to all. I think this could be improved. My only criticism really.
Staff so friendly, plenty of real ale and the food good home cooked pub grub👍👍👍
Milnthorp is very small, but the location is ok for walks and various attractions
Food was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful
Lovely pub, and welcoming people. But don't venture to other pubs.
Nothing.
Very comfortable food Excellent Shaun was great
Nothing
Only there for one night, but no noise from the bar underneath, dinner was great. It felt clean and spacious for us as a family of four. The breakfast the next morning was very good and the staff were so lovely.
Nothing!
Good size room clean and had everything we needed. Simple but very tasty breakfast especially the pancakes!
The staff are super friendly and amazingly helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The location is near to Leighton Moss & Morcombe bay RSPB reserves which allowed us to have our beautiful walks without too much travel. The breakfast was amazing - Had the pancakes and they were the best I have had in a long time. Decent pub grub for evening meal too.
The stairs. My friend had a sprained ankle and the stairs are the curvy ones that go round and are different widths at points on the corners. This is an old building and this cant be helped something to just be aware of.
Friendly staff, lots of food for hungry cyclists
Room was a bit small.
The Bulls Head represents fantastic value for money .All the staff and the owner were very friendly and helpful .Evening meal and breakfast were lovely .I would definitely stay here again .
Nothing .
Great food, dinner and breakfast. Nice little village, really nice staff
Fabulous food and very friendly.
Excellent little pub/hotel. Friendly staff, clean facilities. Perfect for a business overnight stay. Good choice of ale too
Had to leave at 7.30 so would have been nice to have some breakfast facility (even limited) from 7am. Could do with a slightly bigger towel for the shower
My room was spotless and the bed comfortable. The lady who served breakfast understood coeliac disease, so I felt reassured. My breakast was very tasty. It was easy to park off road.
I had two hand towels but no bath towel.
The room and en-suite were newly decorated, and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the towels fluffy. Breakfast was superb and the staff were so friendly. I was very happy staying here
Owner Sally is an example to us all, turned this Pub around, works her socks off, and calmly and cheerfully produces the best cooked breakfasts you could ever want!! Staff young and friendly , thankyou Courtney and Shane in particular for making our evening meal experiences really enjoyable, accommodating our shared fish platter requests. Very good dish, thankyou Chef.
Milnthorpe is Milnthorpe, Bulls Head is Bulls Head. Neither posh and “go to” destinations but they do deliver! If they’re convenient for your journey, don’t hesitate.
Breakfast & Food was excellent
The bedroom felt cold
Friendly staff, lovely food, ideal location for our requirements heading south. Good room size. We had room 1.
Very steep stairs but that's the nature of the building. Can't do anything about that. Shower cubicle coud do with a shelf to place shower toiletries on.
Staff was brilliant and accommodating. Good banter and happy bunch.
Really friendly, helpful staff. Met on arrival carried our bags to our room. Good food.
Nothing
Lovely friendly pub very welcoming
Good value good staff
No complaints for my requirement
The room was very spacious, clean and warm. The bed was comfortable too.
Nothing
Centrally placed for what I needed
Nothing I didn’t like
Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely fire going on a cold wet night. Good beers and food. Honest and well priced accommodation.
Bed was a bit hard for me but that's a personal preference.
Loved the parking, it was a very short distance from hotel. This is a relative small village, had a spar in walking distance. Dinner was nice and kept us fuelled. A good selection on the menu. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was included and it was great, continental and cooked all with excellent service.
Large, clean, modern room. Proper home cooked pub grub. Lovely location.
Breakfast room felt a bit outdated. And the breakfast was limited.
Breakfast excellent. Staff very good, friendly, welcoming and considerate. Prepared food according to dietry needs. Good location for exploring south lakes. Very good supermarket a short walk away. (Booths).
Internet access could have been better from the room, sometimes it was OK sometimes not there at all.

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food.
Two flights of stairs to bedrooms.
Clean and comfortable
Very noisy with traffic.
Breakfast was well cooked and plenty of it Staff very accomadating Clean and pleasant pub

Very pleasant and clean hotel. Staff very helpful and food was great.
Good location for us at the time and the family dual room with shared en suite worked very well
Friendly helpful staff. Great central location in town. Very comfortable bed/room. Decent pub food, excellent breakfast
Bar areas a kitty “tired”
Breakfast good which consisted cereal, yogurt, fruit juices, full English, toast, tea and coffee.
Wifi signal
Very good all round - helpful staff Accommodated gluten free Very quiet
Only problem was that I couldn’t get the internet to work
