Golden Village Lodge

Everything was dirty. We were given the key already but the room was not ready. We waited outside the room while they clean it! We asked to clean it again because the toilet was so dirty. I have a picture of the toilet

The hotel was on the outskirts of Golden so apart from the Indian restaurant next door you had to drive for food options. Staff were friendly but lobby doesn’t give a good first impression when you walk in. The room itself was very noisy we could hear the full conversation of the people in the next door room. I’m tall but the beds were built incredibly high and it was a struggle to get in them and the room had a damp musty smell. There was an iron hung high up on the wall but no ironing board, no hairdryer. We couldn’t get the TV to work and had to go back down to reception as they had given us wrong WiFi code. No net curtains or blinds at window so it was curtains closed all the time otherwise people could see into the room. There was a door behind the small table and chairs that I presume was a connecting door to the next room, this had no lock on it. There was a coffee machine but no plug socket by it. Very tiny bathroom but then a large area with a washbasin, this area would be best made into a proper large bathroom. The room was very bright as the window in the sink area let in a lot of light and although it was frosted there was no blind. There was a random tissue box in the wall (never seen this before!) All in all we were very glad to check out and definitely wouldn’t recommend or go back.

Great place with near by indian food option

The sheets were not clean and being that they're white I'd assume they could be bleached.

The room was not clean, floor and walls so thin couldn’t sleep because heard all noises all footsteps all night. You could even hear then punch the numbers on the microwave

The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. Hot water came quickly - always a plus! The pool? Biggest temperature difference ive seen in a hotel. The hot tub was almost too hot, and the pool was very cold!

Some furnitures needed an extra tlc but overall good stay

This property is not safe. The railing on the upstairs deck is covered in rust and has signs warning not to lean on a safety railing. The hot tub is literally covered in electrical tape that is pealing off. The beds do not have frames, it is a mattress resting on plywood. When we asked to leave the owner refused a refund and threatened to call the police.

The AC stayed on high cold on our last night. Could not turn off the AC or lower the temp.

The room is clean, beds are comfy, its very quiet, and its easily accessible from the highway. There's a nice view of the mountains from the windows.

Loved everything about it!

Neat and clean rooms, beautiful view from Lodge

The rooms are quite nice and clean . The views from rooms are amazing . golden city is beautiful and this lodge is a good place to stay if you wants a place that is less crowded than banff.

Very adequate property with a good rate for the month of June. The beds were very comfortable.

Friendly check in. Gave fresh towels each day. Good value. Convenient location.

Hair in bed and bathroom towels stained Hair in bathtub and bath floor Dirty floors

We were there fir 2 nights. The rooms were pretty average for the price. We could hear people talking outside at night and early in the morning. There was no hot water neither of the days we were there, so we took cold showers in the morninggg. I would not recommend this lodge. It is very pricey for what it offers and no hot waterrr! ☹️

Great property. Check in was very smooth and the staff is also very friendly. The only thing I would suggest is to add more toiletries like dental kit, shower cap and more quantity of shower gel.

Clean room. Nice place to stay

Front door, in the hallway, didn’t close or lock. Wasn’t a concern for the staff. The thermostat was in the bathroom. Poor quality.

Everything was good, pretty noisy location with the highway being so close but only if I had the windows open.

Kind and helpful staff

The only downside is that we could hear the loud neighboring rooms

Great place

Fair

Only complaint is the lacking of parking for the rooms. I left after checking in and when I came back I wasn’t able to park in front of my room but lucked out and the front desk person let me park in front of the lobby area. That was the only free spot left.

Older property, fairly well maintained, definitely has had a recent facelift. Perfect for its price point that night, not for double the price they want for it next week.

Loud thin walls could hear conversations and arguments in next room

Very comfortable. Bonus is a pool and hot tub, not mentioned in online property description.

Noisy room

It is what it is… a cheaper hotel right in the highway

Refurbished motel with good air conditioning and good bed.

Floors were sticky in some spots. Did not feel the value and price were aligned.

Had a nice stay. Room was quiet and had a nice balcony out front so we could sit outside and watch the mountains.

Comfortable place to live in.

Maybe a 3.5. The room was clean and bed was very comfortable. I would have liked some tea and I found the coffee packets almost impossible to open. The Indian Food from the restaurant was delicious!

Convenient close to high way. Have beautiful mountain views. Room is clean and spacious. Friendly staff

Laminate on the floor was lifted/loose in several places. Toilet seat was loose. There was no continental breakfast and the on-site restaurant was East Indian. Not what I expected for the price.

It was good experience staying there

I had a problem with a drinking glass and it had a very sharp chip that i cut my upper lip with . I was'nt hurt badly .I did report it and the clerk took 20.00 off my bill . Not overly Impressed.

Nice to stay for friends or families coming to visit nearby and its really economical

A bit out of town. Up the back on the second floor was nice and quiet

It was a good price for the night. The beds were comfortable. The views were nice. Could use more parking options

Staff should have more knowledge about where to get breakfast since it isn’t offered on site

Wish i could give it a better review as the only man i dealt with was very nice. Two different stains on the sheet and bed covering, one looked like blood and the other lipstick. Really dark room, there were 3 lights that weren't functional? Cardboard walls were to blame for a really poor sleep (3 hours). One of the sealed packages of sugar and stirstix was opened and just left for the next quest. Wasn't told about the pool, i couldn't find a restaurant that delivered to the Motel and the address comes up as Indian Kitchen. I won't even address the noisy plumbing, plugged bathroom sink or the extra foul odor coming from the sink drain.

No issues.

great for the price

Noisy highway

Suite above noisey

We appreciated the renovation that has been done! Beds were comfortable. Reception was pleasant.

Polite and courteous staff and comfy beds

Beautiful pool. Very quiet and convenient. Good breakfast. Courteous and competent staff. Will definitely stay again.

Nice location

Rooms with great mountains views and good facilities

Quiet, lovely view to river. Bed not super comfortable and layout of room was not the best.

Friendly staff and clean rooms.

Great location

The property was very clean and comfortable. It is very approachable near highway.

Comfortable bed!

Superb value for money

Nicely renovated rooms

They have done good working fixing the place up and the staff were very friendly.

The room looked like it was just renovated. The staff was very friendly. I would stay there again.

the rooms are not big, but there is everything you need, even an iron! the room is clean! the view from the window is of the mountains and it is wonderful. comfortable beds!

Nice location with great view, rooms are very clean and cooperative staff

Convenient location. Great front end staff

Good rooms and nice staffs.

Good for an overnight stay. Not very clean.

A wonderful place to stay in Golden. It looked like the lodge had undergone recent renovations. Very clean facilities, comfortable bed, white linens, safe and quiet environment, fast wifi, really wonderful ladies at reception --- all for a truly budget friendly rate. And the nearby Indian Kitchen had courteous staff serving delicious fare with a discount to guests of Golden Village!

I was in room number 134 near that room in 136 there was a kid and his family, we could not sleep all night because of that kid. The kid cried in the middle of 2.30 pm for half an hour then suddenly around 4 or 5 pm he started crying again. It was impossible to sleep

Clean and neat, easy to access from highway

I had to climb up a staircase with no grlp and the back door has no real lock. This is absolutely unsafe

it was a great night overall when we got there the water didn’t work but the hotel was right on top of it and got it fixed right away. other than that it was good,

Nice and clean property. Staff is good and helpful. Near to city downtown and main attraction, Sky bridge. Recommended.

I believe it was under renovation, however exterior and the rooms were clean and renovated.

Was ok , nice view, good location, a little bit noisy

the toilet leaked so all night it would fill up. the heater/fan unit was pretty loud and would cycle through every 20 minutes. the Indian restaurant was FANTASTIC!!! definitely worth it! food was tasty and priced right!

Quick, easy, clean and comfy. I had a great sleep and the view was beautiful

Nice place to stay..

Bed was clean, bathroom where they store the hairdryer had hair in it and the fridge was dirty. Plenty of hot water for our showers, but the tub was very slippery and needed a shower mat.

Clean and spacious room and easy check in for arriving as late as we did. The views outside were breathtaking too!

Convenient stop on Trans Canada... just had to wait five min for someone to show up at front desk to check in..Great Indian food next door.

The room and area surrounding was lovely. The only negative is the room is not soundproof so whenever a vehicle drives past, or someone wanders by, you can hear it as if the window and door is open!

The hotel is very close to the highway. We stayed just for the night on our way home. The room was spacious, bright, and clean. The bathtub faucet was not working properly. When I turned on the shower head, most of the water was not redirected to the showerhead but ran down the spout, so the pressure from the showerhead was minimal. There was a coffee maker in the room. You are out of luck if you want tea or just hot water.

Layers of dust, even on light switches.. large hole in wall Bed comfortable. Price right

Clean meet and comfortable

Decent place just outside Golden.

Under renovation

Great price

Golden Village Lodge is an excellent place to stay with the family, and all needed amenities are available here.

Stayed twice when i just needed a place to sleep when traveling long distance. Average room, clean, quiet as long as your neighbors are being curtious with the tv volume. But ill stay again

Perfect spot for someone needing a place to stay the night during a roadtrip, or even while staying a few days in town. Nothing too fancy but has everything you need, is clean, and has comfortable beds. Really great value for what you get. It's a bit outside of the main part of town so a vehicle is needed to visit the downtown restaurants/shops/etc, but it was actually very quiet given it's just off the highway - I couldn't hear anything anyways. Easy check-in and check-out, no frills, nice people. Would definitely stay again.

Yup

View is lovely

Neighbours were loud and woke us up at 6am.

A great property for the price. Nice Indian Kitchen restaurant next door.

The bathroom was very small and the faucet for the bathtub was loose. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good night sleep

We stayed only one night. Our room was clean. Then linens smelled fresh and clean . No issues with the room . The negative was the pool was very dirty. We fished out used contact lenses , dead flys and 2 dead spiders. The hottub was very hot and had residue of duct tape glue in the water that stuck to our shorts and leg . There was kids running around upstairs till past 11 pm. We left at 10 am because there was two male housekeeping waiting for us to leave and clean the room . Not sure why when check ooit is 11am There was no water to purchase , even in the vending machine . Also , parking was full and was poorly parked .

Great for the price
