Reviewed Jun 14, 2026The unit was really clean, and the location was great because we could walk into town and there were many options for food close by. Wonderful having electric blankets and clean towels each day. We also had a great park which was excellent.
The two-bedroom unit we had was small for four people. The decor is dated and could be made better immediately and without cost, by removing the wooden TV cabinet and the wooden headboards, getting rid of the bed coverings and having a white sheet cover, like many newer facilities have. There was no heated towel rail, it was challenging to get the room warm enough with the type of heater, the small couch, which was supposed to be a pull-out bed, was not made up and it wasn't comfortable to sit on. The plugs were behind the mattress, which were difficult to access and a not ideal from an electrical safety perspective. People with mobility issues may struggle getting into the shower as it was over the bath. The drive was steep, so again tricky for those with mobility issues.

Reviewed Apr 14, 2026This motel was perfectly situated for us when in Dunedin visiting family. It is right in the core of Dunedin and allowed us to explore on foot and we enjoyed the close proximity to many restaurants and sights such as the fabulous museum (a must visit). We were driving from Akaroa and notified them we were running late and would be arriving after check-in and they were most accommodating; even put out a pylon to secure a parking spot near our room along with other arrangements.
The only teeny tiny thing I would adjust is lighting in the room as a bit dark/dim. Could use additional wattage when you arrive in the night, flick on the switch by the door and are unpacking/moving about the room.
