Saxton Lodge

Great stay. Very helpful and friendly

Really good stay, helpful friendly staff.

Had an amazing sleep! I wanted to take the pillows home they were so good.

The manager was so accomodating and yhe standard if cleanlimess was exceptional. For such a large place, the personal touch they managed was exceptional. Camnot reccomend highly enough.

Dion was absolutely fantastic in accommodating our requests, with great communication. The room was clean, modern and exactly what we needed. Thanks Saxton Lodge for the wonderful stay

This was our second 4 night stay and once again excellent. Thank you to all staff and highly recommend.

The staff at Saxton Lodge were amazing. I arrived late & after the dinner service had finished but the team still managed to arrange a beautiful meal to be bought to my room. That sort of service will see me coming back.

We chose this this property as it is situated in the suburbs. Good parking and laundry facilities available. Clean and comfortable with helpful, friendly host.

They were so kind in giving us numerous recommendations for dinner. More importantly, the room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

This hotel was great, the staff there were so nice and welcoming. Even though it is out of the city the rooms were clean, modern and very spacious. The only noise would be from the cars driving by. If you have a car this is a perfect spot, if you are traveling by bus you need to plan a little more but the bus stops are right across the street so still convenient

Very friendly staff and spacious studio unit. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Didn’t realise the unit had no cooking/kitchenette facilities but there was a communal kitchen we could use, along with a guest laundry. It was more akin to a large hotel room than a motel unit. The complex is on a busy corner so some traffic noise but overall a very pleasant stay.

Staff soooo helpful and polite. Room clean and spacious. Location perfect.

Warm reception on arrival including local tourist info and milk for a cuppa. Would stay here again, good location.

We really enjoyed our stay. The owers were very helpful, providing suggestions on things to do and places to go. We will definitely stay there again when we return to the area.

The Oak Tree apartment was outstanding! Thank you for the chance to stay there!

I have never stayed anywhere as welcoming or comfortable. The owners went above and beyond and could not have been more hospitable. The beds were super comfy and the location was great for getting to and from the airport, as well as buses to the Abel Tasman track. We seldom write reviews, but we are so grateful and will definitely stay again next time we’re in Nelson.

Great as usual

Great place to stay, really friendly staff, nice rooms thats why i keep going back.

Dion, the hotel manager was awesome and soo very helpful and kind. The showers were hot and the room was clean and comfortable!

.

Lovely guy at reception knoew my nam3 and was interested in my trip. Made us feel very welcome

The staff are world class. Throughly enjoyed my stay

Nicely furnished, nice and friendly front desk person. Comfy bed. Would be happy to stay again.

The staff were extremely kind and helpful when it came to accommodating our group and provided helpful advice on planing our stay in Nelson.

Wonderful stay. Large rooms, comfortable beds, clean, quiet, ample and easy parking, strong internet…. It was all good. Very easy to find / navigate to if driving. Area is flat and walkable. Restaurants and supermarkets are nearby. Great host and very friendly welcome. I’d stay there again.

Quiet place to stay and spend time with family or after work conference. Easy access to Gas station and Supermarket

Great stay. Quiet and clean , staff really helpful

Very warm welcome and a great nights accommodation.

Warm and comfortable, Friendly host great service

Great place

Nice place to stay. Big room and very clean and tidy.

A clean and tidy motel, good central location. A very good sized room with 2 queen beds. A large shower.

Great property large rooms big carparking area and very clean high quality facilities

The Saxton had everything we needed. We were doing a kayak and hiking tour in Abel Tasman National Park and stayed before and after our tour. Our flight arrived late, but the owners were there to greet us after the normal reception hours, even having their chef prepare an amazing dinner for us. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The owners were lovely, full of information and recommendations. We'll definitely stay there again during our next trip to Abel Tasman.

I had a wonderful stay at this inn. The staff was helpful and friendly, and it's conveniently located near the main road and across from the sports park. The room was spacious and clean. It's obvious that the owners and staff take pride in the property, and I truly enjoyed chatting with them during my stay! I will be back to Nelson next year and will definitely return to Saxton Lodge!

Staff was very helpful, property very clean

An easy option for location and proximity to the airport. Plenty of free parking, a really big room, bathroom newly renovated

Very helpful

Super friendly owners and staff. Loved our stay.

Great place to stay just over from Saxton stadium and I. Between Richmond and Stoke so easy access to all Nelson has to offer. Will stay again.

perfect in walking distances of all the restaurants. nice reception and photos are what you get

Great accommodating staff.

Always excellent

very friendly great place to stay

Dated but clean and comfortable. Photos are misleading. No cafes or restaurants within walking distance.

good service and site. only problem was the roadworks outside that went on for 3 nights.

Quite a basic property. Good vue for money. Unfortunately both nights we stayed had Road works outside from 9pm to 6am making it impossible to sleep. No mention of this was made by the property (despite it likely have been a notifiable activity by the contractors)

Lovely motel to stay at. very handy to town and activities. Nice and tidy. Excellent service from the staff. Thank you

The Saxton lodge was excellent

Also friendly always helpful all round 5 stars

Good place to stay for a weekend A -Blake

Colleen is a wonderful host and was lovely to deal with. She was really busy when we arrived but didn’t let that show. Our room was large, bright and very clean with lovely, comfy beds. Not a lot going for the property itself but we just needed beds so it fit the brief. Only (minor) issues were that the tv was fixed to the wall facing one single bed at the end of the room so not really visible from the rest of the room and the lights aren’t able to be dimmed/no bedside lamps which made it a little tricky with a baby but not a big deal, just a comfort thing. Would happily overnight there again. Thanks!

Didn’t expect building works to be happening

Friendly staff, clean and tidy units

Great location off the highway but easy to get to. Large rooms, very comfy.

Handy to where we were going. Friendly staff.we will be back. Thnx

Pleasant last minute overnight stay. David (host) very friendly and welcoming. Good big room for family of 4, comfy beds. Didnt use communal kitchen as lots if sport teams staying and using, but maybe next time.... Will definitely stay again....

Close to work

Amazing stay

Rooms are nice and big, staff is friendly. The property is a fair drive to town and also is adjacent to a busy road so the properties facing the road get traffic noise.

The room was clean and spacious. The place is close to town as well. They give free milk :)

No aircon

clean, about 15 min to the city. we definitely come back to stay here next time

Good large room, has a well stocked kitchen and laundry facilities

Great location, lovely staff, good rooms

Nice out of town location

Great location. Facilities were great, very clean. Staff were friendly. Will stay again.

Good staff service. Thanks a lot

Fantastic, great service from the team, parked outside my room and was able to walk to the Hockey Turfs each day. Room was clean and extremely comfortable.

Nice and clean, very welcoming host , would stay again .

The most wonderful hosts Went to the end of earth and back to ensure our stay was perfect

good location for our purposes

Big rooms for families

Beds , pillows , so comfy Amenities were clean & tidy Spacious room

The property has a large enclosed carpark which was good to have the space to play in. There are some great bike trails as well so def worth staying out of town.

Very family friendly, very clean and warm comfortable beds!!

Very nice bathroom with large shower, then a huge room with comfortable beds and a very private balcony outside

Pleasant & spacious. Thank you.

Absolutely loved the friendly service & the room was perfect and extremely spacious

Consistent level of quality every time I stay.....

This place is awesome. The service was outstanding with all our requests met with a smile. Nothing was a problem. We were given a complimentary room upgrade which was superb. A lovely clean spacious room and an ensuite which was very handy with a family. Amazing showers, great water pressure which were much appreciated after hiking for 4 days. Fantastic facilities and truly one of the best places we have ever stayed. Thank you so much.

Location was fantastic. Close to eateries and easy to find. Good sized rooms and heaps of parking

Great nice easy apartments and well priced with good local amenities

More cleaning is required in the bathroom area

The Queen Studio rooms were very spacious. The odd thing was that there was a toaster but no plates or cutlery.

A very good accommodation with sky TV options and spacious room. It looks new and pleasant.

We liked the location, it suited our daily travel very well. Staff were friendly. Rooms were very clean and tidy. Had a week overall and would definitely stay again. Laundry allowed us to take clothing racks to our own rooms to hang washing up also. A big bonus for a family!

Nice big room modern bathroom access to guest kitchen. Close to Bunnings. Cafe on site. Friendly welcome

Warm, welcoming and extremely helpful hosts. The property is well maintained and centrally located to most activities and places of interest. Do not forget to book the PICS peanut butter factory tour early and have an awesome brunch at their cafe, 50m down the street. Also don’t miss visiting the centre of NZ.

Very enjoyable would recommend Saxton lodge

Lovely and clean place, easy to get to, understanding staff

Lovely hotel. Our room was big and spacious, clean and tidy. Huge shower. Great location for seeing the sights, or shopping at the Richmond mall.

Awesome stay, great hospitality. Would totally recommend for anyone to stay here while in Nelson.

It w as awesome to get a free upgrade! A bit of road noise but with it being on main road, its hard to avoid. Friendly hosts.

There was no hair dryers in the room and no shampoo/conditioner etc

Spacious rooms, amenities and location. Accommodates large family and value for money.

Has everything for a family on a road trip. Close to amenities, large rooms and helpful staff.

Great room for our family of six. Comfortable with a friendly staff and a great value

Would have been handy to have plates etc and a sink in our unit rather than repeated visits go to kitchen.
