The houses are located in a rural area with views over rice fields, about 15-20 mins from Langkawi Airport by car. Communication with the hosts, Gudrun and David, was very easy and they were very responsive both before and during our stay. The houses and grounds are absolutely beautiful. The Paddy House was beautifully furnished. We tend to have very active holidays and only use a hotel for sleeping and showering but, after seeing the property, we rearranged our plans to enable us to spend more time there enjoying the pool, scenery, and peace and quiet. We particularly loved seeing all of the wildlife which roams the grounds, including monitor lizards, butterflies, frogs, and birds. Aircon is available at an additional cost, but the temperature inside the house was comfortable enough without it, even in 35+ degree heat. There was a family renting another house during stay, but the planting and layout meant that we still had total privacy. It's easy enough to get Grab to/from the house if you don't want to rent a car/scooter.

The mattress was very hard, which made it difficult to sleep, but I managed to make it bearable by folding the quilt over and lying on top of that.

Très belle vue de la piscine, calme et agréable. Emplacement central sur l’île, un peu isolé mais nous avions une voiture de location et tout était accessible à moins de 30 min, et la conduite est facile et fluide contrairement à d’autres lieux en Malaisie. La petite épicerie sur place est très pratique, et de nombreux restaurants locaux à proximité (5-10mî) Propriétaire très sympathique et serviable, elle nous a renseigné et organisé des excursions. Merci! Le logement est confortable, nous avons passé la semaine sans la Clim et même s’il fait chaud la journée, avec les ventilateurs on a bien dormi la nuit. Si vous voulez être au calme dans un décor magnifique, vous ne serez pas déçus.

le calme de la propriété, le soin apporté au jardin, la vue sur les riziere,la beauté des chambres dans le plus pur style malais,le sourire des proprietaire,la possibillité de louer une voiture,la situation de nla propriété en plein centre de l ile...vous permettant d etre a proximité de tout (20 mn des plages au millieu de villages et nature luxuriante)....des cantines malaises a proximité...le chants des oiseaux au matin..la beauté de la piscine posée quasiment sur les riziere...En ce qui concerne la climatisation...il n y a pas besoin de clim...les chambres sont faites par une circulation d air ingenieuse de maniere que la chambre est toujours aérée...sinon clim a 25 RM/jour pour les irréductibles.Merci pour ce sejour

Comfortable traditional Malay houses, a swimming pool with ionized water (doesn’t sting in the kids’ eyes!) and an amazing sunset view. Gudrun & David are super-hosts and went above and beyond for us! The on-site honesty-shop has everything you might need, from refrigerated drinks to snacks and even breakfast! No need to go out and buy bottled water, you can get clean filtered water from the machine as much as you’d like & use the provided reusable water bottles.

Nothing to dislike, it’s an amazing place to stay!

On peut être surpris par le fait qu il n y ait pas de restauration et que ce soit isolé. Quand on le sait, c est tout simplement le paradis.

Wat een heerlijke plek om te verblijven! Ver genoeg weg van de drukte om echt tot rust te komen, maar met alle voorzieningen binnen handbereik dankzij de vele en goedkope Grabs op Langkawi. Dat er geen restaurant op loopafstand was, was daardoor voor ons helemaal geen probleem. Een Grab brengt je heen waar je maar wilt. We verbleven in het prachtige ruime Veldhuis met veranda, vanaf waar we uitkeken over de rijstvelden en mooie zonsondergangen. Airco was niet nodig omdat het huis zo gebouwd is dat het goed geventileerd blijft ondanks de hete buitentemperaturen. We boekten in eerste instantie voor 4 nachten, maar besloten na een uur al om nog 4 nachten extra bij te boeken in dit paradijs. Heerlijk zwembad en veel soorten vogels in de tuin. De eigenaren zijn ontzettend behulpzaam en aardig. Ze hebben ons geholpen bij het uitzoeken en boeken van een aantal zeer geslaagde activiteiten, waaronder kajakken door mangroves. De andere medewerkers zijn ook erg vriendelijk. Fijn om te zien dat ook zij genieten van het kleine paradijs, dat zeer goed onderhouden wordt. Een aantal keer hebben we gewandeld langs de rijstvelden die grenzen aan de accommodatie. Leuk om er flora en fauna (veel vogels waaronder ijsvogels, zilverreigers, koereigers, wevers, bijeneters en kieviten) te fotograferen. Er is een zelfbedieningswinkeltje waar je eieren, brood en andere basisbenodigdheden en gekoelde dranken kunt kopen. Heel hartelijk dank voor de goede zorgen. Een knuffel voor Katmandu!

We loved the peace and quiet, the bird life, the houses - everything. The garden was wonderful for the kids to play in and we loved the pool. The area is beautiful and peaceful, but not far from any attractions. We loved watching the sunset over the fields each evening. We will be back!

服务，连住5晚，不换毛巾，不打扫卫生，不到垃圾，35 度高温，门口垃圾桶很臭。附近没有任何商场，遇到开斋节，打不到车，只能在他们自己的小店买点方便面，贵，还没得选。没法开空凋，房间四处漏风，开了也白开，还得另外加钱。

Fantastisch mooi klein resort dat bestaat uit een aantal ‘zelfvoorzienende’ chalets in traditionele stijl. Heerlijk zwembad, prachtig uitzicht over de velden. Veel ruimte en privacy. Weg van de drukte. In een centrale ruimte een ‘winkeltje’ met basisvoorzieningen.

Een voor- en nadeel is dat het overal minstens 15 minuten rijden vandaan ligt. Daarmee is het een rustige plek en centrale uitvalsbasis, maar eigen vervoer (auto of scooter) is sterk aan te bevelen. Een Grab kost 15 tot 25 RYM per rit.

Unglaubliche Unterkunft. Wollen wieder kommen!

Its very peaceful and secluded part of the island and the sunset valley houses just provide the same experience,beautifully incorporated with the nature. We have been able to vist the whole island with the motorbike easily from the location, as well with Grab, local taxi. The owners and the satff remarkable!!! Very attentive and kind. Higly recommend this hotel for a short or long vist in Langkawi. Aaaa the dogs and two cats living in the property totally friendly and chill :).

Werkelijk alles was goed geregeld. De verblijven zijn grotendeels vanuit de oude bouwstijl en cultuur neergezet. Het terrein is open en vol groen, een heerlijk uitzicht op een mooie tuin vanaf je verblijf. Er is een goed onderhouden zwembad voor een frisse duik. In beoordelingen wordt nog wel eens gesproken over een airco. Wij hebben in ons verblijf, zonder gebruik te maken van de aanwezige airco, prima kunnen slapen. In de nacht koelt het prima af. De locatie is centraal op het eiland. Alle kanten op ongeveer 20-25 minuten met de scooter of Grab. Wij hebben een scooter gehuurd wat prima kan op dit eiland. De hosts zijn zeer vriendelijk en staan op elk moment voor je klaar. Op het terrein is een eigen voorraad van de meest noodzakelijke producten. Enkele huisdieren op het terrein geven een huiselijk sfeer. Wij hielden van Kathmandu! Bedankt voor het geven van mooie herinneringen!

Paradise. Everything about sunset Valley is exemplary. Fabulous and genuine old Malay style chalets, clean and comfortable, fabulous gardens and pool and brilliant views. One of the very best places I've ever known having travelled the world as a long haul pilot. Gudrun and David are so efficient and welcoming. Lovely bird life and even some interesting wild life about. Good walks through the local paddy fields. Very tranquil and quiet. We will be back. Thank you.

Pleasant accommodation with a story and a touch of traditional Malaysian style. The owners are very nice. It is possible to buy snacks for a packed breakfast and dinner. The pool is absolutely fantastic. And the sunsets are breathtaking.

Niestety, po raz pierwszy spotkałem się aby w takim klimacie gdzie jest gorąco przez cały rok, gość MUSI zapłacić za klimatyzację, byliśmy w szoku. Trochę porządku też by się przydało. Siatka nad łóżkiem przeciw owadom była totalnie brudna, przy włączeniu wiatraków wszystko leci na pościel, domek ma dekoracyjne szczeliny dosyć duże także wszystko tam wlatuje, ogromne pajęczyny. Jedyny plus to przemiłe jaszczurki które chodzą po ścianach i zjadają komary i inne insekty.

Domek przeznaczony dla osób które lubią przygody i naturę. Jest dużo zwierząt dookoła - jaszczurki, żaby, wiewiórki a czasami nawet małpy, więc w nocy potrafią zrobić prawdziwy koncert, a czasami nawet zagościć w pokoju :) Obsługa jest przemiła. Widać że miejsce jest stworzone z pasją i ma swoją duszę. Na miejscu można skorzystać z usług pralni i małego sklepiku. Jest także basen.

Ein paradiesisches Häuschen im malaysischen Stil, wunderschöne, extrem gepflegte Anlage, herrlicher Pool, traumhaft! Sehr freundliche und enorm hilfsbereite Gastgeber, sie kennen sich super aus und helfen jederzeit mit, eine Tour zu organisieren und buchen. Unsere Kinder liebten den Ort ebenso, hatten Platz zum Spielen und hatten grosse Freude an den lieben Tieren. Wir würden sofort wieder kommen!

Everything was perfect with this rental, and the owners are really nice. I gave excellent ratings everywhere, but there is one detail that really bothered me, and I'm sharing it here in the hope that the host can further improve their service to excel. When we arrived in the room, the heat was unbearable because it hadn't been aired out before our arrival. I understand that the host wants to avoid insects, but we had to wait the entire day and night for the temperature to become bearable. Additionally, since I don't speak English fluently (thanks ChatGPT for the translation), we only discovered at the end of our stay that air conditioning was available, but at an extra cost. I wouldn't have hesitated to take it, even at 100 RM per day. Anyway, thank you, madam, for your kindness and hospitality. Sir was also very nice. You have a beautiful property, keep it like that! Tout était parfait dans cette location, et les propriétaires sont vraiment sympas. J'ai attribué d'excellentes notes partout, mais il y a un détail qui m'a vraiment dérangé, et je le partage ici dans l'espoir que cet hôte puisse améliorer encore son service pour exceller. En arrivant dans la chambre, la chaleur était insupportable car elle n'avait pas été aérée avant notre arrivée. Je comprends que l'hôte souhaite éviter les insectes, mais il a fallu attendre toute la journée et la nuit pour que la température devienne enfin respirable. De plus, ne parlant pas couramment l'anglais (merci ChatGPT pour la traduction), nous avons découvert à la fin de notre séjour qu'une climatisation était disponible, mais facturable. Je n'aurais pas hésité à la prendre, même à 100 RM par jour. En tout cas, merci madame pour votre gentillesse et votre accueil. Monsieur était aussi très sympa. Vous avez une belle demeure, gardez-la comme ça !

What an oasis! We had the best time... Everything was amazing: the open space, the pool, the sunsets, the wildlife around us (monkeys!), listening to the rain at night, the hosts, the pantry that saved our breakfasts, the food-delivering service (such nice locals)! We spent time in the villa just enjoying it, excellent place to rest and recover. Just be aware that if you stay at the (smaller) Gate House and it's a hotter season it can get extremely hot and you will need to get the AC as an extra. However, if you choose a more ample and traditional house, like the Garden House, you will be so comfortable and possibly will never want to leave (no AC needed)! It's child-friendly and I have been recommending it to all my friends. Would love to come back!! Thank you Gudrun and David.

We found the Gate House too hot with not enough airflow but once we upgraded to the Garden House, it was a perfect stay! The hosts were amazing in expediting our upgrade and we felt well looked after in a chilled way! =)

The location is very good and one of the best views you will ever get. The concept of staying in traditional malay houses is amazing. The owners are helpful and welcoming.

The presence of mosquitoes, insects and lizards in the house was a big turn off. Housekeeping needs to be improved. We found lizard eggs behind the bed. The mosquito nets were dusty and had some dead insects lying on top. AC is provided on chargeable basis but does not serve the purpose as there is a big gap between the wooden walls and the wooden roof.

Authentic house where you can relax and feel like in paradise, just you and nature. The houses are so unique, it's great experience to stay here. There is everything you need for comfortable stay: fridge, dishes, pans, tissues, drinking water, etc. Some basic food and drinks could be bought in the small shop here. Very good Sovinion Blan from Australia is waiting for the wine-lovers in the fridge :) Nice pool and fantastic sunsets to be observed from it. 3 cats and 3 dogs on the territory, some of them will be happy to join you on terrace in the evening.

In order to be fully relaxed and free rent the car if you choose this location. There is no restaurants, so you either need to cook or go out for the eating. Be ready for mosqitoes and lizzards in the house. The repellents are provided, you can also use anti mosquito net on the bed. However, you cannot get rid of all of them. For us it was not a big issue. Also read carefully about air conditioning in the house. For us it was absolutely ok to use only fans and no AC, however for someone could be the problem.

Great opportunity to feel live in malaysian house. Traditional house with modern facilities surrounded by fantastic garden and forest. Nature and sounds of birds. Great place to relax. The pool with amazing view on fields sunset lighted.

The place is really quiet & beautiful away from all Hussles of city life.We enjoyed it and Mrs Gudrun and her husband who owns the place are really nice and friendly person.

One thing we would recommend Is to get rid of the lizards from the bungalows which may be present due to the natural surroundings.

The Field House is a stunning old Malay style building. Had everything we needed and a fabulous view. Don’t miss having air con at all. It’s not in a built up area so there’s not much walkable (although a couple of tiny local cafes are). We didn’t have a car and other than maybe having to wait 15 mins, getting Grab taxis was efficient and pretty cheap.

Lovely relaxing place and great being able to cook our own food. Pool was great for kids and we could watch the beautiful sunset over the rice fields.

Got quite a few mosquito bites before we realised there were plug-in repellents and we should have used more spray-on repellent.

Gudrun is a very nice host who attends your every need. The Classic houses are very pretty and also very comfortable without airconditioning. Also it is nice they run a little convience store where you can buy breakfast and refreshments.

This was such an amazing place to stay at, we enjoyed the location and accommodation and the host was very lovely and helpful.

The pictures don’t do it justice you look out over the rice paddies and it’s breathtaking. You see eagles flying around and we saw Colugos flying tree to tree right by the pool. It is something very unique and beautiful. The homes are authentic and amazing but just know some are old and kept amazingly with upkeep but it does get humid in them even with AC but this is Malaysia.

Loved the traditional house, very clean and comfortable. The place was made for relaxing. The pool area was lovely. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming.

The mosquito net around the bed didn't close, so wasn't all that effective.

The location was very secluded and quiet. The Farmers cottage we stayed in was a 2 bedroom, had to pay for ac around 25RM per night, but I think if we left all the windows open at night it would have been okay as well. We were always delighted to be greeted by a friendly cat named Mandu that frequented our patio but somehow knew not to come inside. The cottage had a full kitchen that could be used to prepare meals, but we always ate out. The property also had another room that stocked items like beer, pasta, Ramen noodles and other snacks, these could be purchased as well. The hostess Rose was very pleasant and helpful, she was very attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed. The property has nice views and we were lucky to be the only ones staying there so we really had good privacy.

Being surrounded by lush vegetation, there were many mosquitoes. We got bitten and didn't bring any mosquito repellent. There was a plug in repellant but it didn't seem to work for such a large area. The beds also had mosquito nets and that seemed to help at night. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the traditional Malay home and would definitely come back here again.

Hot running water. Character of property views and quietness after a very busy holiday great way to finish. Pool was inviting and choice of going out to eat or self cater.... Friendly pets.

The rooms are very peacefully located in a beautiful nature setting. The pool is great and overall it's an easy place to relax and take time away from the world! The little store is incredibly useful, it is supplied daily with all essentials like cereal, milk, eggs, beers, soda and much more! The staff are available for help and very respectful and thoughtful, they bought extra cereal of the kind we liked, without us asking for it :) Also the cat is great!

The cabin is not completely sealed from the outdoors, with decorative holes, gaps in floor panelling and between doors and floor. This means that a variety of lizards and insects can easily come into the room. When showering we had lizards coming out of the drain on multiple occasions. If you're okay with this, then it's a nice, natural and rustic experience. The furniture is a bit old and looks worn out, not a major problem, since we spent most of our time going around the island and sitting by the pool! It wouldn't hurt to change the sofas. The fact that you have to pay 25MYR for AC per night is a bit nidicolous in a country where at night it's still 26C. It's a small amount of money, but would just be better to include in the price and not have to bother someone to come and turn it on.

Everything! We loved the location and they way that the property was designed with the houses and the pool and pavilion. It was exceptionally well organised with the shop, car hire and ability to arrange laundry and book massages. Gudrun and David could not have done more to make our stay wonderful. The setting is divine and watching the sunset from the field house is a memory that will live forever.

The property and houses are beautiful, very well maintained and clean!

It is really HOT inside the wooden houses… if you have small kids and they need an afternoon nap, not the ideal place to stay. The house start to cool down around 11pm (even with the AC that you have to pay for, the house being opened everywhere, the AC is more like an extra fan, doesn’t do much during the day). I would highly recommend this place if you are planning to be out and about all day long and not planning on taking a nap or hanging out inside the house during the day. The pool could be cleaner, we fished out tissues the first day which was a bit gross. Finally, they have dogs on the property and the beautiful lawn has a LOT of dog poos all over… not ideal when you have a little kid running around or you just want to walk to the pool without having to look where you step all the time. Hopefully they can pay more attention to that and get the staff to remove more often…

Comfortable wooden houses, well kept area. Everything is feels accessible with small shop on the property, laundry and services provided by the host. Very helpful owner.

We stayed for two nights and had a marvelous time. Everything was extremely easy with this host, from answering questions before the trip, helping with tour bookings and making our stay super relaxing. We were 3 adults and two teenagers traveling together and we were all equally satisfied with our stay.

The location is fantastic 👌. The owner is very friendly. The house was good, the traditional design and decoration.

The property was open for mosquitoes and insects, either from the windows or the wooden floor. During the night, the wend was blowing all the time , making it difficult to sleep as it is impossible to isolate windows or doors. Squirrels were running at the top of the roof, making noise. AC is available. However, it requires additional charge. But the challenge is that the property is not isolated, making it difficult to control room temperature or humidity.

Thr peace and quite of the rice patties, was not only breath taking but so relaxing. Great family location, and the owners and staff were exceptional.

Absolutely nothing, so much better than staying in the big cities

It is a nice small resort with few villas there and a lot of green everywhere, we found real paradise there. I highlight the location of the pool - you could watch amazing colors of sunset by the pool every evening . Big thank you beautiful hosts there, they were really nice.

The furniture was a bit outdated, some pieces were broken and could have been replaced. I would also welcome brighter lighting, because in the night [even though you turn the light on], it was hard to see.

This is probably one of the best properties on the island,retaining a true Malaysian atmosphere, far from the mass tourism resorts. We loved the authentic wooden villa we stayed in, it had a truly home away from home feeling. The garden is superbly kept and the swimming pool is amazing, a perfect place to relax and unwind. Yes, there are three dogs and three cats but the pets are so well mannered and never intrusive. We felt in love with them! Also, we found the villa to have just the right temperature without having to use the AC. The fans were definitely enough! The owners are always there to give you advice and support, should you need it. We particularly appreciate the fact that we could buy a few supplies the night we arrived, since they run a small shop on the premises. Also, Gudrun was so kind as to book me a fantastic full body massage and the therapist who came is the most amazing woman I have ever met. We are now spending the last few days in Langkawi in a different place but we definitely miss our Sunset Valley villa, its peaceful atmosphere and easy going feeling. We should have stayed there until the end of our vacation, I do regret moving to another location.
