Good value lodging directly on the high street. Comfortable clean bedding and good quality towels. Kettle with proper mugs. WiFi worked well and plenty of TV channels. Close to a couple of takeaways and Tesco Express for a bite to eat.
Expect a little noise from the courtyard of the pub until closing. Not much soundproofing between rooms. That said, was not overly noisy and earplugs work if you are disturbed. Whilst the room was clean in general, some minor details need attention, such as the TV remote and kettle.
Location was superb and staff friendly
Clean room but a bit small, difficult to move around the bed

The inn is well located on the Main Street close to the Thames path, shops and other restaurants. In the evening there were several TVs showing football - great for us! We were allowed to arrive early and use the hotel car park while hiking.
Not much sign of any food - but shops and a butcher selling great pies were very close by.
Great friendly pub ,sky sports and tnt was a bonus and a very good pint ,

Very clean & Comfortable
On the Main Street with shops just outside. A spacious room and bathroom. Great value. Older room, but well maintained
Clean and good location
Nothing much

Spacious room with very comfortable beds. Excellent shower. Nice bar and garden with very friendly patrons and landlord. Good local cafes and eateries for breakfast and evening meals. On site car park.
The property met our expectations and we didn't mind that it was on a busy main road. We found it good value for money. We suggested the installation of a full length mirror in the room but I wouldn't say it was a negative from my point of view.
The room was large, clean and bright and exactly what I needed for an overnight stop on the Thames Path
The rooms are in annexes at the back of the pub near the garden and car park. This means there is a bit of noise from cars and pub users during opening hours, made a bit worse by the fact that the car park is surfaced with loose gravel, but the noise didn't go on late and I got a good night's sleep. NB there is no breakfast option, but there is a good place nearby.
Nice room and my favourite beer!

Location was good for the reason I stayed - continuing The Thames Path walk. Bed was comfortable and plenty of hot water.
A bedside light would be better than having to use overhead lights. No bedside light meant I had to get out of bed to switch celing lights off/on when required.

Neat. Tidy. Central to the town
Parking was hard to find initially.
Comfortable clean room in a convenient location. Good value for money.
There is no breakfast available but luckily there are several cafes in the town. In the room a bedside lamp would be useful- you either have full blast overhead lights on, or sit in the dark. A couple of hooks in the bathroom would be useful.
Perfect town centre location
Simply everything that you need
Location
We were attending an event just up the road from the Old Bear, as such this pub was ideally located. It is essentially a no frills Pub, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it has a car park at the rear which is one of the things that I like to see. Room is a little on the small side but suited our purposes.
There is no restaurant and the pub does not do food, but Cricklade does have several eating places offering a good variety, and the Old Bear is right on the main street and close to all of them. Purely on a personal note we found the beds a little too soft
Very clean and very friendly staff will be staying again

Clean and comfortable accomodation Excellent real ale, top notch Staff are great
Comfortable beds
no breakfast
Clean and tidy room at decent price. Did not have a lot to do with staff aside from being shown room and being served at bar but all were pleasant and helpfull
Nothing
Super friendly staff. Even let us eat our takeaway in the pub garden as they weren’t doing food on Sunday.
clean and comfy room.
The staff were friendly and the room was a pleasant surprise- very spacious and a comfortable temperature.
Unfortunately, the bar stayed open until one am and some of the customers were quite noisy which kept my husband awake. He shut the windows to try and block out the noise but that made the room hot and stuffy. I am quite deaf so I was not disturbed.
So I booked a triple room thinking it’s normally for 3 guests when we turned up he said only one guest and he gave our room to someone else so stressful finding somewhere else on short notice
every thing was good

Good rooms
Staff were excellent, no food available when I was there but outlets nearby.

At the end of a long walk, so location was perfect
Rooms were a little tired. But that is reflected in the price
Central location, spacious room.
Great location in the High Street. Room was a little cramped but with a very comfortable bed and a good shower.
I was in the room, at the end of the row. The room had 2 windows, 1 had a net curtain and a blind (excellent for blocking out the light) and the other had a venetian blind and was directly opposite the bed. I was woken up at 6AM to a rather bright room and couldn't go back to sleep. If this window also had a blind, it would make a great difference. Pet friendly place although the manager's dog went for my 12 year-old Labrador twice so maybe it's not that dog friendly after all.
Overall, the stay was disappointing due to poor communication and a lack of clear information before arrival. There were no clear instructions regarding check-in, parking or what to do upon arrival, which left us having to guess much of the process. As someone who owns Airbnb properties myself, I always ensure guests receive detailed pre-arrival messages with all the information they need. Unfortunately, I found the guest communication here to be incomplete and not particularly well organised. The bathroom radiator/towel rail was permanently on and staff were unable to turn it off. The bathroom became extremely hot, especially overnight. The radiator itself became so hot that touching it was painful. Being a larger build (6ft 1in), the bathroom space was already quite restricted, so repeatedly brushing against the radiator and being burnt every time i moved around was both frustrating and painful. There were also areas of unfinished decorating, including partially plastered walls that had not been sanded or painted, which gave the room an unfinished appearance. The staff were polite, but at times seemed unsure of procedures and gave the impression they may have been covering shifts rather than being fully familiar with the property. The room itself was comfortable and the building has character, but improvements in communication, maintenance and guest information would greatly improve the overall experience.
The property had lots of charm & ampules of parking, on the door step to town and easy to get to places without much of a drive.
Good placeto say
This was relatively simple but accommodation but ideal for a one night stay. Beds were comfy and although the room was quite small it had everything you needed.
The accommodation didn’t serve food at all so this was the only draw back really. The Inn had a ‘local pub’ feel and I would say is not really suitable for ‘family stays’.
Very clean, great facilities.

Well located for walking The Thames Path and central to a good selection of restaurants and pubs to eat. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.
It was fine for our needs, nothing to complain about. Although it does not offer breakfast there is an excellent cafè a short distance away.
Very welcoming owner and pub clients!
Well placed for exploring Cricklade and Thames Path.
Breakfast not available
Location was great ,
Nothing to think of.
Very traditional, loved the old wire framed beds. Warm and cozy.
The inside of the electric kettle was delaminating - not good. A little bit noisy from the bar below but we were both so tired it wasn't really an issue. Guests need to be aware that access up a very steep flight of external stairs.
Everything. The staff were excellent and very helpful. It was clean spacious and comfortable. Great location in a lovely little village. The bar was great with the locals. The 3 single beds were perfect for 3 lads working away. It was perfect.
Nothing
The ample free parking was a bonus and we were able to leave the car early and go off. The room was spacious and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The shower in bathroom was brilliant - wish I had one at home the same. Whilst the venue does not serve food there was a variety of options very nearby. Host recommended a curry restaurant and it was honestly the best curry we have ever had.
There was nothing not to like.
This venue offered me a room for the night which is just what I was after and didn't disappoint. Clean, spacious room in modern decor with a nice big bed and toilet and shower en suite. Complimentary tea and coffee with kettle in the room. It's all you need on an overnight stop when you just need a place to kip. Highlight was the shower which was powerful and as hot as you need it. Check in at the bar upon arrival and check out by dropping the key in the key box as you depart. Easy.
I personally found the mattress too soft, and the pillows too firm, but maybe that's just me. Regardless I got my head down and slept the night so no damage.
Clean tidy room good sized bathroom with new fittings
Only 3 pillows in a double room
Location was good for walking the Thames Path (2min walk) Comfy bed, good shower.
Some fittings in the room need replacing as very tired. Although dog friendly, be aware there is no ‘green space’ locally. There is parking but gets busy. No breakfast but we knew this and lovely cafe (Wild Fig, dog friendly) up the road which opened at 8 on Sat.
the Size of the room had three single beds which were perfect for us
The only thing was it was upstairs which my elderly mum, struggled with. The owner said they do have room on the ground floor which would be better for us to stay in next time.
Excellent
Simple clean room, all I needed, plenty of tea, coffee and towels. Landlord and landlady polite and efficient. Happy stay.
We went with a container of Cullen Skink soup from our travel to Edinburgh and we had not had any hotel which would help us heat it up and when we asked Steve, he readily agreed and even took the trouble to stir it now and then to ensure that it was thoroughly heated up. Steve went the extra mile for us. We were very happy with the room and especially the en-suite bathroom. It is a luxury compared to others we have visited. The location was excellent as it allowed us to park our car in the carpark and walk around the lovely village.
Need to have a sign to warn guests of the possibility of being "blessed" by the pigeon's nest as we enter from the car park.
Trevlig personal och bra läge
Ljudligt från grannar
The Old Bear is comfortable, has a good shower, and it's easy to come and go without going through the bar. Though they don't do food they recommended some lovely places which was very good.
There was nothing in particular I didn't like. Just don't go expecting chocolates on the bed or similar. This is a great budget place for Thames path walkers
Great location right on the high street Friendly staff and great beer in the pub which had a fantastic atmosphere The accommodation was in a converted barn type construction out the rear of the pub The room was small and compact but with everything you could need Shower was excellent and very hot Bed was very comfortable
Nothing
Clean, simple and not too expensive.
The wall is thin, so you could hear everything the neighbour is doing! Luckily, our neighbour was quiet and only returned to the room after his night shift, so we weren't personally affected.
Location and very friendly staff
No meals available at that time
Lovely spacious room, very clean, had all the things we needed
Room was very hot and no way to turn off the heating
Very clean good room
Just a bit too hot
Excellent as always
Great location lovely clean room. Staff exceptional. Would definitely recommend
Nothing
No breakfast offered
The room was above the main bar. Due to been a very popular place was a little noisy before last orders
Location and the pub atmosphere
The walls in the room were thin
Pros - room and en suite were clean, beds comfy, shower hot. Basic but fine. Would have been a very serviceable budget option if not for the cons (see below).
Unfortunately the guest rooms are situated on the ground floor around the beer garden and there was loud noise directly outside our window until almost 1am. It was a Friday when we stayed, so perhaps other nights are better. We asked politely about closing the beer garden but apparently this wasn't possible. My friend and I were walking the Thames Path and chose to stay at this place because it was only very slightly off the path itself. Unfortunately, when we tried to leave at 8am or so in the morning, the door to get through to the front of the pub (the high street) was locked and nobody was around to open it for us (prob sleeping off the night before) so we had to go out the back and spend 15 mins getting back to the path to officially begin our walk for the day. Just a note for any other female travellers looking to visit this place, you will likely not feel comfortable sitting and having a drink at this pub. This is not a reason not to book a room but just something to keep in mind.
Room was clean and comfortable. Hair dryer supplied, tea tray and kettle included. Nice big towels. I would come again and recommend this accommodation to others. Much cheaper than the conference hotel that everyone else stayed at, with a lovely cottage feel. Tescos in the High Street so breakfast was easy, although there was also a cafe nearby.
Room felt a bit cold (felt like September outside not June) Perhaps heating was off as it should have been warm outside!!
Everything was great. Lovely busy pub with lots of dogs. Had a pint before we met up at a friend's.
Stepped in dog stuff on the way to the car the next morning.
Free parking about 10 metres from door of room. Good shower and fair sized bathroom sink. Good pint of real ale.
Room didn't feel cramped, except not much room between end of bed and wall. WiFi didn't reach to furthest room. But 4g service good. Sockets weren't right by bed, no bedside lamp.
Comfortable and convenient. Very easy to let yourself in after hours as accommodation was in a separate block to main inn building. Great location - on the high street.
Everything was great !
Lovely friendly pub. Nice atmosphere 👌. Room was comfy, warm & good value for a night stop over.
Lighting could have been better as only main light in bedroom so awkward if you needed bathroom in the night
Room, comfort. Friendly staff. Good restaurants around
The rooms was lovely. The rooms are not connected to the pub so no worries on getting a good night sleep and the parking is big
