staff were very friendly and informative ,great stay and enjoyed the food and drinks in the restaurant
Staff were excellent, The rooms were clean and tidy, a lovely warm atmosphere.
Breakfast was excellent apart from coffee Staff are friendly and the hotel has a relaxed atmosphere
Coffee at breakfast tastes instant
Lovely friendly and welcoming staff. Nice location with lovely view from the terrace and the comfy orangery which was a good place to relax with a glass of wine after a long drive. Very dog friendly.
The room was quite large and very clean but rather lacking in creature comforts: for example a small fridge with some cold water would have been nice and a couple of armchairs (plenty of room for them) so that we could sit in comfort rather than perch on the edge of the bed to have a cup of coffee. Lots of lights but all of them too dim to read by.

The area was good for touring the Cotswolds.
The property had been sold. And it really needed some major internal updates . We took Our small dog but the room they put us in had really bad floor markings. Needed wooden floors not carpet's! Think the price was high for luxury that was not there. Shame really as a beautiful property. Ideal for a small wedding
Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking on site. Nice pool. Beautiful views from the conservatory where dinner is also served or one can relax in comfortable chairs with a pre-dinner drink. Well located for lakes and day trips, close to Cirencester which is a very nice town with a Saturday market. Dinner menu very good with a couple of vegan options. Quality of food and size of portions was very good. Room had a microwave, sink, fridge and coffee / tea refills every day.
The bathroom was very standard and when looked at closely, could have been a bit cleaner. Otherwise great water pressure, steaming hot water and fresh towels when required.
The property was in a convenient location for our one night stop travelling south. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is slightly dated but comfortable.
We stayed here on my son's Birthday as a Stop over to LEGOLAND. The staff were lovely and the restaurant was excellent.
The room was a little dated and not quite what was shown on the images.
Lovely country setting
Bedrooms need refurbishment. Also no safe or fridge
Great staff
Very scruffy, black mold in shower soap, ceiling peeling in bathroom, stains on carpet, raised numbs on furniture, bin rusty and dirty, 1 toilet roll for whole weekend, wet floor towel left to be used against and not changed
The outside place was really nice
The room. It was small and really basic for £170
the location , the bar, and restaurant, the views from the hotel
Room Lighting, all the rooms have a strange lighting set up,
The rooms were clean, location was good.
We had fully paid for the booking via booking.com. After checking in we were told that our card had declined for one of the room payments. This did not make sense at all as either the card would have fully declined for the payment or fully gone through. I had to shown the reception and argue my case that everything was fully paid. On the next day, we were also asked to settle the outstanding amount again, and I had to repeat myself again. I'm not sure what they were playing at. Just be careful if you book and have fully paid, but they still say a payment is outstanding.
Could have done with a proper clean.
This is a return visit for us to this lovely quiet countryside hotel. The staff are exceptional - they are so polite, helpful and efficient. We had a bar meal in the restaurant which was lovely and bigger than expected, and served by Shannon who was very attentive and looked after us well. The room around the bed was spacious and the bathroom was very big. Our room was in the courtyard and overlooked lovely fields. There is plenty of parking. We would definitely stay there again.
The kettle lead was not long enough. It would be better if there was a blind at the bathroom window. There is a 12.5% service charge in the restaurant.
Nice meal at the hotel
great pool and fantastic breakfast
it's well over due a upgrade old room very lacking bed had its day not very comfy lumpy bar very expensive but guess that's the norm now
a lovely old cotswold manor house full of character. the staff were very friendly and service excellent. the pool and changing rooms quality. we walked into cricklade using public walking path behind hotel and there is a new coffee/wine bar opened the wild fig on high street which was amazing.
nothing to dislike.
Good spa facilities, and very friendly staff throughout. A good base for our walks on the Thames Path. Some interesting "sports" facilities (Footgolf, Petanque) I'd have liked to use had we more time and better weather.
Our Courtyard room was a bit musty & basic for this price band (eg kitchenette only came with disposable plates - no bowls - and cutlery, though reception were happy to provide when asked).
The property was gorgeous and the outlook from the orangery was stunning
Nothing
Location good for access to local towns
A bit dated in the room and bathrooms
Friendly helpful staff
One main course was inedible and the starter arrived after the main course
The hotel felt cosy and has a nice view from the lounge/restaurant and a swimming pool and sauna. The bed was comfy and the shower had good pressure. I also enjoyed my dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Reception staff were nice.
The steam room was out of order. The lock in the ladies changing room by the pool didn't work. The layout of the buildings is such that if you're staying at the courtyard outbuildings, mind they aren't connected to the main building. My room in the courtyard smelt musty upon arrival but I got rid of the smell by opening the window; I think the staff should air unoccupied rooms before someone checks in.
Breakfast very good. Room good. dinner ok
Would have been good to have a small fridge in the room. Also net curtains.
Really nicely situated hotel in the rural outskirts of Cricklade. Good amenities with parking, a pool/sauna and a bar/restaurant. It was a good price for the night and the staff were great.
Very poor soundproofing in the rooms: we could hear every word of the conversations happening outside and next door, and the family next to us had two small children so there was a lot of crying and screaming. I asked for ear plugs at the reception but unfortunately they didn't have any. The rooms are clean but in a fairly poor state: stained carpets and cheap lino, with furniture that doesn't quite do the job (e.g. a coffee making table that was too high for the kettle plug to reach the socket).
Everything was excellent, the only minor issue was that me and my partner felt the bed was a bit on the small side, but in all fairness we are used to a superking size and I'm quite a big guy , but it was quite small, for a 1 night stay though it was easily manageable, comfort and cleanliness wise It was excellent as was the rest of the facilities and our room. Receptionist was very nice and helpful and we we're gifted a couple of bottles of Prosecco for the birthday event we were staying for. All in all , extremely happy
The location is really beautiful and calm
Staff members were very helpful and friendly
The pool area and grounds
No air con or adequate fans to cool down the room
Great location in own grounds with plenty of parking. Was ideal for shopping in Cirencester and exploring Cotswolds. The rooms were a good size, comfortable bed and clean bathroom, tv and tea & coffee. Restaurant on site plus pool & sauna. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Enjoyed the evening meal and breakfast.
Nothing - was very happy with stay
Location.
Nothing
Location Pool
Scruffy especially the building and gardens. Room was basic and bathroom old

Great staff, lovely pool and delicious food on the terrace in the sunshine.
The room was comfortable for what we paid to stay.
Breakfast service was slow
Location
No full length mirror
First of all the staff where amazing Couldn't fault them at all .polite and attentive Friendly The room was perfect Beds really comfortable I paid for a upgrade on our room before we arrived We where stuck in traffic for 4 hours which made our travel there from a 3 hour journey into a 7 hour and the staff on the desk took the price of the upgrade off our payment which was a amazing thing to do We were very grateful. Bathroom was very big Shower was great Very peaceful stay Breakfast was nice
The food wasn't great My partner had the spaghetti bolonase of the evening and it wasn't up to scratch sadly Cold and lots of water left from where the pasta had been drained The Bolonase was very bland My partner couldn't eat it But the manager did give us 20% off which we were happy about
Nothing was too much trouble. The staff made our stay so special. Particularly Elliott and Geveena.
Having to leave. Loved it.
Location, & views from Dining Room.
Bedroom (Room 13) very basic, confortable bed but only one chair, no wardrobe and very poor wifi so TV permanently scrolling.
As ever with hotels, staff make all the difference. Excellent Staff throughout.
Lovely dining room with views, friendly, understanding staff.Comfortable bed and pleasant decor. Colours of main building harmonious. Food big portions.Generally a very pleasant, comfortable, relaxed experience.
Shower room needed shelf over sink.Kettle had very short lead making it difficult to pour water. Courtyard looked a bit neglected outside.
The position of the hotel making it very easy for visiting the Cotswolds, Stratford Upon Avon and Bath. Facilities in the hotel were very good, swimming pool, restaurant and buffet breakfast was very good. Rooms were very big, clean and all staff were excellent and helpful.
No fridge in the rooms 12&13, a fridge would be useful not just for drinks but for any medicine that needed to be kept chilled.
Great location, staff and facilities
A bit tired!
The room was excellent and we had a mini kitchen in the room which would have been a bonus for people with dogs or children etc. The breakfast was very good with a very good selection of hot and cold.
Cannot think of anything?
Peaceful
Tennis courts below our room so woke us up
Lovely location, very peaceful
Only criticism is the towels, very old I would say!
It was our second time, simply fantastic.
Nothing. We love it.
very helpful all round waitress was amazing with my dad
Television in room cut cutting out, WiFi!!
Everything about the property was about right for the price. All the staff were very helpful and polite, we remember Shanon and Callum on reception. The spa was really nice and we sat outside most of the day. We ate at an excellent Indian in Cricklade one night but the hotel food was excellent so you don’t need to go out.
The bar and restaurant area would benefit from a split air conditioning system as it was very warm, portable ones are not suitable. The kids in the pool were fairly noisy and had various pieces of equipment. Just be patient it doesn’t last long. Water bottles should be provided in all the rooms, especially given the heat.
Location
Was very disappointed arrived at 3pm and was told room wasn’t ready had a meeting at 3.30pm but couldn’t get in room till 3.45 guy on reception was never there had to hang about
Location. Room size was suitable, parking was good. Breakfast was very good.
The bed was very rickety and uncomfortable leading to poor sleep.
Charming, clean and comfy. We had a great night. Dinner and breakfast included.
Swimming pool could be updated but still is a nice place to be during hot summer
Servizi accessori (piscina, spa, bar e ristorante, parcheggio )
Camere da ristrutturare, sicuramente vanno sistemati i bagni
Buffet breakfast was good but no fruit salad just individual bits of fruit.
No air-conditioning, on a very hot day but the provided fan proved adequate.
A perfect 3 night stay
Clean comfy rooms. Staff were pleasant.
Spa was a bit limited. But good that kids were able to enjoy.
All the facilities and very friendly staff.. lovely location
Maybe a few more healthier alternatives to go with yogurt ( seeds and berries ) only little things.. very hard avocado and no peppermint tea in room..
Amazingly friendly staff, comfortable sitting areas, stunning views over the countryside, great food, everything very flexible and informal. Already looking forward to our next visit
Nothing really.
Very friendly staff who welcomed us and our dog especially.
The bathroom needed a little TLC.
Breakfast was quite good! Many options (healthy and not so), good coffee, and very friendly staff. The hotel is a bit dated, but the room was updated and very clean with big windows. The grounds were very nice with beautiful views. Nice pool, but very chlorinated (strong smell). The little town nearby is cute with several pubs, but closes up early for food so plan to eat dinner before 8 or do Thai or Indian, which were open later. Overall a very nice experience and close to Cotswolds locations.
The smoking area was right outside our front door, so the entry smelled like cigarette smoke even though no one was actively smoking during our stay. This area should be moved far from the interior courtyard. They gave us air freshener, which worked a bit and we were able to leave the windows open to air things out. If you are sensitive, make sure to ask for a room away from smoking areas.
Beautiful hotel, great location and lovely staff
We liked the Cricklade House Hotel location in a lovely rural setting plus the professional staff, excellent hot breakfast with fresh fruit and good service. I really enjoyed the warm pool, clean modern showers, Sauna & Steam room and having the sliding doors open for fresh air. Our annex was shaded, cool, thou we had the fan on with it being 29° outside. Loved that the annex was spacious, had a fridge, microwave oven and kitchen sink. The restaurant served very good food and tasty chips with nice views over the lawn. We loved our stay here.
The only thing I didn't like was the added optional service charge of 12.5% in the restaurant. I opted out because service was slow to bring drinks before dinner and slow again waiting for our bill after dinner.
The pool and grounds were lovely and some of the staff were really wecloming
Breakfast was disappointing. Only sliced bread, no marmalade for two days. Ran out of pastries at 9.30am one day. Service very mixed I often needed to ask for things twice. The room was Ok but the taps were strange the cold ran hot initially!!
THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD-AND THE SPA WAS AS WELL.
WE HAD TO WAIT ONE HOUR FOR EVENING MEAL. BUT DID NOT CHARGE US AND THEY GAVE US A ROUND OF DRINKS ON THE HOUSE.
The location is very good
Having booked a superior room this was changed to an inferior room because we have a dog - I fully understand properties having ‘dog rules’ but these have clearly changed from the previous three occasions we’ve stopped there. We were charges for the superior room despite the room allocated being quite inferior. Photo of the countryside view attached. I have queried this with the hotel and have not come to a satisfactory conclusion.
La posizione, la piscina interna , la palestra e la buona colazione e cucina in generale
Staff were good. Room in courtyard area, stains on walls. Rusty radiators overall very tired. Nice pool, only allowed one towel. No costume dryer. Food OK.
Not up to the standard expected
Nothing, very bad hotel.
Food, room, washing stuff.

Great location Rooms were tidy and comfortable Staff were brilliant The food was great and the pool was lovely.
The bathroom was a little dirty in areas, but it was not a big problem. In particular, down the side of the toilet.
Kitchinette sans couverts
Friendly staff, easy check in, good sized room, good breakfast and evening meals where there were lots of varied choices, tasty and nicely presented
Lovely location and facilities. Room spacious and ideal for dogs in the courtyard. Food excellent and good value. Service excellent and staff very friendly.
We found £20 per dog per night made the stay not value for money as this is not clear until after booking.
Peaceful environment.
No access to town by shuttle or on foot.
Very nice bar area with views. Good quality breakfast. (Single) room was well appointed and comfortable. Staff excellent without exception. Didn't try the pool or Spa so cannot comment.
Food was great and staff really friendly.
Balcony wasn't very inviting.
Front desk staff and evening bar staff were all lovely! Rooms were very clean!
Courtyard rooms are bizarrely decorated and feel very dated. Breakfast staff with very slow and disengaged
Struttura molto bella nelle parti comuni e camera spaziosa.
Manca l’aria condizionata .
Beautiful location, great views and wonderful food. Perfect for dogs
The courtyard room was slightly dated, but still good for price
Check in/out was seamless, breakfast was great.
The carpet in room 18 was heavily stained - I did not want to let my toddler sit on it or touch it particularly. In my opinion, a new carpet is needed, or at the very least, a deep clean/shampoo is imperative. That said, the sheets/bathroom/furniture seemed clean. The carpet just really let the accommodation down.
I felt special for my whole stay. The courtyard was so relaxing,. The food was lovely and plenty but not too much to feel over full
The room could have a nice local picture on the wall it felt a bit bare against the wallpaper. I did notice that there was no power points at the bed head, and also the other power points were behind the dressing table mirror
Lovely staff , excellent food . Communal areas very pleasant
Bedrooms a little tired looking
My daughter and I had a wonderful weekend at this excellent hotel. In particular the staff worked so closely as a team. Nothing was too much trouble for them. In particular our waitress (Geveena) in the restaurant had a lovely manner, was very professional and made us feel so comfortable. All the staff were in fact of the same calibre. We will return!
Great countryside location, lots of ground to walk your furry friend. Most of staff are friendly and accommodating. The food was generous portions and absolutely delicious. Breakfast was a buffet style with varied options. Can order extra cooked breakfast meals. We stayed in one of the courtyard rooms, note if you book a courtyard room, and have mobility issues, request a ground floor accommodation.
The odd unfriendly staff
The pool was wonderful. I thought maybe £15 was steep for a breakfast but there was a fantastic continental breakfast buffet plus a choice of freshly cooked breakfasts like eggs benedict.
Our fridge was noisy so had to turn it off at night but I told them and they planned to fix it immediatly.
All the staff was so personable and welcoming, the setting is just stunning (I loved being able to walk in the grounds and not see a single other building!) and my room was spacious and very comfortable. The facilities were super - the pool especially welcome in the heat - and the breakfast room/bar area was cosy and bright, with such a glorious view.
I was a little disappointed to see the difference in breakfast spread when the hotel was quiet and when busy. I can understand it's not worth having a buffet when occupancy is low, but it meant I didn't really get enough food...
Beautiful
Views
Lovely spacious room. Very quiet and comfortable. Restaurant and bar area were lovely with great views
Could have had more toiletries in the room. There was only soap, no body lotion or hair conditioner.
Really friendly staff and great facilities. My daughter particularly liked the pool and I enjoyed very much the food.
The hotel was very hot, but that is difficult to avoid in a heatwave. There were also quite a bit of spider/spider webs in the bathroom, but again the location was rural so understandable.
the pool and the views
no fridge in room decor a little tired
