Lovely, comfortable, quiet, well thought out room and bathroom. Excellent communication from the hotel especially as we arrived later than planned due to a cancelled train. Delicious breakfast. Very good location for exploring Avignon. Many thanks to all at the hotel.

The place was charming and the location was central to the city. Plenty of air-conditioning!!

The staircase is small and winding. They carried ours bags upstairs or we would not have been able to stay there.

The bathroom is functional, but small and kind of dated. But it’s not unexpected considering it’s an old building at the center of the old town.

We stayed in the Madeleine apartment, which was spacious and well maintained. Everthing worked with the exception of a puzzling espresso machine. The air conditioning was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The furniture was a bit 1960s style Austin Powers but I liked it.

I would have liked a cafetiere or a moka. Filter machines are OK but don't make the best coffee.

We loved our stay in this charming little hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the service was professional but also very personal and responsive. The room was clean and comfortable with air conditioning. Breakfast offered a range of options and set us up well for the day. The hotel is ideally located in the pedestrianised area in the centre of Avignon so it was ideal for exploring the city, with cafes, bars, restaurants and shops all within easy walking distance. It is worth noting there is no lift, so if stairs are a challenge for you, you would need to request a ground floor room. We would defintely stay here again.

Located right in the heart of the old town of Avignon is a cute hotel with friendly staff and a comfortable room.

The location is great. Slightly secluded and quiet but within a minute to a lovely restaurant along with many more. Accessible to everything within minutes.The room was charming and I felt like I was in France. The staff was helpful with luggage and calling a cab as well as info needed.

No elevator but Clemont carried the large baggage.

Quiet and quaint and in a central local but away from the noise. It was clean with lots of new amenities. The staff was brilliantly, helpful, and available for my many requests. They also had a cold beverage bar with an honour system, which was very charming.

De airconditioning werkte fantastisch op de kamer! Echt nodig geweest tijdens ons verblijf want buiten was het erg warm. Bedden comfortabel en alles was schoon. Personeel is erg aardig! Ontbijt was prima, niet heel groot, maar wel van kwaliteit.

We had a wonderful stay at Hôtel de Garlande. The couple running the hotel were exceptionally welcoming and genuinely cared about making our visit enjoyable. They went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed, from practical advice to excellent recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and hidden gems in Avignon. The breakfast was another highlight, offering a generous selection of fresh, high-quality local products that gave us a great start. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained, making it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. The hotel’s location is excellent—right in the heart of Avignon, with all the major sights, restaurants, and cafés within easy walking distance. We couldn’t have asked for a better base for exploring this beautiful city. We highly recommend Hôtel de Garlande to anyone visiting Avignon and would happily stay here again.

Me pareció que era más un arriendo de departamento que un hotel. El departamento estaba en un edificio adyacente lo que obligaba a ir y volver para tomar desayuno, recoger las llaves y ese tipo de cosas. No fue nada grave tampoco, pero no me acomodó mucho o no era lo que esperaba tal vez...

Excellent little hotel in the centre of the old town a few minutes walk from the train station. Room a little old fashioned but bed comfy and shower room excellent. Great Breakfast. Thank you Stephane and Clement for your help, friendliness and and especially advice on wonderful restaurants.

Steep internal stairs but we were pre-warned of this

The hotel is right in the heart of the old town, within easy walking distance of the train station, restaurants, and the main attractions. The host was warm, friendly, and welcoming. The air conditioning worked well, which was especially appreciated during the intense European heatwave, keeping the room cool and comfortable after a day of sightseeing. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. We had a very pleasant stay.

Nice hotel right in center of Avignon. Friendly staff and comfortable.

Room was quite small but it worked fine. It has no elevators so you need to be aware that you carry your luggage up a small curved stairway. This wasn’t a problem for us but could be for others.

The owners manning front desk were very helpful and fully understand the needs of a Coeliac re breakfast which had great variety. Location was fantastic. No lift so ask for ground floor if needed.

Bedroom very dingy and dull, frosted glass on window looking out to internal wall. Felt claustrophobic! Step on entrance to bedroom was dangerous even though sign on door to remind you! Breakfast area was tight & small. Not great selection. Had to remind staff to replenish supplies. Very little cutlery provided .

Beautiful suite.

Avignon is an old city, getting around by car is impossible. We needed to park 500 -700 mtrs away and drag our luggage over broken twisted cobblestones, that was the easy part. Finding the hotel by GPS maps made us do laps and laps until you stumble across the entrance to the hotel. If you book a suite it is on the top floor, No assistance from staff, No elevator, just a spiralling staircase wide enough for only one, it takes you ten minutes and a near heart attack to get your luggage upstairs. If all that doesn’t make you reconsider this place, you are fitter than me. Do your self a favour and stay at the Mercury, lift to your room and street level.

Great location, can walk from the station and to restaurants and shops. We loved that we had air-conditioning, given the heatwave. Our room was comfortable and decorated nicely. Overall, a very good experience. Emmanuel was very welcoming, and a cheerful host. Thanks also for accommodating my dietary needs for breakfast.

We were a bit disappointed with the breakfast as we’d advised that we would take it. We got there at 8.45 and only one of us got a pastry - I asked if there was another and was told all had gone. There was bread but tiny pieces and not replenished unless we asked. The orange juice was topped up - again when we asked - but only a small amount. Plenty of cakes but when we’re in France we like a croissant and bread not cakes.

My room was clean and pretty and the location was perfect, very central.

Stayed in the exquisite spacious suite for a couple nights. Great location within easy schlepping distance from the train station. Stephane was quite informative as to food and transportation options. Stairs were a little tricky, but doable. Good to be prepared with code for entry if not planning to arrive at typical hours.

Great rooms, great location right in the heart of Avignon, and the staff was very helpful. The gentleman at the desk was very friendly and he helped carry our bags upstairs and walked us to a nearby boulangerie that he personally recommended. We really appreciated the personal attention. We will be back.

We loved everything about Hotel de Garland! Peaceful location, exceptionally clean & very comfortable. It was less than a 10 minute walk from Avignon Central Train Station. We were able to drop off our bag and freshen up in their public room toilet before heading to the nearby Palace de Papes. Stephane & Clement were both great - very friendly & helpful. Highly, highly recommend!

Liked everything with possible exception of getting in with security code at 2pm

Host was wonderful and gave us lots of good tips on things to do and scenic walks.

The manager was one of the most helpful and friendly people I have ever met in a hotel, truly exceptional. He arranged our taxis to the train station, recommended a restaurant for our dinner - which turned out to be small, intimate and high quality. Nothing was too much trouble.

The number of stairs & that the lift comprised of a wire & strap that was hooked around my bag to be taken up the stairwell operated by a remote control. On departure there was no interest in helping in any way to get my bag down from the 4th floor, even using the odd ‘lift’ contraption - I was told it would be good for my health!!! Not good enough! Breakfast was very light on for cereals & fruit.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Possibly the best nights sleep since we arrived. The hosts were so friendly and helpful.

The hotel is charming having maintained a feeling of the old building with modern convenience. Host was very helpful. We did not eat so cannot comment on the breakfast but it looked lovely.

Be prepared for quite narrow winding stairs - in room 12 we had quite the climb.

The stairs to the second and third floors are a pain. Not a knock on the hotel, but it is in an area that it is difficult to get into and out of by car.

Everything. The owners went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I had a nice comfortable room with a view, and enjoyed breakfast each morning. Location could not be better; just a 5 min walk to Place de l’Horloge where I could enjoy a beer and an ice cream each afternoon after exploring this lovely city on foot.

Lovely boutique hotel in heart of old Avignon. Kind hosts Stephane and Emmanuelle are very helpful in recommending restaurants and transportation options. Breakfast is excellent with variety of home-cooked items. Rooms are spotlessly clean and tastefully appointed. Location is quiet pedestrian area with no cars except taxi. Double doors at entrance make you feel very secure at night. Due to historic status building has no elevator but the hosts help with luggage. Highly recommended

Location was perfect. Centre of everything. Small touches like umbrellas on rainy days, good advice on restaurants and places to visit. Reception for most of the day. Friendly chats.

Didn’t realise we’d be in ground floor so not much natural night but was ok. If I stay again, I’ll ask for an upstairs room looking out front. Still very satisfied with what we got though.

It was a great location. Very peaceful and quiet, but near a lot of restaurants and shops. My room was so spacious and comfortable. I was only there for one night, but I would have loved to stay longer.

Clement was a great host. Breakfast sounded expensive on the booking site, but it was well worth it. Old, small building has been updated and is very very clean. Despite being in the pedestrian zone, taxis (not uber or lift) can deliver and pick up at the front door. Highly recommend’

The stairs are steep but very manageable if you are mobile. Clement helped with luggage, which we appreciated - though we could have managed it at ages 71 and 68.
