Staff Cristina y Alessandra
Everything just perfect from the easy self check in to the breakfast location, closeby attractions and metro. Great 24hours service, they are always through whatsapp and very kind receptionist during morning office hours. Super recommended
Muy bien conservado y limpio y la ubicación
Solo el ascensor muy caluroso pero andaba perfecto a pesar de los años
Great hotel for young people travelling, everything was very easy to navigate, and we felt very safe here as two young women in a busy city. The 24/7 whatsapp line was amazing for questions we had about location and facilities of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, on check-in the receptionist answered all of our questions about the best way to get around to see the city, and recommended places for us to visit during our stay. The hotel was very well situated in the city, being roughly 15 minute walk from the Trevi fountain and the Colloseum, and 10 from the main train/metro/bus station. (Also definitely recommend checking out the take-out pasta spot right next store to the hotel- so good!)
If you are planning a trip to Rome, do not hesitate—book Domus Liberius! From start to finish, the entire team made sure our time in Rome was absolutely unforgettable. Unmatched Communication & Warm Hospitality Right from the moment we booked, their communication was flawless. They emailed us to join a WhatsApp chat where every piece of information we needed was laid out clearly. We received immediate and continuous responses leading up to, during, and even after our trip. A massive thank you to Cristina (who welcomed us right when we landed), Alessandra, and Julia! Their outstanding service and kindness set the tone for our entire vacation. They arranged a perfectly smooth airport car pickup for us, guided us to our room, and clearly explained how everything worked so we felt right at home. Special Celebrations & A Wonderful Upgrade We mentioned prior to arriving that we were celebrating a 40th birthday, and the team went above and beyond to make it special. They even offered us the opportunity to pay for an upgrade (from a cancellation) to a Superior Double Room, complete with a sweet note, balloons, and delicious truffles waiting for us! It was such a thoughtful, personal touch that meant the world to us. Safe, Secure & In an Unbeatable Location As two women traveling together, safety was a top priority, and we felt 100% secure at all times—even returning late at night. Everything is locked tight behind gated doors. The location itself is unbeatable! It sits right across the street from the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore (where Pope Francis expressed his wish to be buried), and we were within easy walking distance to tons of incredible local eateries, bakeries, and major sites. Whenever we needed a ride, there were taxis right outside the hotel doors (which easily accepted Apple Pay), and Lyft was super accessible, too. Spacious & Comfortably Cool Rooms The room itself was fantastic—extremely spacious with plenty of room for both of us, all our luggage, and a very comfortable sleeping area. The shower was excellent and surprisingly roomy! But best of all was the air conditioning: it was phenomenal. After long days of sightseeing in the Italian heat, coming back to a beautifully chilled room was heaven (it worked so well we even slept in sweatshirts a few nights!). We cannot recommend Domus Liberius and its exceptional staff enough. They will make sure your stay in Rome is nothing short of perfection. We would return in a heartbeat!
Great location, less than 10 mins walk from Termini station and about 15/20 mins walk from the Colloseum. Room was nice and clean and so was the bathroom. Room was nice and quiet despite being in such a central location. The AC great and the beds were very comfortable. The room also has a big Smart TV. WiFi was good. The atmosphere around the hotel is chilled. Good value for money. Room cleaning was good. This isn't a traditional hotel with a lobby and is not staffed 24/7, but it's fine. I prefer this in some ways. I will be staying here again if I ever return to Rome. For the money I paid, I was very happy. This place isn't so good if you have young kids but for a couple or friends, it's perfect.
Our room was exactly as pictured online: spacious for Rome's central standards, very clean, and with a really comfortable bed. I highly appreciated having a mini-fridge. Great working air conditioning, and a coffee machine in the common area. The staff's hospitality was outstanding; they were incredibly kind, gave us a map with excellent recommendations for non-touristy restaurants nearby, and let us leave our bags for free after check-out. You just need to message them your arrival time in advance to coordinate a smooth check-in. Once you get the codes it’s easy to access. All in all, it is a brilliant, clean, and welcoming base that I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore Rome on foot or by public transport.
What an amazing stay in Rome! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff is incredibly accommodating and helpful. They are quick to respond and go out of their way to ensure your needs are met! Would recommend!
I came back to Rome by myself after more than 50 years just to see what had changed. Well, Rome is still the eternal city and most changes were positive. I had purchased the trip via a consolidator, so I got great value. The location of Domus Liberius--right next to Santa Maria Maggiore--was a big part of the experience. The building creates a "Renaissance" atmosphere. Given the location, the place is very quiet, and it was very clean. I also felt safe because the security mechanisms were very elaborate. The room was small, but I did not need a lot of space because I was solo. The bathroom including the shower was well designed. The air condition worked. The staff was competent and friendly, but they go home after 14:00 h. One recommendation regarding amenities: the sockets of the electrical system could use an update.
Great location and clean rooms. The street can be a bit noisy when the window is open, but that’s expected in a big city and it didn’t bother me too much. Service was good, although at times I wasn’t sure whether I was interacting with a real person or an AI. Considering that the place feels more like an Airbnb than a traditional hotel, the price could be a bit lower.
I recently stayed at Domus Liberius in Rome and overall had a pleasant experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The directions provided to reach my room were straightforward and easy to follow. That said, I found the instructions at my hotel in Florence to be a bit better, as they included photos and were more detailed. Adding pictures to the arrival instructions could make the process even smoother for guests. I would also suggest providing complimentary bottled water in the room. It is a small and inexpensive gesture, but it goes a long way in making guests feel welcomed and showing hospitality. Overall, my room met my expectations and I had a comfortable stay. However, it felt more like a guesthouse or serviced accommodation than a traditional hotel experience, as there was no concierge or front desk staff available at all times. Despite that, it was a good stay and I would consider returning.
I booked this trip very last minute (the evening before) and from the moment I contacted the hotel, staff were very polite and responded promptly to any query I had. Andrew ensured everything was organised and we had our access keys prior to arriving, so any delay was avoided during our trip/ accessing the hotel room. When we arrived at reception, Cristina concisely explained the hotel facilities and showed us to our room. She also explained the city map and made recommendations of where to visit. We had one full day in Rome and the other two were spent travelling, however I appreciate Cristina’s useful insight as we saw many attractions. Although someone is physically present at reception for a period of time, the 24/7 digital reception has been very useful. Staff at this hotel are very kind and patient, our trip ran smoothly as any question was met with a timely response/ item requested. The hotel room is very clean. I looked under the bed when I dropped something and can say everything is cleaned. During the day the church bells can be heard, however it is a part of experiencing the city and was no inconvenience whatsoever. The hotel room (superior double) had a modern design and the entrance to the hotel was amusing because it’s unique (for me anyway). For the price, I believe the hotel, room, amenities etc were very reasonable because of convenience and everything else offered. This hotel couldn’t be in a more convenient location, walking distance from many attractions and as you can see from the photo I attached, one attraction is directly opposite. Shops and supermarkets, as well as a restaurant and gelato shop are all next door. I have attached the view from our room, however I mostly have videos so I’m unable to upload more :)
Posto incantevole.
I HAD AN AMAZING STAY 🤩 thanks for the incredible staff and exceptional service of all kind! Thank you for making my stay in Rome to a five star experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Domus Liberius was a great hotel. It is located across the street from a major tourist destination-St.Marys. Christine the girl in the office was extremely helpful. The room was clean and spacious. A cool setup.
I was wary of the model...no full time front desk...key pad entries...doors, gates and elevators...But lb for lb it was an excellent stay...Not fancy but staff was very helpful and easy to reach... rooms were comfortable and clean and the location was excellent in the Monti dist...3-4 minute walk to main tain station...10 minutes to the Coloseum (ok I walk fast)...I tend to stay at nicer hotels but I would book this again without issue...Check out Restaurant Temu a few blocks away for excellent seafood and service in a calm setting...Tutto bene...
Great location! Grocery stores right next door. Taxi stand in front. Made to order pasta restaurant next door. So many restaurants, bakeries, gelato shops all in walking distance. We walked to the colosseum cause it’s so close and easy to find. All the tourist attractions are minutes away by taxi or walk. Thanks to Alessandra for being so helpful with the checking process. Staff also quickly responds to WhatsApp and will help with any needs you might encounter.
La simpatía del personal tanto de recepción como de limpieza!!
Nos esperábamos otra cosa por las fotos que vimos.
Creative use of building with reception and rooms on third floor. great location across street from S.M. Maggorie. Super responsive communications via What’s App. Overall, we were very happy to be located a healthy walk away from chaos around the Forum and other attractions.
Super location with Santa Maria Maggiore literally right at the doorstep. The location is perfect: about a 10-minute walk from the Colosseum and close to lovely playgrounds for children. The room was clean and was maintained daily by housekeeping. The staff was always available for any questions and nothing was too much trouble. It is a historic building, so the rooms can be a bit noisy at times. However, if you are visiting Rome to explore the city and are looking more for adventure than for a perfectly quiet hotel room, this is a perfect option.
Its location -friendly staff ,very clean
Nothing
Great location ,friendly staff always available, very clean lobby & rooms - would definitely recommend to everybody
I really liked the location of Domus Liberius, as it’s perfectly situated between Termini Station and the Colosseum, making it easy to get around and explore Rome. The rooms are newly renovated and in excellent condition, very clean and comfortable. What truly stood out, though, was the outstanding service — everyone I interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.
We had so many problems with this hotel. If you are from the UK you will know Premier Inn hotels are grubby and dirty, usually reasonably cheap and this place is worse, yet charges over £200 a night. It's about 15 minutes walk to the train station, enough that it's a bit of a pain with luggage to be honest, the trains to the airport are from 14 euros each person each way. The metros and buses are unreliable and extremely busy, in most cases it's less stress to walk. Check in was pretty easy, when we went to the room we said to the lady we were not happy and asked for a room change. From then every time we went to the reception area there was never anyone there, I left notes and nothing was ever done. I complained to Expedia who were of no help whatsoever, directed me back to them, who of course who could not be bothered to address my issues. Quick enough to ask for the city tax though, again no one was there so we had to leave the money. The room had a sewage smell, it was how you can imagine. The bedsheets had a smell to them, I put towels over them as I didn't want to get in bed and I came out with hives. The noise from the hotel is really bad, you can not get a wink of sleep. You have people shouting inside and outside, along with loud music and it goes on all night. The room was not clean, bits all over the wooden floor and the room was in a massive need of an update. Grubbiness around the shower was mentioned months ago on a previous review and they said they would address and it hasn't been. The air conditioning sometimes worked, wasn't reliable and there was a smoke smell through the place. It is advertised as a smoke free property. They tell you on check in (not mentioned previously) that they want the city tax in cash only, I travel a lot and have always paid it by card and this was a massive inconvenience as we got charged at the cash machine. Absolute nightmare trying to speak to anyone at this place and no one wanted to help me, it completely spoilt our trip as we couldn't sleep, I was covered in hives and wanted to get home. Please do not make the same mistake as me by booking this place. It shouldn't even be £100 a night, let alone £215 a night! Absolute disgrace!
Great location- walkable to restaurants, many landmark sites and Termini station. Friendly staff and newer buildout. We really enjoyed our stay.
Tucked away but right in the middle of Rome. Near the train, hop on and be off buses short walk away. Hand full of restaurants nearby. Well maintained.
Great Base to Explore Rome We stayed at Domus Liberius for a few nights and found it to be an excellent base for exploring the city. The location is incredibly convenient, especially being so close to Roma Termini, which made both arrival and departure very easy. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a good layout and enough space for our luggage. Everything was well maintained and matched the description we saw online. There was some light movement in the building in the early morning, which is understandable in a shared property, but it didn’t affect our stay significantly. Overall, everything worked very well and we would definitely consider staying here again.
Easy, Modern and Very Well Managed Domus Liberius offers a very modern and efficient way to stay in Rome. From the moment we booked, everything was clearly explained and easy to follow, which made the arrival completely stress-free. The room itself was spotless, nicely furnished, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It felt fresh and well cared for, and the daily upkeep was excellent. We also appreciated how quiet it was at night, allowing us to rest properly despite being in such a lively area of the city. The support from the team was always available when needed, and responses were quick and helpful without ever feeling intrusive. If we had to mention one small detail, the bathroom was slightly compact, but still perfectly functional and clean. Overall, a very positive experience
Comfy stay in Roma We had a fantastic stay at Domus Liberius. The location is perfect, especially close to Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, and everything we wanted to see was within easy reach. What really stood out was how many services were available and how easy everything was to arrange. We booked a tour directly through the property, and it was beautiful — Julia and Andrew helped us with everything, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Breakfast was also very good, fresh and convenient before a full day in the city. The room was clean, quiet, and refreshed during our stay, including fresh sheets, which we appreciated. Everything felt smooth from arrival, including the pickup service and early check-in.
We had a really positive experience at Domus Liberius. Everything was smooth from check-in to check-out, and the location near Roma Termini made it super easy to move around. One thing we will never forget: Andrew warned us about pickpockets in the metro and specifically told us to keep an eye on our bags. On our second day, someone actually tried to open my partner’s marsupio on the metro — and we caught it in time because of his advice. That alone was priceless. The stay itself was clean, comfortable, and very well managed. Will return!
Love the charm of this place. Secret walkway, secret codes and lovely courtyard.
Comfortable Stay with Everything You Need Domus Liberius is a very practical and comfortable place to stay in Rome. The room was clean, quiet, and well maintained, and it had everything we needed for a short visit. The building is in a very central area, but once inside, it feels calm and relaxed. Communication was smooth throughout, and Julia was very helpful whenever we reached out. Recommended!
Reliable Choice in a Great Location We had a very good experience at Domus Liberius. The location is excellent, especially being close to Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, and everything we wanted to visit was easily accessible. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Nothing overly luxurious, but very well done and perfectly functional for a city stay. They gave us extra towels upon request which was nice, other places charged us for it. Andrew was always responsive and the whole staff helpful, which made the experience even more reassuring and stress-free.
Clean, Stylish and Thoughtfully Organized We really enjoyed our time at Domus Liberius. The room had a modern and clean design, and it was clear that attention had been paid to keeping everything in excellent condition. The location is ideal for walking to many attractions, and the area feels lively but still safe and accessible. It’s also very convenient for public transportation. One thing we appreciated was how easy everything was — from access to the room to the overall organization of the stay. The air conditioning took a little while to cool the room when we first arrived, but after that it worked perfectly. All in all, a very pleasant and comfortable stay.
We had a truly wonderful stay at Domus Liberius. The location is unbeatable, just steps from Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and within easy walking distance of Roma Termini, which made getting around incredibly convenient. The room was clean, spacious, and surprisingly quiet given how central it is. What really made the difference for us was the communication: everything was handled quickly and efficiently via WhatsApp, and we always felt supported. It’s a very modern and stress-free way to experience Rome. We would absolutely stay here again.
Great location near Termini station ( metro B ), very clean room and everything was simple from start to finish. We used the upgrade which was lovely cause the room had a view over the Basilica. Andrea a young gentleman helped us through out out whole stay! Lovely place - will def come back❤️
From the minute we booked with Domus Liberius we had an amazing service and fantastic communication! Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent location with walking distance to all the attractions. Room was lovely and clean. Communal space to make a hot drink. Such a warm welcome from Alessandra who was extremely helpful!
Tutto
Un po’ complicato aprire le porte
The hotel was easy to walk to from the termini station, it is very conveniently situated in the centre of Rome. The rooms were extremely clean and tidy. There is no coffee/ tea making facilities which was a shame, there is a kitchen area where they could simply provide hot water and cups as guests could keep coffee etc in their own rooms. The staff were friendly and welcoming and very helpful. They have a luggage storage area which was great on our last day due to a later flight. There is a lot of street noise but you would expect that in any countries capital city, and I loved hearing the bells ringing from the basilica opposite:)
From the second we booked the staff were helpful and friendly. The place is clean and wonderfully located.
Couldn't get a better location than this - right overlooking the Basilica Santa Maggiore! Really central for everything, and key sights like the Colosseum and Trevi and Spanish Steps etc all within easy walking distance (no more than 30 mins) - and the hotel is just 10 mins from the Termini station. The Whats App dialogue with the hotel from the very start was very useful, and the hotel felt very safe with the keypad entry systems on the doors leading to the rooms. Only downside were some slight issues in the bathroom (poor quality mastic sealing around the shower, loose shower fittings and a light not working over the sink etc), so not quite what we expected for a 'superior double room', but all-in-all, fairly reasonable value for such a location. Very busy area, with lots of constant traffic noise/car horns and church bells, but you get used to that pretty quickly, and it's all part of the Roman charm! Would we come back here - YES.
We love the location, cleanliness, security, staff and decoration/design of the hotel. We walked and took public transportation to tourist sites. There is a bus stop right at the entrance. Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica is right across the street. We had a wonderful vacation stay.
We had a wonderful stay at Domus Liberius. The location is fantastic, just steps from Santa Maria Maggiore and only a short walk from Termini station, which made it very easy to get around Rome. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet, and the staff were extremely kind and responsive. Communication through WhatsApp was quick and very helpful whenever we had questions. A great place to stay when visiting Rome.
I had a wonderful stay at Domus Liberius and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Rome. The location is fantastic — right in the historic center and within easy walking distance of many of the main sights, yet the area still feels authentic and local. What really made the stay special, though, was the level of hospitality. The team is incredibly kind, responsive and genuinely attentive. You can tell they truly care about their guests and want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable. Julia really satisfied all of our requests. The room was spotless, beautifully maintained and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the thoughtful details: a great coffee machine in the common areas, quality amenities, and a lovely welcome gift that made the experience feel personal rather than “standard hotel”. Everything was modern, quiet and perfectly organized. The digital check-in process was also extremely smooth. We received clear instructions and access codes in advance, which made arrival effortless, even outside reception hours. Their digital reception is on point. Whenever we needed something, the staff was quick to respond and always happy to help. Breakfast at a nearby café in the square, which turned out to be a great way to start the day like a local. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Rome♥️
Location not great No atmosphere in reception Rooms tired /extremely uncomfortable beds Value poor Cleanliness poor Noise level - dreadful heating system that made loud noises through the night Service - very poor- we checked out and asked if our luggage could be stored for 1 hour, we returned to find it left in reception unattended Amenities - average , nothing special Bed linen was clean and fresh clean towels daily Cobwebs
We really enjoyed our stay the room was clean and a lot bigger than I expected the staff were very friendly and professional. Also it is in a central location to a lot of the tourists destinations. It’s within a few minutes of the termini station and has lots of very good restaurants and stores nearby.
We had a wonderful couple of days at Domus Liberius. The staff is exceptional. They responded quickly to all of our queries. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the location is quite close to the main train station and many of the attractions, including the Colosseum.
Nice, clean, and very well positioned Hotel opposite to Santa Maria Maggiore (% minutes walk to Termini-Central Train Station)
The staff was truly amazing! They were all so helpful and responsive 24/7. Communication was continuous and coordinated several weeks before my trip, which gave me peace of mind that everything was well-organized. The location can be a little hard to find if you are relying on GPS, but the Domus Liberius team provided excellent directions via chat to ensure a smooth, stress-free arrival. The room itself provided everything I needed. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the heart of Rome!
Management was very professional, but not available at all times. They use an AI bot to discuss with you your needs instead. I was sick at the time, but when management did see my message they resolved it and helped me get medicine. It’s in a great location but it’s more of a boutique hotel with very limited services.
The location was great, short walk from the main train station with plenty of options around to eat. The room was clean and spacious, with an excellent view. There was a bit of traffic noise but that was to be expected due to location and we still slept well. I’ve only knocked off 1 star due to a smell that started in the bathroom, we reported this the following morning and was told it happens due to the age of the building usually in rainy weather. This can’t be helped but the weather had been very dry. Other than this we really enjoyed our stay.
Staff was very kind, and made it very easy to plan. Location was great, and a 5-minute walk to the train station, making it very convenient. The area was safe and the rooms were quiet, and the bed was very comfortable.
I can not thank the girls enough for the fantastic communication leading up to our stay and also during. The rooms were clean and everything we needed was available in the communal area. Beautifully set out rooms and building. The area surrounding was also great, no issues and a few shops locally. A really short walk away from the main terminal and only 10 minutes to the main 'attractions' so to speak. No issues at all. Thank you for a lovely stay
We spent 4 nights here for the Italy v Scotland Rugby match. Our room was good. Plenty room to move about. The location is good too. Opposite the Santa Maria Maggiore cathedral and 5 minutes walk from Roma Termini. We had some issues with the keypad entry system. I felt the shower could have been warmer. There is a lack of electrical sockets in the room (313) we had to disconnect the bedside lamps to charge our phones as the usb sockets didn't work. Also, the safe didn't work. However, we did have an enjoyable stay. Alessandro on the front desk was so helpful 👏 we would stay here again.
Amazing experience at this hotel !! The staff are so lovely and very helpful with any questions we had. They were just a message or phone call away when/if we needed something. The room was great and very clean. Our bed was made every day which was a nice touch. Would highly recommend!!!
Based in the shadow of Santa Maria Maggiore, Domus Liberius is in a great location - a quick walk from the station (Rome Termini) and an easy base for sight-seeing. The hotel has a real sense of Rome as you step through the wooden door from the street and find yourself in a tranquil courtyard - the perfect send of calm after a hectic day. The rooms are clean and modern - the lovely hot shower was particularly welcome. The staff are really helpful and communicating via What’s App means your questions are quickly answered. Great value for money.
Central location, friendly staff and comfortable. Clean and tidy rooms. Transport to airport is simple and close to trains
The customer service was superb. The room was clean and quiet; room service consistently good and on time. The location is definitely a huge plus. Really enjoyed the stay and will definitely return.
A wonderful place to stay. The hotel was clean, well maintained, and within walking distance of all major attractions. Alessandra at the reception was extremely kind and welcoming, and she even helped us with a city map, drawing a walking route for us. I would highly recommend this place.
El agua de l regadera salía fría
Highly recommend! The location itself is great! Only 17 min walk to colosseum! The room was clean and the staff was amazing!! It felt safe and secure with the codes to get to your room. Staff helped us with booking private transport to and from the airport which took stress off of us! It was a great stay!
Enjoyed our stay at Domus Liberius. The room was clean, bed comfy, and service of staff was good (you can WhatsApp message them with any questions/requests and they respond). Wifi at hotel worked well. The location is great as well - we walked to the Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, restaurants, and more. The only thing we were apprehensive of was because the reception isn't staffed 24/7 there are quite a few instructions on how to get inside the first time. Once we figured out the instructions thought it wasn't too bad. The hotel also offers taxi pick up from airport (at a cost) which I did and was grateful to have someone waiting for me at the airport when my flight got delayed and landed at 3am.
The location can't be beat - 10 minute walk to Termini Station - Rome's central train station - easy to get on the Leonardo Express to/from FCO/Termini. Close to the Metro as well. Plenty of places to grab a bite to eat nearby. The WhatsApp assistance was very good, but I wish the front desk were staffed more consistently, but the staff who were there were friendly and helpful. The one big criticism for me was the very slow Wi-Fi connection which often dropped. Something to consider. Maybe leave instructions on how to use the coffee machine?
Very nice. Walking distance from touristic must see points such as the Coliseum, Fontana de Trevi and others. The staff is very good as well, Jasmine was great welcoming us, giving tips and helping with the questions we had. We had a great time.
Locations 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Rooms 9/10 Value 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Jasmine was the best host ever! Everything was excellent.
We like the location as it is very close to everything! From Termini Station to Collosseum, Trevi Fountain and the Basilica. Jasmine was so nice, helpful and very accomodating. 😊 The room wad big for 3 persons. They even have a map and suggestions for the tourists spots and restaurants in the area. They helped me plan a little surprise for my partner's birthday. And it is opposite of St. Mary Maggiorre.
The service was impeccable someone to attend you 24/7. The rooms are very spacious and clean. My family and I especially loved the location close walk to everything!
Excellent stay at Domus Liberius We had a very good experience at Domus Liberius. The room was always very clean, spacious, and comfortable, which made our stay very pleasant. The bathroom was also spotless, something we really appreciated. The location is excellent, very close to Roma Termini station, making it easy to get around the city and manage transfers. The staff was very kind and helpful, and we had excellent communication with them at all times. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Rome!
Perfect hotel for me! The staff was amazing and took great care of me! I felt safe the entire time and the location was perfect! I will definitely be back :)
Our first time staying in Rome and this accommodation was amazing. The room was very spacious and clean. Great service from the team making our stay very easy with all the information we needed. The location of the room couldn't have been better. Located directly opposite the Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore meant you were directly in the middle of the city amongst the history. You are so close to the city that in the evenings it is bustling with people and such a great atmosphere, whether you research places to visit or eat you are bound to find so many great foods and shops to visit. All popular landmarks are within walking distance like the colloseum and Trivi fountain as well as multiple supermarkets and food places so you can stay with ease. For our first stay it blew our expectations and we will 100% be back again.
Our room was perfectly situated in front of the Basilica and centrally located that we were able to walk to most of the main attractions- trevi fountain, colosseum, pantheon, and the Spanish steps. There was a taxi stop right out front so made it super easy to get a ride to the airport and also close to Roma Terminal (train station) for when we came in from Venice. The team was super responsive to all my questions via WhatsApp and made check in super easy!
Great location near the train station. Rooms were nice/well kept. Staff was friendly and helpful. Access to the building/room outside of operating hours worked very easily.
Exceptional location right beside Basilica Santa Maria Major and very close to the main terminus train station. There is a bus stop at the front door. The room was large and very nice. Bed was firm. Everything was very clean and in good order. There is an elevator. Checking in was easy, they let us leave our luggage until check in time so we could enjoy our time. The reception employee was awesome! She was very friendly and helpful with key items like public transportation and where to eat. There are several excellent restaurants within 100 yards of the front door. It is in a very safe upscale area. They offer excellent private transportation from the airport or Civitavecchia for a reasonable competitive price. You should definitely take advantage of that great service. Total winner!! We LOVED our stay.
Just back from a great 3 night stay. There was lots of communication from the hotel before our stay as to how we would enter the gates and room using our special code as we arrived after 1pm. This was very simple to do and we were in without a problem. We were happy with the room although there are a few small signs of wear and tear. There is a wardrobe, safe and fridge and a comfortable bed. The bathroom is nice and big. We loved the view from the window on the 3rd floor. Another great thing about this hotel is the location. It cant get much better. Its less than a 10 minute walk from the Termini station when getting the Leonardo Express from the airport. We managed to walk to all the main attractions as they are all walkable from the hotel. The staff we met were friendly and approachable and were always available on Whatsapp if out of working hours. I would 100% recommend staying at the Domus Liberius for your Rome stay and thank you
Great stay at Domus Liberius. Stayed for 2 nights traveling to see family in the south of Italy. Very clean. Kind staff. Will definitely stay here again as we travel to Italy once a year.
The location of Domus Liberius is phenomenal. It is just across the road from Santa Maria Maggiore church (Saint Mary Major). There are restaurants and coffee bars nearby. Also, we dropped our luggage off before returning our rental car (who needs a car in Rome with such a great bus service) and while most hotels do not have a place to load/unload a car, Domus Liberius has a tiny "road" entrance on the pedestrian pavement where one can park for a few minutes. The hotel is on the 3rd floor with an elevator. The modern decor is very pleasing and clever by transforming high ceilings into a cozy living space. There is a great security system, and one uses a keypad to enter one's room, with en-suite bathroom. It was such a pleasure not to need a key or key card. There was one step down to get into the hotel room, and one step up to get into the bathroom. So anyone with mobility issues might ask for a different room. The young team running the establishment was very efficient and although we had a late check-in, Andrea was there to help us unload our car and help us to our room. There is a lovely area to relax and make tea and coffee. We really enjoyed our stay. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and with Google Maps we could move about freely and feel like a local. Highly recommend, we would definitely stay here again.
The tap in the washhand basin was a little tight and stiff, so it was difficult to control the flow to a calm flow, instead it was a wild gush.

If you are on the fence about staying here do not be, this is a great place for Family. The people who checked us in were very Friendly and Nice! We only stayed one night but we would stay here again. This place was close walking distance to the train station. We also walked from here to the colosseum. Room was a decent size and bed was comfortable. Thank you Julia and Cristina :)
Thank you, we enjoyed our stay, it was convenient, had everything, wifi, nearby restaurants, security. Staff were very friendly, & informative.
We had a wonderful stay! The staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Its central location made it easy to explore many of the city’s main monuments and attractions. Highly recommend!
Wonderful hotel - clean and convenient for all the sights of Rome. I had a large room on the front of the hotel facing directly on to Santa Maria Maggiore
Loved the location, customer service, cleanliness and affordable price, very convenient to get a taxi, big bus, nice restaurants and shopping, specially shopping!!!
Lovely clean room with friendly staff and perfect location for exploring the city from, with the advantage of the Santa Maria Maggiore bell tower to guide you home
The location and place were great. This obviously used to be one of the amazing buildings with incredibly high ceilings and well maintained. It is located well with only 15 minutes to walk to the Colosseum and across from an amazing Basilica with the very moving grave of Pope Francis. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Definitely very good value - not the lap of luxury but clean, well equipped and comfortable.
A great base to explore Rome, a lovely view each morning as you walk out the main doors of Basilica Maria Maggiore, a few restaurants nearby and Gelato shops so perfect if you don't want to go far in the evening to eat out. Room was very clean, simple but has what you need. There's a kettle and coffee machine which was a great addition to the small lounge area. Would stay again as not too far from the main attractions and only a few minutes from the Termini station, so if flying into FCO airport catch the train into Rome and walk to the hotel it's easy.
