The room was beautiful and clean; we had a bit of a problem with the DSTV remote but that was sorted out very fast by the maintenance crew. We ordered food from the restaurant, and they brought it straight to the room which was very convenient as we have two small boys that cannot sit still. He staff are friendly and accommodation and the location is quiet and peaceful .

Devlin Ngobeni,incredible person.Assisted us with all the questions we had and that time she was so far from the accommodation.Meeting Devlin made my experience worth it.She even took us on a tour and showed the wedding venue .A friend of mine also mentioned her and and how helpful she is ✨✨ I also loved the facilities ✨

The waiters at the restaurant,I feel like some need training.Seemed to be unsure of a lot of things ,took time to collect order and they kept talking while people needed to place orders.There was a couple next to us who were also pissed because it felt like you had to stand to get help .My Husband stood up a lot of times while they were talking to get assistance. Food was amazing and I enjoyed the drinks.The restaurant has so much potential.

The only savings grace was Sindi at reception and Phillip the bar man. These 2 people did everything in their power to save the day.

We were informed by reception that we would need to purchase our own firewood (and fire lighters, matches, kindling) - it was freezing and raining. To add insult to injury you had to carry it to your cabin yourself. Arriving in the dark it was near impossible to find our ‘cottage’ due to poor lighting and signage. The cabin had a broken toilet, broken toilet roll holder, filthy walls in toilet and bathroom, light fittings broken and hanging from walls and ceilings and old, dated ‘decor’. Beware of an added charge for ‘conservation’ of their own property!

Reception, when we arrived I was just given keys to our room. Nothing explained or given a leaflet about resort. Second day I went to reception and asked for it as I saw other guests having it. Unprofessional behaviour of restaurant staff chatting on their phones in front of guests. Hospitality training for reception and restaurant staff is needed.

The premises are great

Service- awakwend at night 12 pm by shouting and noize from either staff and or visitors.Nobody at reception availible to stop the noize ,also no spoons for yogurt on table, next day no servette .On Monday there was no filter coffee provided. the supervisor in the dinner/breakfast room is non exsisting.

The carpet in the room was filthy. On the last day our room didn’t have water and when we reported the issue it wasn’t treated with urgency. We booked out without a shower or even brushing our teeth.

Staff needs training in serving people . Generally the service provided is sub standard . On checkout an invoice could not be provided as the printer and IT system had a glitch . Requested my invoice get sent via email .. still waiting for the email

The on-site restaurant is so convenient and the food was great. The view is gorgeous!!

The restaurant service was great but kids were allowed to run around other tables, sing and dance while others are trying to have an intimate meal whilst staff just smiled at them. The room was a it of a disappointment - there was no firewood upon arrival. The serviceman/keeper brought us a bag the next day stating that he had forgot about it the day before. He also asked if we had any leftovers for him. Although there was a fireplace in the lounge the room was really cold without a heater. The single electric blanket over a double bed

Very nice cottage, well equipped. We enjoyed our stay at Dunkeld.

The view from this cottage was quite disappointing. Weve stayed in much better units before, but this one was on the main road with no view. It would be nice if the chalet had a small heater for the room since it gets really cold and the fireplace doesnt heat up the rooms as well. We traveled with a 3mth old baby and that is quite necessary for the rooms.

The was no electricity on day 1. They didn’t have iron, we requested from reception n they said they hv limited iron they will give us immediately they hv it, we waited the whole day n night for iron until in the morning we went to reception to request for iron face to face , they said they will send smone to bring it, we waited again for hours before checking out time n dat someone came at checking out time to only say they dnt hv iron hao bathong !!!!!!!!!

The room, garden, and facilities were nice.

The staff was really not that helpful, and the door in my room was broken. The staff at the restaurant were not helpful at all. They were just standing around, not assisting us at all.

Only one bed had an electric blanket with not enough blankets but they gave us more when we asked the next day Bathrooms and toilets are only downstairs Bedding was torn The gyser is too small, only 3 people could shower and we had to wait an hour for water to be warm. I am writing to share my experience during my recent stay at your property. We arrived on Saturday to celebrate my husband’s birthday and checked in after receiving a call from reception asking if I was coming. This was concerning, as earlier that morning I had already confirmed via email with reservations that my booking was guaranteed for three nights so already the disconnect between reservations and front office was concerning. Upon check-in, the process itself was smooth, but the condition of the room was disappointing. The room did not smell fresh, the carpet was stained, the occasional chairs were dirty and overall cleanliness was lacking. I immediately notified reception, and housekeeping was sent to assist, but the issues persisted because tell me why when we went to the restaurant the table that we were allocated for had dirty cutlery. I requested a room change, as I could see that other rooms were available, but this was initially declined. Further inspection revealed that the bed had no mattress protector or fitted sheet, the mattress itself was badly stained, the electric blanket was faulty, and the bedding did not smell clean. The following day, after much back-and-forth with reception, I was eventually moved to another room. However, this only happened after I explained my background in hospitality, which made me feel that my concerns were not taken seriously until then. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the cleanliness and service. I even considered checking out on the first night, but the lack of refund options prevented me from doing so. Unfortunately, the experience did not feel like value for money, and it fell short of the standards I expected.

The rooms are equipped with fireplaces and it was peaceful

No booklet,phone or pamphlet in the rooms and the reception phone is always busy,as it same number for everything ,so you have to go in person for any form of communication .

No tea/coffee. Not enough activities for kids, especially under 6. No information on amenities around the area, no contacts displayed for any service for example we needed an iron without having to go to reception. No free WiFi or WiFi password supplied.

The views of the property were breathtaking. A beautiful and peaceful getaway.

The smaller lodge units really need some work. Dated and under maintained. The door didn’t lock properly from the outside, looks like the fitting had been tampered with. Loose or missing bathroom fixtures, loose toilet seat. Just general wear and tear that requires better upkeep and modernisation.

Dullstroom itself is awesome

Unit didnt have a microwave as listed. Braai grill was in a terrible state. Not enough warm bedding for 4 people(only two blankets). Missing items such as braai container. Heated swimming pool out of order.

Friendly staff members, the reception was exceptional. Food delicious, restaurant and bar facilities close to the rooms.

The land. The land is beautiful. The lakes, the grass. The sky. The mountains. Its beautiful land.

Facilities advertised not working. Like a heated indoor pool. No fresh towels, the chalet besides out caught fire. Our bath leaked and thus we couldn't bath to keep warm in the 0 degree weather. We were afraid ti make a fire too much in case our chalet also catches fire. We lent our extinguisher and they never brought us a new 1. Terrifying.

Le petit déjeuné reste très simple. Le personnel est accueillant, d’autres un peu moins. Les lodge ne sont pas chauffé donc en hiver c’est très très froid. Les équipements de la cuisine moyen. Notre four et plaque à gaz ne marchait pas. Le mobilier vieillot. La propriété est superbe.

Location worked well for our trip through the region. Very comfortable Accomadation and restaurant onsite is convenient. Enjoyed walking the grounds.

Kitchen did not have a kettle!

Very disappointing

We checked out a day earlier as the chalet wasn't well equipped. No microwave, very challenging with a baby. Beds were not made up when we checked in. Pillowcases were only delivered to chalet at 10 pm. TV wasn't working, was replaced at 10 pm.

Location of the House was nice but we were not aware there was no heating and should have been told to make sure to buy wood for the fireplace

It’s a beautiful estate. Unfortunately we have to drive past a dirty location to get there

The estate itself is beautiful, the deluxe rooms need a serious upgrade with the floors in the bathroom unravelling and cracks in the walls. The staff at reception and the restaurant need serious training. We asked reception for basic room soap. She made a call to sort it, but when we got back from dinner hours later, it still hadn't arrived. Dinner was even worse. We ordered a simple salad and fish fillet. After waiting an hour, we enquired about our food, waited another 20 minutes, and eventually just gave up. Asking to pay for our drinks so we could leave took another 15 minutes. The waiters didn't know the menu at all and were completely unprofessional. Great location, but amateur service.

Beautiful and cozy chalet. Everything is neat and clean.

Chalet needs a bit of overall maintenance to ensure that everything remains up to standard.

Once you are inside it is a fairytale place, the accommodation was clean and very comfortable. The beds was a highlight with the heated blankets. Big and spacious and definitely worth the price.

The fireplace in the living room did not have a cover so when making fire on a cold night all the smoke comes out of the fireplace

The room was very cold, and it would have been helpful if a heater had been provided. Check-in was only available at 16:00, and check-out was at 10:00 the following morning. As we stayed for only one night, this gave us very limited time to make use of the accommodation.

Everything!! And more! From arriving to a room which stunk of vomit, to going to their restaurant which served the most disgusting tasting food imaginable. This place, which doesn't deserve a title remotely close to hotel should simply not be allowed to operate. After agreeing their room provided stunk of vommit they hesitated to change our room. Eventually they did with another room which which also was absolutely gross. Some weird burn / stain mark on the carpet. No mattress for my kids, I had to go with the restaurant manager to remove the mattress from vomit room, shove it in his van and transport to the new room. No help, just told sorry we knocking off soon so sort yourself out. The place grimey my wife slept fully clothed sitting up on the couch. To make matters even worse, we wanted to shower in the morning before we continued our road trip, and there was no hot water. I didnt even bother. This place is the most disgusting property and I plead to all unbeknowing guests STAY AWAY!!!

Activities.

It is very family orientated. Loved the horse rides, fishing, four wheeler rides. Our chalet was right infront of the lake which was so beautiful. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. A short ride from Dullstroom town so it’s easy to pop into town when needed. The restaurants food is good.

The unit did not feel clean. The white bedding had stains on. And I found hair in our bed and in the corners of the bathroom. The sleeper coach had brown marks on. It’s seems the unit just needs a proper deep clean. The massage and lady who Massaged me was so good but the front desk staff at the spa were not friendly or helpful and made you feel like an inconvenience when entering the spa. The heated pool was out of order…. We were not notified about that before or when we arrived at the resort… we only found out once we tried to swim. We picked this resort because of the indoor heated pool for Winter, so we were disappointed.

The cottages are dumps! No one should have to pay so much money for a dump. The photos shown are definitely false advertising. Everything is run down and old. It’s cold. There’s a fireplace but you must source your own wood. Uncomfortable sleeper couch. Tiny bed, with light see through sheet, no mattress protecter. No hand wash soap and towel in the toilet

Loved the location! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was perfect.

The on site restaurant was unfortunately disappointing.

Chalets non adaptés aux réservations en hiver. On ne peut pas arriver avant 16h et quand on arrive personne ne nous explique qu’il n’y a pas de chauffage, on doit demander à la réception et c’est seulement à ce moment là qu’on apprend qu’on doit ACHETER son propre bois (avec allume-feu et allumettes) pour pouvoir allumer la cheminée qui n’est même pas adaptée pour chauffer un chalet de cette taille! Nous avons eu froid toute la nuit! De plus, le sol était atrocement sale

Where to start? I am sure you are aware of these issues, because there are numerous reviews on Trip advisor that tell a similar story. The actual chalets are nothing like shown on the website or booking sites which is blatant false advertising. Our equestrian chalet had a totally broken fireplace, even after selling us wood at the “convenience store”. There was an upturned bin outside our unit with rubbish strewn everywhere. The condition of the doors and bathrooms was abysmal. I called the reception service mobile number but it went to message twice and nobody called me back. The service at the restaurant was really slow and waiters were wearing tracksuits and beanies. They had no clue about the food served. There was no trout in stock. We came all the way to Dullstroom for a fire and the famous trout! We settled for the fish and chips which was rubbery and the chips tasteless. My son’s steak was so tough he had to chew and spit some of it out. The staff were trying their best but clearly there is no management of this establishment. I sent a complaint to the management and to their credit they replied with the offer of a voucher to stay agin, however we are unable to and not likely to want to either. I also found the response to my valid complaints to be dishonest and with no indication of steps that would be taken to resolve. Please do your research and look at reviews on a few sites before planning to stay here.

Clean air. The animals. Friendly staff. The trees!!!!! The bathroom and shower and the view were awesome.

The people that answered questions on the phone before arrival gave wrong information. I've asked about coffee making facilities to which they answered yes but there wasn't any such facilities in our room. They need to be better informed.

The rooms are spacious and luxurious, and I really enjoyed my time here. I requested vegan meals a week in advance and appreciated how hard the staff worked to cater to me. They were all so friendly and helpful.

I would recommend adding at least 4 vegan options to the menu so it’s easier for plant-based travelers.

The atmosphere was very peaceful, breakfast was really nice, dinner , i enjoyed the most and the guy who assisted with the fire wood was very friendly and helpful. Horse riding was enjoyable, the guys are very friendly, helpful and reassuring

The place we booked did not look lie what i saw in pictures on Booking.com, Our house HC11(self catering) was not clean, the couch was smelly and has dirty patches of old dirt and drinks spills. It was cold we made fire but did not help, no aircon We wanted to book for massage at the spa, the cell phone was not answered and email bounced back

The country cottage we stayed in was a little neglected . The main bedroom sliding door was stuffed with toilet paper?! The coffee table was broken , and table in the bathroom The toaster was also broken so difficult to hold down to toast We expected a cottage equipped for the cold however had to ask for blankets. Its was 3 bedroom 6 sleeper and only had 3 blankets. Also no blankets to sit in the lounge etc. we did have the fire going but took long to warm up the open area Just thought it can be made more cozy Thanks

The housekeeper was not good and the room was not ready on check in. Check in is also very late as 14:00 i feel is reasonable. The attention to detail from a maintenance is lacking and this takes away from the experience.

I loved the how homely it was even though it was very cold. The fire place helped to warm up the house.

The conference facility catering could have been much better as we were small group, the food was worth what we paid for.

Some parts of the venue were full of horse dung and which made it difficult to walk on nor have a picnic. The pool was dirty. The staff took too long to attend to the water caused by the leak in the basin.

Everything - we had a wonderful time.
