Exellent Stay. Breakfast was fab 😊😊
Clean, stylish and very welcoming, also one of the only hotels that’s dog friendly
We love everything about it. Just costs a bit too much imo
Room very well laid out, comfortable.
I think I was charged for 2 breakfasts, although there was only 1 of me.
L’emplacement, la chambre et la salle de bains
Le prix exorbitant au regard des prestations ( pas de salle de sport, pas d’équipements type spas ou piscine )

Location
Nothing really. A little pricey for a night but ok otherwise.
Hôtel was described as dog friendly, but we weren’t allowed to use any of the main communal areas. We we’re also not provided with any of the dog friendly amenities offered. Room had the ugliest view and very loud extractor unit outside.
Lovely room - very comfortable with a sea view. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Very close to beach and bonus that this is a dog friendly hotel.
Seaside location and views were outstanding.
Everything was great! Staff were fantastic and room was excellent with amazing views
Perfect location. Lovely staff. Very comfortable
Location. Breakfast was good. Staff were attentive and helpful.
Our car was parked in car park at rear. On our first night someone clipped it and left a scrape on the rear of the vehicle.
The best thing about this hotel is the location - It is very close to golf courses and the beach and a great set off point for exploring St Andrews in general. What a great town! On the surface, this hotel seemed great - our room was quite lovely and the public areas of the hotel are appealing. But we had several issues that added up to an overall disappointing stay. The power went out in our room for several hours and no-one knew how to fix it (or seemed to care about the problem). Food in the restaurant was hit and miss and service was very poor at times - one member of staff in particular was just plain rude. We were overcharged on our bill by quite a bit and this took some time to sort out. As I'm writing this some months after our stay I'm going to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt and assume that these issues have been rectified, hence the four star rating. But perhaps I'm being too generous?
The location is perfect, near golf and beach
The room doesnt have airco, its warm
Recommend the Steak Tartare and the Sunday roast. All the staff go above and beyond. I am a local and know all the establishments and rate du vin, St Andrews as an overall winner. Very dog friendly.
Rooms are of good size, cosy and clean
Nothing stood out
This is a nice and very relaxing hotel, very well located in St Andrews about 5 minutes walk to the Old Golf Course and 10 minute walk to the centre of St Andrews and 10 minutes walk to the castle.
Nothing in particular - but for the price, I might have been expected to be surprised a bit more. There were a few little niggles, that you might not expect in an expensive hotel. Room was a bit too hot and the windows did not open very wide. Breakfast was fine but a bit underwhelming.
La ubicación. La tranquilidad.
Great location, friendly staff
.
"Brimming with character" means a tiny attic room with sloped walls at Hotel Du Vin. The Classic Rooms (our 2 were definitely NOT pictured on website) were also hot and stuffy, requiring you to keep the tiny dormer window open all night. It was hard to sleep with the noise the birds made. For $630 per night, this hotel fell well below expectations. One of our rooms had a double bed, not the promised "sumptuous king" or twin. Not worth the money! That said, staff were warm and the common spaces are well appointed.
A un passo dal club house old course. Camera spaziosa e pulita. Colazione buona
Le scale x arrivare alla reception molto scomode se si ha più di una valigia. Lo scarico del lavabo troppo lento. X il livello dell’hotel non dovrebbe solitamente succedere
Great time at Hotel Du Vin. Fantastic location 2 blocks from the old course. Food was very good. 8 guys on a golf trip and it met everyone's requirements. Service and hospitality were second to none especially our server Esme. She treated us like family the whole time we were there. The hotel would be great for a couples get away too.
The hotel was awesome - great and very clean! Want to highlight the wait staff and Esme in particular. First Class Server !! very customer service focused and very friendly and professional
Excellent hotel in the heart of St. Andrew’s. Perfect for those looking for a home base after a day on the links. The staff was awesome from check in to check out. Clean rooms, beautiful views, great service, excellent food and proximity to everything you’d want on vacation. A special thank you to Esme and Erin for taking care of our group throughout our stay. They went beyond expectations.

Very welcoming and helpful staff
Location and scenery were phenomenal.
The key for room was awkward to carry. Didn’t care for room location. A bad view
Location and service was exceptional.
The amenities, location and the restaurant were just great. The best part is the staff, Kelsey, Beth, and Lyanna at the front desk were fabulous. Tom, Jazz, Abri, Erin Katrina in the restaurant did everything to make our meals awesome.

Location was very good, nice rooms.
Only issue was the safe did not work and although I mentioned this it was not fixed. Minor issue.
Chambre très confortable tout était parfait
Fenêtres un peu difficile à ouvrir
They offered us an upgrade. The rooms were stunning. The bar was divine. The location is perfect
Brilliant family week end away .. the team was superb and welcoming, the dining from diner to bar and breakfast was exceptional… attention to details in a professional manner. The room was superb and we managed to relax as a family. Andrei and the team couldn’t have done enough to make our stay as memorable as possible. Thank you we will be back soon, amazing hotel.
The location of the property on the Scores is great, despite parking being limited. Staff were friendly & accessing the property was simple.
Having stayed at this hotel previously when it was the Golf Hotel, we were looking forward to revisiting past memories. What we found was a complete makeover that removed all history & left the property without charm or soul. For the price of the Hotel & its supposed 5 star, the room we were given was the size of a shoe box & there were no comforts, including the bed which would have suited a Premier Inn or similar.
We stayed for one night on 3rd May to celebrate our anniversary, having paid £300 for what we expected to be a special experience. Unfortunately, it fell well below even basic expectations. From the start, the service felt disinterested and unwelcoming. At breakfast, we weren’t even acknowledged and had to go back to reception just to get someone to seat us. When we finally got in around 9am, several items had already run out—including orange juice—and nothing was being proactively replenished. The cooked breakfast itself was poor in quality, and the coffee machine was running out of milk, which again required us to chase staff rather than anything being managed properly. Throughout the morning, there was a clear lack of attention and organisation. For a hotel charging this price point, this level of service is unacceptable. What should have been a memorable anniversary stay ended up being frustrating and disappointing. I wouldn’t return or recommend based on this experience
Great location. Large suites.
Restaurant staff were lovely. The food just tasteless.
Gone off milk in room. Asked to replace but wasn't done. Food in bistro was bland . No flavour whatsoever.
Super clean, free parking and the location is 10/10 Quick walk into town and a golf balls hit away from the 1st tee of the old course
location was perfect 2 min walk to the 18th hole of the old course 5 min walk t center of town which is filled with pubs and restaurants and st andrew castle and the university. The bistro inside the hotel great food, the breakfast options are great and it was nice to have dinner there twice. the pub was extremley comfortable and inviting and great selection of scotch whisky. the staff at the front desk very friendly and helpful.
Everything was great and will stay there when i come back
Location by sea
Dark room basement room and window was fire exit this wasn't clear in booking.
The room we had at the back of the property was quite noisy with the window open
Loved the breakfast. One of the best we had in Scotland. The room was small but fine the location was the best. we could get where we needed to be by walking. We would stay again and again.
no stairs. Next time I will ask for a room on a different level
Location was excellent and there was free parking right outside the hotel
The room was very comfortable however, one of the towels had a couple of holes and was threadworn and although a coffee machine provided, there was no milk (creamer) or sugar. The room was on the second floor with a Velux window and most of the night I was kept awake by squawking seagulls (not much the hotel could do about the seagulls but ask not to be on the top floor). I felt a little understaffed at breakfast.
Lovely Easter weekend here. Can see the improvements since last visit. Staff were great - in particular reception staff. We felt we were very well looked after. Good food, great location. Will be back !
Fantastic location and beautiful room (Standard room - so no sea view, but fabulous beds and powerful shower). Great housekeeping - immaculate (and friendly). Only negative was the quality and cost of breakfast - which was disappointing. £44 for two - with an automatic self-serve coffee machine, a pretty unexciting, dry cooked breakfast and rather unsmiling service. Needless to say, we didn't have breakfast the second morning.
They were able to accommodate slightly late check out to make my sauna time so much easier!
Declined daily room service but did not know how to get more coffee easily so disappointed. Front desk staff often not around and others would go find for me to get the key so seemed a gaff to go get coffee sachets for the. Ornkng
Welcoming and efficient, big thanks to Beth and Kelsey for looking after us so well.
Location is ideal for exploring St Andrews. Staff alll excellent. Food waa very good and bar area very comfortable
Common spaces on ground floor, decoration, dining room, bar, etc
Door into bedroom was difficult to open - heard other people trying to get into their rooms having the same problem
After having a near heart stopping moment when the staff at the bistro could not find our reservation in the morning for a family lunch for 19 to celebrate my mums 93rd Birthday, the staff at the Hotel could not have done any better we were in a lovely room at the side and were given a complimentary drink for the stress caused which was a really nice touch. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal and I cannot fault the staff they went above and beyond. I want to give particular praise to the young girl who was looking after us I am sure her name was Kelsey she is a credit to the Hotel Du Vin and could not have been nicer. Well done to all it was a great afternoon and for St Andrews was terrific value for Money which cant be said about many other places in St Andrews.
The food was sensational and the service was first class. The hotel is a beautiful combination of elegance, comfort, with a very relaxed atmosphere. It truly felt like home away from home. No detail was missed! I was travelling with a broken foot and the staff were very accommodating.
Hard to mess with perfection and this hotel was virtually perfect. A lot of doors to manoeuvre through, but something I only noticed given I was on crutches. Can’t really call this a negative, as I wouldn’thave given it a second thought if I’d had two good feet.
every thing
The location and setting are so perfect. Walking out the front entrance and seeing the beach is a great way to start off your day. The rooms are very comfortable. I was traveling with 3 other friends for a golf trip. We had 2 rooms with 2 twin beds. Getting to the old course could not be easier. Walk out the front door take left and walk less than 5 min and you are overlooking the 18th fairway and green and you can see the swilcan bridge. If you walk out the rear entrance you are about 5 to 10 min walk to the downtown area filled with shopping and restaurants and pubs. Walking out the front door and you take a right 10 min walk and you are visiting the st Andrew’s cathedral and st Andrew university. The front desk were so helpful and very knowledgeable and gave wonderful recommendations of places to eat. Beth was extremely helpful when we were trying to secure a taxi and for myself trying to find the bus station location. The bistro has wonderful food and the bar was very comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
Ideal location with beautiful views of the golf course and West Sands. Easy access to restaurants, bars and shops

The location was great…. Room was clean with ample outlet. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful young lady as our bartender in the bar area, Erin. She was elegance without pretense, natural assured and enduring. A pleasure to speak with and made the best Espresso Martini. I recommend stopping by and make sure you ask for Erin
Erin , the quietly sophisticated bartender at the hotel bar, radiated a composed, almost effortless grace. When asked if she can make our favorite, an espresso martini, she answered with understated yet impeccably polished enthusiasm. Her espresso martini was nothing short of perfection! Attentive and accommodating, she radiated enthusiasm for those she served. The hotel was impeccably clean, great location and walking distance to everything, pubs, sights, golf and in the heart of St. Andrews. Beds and bedding extremely crisp, clean and comfortable and kind staff.
Everything from service to location to cleanliness to food to bar to perfection all of it….
There was absolutely nothing that I could have needed than what was offered!!
We have just returned home following a two night stay at Hotel Du Vin. We booked our room about 6 months ago as we knew we would be attending a wedding in the town and very glad we picked this hotel. We visit St Andrews often, but have never stayed here before. Now that we have, we will definitely return. We were fortunate enough to find a parking space at the front area on both occasions we needed to park, so that was great (and it’s free which is even better). We stayed on the 2nd floor in the “Glenlivet” room - it was spacious, well decorated and well appointed and we were very comfortable for our two nights there. As we knew in advance we would be out and about, meeting friends etc, we booked room only but would love to try the breakfast next time we stay. We did enjoy a couple of drinks in the bar area (and delicious bar nibbles too) - it was comfortable, a relaxed area and the staff were lovely. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay indeed. We will return and I would definitely recommend it too.
Loved the location. The room was well appointed and the heated floors were amazing. The whiskey bar and restaurant were top level. The beach and st Andrews right in front was gorgeous.
Nothing
Just refurbished, peacefully and tranquility Easy access beautiful spot in St Andrews!
Nothing!
Beautiful hotel. Location brilliant. Staff very friendly. We did only have room only so can't say anything about the food. It suited us to opt to forego housekeeping as only there 3 nights and the receptionist gave us 2 x £15 vouchers towards drinks at the bar. Excellent idea! Will definitely return!
Nothing!
Noisy!! Lovely hotel as you’d expect from the Hotel Du Vin chain. However if you book for a Friday or Saturday night and are unlucky enough to clash with an event in their function room, expect to get no sleep until midnight. I see several people have complained about this before, and made suggestions that they give the rooms above the event to people at the event, but they clearly don’t.
The staff are some of the most courteous, helpful and simply nice that we've met. Nice & clean room and bathroom Our dogs were made extremely welcome. The hotel is genuinely dog friendly
We would have liked to have breakfast at the hotel, but 20 each was too expensive, so had to find somewhere else. Another guest had charged their 69 pounds worth of drinks to our room. The staff removed this charge without fuss, but we were unhappy that those guests have deliberately got away without paying. Can the hotel use a better way of establishing who the guest is when paying for something so that they aren´t out of pocket either.
Very comfortable clean and friendly. Great location for walks shopping sightseeing
Nil
What can I say… from the incredible staff who go above and beyond to make your stay feel special, to the fantastic food and drink, to the absolutely gorgeous rooms (the ‘Ma Bells’ room is just stunning), I genuinely can’t fault a single thing. I’ve decided that when I win the lottery, I’m moving in permanently. Beth at reception is just the best
Stayed here 25th March - everyone that worked here was so nice ; dinner and breakfast awesome. I had a young dog and I’m sure she enjoyed the welcome too! Will 100% be back - hospitality to do this well must be quite an effort so thanks to all.
Stayed here for a couple of nights recently, and enjoyed our stay very much. Lovely spacious room (not with a sea view!) which was very comfortable. Good shower and large comfy bed! Breakfast was excellent. Great selection all round. Unfortunately we weren’t particularly keen on their dinner menu. Not a great selection and quite expensive. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Would certainly return at some point.
Fabulous central location. Lovely staff, very nice comfortable room. Good level of darkness for sleeping and nicely quiet.
Not many dinner menu choices for vegetarians Space for breakfast food a little cramped and not a very wide choice of cold items
Location and service
All excellent
The staff were uniformly helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts were excellent.
The hotel could definitely do with some freshening up of some of the public spaces.
Room, views, bar/coffee/breakfast areas. Parking in the neighbourhood was free.
Checkout could be faster. There was some mild unpleasant smell in the lobby area.
Great location hotel and staff
Our pet was made to feel very welcome and the dog bed and treats were really good.
Herrliche Lage mit Meerblick, sehr freundliches Personal, wunderschöne Zimmer.
Location Staff Very friendly and helpful
No shoe horn Shower cap missing Safe didn’t work
Lovely room in a great location. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was ok but a bit basic for a hotel of this standard.
Breakfast was excellent, a very good choice and well presented.
Location ideal
Road works limited the parking
Lovely bedroom, dinner was excellent.
We liked the location however I have mobility issues and we were not told we should enter from the back of hotel therefore we had to walk up the side lane and upstairs to get to the rear to check in. We liked the breakfast and the decor of the room. I did feel that nearly £300 was quite expensive for one night B&B.
Great location on the coast
My partner and I had an exceptional two night stay at Hotel du Vin St Andrews. From the moment we arrived, every single member of staff was warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful, which made the whole stay feel really special. The room was excellent and very comfortable, and the location right by the sea is just stunning. Breakfast was also a real highlight. It was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had. A fantastic stay all round and we will definitely be back!
