Beautiful pool area, good-sized room, breakfast was fine. Well priced overall. Fabulous spa area with excellent massage and beauty facilities.

We'd have like to have had a safe in the room and more insect protection on the front door eg screens or a tight fitting door.

The breakfast was quite nice. The pool facilities were excellent.

The room was old and run down. The couch was very uncomfortable and the upstairs floor felt like we could have stepped through it.

I almost don't want to share how wonderful this place is so that it's available when I return next but I also want others to have this amazing experience. And to give them the credit they deserve. This little resort was so great that I ended up extending my stay. All of the staff - from reception, the restaurant, housekeeping, security and the spa - all took the time to learn my name and treated me so well. I was sad to leave. The location is exceptional. Everything is very cost friendly. The food was superb with so many choices. The massages at the spa were out of this world. The duplex star room (I had room D) was incredibly spacious with a lovely view. As a solo female traveller, I felt incredibly safe and cared for. They even come around in the evenings with lit mozzie coils. The huge king bed had a full mosquito net as well as spray by the bed but I had no issues with any even though I'm usually a good target for them. The friendly housekeeping staff did a fantastic job and were always very polite about entering the space if I was there, even when I was on the balcony. Nothing was too much trouble. One thing to note is that the duplex rooms are up a flight of external (undercover) stairs and then the room itself is two levels, with the bedroom up some rather steep stairs. If you have mobility issues, you may want to choose a ground floor room. Otherwise, they're easy enough to get used to.

Very hard to find fault. Personally I wasn't a fan of their coffee but there were plenty of other options. Upon returning home, I have realised that the mattress could probably have done with a soft topper for extra comfort but honestly, it was still perfectly fine.

It was so wonderful that I extended my stay. Absolutely exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to visit again.

Not my first time here , it’s tradition and since the upgrade to the pool and restaurant it’s freshened it up . Food is always good too . Staff always wonderful 🥰

This is a smaller hotel - maybe 20 rooms. Our room was ground floor tucked at the back so it was very quiet and private. It was spacious and had a comfy bed with good pillows. The pool is medium sized with no shortage of pool beds. Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant itself had an extensive menu. All the staff were amazing - all of them. Putu, Widya and restaurant staff were our morning highlight. We loved our stay. ❤️

Unfortunately with most hotels in Bali if yr room is ground floor you do hear the noises of yr upstairs neighbours. Can keep u up if it’s their big night out. But overall we didn’t let it bother us.

Everything was great. Staff were lovely, rooms were big, very clean, and I loved the traditional design. Gardens and pool also beautiful. Less than 5 min walk to sunset beach. Saw squirrels in the trees outside our room. The chicken satay in the restaurant is the best I've had in Bali (and I've had a lot!).

Perfect location near the beach and the shops .. the property was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful too. Would definitely book again to stay there. The Deluxe room was very spacious and comfortable. The massage with Agun on the premises was excellent ! Thank you

Minimal water placed in rooms. However we received more water when we requested. We were not given clean hand towels daily.

As return customers we know we wanted to stay at Puri Cendana when we booked our tickets to Bali. We had such an amazing experience the last time we were here, we remembered a tranquil place in the business of Seminyak with a lovely simple but delicious restaurant. When we read about new ownership and renovations we were quite worried. Luckily most of our worries were not necessary. It is still a lovely place, the rooms remain unchanged, clean and peaceful. The renovations to the pool are actually nice and the staff remain absolutely amazing.

One of the main reasons for us to come back, was the kitchen. We were so looking forward to the simple and delicious Balinese food but sadly much of it has been replaced in favor of Western dishes. We also felt that the quality was lacking a bit while the prices had gone up. We understand our particular wishes might not be for everyone and that many people might enjoy the new Western approach. One more thing we enjoyed less was the music at the restaurant/pool area. It were the same 10 songs played over and over, not so nice when you're spending a day at the pool. The gamelan music in the morning was nice though!

Bed was quite hard but in saying that I don’t mind a firm bed. A simply mattress topper would solve the issue. Linen quite grey but nothing too concerning.

We loved the breakfast , the food was fresh , huge portions and had some gluten free options , the location was great and the unit we had was quiet and a large size . The staff were as helpful as can be .

The mattress was really hard so much by the third night we asked for a blanket to put on the mattress. We had a sewage smell in the bathroom , was unfortunate as the rooms looked like the bathroom was renovated recently. Also there are a large number of rooms but limited lounges around the pool .

The pool was lovely but not enough umbrellas.

The stairs to the bedroom were difficult. The bathroom was downstairs and badly in need of renovation. The towels were grey. The telephone didn’t work and the aircon was only upstairs

wij zijn hier al zeker 5 keer eerder geweest. De locatie is geweldig! en de kamers zijn erg groot. Nu een nieuwe eigenaar en een verbouwing van het restaurant. Het is net open en het restaurant is nu erg steriel en zo ook de tafels om te eten buiten hebben minder de gezelligheid die het had. De kwaliteit van het eten is nog steeds erg goed, het zwembad is vergroot en de kamers zijn mooi geworden. Voorheen was er meer groen om heen en sfeer lampen en een pooltafel voor de gezellige avonden. Dus als dat terug komt dan is het weer zeker een 10!

Puri Cendana is a pure delight. I’ve been coming here since 2009 and it’s my fav hotel in Bali and I’ve been to a lot! It’s pure bliss, spend three days here and leave completely chilled. Recent refurbishments to pool and restaurant are fantastic. Do not miss this hidden gem if you visit Seminyak. 5mins walk to beach, gorgeous gardens and all the staff, every single one, are simply wonderful.

The staff were lovely and friendly and I felt safe and comfortable. Room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable.

The restaurant staff were slow to respond, I had to ask three times for milk for my coffee.

Wij hadden de pech dat ze met verbouwen bezig waren waardoor er midden in de nacht (vanaf 3.00) tot in de ochtend bouwvakkers bezig waren. Toen we aan het eind van de vakantie terugkwamen liepen we toevallig weer langs het hotel en zagen we dat alles klaar was dus dat probleem zou opgelost moeten zijn

I was lucky to have received a recently renovated room. The room was spotless and very clean and the renovated bathroom was luxury. It was especially nice to have a bathroom with no mould and the new toilets. The pool area was lovely and relaxing and has been renovated beautifully.

The only suggestion I have would be to have a few more umbrellas distributed amongst the day beds. A lot of hotels now use the water cooler spring water dispensers for visitors to fill their water bottles, I think it would be great for Cendana to consider this concepts so people can refill bottles rather than getting a new plastic bottle each time they need water.

The best thing about Puri Cendana is Desa's massage! She is so good. I like the location as it is so close to the beach and the walkway.

Construction work at all hours.

The hotel was actually very close to the beach. The room is in a building but there are two floors inside, and we loved the Bali style design. Restaurant was great too! The staff is very nice and helpful.

Our room toilet didn’t flush well and water tasted little funny. It’s minor points though.

I only had an over night stay. It was nice.

I hadn't realised how much work was being done on the pool area, right in front of my room.

Most things went well. Rooms are large with tall ceilings; sunken bathrooms. Traditional style, but still had tv service with several English channels. Grounds are groomed and well taken care of. Some renovations going on, but noise was not an issue if you needed a nap. Cafe seemed newly renovated. Breakfast seems to come with bookings...excellent selection and food was consistently good. Kudos to breakfast staff who were unfailingly polite and efficient. The facilities are close to Sunset Beach and places to eat and shop are nearby. I am a tough customer when it comes to ratings, and I really have no substantial negatives. Most staff speak good English, EVERYONE as polite.

We did seem to have some miscommunication on airport pick up. I was able to make connections once I landed and someone was dispatched directly. After flying 27 hours a friendly face is highly valued. One note if you have multiple phones or electronic devices there are limited plugs near the bed. Personally not an issue for me, but I know for some travelers that might be an issue.

The location is great . It’s close to the beach and is in the quieter part of Seminyak. The pool is great and the setting is beautiful. The staff are just beautiful, helpful, happy and attentive.the breakfast is amazing and the restaurant has yummy food.

Nous connaissons très bien cet établissement et y avons séjourné à plusieurs reprises, aussi bien en famille avec nos enfants qu’en couple. L’emplacement est idéal, à proximité de la mer et du centre-ville. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. Cependant, cette fois-ci, notre séjour a été moins agréable. Nous sommes arrivés en pleine période de travaux et Booking nous en a informés trop tard, alors que nous étions déjà à l’hôtel. La piscine était inaccessible, le petit-déjeuner était servi en chambre et il y avait beaucoup de bruit du matin au soir en raison du chantier. Avec les fortes chaleurs, l’absence de piscine a été particulièrement regrettable, surtout lorsque l’on passe du temps à l’hôtel. Le bruit permanent a également nui à notre confort. Avec le recul, nous aurions peut-être dû appeler l’établissement avant notre arrivée pour nous renseigner sur la situation. Malgré cette expérience décevante, nous gardons une très bonne opinion de cet hôtel. Nous sommes convaincus qu’une fois les travaux terminés, il retrouvera tout son charme et la qualité de séjour que nous avons toujours appréciés lors de nos précédentes visites.

It was very close to the beach. The place was nice overall.

The shower wasn’t very powerful at all and was faulty. The AC didn’t cool down the room fully so I was hot at night. The pool was under renovation. I didn’t read the tiny small print.

Location is very convenient. One side to the beach the other side to the shops. It’s quiet here and felt very safe as a solo woman traveller.

I Wasn’t notified that they are doing a big renovation so that there is no recreational area no dining area and no pool.They can improve to replace glasses and cups . Have small face wash towels . Provide large bottles of water /or supply more smaller bottles.

Great location easy walk to the beach, restaurants and bars. Lovely Balinese style architecture in a harden setting. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is in the restaurant - basically order from the menu - the food is very good - and worth having dinner there as well!

The bathrooms are slightly older style but fitting with the architecture and in good condition.
