Everything was great, the high floor room, variety for breakfast, location, facilities, pool, sauna! Highly recommended

One small suggestion, would be more welcoming if the reception staff be warmer and make you feel comfortable, rather than being with the activated arrogant mode! Rather than that, everything was fantastic

The hotel is a short walk to the Mixc mall, and to the May 4th Square. The hotel is also part of the daily downtown light show. The room was clean, comfortable and elegant with marble (or looked like) floors...The bathroom was huge and I think the floors were heated. It had the elegant touches like slippers, bathrobes and powered curtain. Breakfast was excellent and covered everything you are used to - Western, Chinese, Continental. etc. On a wet day, we visited the Qingdao Beer Museum which was well work it. For 100RMB you can visit the museum, get two taste samples and take home three more beers!...and it's a 20 minute ride from the hotel.

I love my stay in The Westin Qingdao, great location close to public transport and shopping centre, easy walk to the seaside. I lost my stuff behind and checked out this morning, Lily from the customer service called me and arrange post of my bracelet to me.

I personally think the hotel accommodation rate is of good value for the money I paid. There’s nothing I dislike so far.

The room was spotless and well-appointed, the staff was attentive and welcoming, and the amenities made my stay both relaxing and convenient. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere and comfortable bed—perfect for a restful night after a long day.

I had a wonderful stay at The Westin Qingdao. The location is excellent. The hotel is right next to May Fourth Square and MixC Qingdao (Wanxiangcheng), so it was very convenient to walk around, shop, or find restaurants nearby. Even though I am a Marriott Gold member, the hotel kindly upgraded me to a larger room. I also received a room with a view overlooking the iconic sculpture at May Fourth Square, which made the stay even more memorable. The room itself was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The breakfast was outstanding. honestly one of the best hotel breakfasts I have experienced. There was a wide variety of food, the quality was excellent, and everything tasted great. I was also given complimentary lounge access, which allowed me to enjoy afternoon tea during my stay. It was a very nice addition and made the overall experience even better. Another convenient aspect was how easy it was to receive deliveries. Food delivery arrived quickly, and the hotel staff were also helpful in receiving packages. Overall, this hotel offers great quality and value. I would like to thank the staff for their warm hospitality and excellent service.

BACKGROUND: I specifically upgraded to the Executive Floor for our wedding anniversary celebration based on your website's assurance that: 1. Rooms on the executive floor were newly renovated 2. Executive Lounge access with premium amenities would be provided 3. This would meet Westin brand standards for a special occasion The reality fell drastically short of these promises and Marriott Bonvoy standards. CRITICAL SERVICE FAILURES: 1. MISREPRESENTATION OF ROOM CONDITION I was explicitly told the Executive Floor rooms were "newly renovated." The room I received was extremely outdated and in no way reflected the renovation status promised during the upsell. 2. EXECUTIVE LOUNGE - UNACCEPTABLE STANDARDS No breakfast service: The lounge opened at 12pm, unlike standard executive lounges across Marriott properties which serve breakfast Inadequate supplies: The lounge ran out of wine glasses. When I attempted to use a champagne flute instead, it was visibly cracked, forcing me to drink red wine from a paper cup This is completely unacceptable for a property charging premium rates for executive floor access 3. FOOD QUALITY & SAFETY CONCERNS Breakfast area: Extremely disorganized and overcrowded, resembling "a zoo" rather than a premium hotel dining experience Cross-contamination risk: Same tongs were used for both raw and cooked items - a serious food safety violation Temperature control failure: Most items were not properly heated Overall quality: Food quality was significantly below Westin standards Room service failure: Club sandwich delivered on Jan 3rd was completely unacceptable [Photo attached] 4. FACILITY INFORMATION FAILURES Unable to locate the Westin Heavenly Spa despite multiple inquiries Gym staff provided incorrect directions Lack of proper signage and staff knowledge of basic hotel facilities 5. STAFFING & COMMUNICATION DEFICIENCIES Severe lack of English-speaking staff for an international luxury brand Management was notably absent and unavailable throughout our stay Unable to escalate concerns in real-time due to language barriers and management accessibility

Huge room for a very affordable and reasonable price with impeccable location, right next to subway exit E and walking distance to huge shopping mall. Food delivery can be sent directly to your room by robot with a phone call to the front desk. Amenities were refilled each day including bath salt and bottled waters as well. Bed is gigantic and comfortable.

The water pressure for shower is very weak. Hotel phone inside the room is confusing and difficult to use, had to use the phone on the office desk instead.

mi się nie podobało? Niestety – praktycznie wszystko. Już od wejścia do hotelu napotkaliśmy ogromne problemy komunikacyjne z recepcją. Przyjechaliśmy bardzo późno (około 22:50), po długiej i męczącej podróży, chcąc szybko się zameldować i coś zjeść. Sama procedura meldunku trwała około 40 minut, ponieważ recepcja kompletnie nie potrafiła się z nami porozumieć. Chcieliśmy jedynie dodać jeszcze jedną dodatkową noc i to okazało się wielkim problemem. Co gorsza, naliczono nam depozyt w wysokości około 4000 zł, o którym nie było absolutnie żadnej informacji w żadnym momencie rezerwacji. Było to bardzo nieprzyjemne zaskoczenie, bo nie byliśmy na to przygotowani. Do dziś depozyt nie został zwrócony. Poprosiliśmy również o doliczenie śniadań na oba dni i zapłaciliśmy za nie od razu – pani kilkukrotnie potwierdziła, że wszystko jest w porządku. Rano okazało się jednak, że śniadania nie zostały odnotowane i musieliśmy zapłacić za nie drugi raz przy wejściu na restaurację. I żeby to jeszcze trwało chwilę.. około 20 minut ponieważ Pani nie potrafiła zrozumieć logicznie że chcemy zapłacić od razu za 3 osoby jedna płatnością tylko nabijają wszystko osobno! Po zameldowaniu, tak późnym wieczorem, hotel nie był w stanie zaoferować nam nawet kromki chleba czy jakiejkolwiek drobnej przekąski. Nie zaoferowano również pomocy w znalezieniu czegokolwiek do jedzenia w okolicy. Tylko dzięki uprzejmości młodego pracownika, którego spotkaliśmy na dole (nie na recepcji!), udało nam się zjeść – przez translator zamówił nam pierożki na swoje konto, a my oddaliśmy mu gotówkę. Jedyna osoba, która okazała serce i profesjonalizm. Problemy nie skończyły się następnego dnia. Wieczorem chcieliśmy skorzystać z basenu – okazało się, że nie możemy wejść, bo… nie mamy czepków. W żadnym hotelu podczas tej podróży nie było to wymagane. Po dłuższym zamieszaniu pani w końcu zrozumiała, że może nam je sprzedać.

A great location with a short walk to some good sights to see nearby and easy access to the metro to get you further afield in and around Qingdao. An excellent standard of accommodation with comfortable bed spacious rooms and fully equipped bathroom. Morning coffee (Starbucks) attached to the hotel, which was perfect for our mornings.

I stayed here with my family (2 grandparents, 2 young kids - 3 y/o & 4 y/o, and 2 parents) in two junior suite rooms over 4 days / 3 nights. We enjoyed our stay overall as the hotel rooms and views are generally very nice with its location atop a subway station (although we never took the subway because we had so many family members) and across the street for the giant MIXC mall. We paid for the breakfast to be included, and stopped by every morning, with a decent selection of Chinese and western food selection. The beds were nice. The bathroom and tub were very good quality. And the junior suite layout was extremely helpful with having younger kids and multiple needs of bathrooms, water, and reading breaks. The hotel pool and gym are both good quality. We booked through the Marriott Bonvoy app, and the pricing was competitive, but that central part of Qingdao is pricey, and we wanted to stay near/close to all of the local attractions. Our only complaint was not having our rooms ready after a long day of traveling and arriving at the hotel at 3:30. We had to complain before rooms on a different floor (but the same size) were re-assigned to us. I with we didn’t have to complain to get rooms assigned to us, so definitely something the hotel can work on to improve on going forward. Otherwise, we had a great stay.

Excellent hotel, very good rooms and absolutely great breakfast. Location is perfect, as you are 10 minutes away from the bustling waterfront, with myriads of the various spots of entertainment and food. And at night hotel is amazingly lit!

Overall, the hotel is decent. The room is spacious, and the location is fantastic for enjoying the beach and nearby restaurants. However, their customer service leaves much to be desired. When I checked in, the receptionist assigned me a room without mentioning the view outside the window, which was cluttered with equipment and looked quite messy. I asked to change to a different room. Additionally, it was my birthday that day, but no one acknowledged it, not even at the reception desk during check-in. As someone experienced in the hotel industry, I believe that a good management system should include a “reminder” for guests’ birthdays. Don't you think that would be a nice touch?

Beautiful hotel in the heart of qingdao, awesome breakfast

There are too many issues with this hotel to address, so I will do my best to keep it short. Definitely the worst Westin property I have ever stayed in, out of 5+ ones in the past. I stayed at room 1907, Jr. suite over the past 3 nights. We arrived to the hotel at 3:20pm to check-in, and the guy behind the reception desk (Abel Hou) told us the room wasn't ready yet. Aside from the lack of any mannerism (not even a "hello" or "你好"), he had no solution for us either, hoping we could read his mind that we could wait longer. Female supervisor came over to address the problem, and says there is another room ready of the same tier and floor, just that it hasn't been signed off and inspected by a manager yet after housekeeping. I said no problem, if there are any issues I will let them know later. And my god were there many issues. Which was expected, but reason why I'm writing this review is because every issue during our 3 night stay at this hotel requires asking and informing them 2-4 times in order for them to address or solve the issue. And everything was done half-assed. - Conditioner bottle was completely empty, had to ask 2 times on the phone - The carpet wasn't vacuumed properly, had many food crumbs and sand. After the 1st time I asked them to vacuum, the floor was still dirty, and had to ask again for the corners to be vacuumed. - The bathroom stall had construction metal shavings all over the bottom of the door. I asked for it to be cleaned. Again, there was an attempt, but still not cleaned properly. - Bathroom shower water wasn't warm enough, max was 25-28C. I asked the first day to send a repairman upstairs to fix it, or have a room change. No follow-up, returned to room at night, water still not warm. I asked again the next day, they said they will send someone up again-- and then hours later, no results. Finally, I asked for the 3rd time to either fix it or change rooms, they finally found a repairman that can fix it, and the water was at normal shower temperature and can reach 45C+. However, on the 3rd day, the water wasn't warm enough again. - Had to ask for additional box of tissues 3 times to get extra tissues. On top of these issues, this Westin hotel does not have a concierge counter/service! There's the universal concierge symbol on the desk on ground floor, but they're just bagmen's. We asked 3 different staffs behind the concierge desk, our touristy Qingdao questions were often met with "search on Baidu yourself on phone", or "not sure", or "I think so". We didn't even ask them to book tours or reservations for us, we just asked for basic info like how to get to certain tourist sites. [And if you ask the reception desks on 5th floor, they will refer you back down to G floor concierge desk]. Room service food was atrocious, but can't complain too much due to the below average hotel room service pricing. Ordered the beef noodle soup to be safe, but the broth turns out to be completely watered down, noodles super overcooked, minimal amount of dried out beef pieces, and more noodles than soup. Cup noodle would've been a better option. Finally, almost all the employees just seem miserable working here. On the day of our check out, we handed our keys back and told the staff our room number. The total bill was printed out and loosely shoved in an envelope without any explanation. No eye contact, no "did you enjoy your stay with us", or "hope you had a great stay", and not even a goodbye.

This hotel is a very good hotel with great service and great staff. Check in and check out was a breeze. The bed was comfortable the rooms are large the shower was ok not great and the hotel is starting to show signs of wear and tear. The selection of fresh fruits and vegetables at breakfast and happy hour needs to be improved.

Layout of room was fantastic. Bathroom in particular great.

Wind noise perhaps a bit worse than very new buildings.

The location was exceptional, the staff were very helpful.

The facilities, hot water was barely hot, but the room itself due to lack of ventilation is very hot and stuffed. The control of the lighting was very clunky.

Next to a big shopping mall. Lots of good restaurants to choose from. Excellent service and hospitality!

I had issues with cooling and had to move suites, but the issue was resolved. Otherwise, everything else was great.

대체적으로 다 좋았고, 매리어트 계열의 특유의 느낌이 있습니다. 조식 및 해피아워 음식은 입에 썩 맞지는 않네요. 이 부분은 중국 내 공통이라서 어쩔 수 없는 것 같고요. 호텔 근처 물가가 저렴하지는 않습니다. 공항에서 약 50분 정도 걸리는 것 같아요.

Because I was staying for only 2D1N, I was really unable to fully enjoy all that The Westin has to offer but I will be back again for that! ❤

Clean, classy and good service

Westin Qingdao is well located in the city, easy to get into subway and a very new & modern shopping center, but unfortunately this hotel is poorly maintained and managed. We got upgraded to top floor corner suite with beautiful view of the city but facility was not well maintained. One sink was broken without replaced (see photo). During our 4 nights stay, we encountered twice of no water supply WITHOUT notice. We did complain after the first time stoppage. The duty manager did apologize and sent fruit basket plus 5000 hotel points to us which I told her not to do this but well maintained their facilities so we could enjoy it next time. The last day we stayed, the water stoppage again due to their maintenance work and no notice or call. Besides this single water stoppage, the gym was managed like a child care center and barefoot playground (see photos), the staff worked there also wearing slippers not sport shoes. I would not recommend any tourist or business travelers to try this hotel especially with my experience. This Westin should be classified as 3-4 stars instead of 5 and this would hurt the brand of Westin and Marriott group.

Cleanliness is an issue… Although well arranged, the room was not very clean (cotton stick and shirt button found on the floor when we arrived). Besides, the changing rooms in the swimming pool / gym were quite dirty, people had washed / forgot multiple clothes inside. Not sure if I have been unlucky this day, but definitely not the highest standards in terms of cleanliness…

Very beautiful place to stay - next to seaside, close to the impressive led show on near buildings. Very comfortable apartment with a living room, bedroom, toilet and bathrooom - perfect if you have visitors during stay, to enjoy a tea and talk. Also close to the market with lot of restaurants. Very good breakfast in hote. Different kind of food, also live cooking. Highly recommended
