Hotel J Negombo

The Hotel has everything that We needed, hot and strong shower, aircondition, Beach, pool, roof top Restaurant, shops and restaurants on the same Street. It is a 3 Star Hotel, dont expect luxurious rooms but they have everything. It was a perfect stay for our last days in Sri Lanka.

Food, the lunch was terrible. You would get better food elsewhere. Not fresh. Everywhere crows who litterly take your food. We had to take breakfast package of earlier flight but we do not recommend food here. They whole hotel can use un update on paint.

Zwembad met mooi zicht op de zee. Rooftopbar waar je ook iets kan eten is zeer lekker en erg gezellig. De kamers waren erg proper.

Het ontbijt kon beter al was het lekker. Het werd aan tafel gebracht, maar duurde vrij lang voordat je het kreeg. En de koffie werd pas helemaal op het einde gebracht.

Excellent roof top bar with lovely staff, great views and tasty drinks. Breakfast was good.

The bed only has one pillow which made it hard to sleep and the air con unit was noisy.

Prima overnachtingshotel redelijk dicht bij het vliegveld. Tevens een zwembad en ligstoelen in de tuin. Vlak bij het strand gelegen. Personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Het strand is wat rommelig, verder was er het nodige lawaai van een bruiloftsfeest in een nabijgelegen hotel. De kamer was redelijk basic, we hadden één kamer zonder ramen (geen daglicht).

The room was dirty, blood on the pillows, greasy floors!

Friendly people on the hotel. Always ready to help. During our trip we stayed the first and the last 2 days at the hotel. We forgot our adapter after the the first 2 days. We asked them to keep it until we come back and they did it. Also on the last day, our flight was delayed and we had to spend more hours at the hotel and again they helped us to make it as comfortable as possible. The swimmeng pool is very clean. The food is good and the chambers are ok.

Nice Hotel with a good location in the main stretch of Negombo Rooms were of the right size and the sea view rooms had a great view from a large balcony. Good Food too at the hotel and warm service from all the staff. Special Mention to Roger from the restaurant for his impeccable service and Leoni from the Front Desk.

Kalana was very helpful and friendly when taking my food order and recommending the most popular beer in Sri Lanka as it is my first day here. Excellent customer service and made me feel welcome as a solo traveller!

Außenanlagen und Pool waren toll und laden zum verweilen ein. Hotelpersonal super freundlich.

Die Bilder sind leider sehr veraltet. Stattdessen war das Zimmer sehr schimmelig. Aus dem Abfluss hat es extrem gestunken und gebrodelt. Wir hatten ein Basiczimmer ohne Balkon oder richtiges Fenster vielleicht ist es in anderen Zimmern angenehmer. Das Basiczimmer jedoch ist nicht zu empfehlen.

Excellent rapport qualité prix. Chambre climatisée. Belle piscine et très bel emplacement. Restaurants à proximité.

Negombo is a lovely first day in Sri Lanka to get your bearings. Hotel J was a great place to start. It’s a three-star hotel that is clean and well organised. (It was a holiday weekend and we did get woken by other guests playing music at 4am - but the staff were onto it quickly). It’s right on the beach and cheaper than some of the bigger hotels just up the road. Feels more like a locals stay. Was a great place. Another lovely point - it was my partner’s birthday on the day we arrived (I’d let them know ahead of time). And the presented us with a lovely birthday cake on arrival - complete with personalised birthday greeting. A lovely touch.

Comfortable accommodation right on the beach with a relaxing pool area. Only a 30 minute ride from the airport. The sheets and bedding were very clean and room comfortable. It had AC and fans which helped cool down a bit (not the most powerful AC but did help). Delicious good sized breakfast. The service in the restaurant was excellent. Kalana, one of the servers, was very attentive and kind. Appreciated this landing spot upon arrival in Sri Lanka.

Beautiful budget space for a family getaway. Staffs were all friendly, attentive and welcoming. Food was excellent with beautiful flavours. Beach in front was nicer as well.

Hotel J was Value for money. Comfy rooms and a good location (right in front of the beach) made my day. And also a very good breakfast the next day. I got Milk Rice, Sandwiches, Coffee, and Juice. Will come again.

The staff made me feel so welcome and nothing was too much - even accommodating my dietary requirements as much as possible. They really helped make my travel easy and comfortable. The pool area is lovely and relaxing, and it’s ideal for the airport or as place to stay before onward travel :) there’s also a rooftop bar for sunset!

Some rooms need some TLC but they’re clean and great value :)

Really very welcoming, friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel has simple clean rooms with all amenities like A/C and wifi in good condition. The rooftop bar is the best for chilling out with a cold beer or variety of sundowner beverages. Highly recommended!

Amazing place. Lovely right on the seafront and my favourite place so far in Negombo. Lovely room as a very seasonable price. Excellent service, always checking evening is ok and making sure my stay was comfortable. Big thanks to Kalana who went above and beyond, excellent chap.

Perfect location just off beach road Very friendly helpful staff who cant do enough for you. During our overstay there due to conflict in middle east the hotel manager Mr Vimukrhi let us stay for an extra week with no rush for us to leave .His support and care was exceptional throughout. Staff members Roger , Nissansala and Lionei (whose Father Roy also offers a great TukTuk service nearby )also contributed to our amazing stay here .Rooms were spacious clean with a large balcony and a sea view. Tea making facilities and a TV included. This hotel provides a swimming pool with cushioned sunbeds a stones throwaway from the beach where you will find plenty of beach bars and restaurants. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis . The food here at the hotel was excellent and very good value . I would recommend this hotel over and over again . I will definitely return has it offers great service at such a good affordable price . The Sri Lankan people are the most friendliest ive ever met .

We recently returned from 2 weeks staying at Hotel J Negombo as part of a TUI package holiday and found it a great place to stay. The breakfast was excellent, particularly the traditional Sri Lankan option, available as vegetarian, and all members of staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Direct access to the beach was ideal for pre breakfast strolls and also a trip on a traditional catamaran. Having a water cooler on each floor meant we didn’t have to buy any plastic bottles. We paid a little extra for a sea view room which is really worth it, we frequently had picnic lunches on the balcony while taking in the view which was also great at sunset. One of the hotel managers put us in touch with a local driver who took us to Dambulla and Anuradhapura stopping en route for king coconut drinks and local baked goods. The hotel provided us with packed breakfast for early morning departures. There were lots of places to eat in the evenings nearby too, so all in all we had a fabulous couple of weeks. Don’t miss Negombo Sunday market while you’re there, great for fruit and shirts!

Very nice hotel. The breakfast was good. WiFi and AC worked really well. We recomment this hotel. They offer water from a big tank. The boss was very nice and helpful.

They didn't clean all the rooms everyday. Staff was friendly but a bit slow on some things. For example my door didn't get locked and they fixed it a bit slowly.

Overall a really lovely hotel with friendly and attentive staff. The location is perfect in the sense that on one end of the hotel you have the beach and on the other you have the town centre full of shops and restaurants. Our room had a cozy atmosphere. We had a few little flies and mosquitoes flying around in our room but not a problem as we'd brought bug repellent with us and we understand they're difficult to keep away from hotel rooms. The breakfast was amazing with lots of variety to choose from. It has a good pool area which we made the most of too!

Schönes Hotel mit toller Lage direkt am Strand von Negombo. Saubere Zimmer und gutes Frühstück. Lediglich der Service war langsam, wenn auch höflich und bemüht. Oben auf dem Hotel ist eine Rooftop Bar mit schönem Ausblick, besonders bei Sonnenuntergang.

Nähe zu Flughafen, Rooftop-Terrasse, sehr nettes Personal

Zimmer mit Meerblick: Tag und Nacht lief ein extrem lauter Generator vom Nachbarhotel. Alle anderen Zimmer hatten grausame Ausblicke auf Seitenstraße oder auf hässlichen Bau des Nachbarhotels. Nachts liefen Kakalaken im Treppenhaus herzm.

I stayed here at the start and end of an organised tour of Sri Lanka and both times were great. It was inexpensive, the rooms ideal for a bed and washroom, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the location is great with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The pool area is great to chill out, the food and drink options are a decent quality. Id recommend for a few nights of staying in Negomba.

Cozy and reasonably sized hotel on the beach. Good location considering the services in Negombo. Short drive to the airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was good and the views, service and staff from the rooftop bar were great.

It was the perfect place to recover after a long flight.

Pool- so cloudy could not see bottom and would not let our kids swim in it, very disappointing things needed fixed- safety box, tv, shampoo dispenser, ceiling fan, lights burned out, etc…

The location is right next to the beach. The eating area is also quite nice with a pool nearby.

The room wasn't modern. It had mosquitos and bedsheets were thin. Facilities were what you'd expect from a 3 star hotel on a budget.
