Ardagh House

Good location near bus stop direct to center city. Great breakfast to start the day and helpful staff ready to help with whatever needs you may have.

Good but a bit pricey

Recomendable, muy agradable la estancia y el personal muy simpático.

This was a very good choice for a less-expensive place to stay without compromising on quality. The proprietor is a very hard working woman and deserves to do well

A nice quite area that is a short distance from the city center. Rooms are abit small but it’s ok for solo traveler. Breakfast was quite good and the staff were very friendly.

Victorian property that has a homy bed and breakfast feel in an historic building. Nice friednly staff and beautiful gardens and grounds.

Lovely clean rooms & very helpful staff. Gray location too. Will stay there again.

nice place .. my room was a bit small but overall this is a good place to stay and the owners are very nice

A homely welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was great. A lovely house although Decor a little tired and dated but beds comfy, everything else made up for it.

I was very disappointed. The reviews said superb, there was absolutely nothing superb about this place. We had a late check in time. I phoned ahead to tell them. Our room was basically in the attic. If you are a heavy packer beware! I had to huff it up 4 flights of stairs with my bag. Inside our poorly decorated room it was another 8 stairs up to our bathroom, not convenient at night. You had to pull a string over the sink in the bathroom to take a shower. After you flushed the toilet it trickled to refill. It was a $40 cab ride from the airport. It was a $20 cab ride from Temple Bar. It was located very far from anything. Hope others appreciate my brutal honesty.

Great location, ample parking, William and Mary were great hosts, very helpful. Quick cab or bus ride to center city Dublin. We would definitely return.

We picked Ardaugh House as it was close to our son who was at UCD. It was a great location.

Made to order breakfast. Internet spotty. Quiet location. On bus line.

Only a one night stop and arrived late due to chaos and misrepresentation from car hire company at airport. However, Ardagh house welcomed us. Next morning at breakfast, the service and warmth of the staff was excellent. The food choice was also excellent.

The location allowed us to walk into town. Our host, John, was able to repair my glasses when a screw was lost. His kindness was truly appreciated. Our room had a lovely view of the back garden.

Staff and owners were friedly and very accomodating.

Clean, great staff, comfortable bed. Single occupancy room was tiny, but that's Europe. Not close to anything, but there is a bus stop right there to town. They should improve the upstairs wifi, (in main sitting room it's great) though they state in description that it's not reliable. Still, a small investment can improve it. Overall a good stay.

Nice, quiet neighbourhood but far from attractions, although very easy bus service. Room small but adequate except could not get internet there-had to go down to the lounge room for wifi.

Beautiful hotel, excellent service, right by bus line to city centre, and so quiet and comfortable.

The hotel staff was very courteous and friendly. They went out of their way to make my family's stay a pleasant experience. The room accommodation was utilitarian but very quiet and relaxing. I heartily endorse the Ardagh House and give it two thumbs up.

MARY AND WILLIE ARE FANTASTIC! HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND MAKE SURE YOU GET THE BREAKFAST!!

My booking was not correct on their computer system however, the owners agreed to reduce the agreed contract price as they could not provide the correct accommodation booked. The hotel was ok and their breakfasts very good.

Great place. Really old place and you could hear peolle in oyher room but i would stay there again!

Our stay was wonderful! Mary & Bill were so helpful! Nothing was too much trouble ... even provided my finance with peanut butter ! Made us feel at home ;)

Lovely stay, very clean, comfortable and friendly. The breakfast was perfect with loads of choices, with good quality fresh products.

Used this hotel for a one night stay, visiting family in Dublin. It is conveniently placed for all the usual sights in Dublin. The staff were very friendly, and service was good. The room was comfortable, although some of the fixtures may need updating. I would use it again.

Very warm and friendly place to stay, great food and accomadations. Waking distance to town with many businesses to check out. Nice variety of places to eat and even a Starbucks!

We enjoyed our stay from the first minute until our check out! We felt like members of the owner´s family!

Nice and quiet, comfy room, great little neighborhood, bus stops less than a block away that take you to city centre... great breakfast :)

Very nice stay! Nice room with a good breakfast. The only mildly downside was the wifi kept cutting in/out quite a bit. Workable just irritating. Other than that, it was a very nice place to stay

We arrived exhausted and very late after our 30 hour journey from Australia and the staff at Ardagh House ensured that someone was there to greet us and settle us in. Breakfast was plentiful and filled us up for a day of touring. We enjoyed our days there, many thanks.

You will never meet nicer more civilised people than Mary and Willie. They really make you feel at home; nothing is too much trouble.

A nice B & B but the decor and rooms are dated. A 20 min bus ride from the heart of Dublin. For a bit more money, you can get a place closer to town. Staff was pleasant and breakfast was very good.

We went over to Ireland for a wedding. The hotel was really lovely and the owners were very pleasant. The only problem was that it was quite a way to walk from Dublin centre. The breakfast was lovely apart from the bacon.

Beautiful old home nicely situated in Dublin. The owners and staff could not have been nicer.

I recently stayed here with four other friends. I booked this place for all of us after a lot of research. I wanted my friends to have a true 'Irish' hospitality experience. We were not at all disappointed! The owners Mary and Will were outstanding hosts! They were very helpful with area knowledge, and made us feel very welcome. It was a pleasure interacting with them and their staff every day! Breakfast was excellent, and the rooms were comfortable (We had a triple twin room, and my other two friends had a single room.). Housekeeping did an exemplary job of keeping the rooms fresh, clean, and restocked (supplies, etc) everyday. Located in the southern suburb of Rathgar just outside of the town center, the Ardagh House's location is excellent. Links to both the city center (and the connecting airport link) was a 2 minute walk away. Even if you missed the last bus, a walk from downtown Dublin to the hotel was about 35-40 minutes depending on where you were--doable and not bad at all!! I would definitely stay here again, and look forward to reconnecting with the gracious hosts and staff at the Ardagh House. --J. Medeiros

I absolutely adore Ardagh House. This is the second time I've stayed, as I have a child at Trinity College and their dorm is across the street. Mary could not be lovelier and is warm, funny and welcoming. The atmosphere is charming and cozy; the breakfast is fresh and fulfilling and the views of the garden are beautiful. I would recommend Ardagh House to anyone who is traveling lightly (there is no lift) and does not mind the 20 minute commute into Dublin city central. The LUAS tram is marvelous.

my stat at ardagh house was great, Ms Mary was the best, she took care of me like I was her own child. the area is very nice and the place was very clean, friendly staff and very secure place..

Very professional, personable and unfussy. professional, personable and unfussy.professional, personable and unfussy.professional, personable and unfussy.

Convenient, clean, friendly, Comfortable stay. In our room the TV or the WYFY did not work.

The property itself was fine. The breakfast was dreadful. Ireland's guest houses are renowned for the traditional Irish breakfast and our kids generally can't get enough - not here. However the main problem we had was with the manager whose first utterance to me was to complain because I was holding open the self locking door to allow my family with our bags into the property. She then complained that we checked in too late - when did 5pm become a late check in? She also complained that my details weren't transferred from hotels.com to her system and somehow this was my fault. We have come to expect friendly welcomes from Irish guest houses - all interactions with this manager were anything but. She is the main reason that I would not recommend this property.

The Kilmainham Gaol (Jail) was our favorite activity, even above the Book of Kells, walking along Grafton Street, the Temple Bar area and along the Liffey River. The most fun however was saying yes to the young couple who insisted on taking our group of 6 older (60+) ladies to the local pub, which was celebrating the "football" game that had just finished. What an adventure!

Great stay at this B&B around the corner from Trinity Hall in the Rathmines area. Warm welcome, comfy and quiet room, great made to order breakfast, lovely garden and breakfast room. Off street parking in their own lot. Used by a variety of guests including solo business travelers, couples, and families.

We had a wonderful stay at Ardagh House. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic! We loved the Victorian style and the convenient access to Dublin city center using the buses.

Lovely neighborhood, warm hosts, convenient bus to Town center.

Guest house is a little ways out of the city but the number 140 bus solves that problem if you don't have a car. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the cooked to order breakfast is superb. Building is an older one, I would guess Victorian and some of the fittings were in keeping with that, but to me it aded to the charm of the place. Would certainly stay again.

Brilliant Breackfast, with great Bacon and Soda Bread! Internet very poor in room but very fast in large comfortable lounge. Owners lovely and very accommodating.

Far enough from city center that parking is free but close enough to walk in for the hearty or a 5 minute cab ride. The hosts were kind and accommodating of our early departure. We were very comfortable there. Delicious made to order breakfasts. Definitely would return.

Location was good relative to city center. Conveniently close to a bus stop but be aware that bus wait times are longer at night. Room was nice and cozy with normal amenities. Breakfast is included. It was wonderful since they have a selection from a small menu and they cook it right there. Mary is the main hostess and she is very efficient. She worked with our schedule to provide breakfast earlier or pack something to bring along when we needed to leave before breakfast hours. She also worked with us in other ways that would take too long to explain. I highly recommend Ardagh house.

Friendly family run hotel. Lots of repeat customers. Clean and comfortable room. Free parking. Free internet. Great breakfast.

All very nice in a quiet location near a bus stop into town. Breakfast was nice, and the setting was beautiful. But you had to go to the sitting room to get Wifi.

We are big walkers so we liked walking to city center (a couple of miles but bus is easy). There are shops and restaurants a few blocks away so even though the neihhborhood in Rathmines is more residential and quiet, we loved it. It was peaceful and lovely and the proprietors were amazingly helpful. We would recommend it and would love to return. We also enjoyed the breakfast. Rooms are smaller but it is a Victorian style townhome so expected :)

In Dublin working at Trinity College, I was blessed to find such a reliable and cozy B&B on the bus lines (bus 140 took me right to Trinity). The people there are charming and kind, and the place is simple and inviting. I'll definitely come here again.

The room was dated but well maintained and the staff were very helpful.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Ardagh House. The staff were great and were keen to ensure I had everything I needed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Rugby international

Great breakfast and a warm welcome, staff and owners were friendly. The only down point was the WiFi, weak.

Family trip to Ireland - so Armagh House was a great Dublin base - car parking, breakfast and close to shops and buses. The Family room we had easily slept the 4 of us - each in our own bed. The kids (who can be fussy eaters) had no issues with the breakfast selection. Friendly staff who help with ideas on how to maximise our time.

The property is luxurious and well preserved. Willie and Mary were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfasts were superb. Something to note-there are a lot of stairs, upto three flights so pack lightly! Would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our say at Ardagh House. The rooms were spacious and lovely. A great quiet neighborhood. Our hosts were charming. They went out of their way to help us with directions, car issues and restaurants. The breakfast was very good. I'd like to add that their Internet connection was excellent! We had a less than great experience at our hotel in London and were so happy Ardagh House's Internet had no glitches/problems. Would definitely stay there again if we're back in Dublin.

We stayed here for one night while traveling to Dublin. This was very easy to find. Free parking on site. This was the only room I could find that could accommodate 4 adults for a reasonable price. A full, hot breakfast was included in the price for all of us and was really delicious. Mary, our hostess, was very nice and very accommodating, providing us with an electric outlet converter and recommending a restaurant for dinner. Night life is a safe 5-7 min walk away. Lots of restaurants, pubs and a grocery store. The house itself is lovely with a big garden out back. The room was nice, only in need of a little update or repair (the sofa in the room was a little worse for wear, there were cracks in the ceiling) but overall a very nice experience.

The hotel is charming, in a very nice neighborhood. The proprietors are lovely and very helpful.

My boyfriend and I stayed at ardagh house for 2 nights for a concert. The room was spotless and very comfortable, the staff were very friendly, always ready for a chat. The bus stop is right around the corner so it was convenient for us to get into town and we could come and go as we pleased. Breakfast was cooked to order and was absolutely delicious. Overall I havnt a bad word to say about this b and b, we'll definitely stay again :-)

We couldn't fault the room or the service. The room wasn't massive but it was clean and no smaller than we expected for the price. The breakfast was lovely and certainly set us up for our day exploring Dublin, after being offered more tea and toast countless times. It is not the closest place to the city centre but it is on a direct bus route. Nothing was too much trouble for Willie and Mary they even printed my boarding passes and arranged the taxi to the airport for a fixed price. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Dublin.

Nice place to stay, especially if you have a car. Plenty of parking, a bit off the beaten path from downtown. Staff is very pleasant, rooms are clean and well maintained. I would stay again.

Lovely little bnb with very comfortable and cosy rooms and beds. Highly recommend, although it is a little out of the city centre so you have to get the bus in. Would stay again!

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Dublin. This house is located outside the center of Dublin in a quiet neighborhood at the end of a bus route. It is a lovely old house with a sizable garden. Breakfast was made to order.

Great hotel and staff were excellent, cannot give full marks as bathroom was basic small shower and a tv from the 90's. But to compensate really helpful staff and excellent breakfast.

Ok pretty basic

Enjoyed a brief stay in May. Owners very helpful and friendly. Will stay again. Enjoyed a view of the gardens next time I hope to sit and enjoy the space.

Very nice old house, with hospitable and helpfull staff. Good position in the city, 10 min. walk to the luas station.

Nice accommodations with phenomenal innkeeper. Great value.

Had a wonderful experience at this delightful Bed & Breakfast. Bus stop right outside the door, so getting to the city center was very convenient. Hosts were very accommodating and full breakfast in the morning was a plus. Wonderful little Bistro just down the street for dinner, Cafe 161 Bistro.

We stay 2 nights with friends, it's a bit far from the city Center, but the bus stop is just cross the road. The staff is very helpful, the hotel is clean and comfy and the breakfast is amazing. I would recommend this place to everyone!!

Didnt spend a lot of time in the b&b to be honest, but it was reasonably clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. Id recommend this b&b.
