The owner of the place was really nice and spoke good english- nice guy!

bed was dirty with some stains ( i rather not think what it was). i’m writing this review with hard feelings- the owner seemed very nice and spoke good english -it seems that he’s really passionate about the place. but everything else was bad, toilet moist and smelly - beds were at -1 floor so it was really moist/ smelled like some dirty basement. also when i woke up i saw a note on the table near the coffee machine “ that someone had found a bedbug”. With that money i guess it’s ok but i would not recommend, and i’m young and slept in really bad places so consider my opinion authentic.

Het is een rustig verblijf op 20 minuten lopen van het station/centrum. Gratis water/thee en prima bedden met gordijn, lampje en stopcontact. De toiletten waren schoon.

Er is maar 1 badkamer, wat een soort onsen is. De deur kan wel op slot, zodat het privé is maar ik had graag ook een normale douche ruimte gezien.

Sehr nette Gastgeber, hervorragende Verköstigung, viele schöne Sehenswürdigkeiten in Laufweite. Besonderer Pluspunkt: man kann dort Gitarre spielen.

Leider ist der Weg vom Bahnhof zur Unterkunft etwas länger (20 min, ein bisschen bergauf) aber der Gastgeber bietet wohl auch ein Shuttle an, von demher kein Problem.

Lovelt owner and location, very peaceful!

1. 冷蔵庫を利用することができた。2. 貴重品ロッカーが利用できた。3. シーツが清潔だった。4. 衛星のstarlinkに契約しており、internetがWi-Fiで利用できた。5. 翌朝、小雨が降っていた。7時50分に支配人と10分ほど世間話をした。私は8時10分に駅まで向かうため、徒歩で出発した。1分後、支配人が自発的に自動車で追いつき、「乗せて行ってあげるよ」と言ってくれた。私は自動車で駅まで乗せてもらいました。

1. ＪＲ日光駅から1600mの距離だと気付いたが、上り勾配の道なので、行きは徒歩で45分を要した。2. 階段の踏み長さが25cmほどで、狭くて、スリッパを履いていたので、コケそうだった。手すりを握ることを勧める。3. シャワーで体を洗うことができたものの、湯舟は利用できなかった。

The staff was very nice at first.

The room is smelly. My friend was bitten by a leech in his bed (we slept in the dormitory). We asked the owner to move to another room. At first he didn't agree and insisted that we brought the leeches in from the outside. After arguing with him he finally agreed just to move us to other beds in the same dormitory. After another argument he offered to move us to another hostel he has in nikko near the train station, that hostel was nice and clean and without leeches and recommended. (We added a pic of the leech for educational purposes)

Beautiful location with all the shrines and temples of Nikko within walking distance, as well as Tobu Nikko Station. Surrounded by trees, it offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, and they prepared delicious homemade breakfast and dinner at very reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The lodge is in a nice place where the weather is fresh, you don’t even need AC. It was a good place for one night.

The place is a bit too far from the center and it lacks a bit more of cleanliness.

Quiet family run accommodation a short stay out of town. Great home cooked meal for extra $, comfortable dorm room, basic kitchen facilities. The owner organised the onsen for my last nights stay after a few big days which was wonderful, I also received some great recommendations for nearby walks (Kirifuri Falls & Highlands). The walk from town by the river and viewing the mountains is a great way to start and end your day :)

It was like staying at Grandma’s, it was so quiet. Forest around you was beautiful.

Loved the quaint area and the rooms were so cute. The owner was very attentive and personable, made our stay very pleasant and felt like we were one of the family. Would highly recommend.

A bit far from town, 20 minute walk, but the quiet, Forrest was well worth the walk.

The staff was really friendly and everything was clean. The surroundings are beautiful and it's a bit of a walk from the bus station but you enjoy the views!

I turned the TV on but there was no signal. Minimal issue.

The owners are extremely kind and friendly. Breakfast and dinner offered are freshly made and tasty. There is always free water and tea available in the downstairs seating area. The landlord speaks English fluently as he's lived in the US before, hence no problems with communication. The hotel is located between the train station and the temple and shrine area, it takes about 20 minutes on foot to get to the historic sites. On the final day the landlord took my luggage to the station and even brought me by car to a place in the area that I still wanted to see. A great experience.

Die Unterkunft lag schön (zwar ein bisschen außerhalb) mitten in der Natur. Das Zimmer war geräumig und groß. Zudem war das Frühstück sehr lecker und die Gastgeber sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

It's a beautiful stay among the woods. Chicken Curry in dinner and French toast in breakfast are amazing. The hosts are attentive, warm and welcoming. Overall a beautiful place to stay.

The hosts are lovely people who are very welcoming. The bed was comfy, and the heated blanket made for a cosy night. The local scenery is beautiful, and you can easily go for nice walks from the hostel. The large living area is ideal for big groups. It would be a good spot in summertime.

The hostel is a bit far from town. The bathroom was not the cleanest. The washroom felt exposing due to the windows. Only one washroom would present difficulties with a multitude of guests.

We felt at home. Plenty of good sights in walking distance. Nice open fire on a cool night.

Bed was too hard for us but the atmosphere made up for that inconvenience.

breakfast and dinner was delicious. Location is peaceful and quiet and relatively close to the temples. Taxi ride from Tobu Nikko station is also cheap.

I wish better pillows were provided. They were a bit worn out and flat.

The staff were incredibly kind. Treated me like family. The breakfast was tasty and the stay was perfect especially for the price. I booked it on off season and had the dormitory to myself for almost the entire stay

My only issue is that it is far from the station and town, but i knew that when booking.

There were bed bugs in the dormitory. I am covered in bites. Should have left after one night, but there were no other options.

Room was clean enough and quiet, meal was cooked individualy but the room light wasn't lit, after flushed toilet papers returned in the pot. Not exactly complains these are small point.

Steps makng noises, the price was a bit a lot - I thought I paid breakfast included but I paid 2 breakfast at the accommodation as the owner told me I didn't pay yet.

スタッフは親切&フレンドリーでとても良い方々でした。朝食のスクランブルエッグやフレンチトーストは美味しかった。なので余計に良く無い点が残念に思いました。 安価ではあるけれど、それには良くなかった点があるからだと思います。

全体的にメンテナンスが行き届いてないです、というか建物としてはもう限界を超えてる。リノベーションと言うよりはもう建て替えが必要で写真のように映える状態ではありませんでした。エアコンも交換時期かと。1日目は子供が喘息にようになって寝れませんでした。2日目は流石にエアコンつけず窓開けていました、前日の寝不足疲れで寝れましたが、エアコン付けるとカビ臭で咳鼻止まらないでした。隣の部屋の会話、トイレ流す音など普通に良く聞こえますし、廊下、階段の床の張り物も浮いててパキパキメキメキ音を立てずに歩けない状況です。ドアも部屋の中から開けられなくなり困りました。色々と安心して使えない状態でした。

雰囲気のよい共用スペースがあり、お客さんは外国人の方が多く、非日常な交流が生まれて楽しいです。 大晦日に伺ったのですが、皆さんとても親切にしてくださいました。素敵な場所です！

駅からは距離があり、バス路線からも少し離れた所にあるので元気に歩ける人向けかもしれません。 Booking.com上のチェックアウト時間の設定（20時）と実際のチェックアウト時間（18時）が異なるので注意が必要です。

Durante il soggiorno non ho avuto nessun problema in particolare

Bagni piccoli e non troppo puliti. Le prese non sempre funzionanti. L'ambiente comune offre davvero poco, e gli snacks o qualsiasi minimo servizio extra sono a pagamento.

Lovely homely feel. Ken-san and his wife were excellent hosts who made excellent food for a fair price. They even ran me a big hot bath and kindly offered me a lift to the station when I left. Ken-san also went out of his way to help me plan my day trips and gave me recommendations for what to see/how to save money etc. Bed had an electric blanket too which was amazing in winter! Loved it, felt very taken care of!

They didn't respond to my messages through the booking app, and I didn't have WhatsApp so my late check in was a little tricky.

It was a long way from town - no restaurants close. The room smelt of the kerosine heaters used to heat the communal living area. This place is more a backpacker type place - and we are not the backpacker type. We only stayed one night (although we had paid for three)

Place smelled of gas. There was only one shower for the dorm of 8 people. My bedsheet was stained. It’s actually quite a distance from the train station and it may be hard to get a taxi depending on what time you get to the train station. Property also replied quite late to my enquiry about luggage storage by which time I’d made alternative arrangements for my luggage.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. We also appreciated the convenient hotel service to the train station, which made traveling much easier. Overall, it was a pleasant and hassle-free stay.

De locatie was mooi gelegen en perfect om te wandelen naar de bezienswaardigheden. Ik was vooral verrast door de onsen, na een dag reizen en lopen was dit een hele aangename verrassing.

The house is very nice in the forest and close to Nikko city. I stayed 2 nights and i don t regret. The dormitory is big and i slept well. What i like it is the " cosy" atmosphere of the house. It is unique. It is not a simple hotel. Don t waste your energy if you are tired and with suitcase. There are many taxis just front of tobu station train and it is very cheap only 800 yen. For the check out there is a transfer free at 9.30. For the dinner , eat in the house it is very good , fresh food and not expensive. I recommend a very cosy " coffee " place up on the road less than 5 minutes by walking. It is a good place to have a drink. You can reach the famous bridge and monasteries by walking. Thank you the owners they are very helpful, polite, they do the best for the guests. I read reviews about beetles. Keep in mind you are in nikko forest, surrended by trees, wood...its is not a hostel in tokyo.

The owners were just lovely! They made our stay!!‼️❤️ the breakfast was fine, the common space was nice! The place is very convenient to the main attractions! We would stay again!

The location is a bit of a walk from Nikko town BUT much closer than other hotels!!

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the accomodation was pleasant enough, but was booked late during peak season, so was expensive.

For us, it was poorly located because we were using public transport and it was a 20+ minute walk from the station and buses. Because of the location in a forested area, there were a number of beetles in our room. The meals we purchased here were below our normal expectations for Japan.

Super friendly staff, plus optional on-site breakfast and dinner options are great as dinner places in Nikko tend to close early. Comfortable beds too!

Not very much. The mountains around were quite beautiful just wish if I gotta enjoy my moments there.

I don't usually leave bad reviews if the problem is minor. However my experience here was horrible because of severe bed bugs infestation. I got very bad reactions and paranoid of bringing any back home 😔 not mentioning extreme tiredness on the following day from 2 hours of sleep. There was other problems too but again this one overshadowed all others.

Room facilities were very good and comfortable.
