Reviewed Aug 28, 2026This place has been struggling since the first owners sold about 20 years ago. No owner since has been able to get this place to run properly.
This hotel is just a bad version of what it was 20 years ago. The BREAKFAST room has BLACK table cloths !!!!!! Who died???? The staff are DISINTERESTED in doing their jobs. The hotel was EMPTY with no customers! The noise levels are terrible. The rooms are BORING and the NOISE and LIGHT that comes through the gaps in the door are unbelievable.

I actually booked the stay specifically to have a relaxed and peaceful day at the dam, with the intention of enjoying some quiet time, relaxation and tranquillity. Unfortunately, I did not experience that at all. To make matters worse, the room had a strong cigarette smell when we arrived and did not appear to have been properly aired or ventilated. Smoking had taken place in the room before our arrival and you can imagine how that made me feel as I had kids under the age of 10, as per booking least you could have done is ensure room is children safe. From the time we arrived until very late into the night, the hotel played loud music. Regardless of the variety of guests’ tastes or personal preferences, we were essentially subjected to whatever music was being played. There did not even appear to be a particularly large crowd or event that would justify the volume. The constant loud music made it extremely difficult to relax, unwind or enjoy the beautiful surroundings and scenery. It was particularly disappointing because the peaceful setting at the dam was one of the main reasons I chose to book the stay in the first place. Taken together, these issues significantly affected our comfort and enjoyment of the stay and fell well short of the peaceful, relaxing experience I had expected.

How old the hotel is. The lifts are still from the 80s. Our boys got stuck in there for 45mins. The fact that house keeping just knocks and walks in early hrs of the morning. Whether u in your underwear or sitting on the toilet does not concern them asking as they get their dirty towels. There were no do not disturb signs in the room.

The air-conditioning in the room was not working...it was freezing cold.They offered us a hard,not comfortable,small sofa for my 2kids to sleep on.

I wanted a facility that offers spa services to stay for one night. Before I made my booking with the hotel I called the spa and asked if I can book for a massage and if they still had slots available, the lady I spoke to said I can make the booking and that we should communicate via WhatsApp she’ll send me the package. Of which she sent than I went ahead and booked a room in the hotel since I’ll be getting the massage in the hotel. The lady from the spa never got back to me , I am very much disappointed because had I known I would not get the massage in the hotel I would have opted for another hotel that would

We had a spider scare because our chandelier (if that's what that in-room hanging light is called) had a full-blown web that implied the cleaning was at face-value. The shower floor had a dip (construction issue, I figure) which caused water to stagnate.
