Great location, nice building
Tiny rooms and even tinier beds
The portaloo style bathroom isn’t what we were expecting for such a premium priced room (£270) for this reason we wouldn’t stay again
The charm and elegance of the property was fabulous and the location on the cliffs overlooking the ocean was amazing and we loved Ted’s artwork throughout the property. It was only a short walk into town and access to the Tintagel Castle tour. We enjoyed a dinner in the dining room and a great breakfast. The staff were so friendly and very helpful.
The bathroom was a bit small
Beautiful location with view over Tintagel castle. The room was comfortable with a great bed, best sleep of our holiday. Personnel is really friendly and accompanied. There are different places where you can sit downstairs, read a book and enjoy the views. Overall, we loved our stay and would come back again.
Small thing, but for a place this nice and with a certain standard, the WiFi connection could be improved. Especially for the tv’s in the room, it was not possible to watch tv which can be nice after a long walk. Also, the water kettle didn’t fit in the sink to fill it up properly.
The location was amazing, and we had sea views..
Some of the decor..
Very enjoyable stay in a wonderful hotel in a magnificent setting. Views are exceptional. The staff are very helpful.
The staff were all excellent. A beautiful setting overlooking the sea. A joy to be surrounded by so much art.
The shower in our room was a bit tight. A proper bathroom would have been preferable. Only a very minor quibble, though.
The location is one of a kind. The hotel rooms were modernised and kept clean and fresh.

Location. Phenomenal views. Awesome staff and owner! Best rooms. Romantic setting.
The bar used very small pours, smallest I have seen. Breakfast quality and dinner quality great but again small portions.
Location!
Needs updating, even given its age and history. Although I knew I had the tiniest basic room, I was not prepared for the cupboard of a room and uncomfortable bed that I was given. The bathroom is a plastic cube like inside a caravan…. Slippery floor and too small to use the shower. Disappointing moor views turned out to be a window over the carpark. I was situated next to the cleaning cupboard which meant it was noisy and dark.
Grandure and location
Cheap showering facilities with not much room to shower
Location is superb, quite magical. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Bathrooms are a disgrace. Basically a caravan pod. Shoddy bedrooms in need of a facelift. Very basic in room facilities. No water / glasses / hot chocolate / biscuits as you’d expect for £300 a night B&B. Restaurant food poor. It’s like hotel restaurants used to be 40 years ago and not in a good way.
The location was stunning, the room was great, and the view was spectacular
loved it all
Nice views, clean
The atmosphere and the breakfast
Loved the location, the room was outstanding, a meal in the restaurant was delicious, staff were friendly and polite.
For one of the nights the room price shot up really high.
Heel mooie omgeving
Het mag wel een beetje geüpdatet worden
Good location
Booked a suite for the money it cost would expect a small fridge in the room and a small safe also only one small shower gel provided. For the money paid I would expect a lot better
Amazing decoration, relaxed and great rooms.
The second night we had noisy guests next door.
Superb view - i have been allocated a sea view room and it's impressive Staff - kind and efficient
Bathroom size - i absolutely understand it's been added to the room in a very old castle - but exactly for this reason, while it's being added, it could have been a bit bigger. Luckily i'm thin but was really hard to move inside or even just to have a shower
Magisk plats mycket vackert i entrén alla gemensamma utrymmen.
Dusch/toalett fick man backa in. Man kunde inte vända på sig. Det minsta vi något sett.
The location was beautiful, and the hotel was in period to the surroundings. If I had the time, it's a location I would like to explore more.
The room could have done with a lick of paint and the bathroom. If you call it, that was like being in a portaloo. But everything else was great.
A poorly run hotel with customers constantly complaining- the breakfast was appalling
The room was very badly furnished- like a 1970’s guest house
Outstanding location with soectacular views of North Cornish coast, beautifully restored and furnished late Victorian hotel. All staff very friendly, helpful and professional. Room very clean with good hot shower
Room was a bit small as was the ensuite
The hotel is wow in how it sits at the end of Tintagel. The back of the hotel has lovely seating where you can look out across the beautiful coastline. Swallows flying all over the place. The interior decor is very well done and includes very grand seating in the communal Lounge area, with lots of fixtures such as piano, harp, magnificent round table. Also bar area very well designed and ladies toilet.
We booked our room and decided to pay more than we usually would for a sea view room. The room was really clean, comfortable, all the things you need. The downside was the bathroom as it turned out to be one like you would have in a 1970’s caravan, very small, just enough room for one person. With toilet, sink, small shower all literally right next to each other. We were expecting slightly more lavish for the price we paid per night. It was clean and adequate though. Breakfast had been very busy the one morning we tried it. Cooked breakfast wasn’t that good. We thought toast was to be brought with it but it wasn’t so with breakfast already on our table we then had to do our own toast. This was fine if someone had said and then the breakfast would have sat getting cold.
Loved the location. A special place and quite whacky! Enjoyed the art and the feel of that hotel.
Sadly my room has flaking paint from the ceiling. But I spoke to reception and they sorted me a complimentary cuppa in the bar as the cup in my room was covered in flakes.
The location and vistas were amazing. The staff in the bar and for the cream teas were warm, friendly and attentive and made you feel very welcome. Parking was easy.
The reception staff were not attentive at check in or check out and made you feel like a disruption to their day. The room was a classic room and barely a double bed, a seat for one, not two people and the sea view through a small square window with part of the building obscuring the view. Very much in the servants quarters. The lift from the twilight zone was entertaining.
The room was basic but clean and quiet. The bed was also comfortable
The bathroom was probably the smallest room I've ever seen. We really struggled using the shower as it was so tiny also the shower curtain didn't fall all the way to the floor, so the floor got soaking wet each time. Using the shower would not have been possible if we were a bigger size (I'm a 12)
The location was excellent. The staff were excellent, professional yet friendly. Ted, the owner added a personal touch by being around the hotel and coming to personally speak to us during dinner. All the historic items in the hotel was outstanding. We especially liked the Great Hall.
The bathroom in our room was basic, however, this didn't worry us as it was clean and functional and the rate of the room reflected this.
The view
The bathroom and basics of the room which was meant to be luxurious it looked like my grans room bed was ridiculously uncomfortable and creaky beyond belief. The bath was like a caravan built into the room. Food was overpriced so ate elsewhere.
The ONLY good thing about this hotel is the location.
Where to start? Staff are surly and we witnessed one discussing her racist views loudly at breakfast. No one welcomed us or wished us a safe journey when we checked out. Bar staff are poorly trained. The rooms are poorly equipped, the bathroom is a plastic insert , tiny and uncomfortable. There’s a built in ashtray near the toilet which tells you how old they are. The worst thing however is the resident “artist”, Ted Stourton , his atrocious work is EVERYWHERE. Hideous and out of place in the old building. He looms around at lunch and breakfast talking absolute rubbish, he alluded to the fact that he had been reincarnated from a famous artist (Monet), utter rubbish. The potentially beautiful building is ruined by piles of tacky rubbish, fake flowers and sculptures. Photos of such delights as Nigel Farage and Charlie Kirk are proudly displayed in the tatty reception area, alongside a sign stating that a book written by a co-owner will explain why they refused to take “illegal immigrants”.
I like the location of the Castle to the various beaches nearby. I liked some quirky aspects of the building such as the antique-feeling elevator and the views from the rooms.
Curtains in the room didn’t cover the windows completely so the room was flooded with light from the morning sun which meant a relaxing holiday, we were awoken at 05:30/6am each day. The walls are terribly thin. The bathroom in the room is nothing short of a caravan bathroom - hard plastic walls, floors, ceiling, doors etc. No in room amenities besides tea and coffee making facilities, so was just as well we bought our own toiletries and hairdryer. Breakfast was nice but not worth £35 for two people, to which you had to pre book your slot when checking in. I understand, but I’m also not sure if I’m going to be hungry at 7:45am in two days time. Paying £400 for two nights was not nearly justified and when mentioning the issues such as curtains to the staff, they responded with ‘yeah they don’t close properly, do they haha’. No apology, no forewarning, nothing.
Beautiful hotel incredible location friendly staff
Booked a sea view room but it was really small and only a partial view due to parapet which blocked the view so you could only see if you were standing. Paid more for a sea view felt it's should be described as partial sea view. Food was ok but nothing special.
Beautiful hotel with exceptional views and a superb location. Very close to the ocean, historic Tintagel Castle bridge/walk, and Merlin's cave. Very nice restaurant and lovely patio overlooking the magnificent Cornish coast. Our favorite activity was watching the swallows fly endlessly around the hotel.
Location
Room facilities were very poor. The bathroom was extremely small. Carpets were stained. It wasn't what I was expecting
Amazing location, overall room size, parking, restaurant, staff
Tiniest bathroom ever, old room, needs refresh
Exceptional location
Friendly staff and lovely view
Znakomite śniadania. Cudowne otoczenie. Bardzo miły ii pomocny personel.
The location is incredible. The communal areas in the hotel are lovely.
The room had a caravan style pod instead of a bathroom. It was uncomfortable and my husband had to sit on the toilet with the door open as he couldn’t close the door because sure his legs were in the way - it was that small. There was no water or glasses in the room. There was one toilet roll for two people over a 3 might stay and we had to ask for toilet roll - we were given one. There is no service of the room unless you request it - I assumed this meant making the bed and renewing towels. It wasn’t. It meant toilet rolls and milk/tea/coffee wasn’t replenished unless you asked. Unfortunately we left at 8 in the morning and the desk didn’t open until 8.30 - so no one to ask. It was very basic for a luxurious price - at £200 per night room only we expected far more. It is a great location but that simply doesn’t out way the cost for the facilities we got.
The Hotel is a Beautiful Period Hotel with amazing views
With the Dining area being so splendid the bedroom should off had a full length mirror for Guests to make sure they were happy with their appearance, also no shower mat or Iron/Board.
Food was exceptional, calming atmosphere and all members of staff were really friendly, approachable and helpful. Thank you from room 105
Bathroom was a bit on the small side but usable.
The view
Room was not value for money, no air on, poor fan offered , no phone in Room to call reception, no fridge in Room. room too small, bed too small, not value for money
Amazing location with superb views. We booked a suite, which was lovely and comfortable, with fantastic views overlooking the sea. The setting was beautiful and certainly one of the highlights of our stay.
Where to begin…? I’ll start with our room. Unfortunately, there were several issues from the moment we arrived. The shower wasn’t working and had to be repaired. When my wife turned on the jets in the bathtub, a considerable amount of dirt came out, making the bath completely unusable. The sash windows were also old and dirty, and throughout the night they repeatedly banged in the wind, making it very difficult to sleep. We went for lunch at the bar, which was another disappointing experience. We had to wait in the queue for approximately 20 minutes just to place our order. The member of staff serving us appeared to be unfamiliar with the till, and another colleague had to come over to assist her. After waiting for around an hour in total, our food finally arrived. We also had dinner at the hotel. The food itself was reasonably good, while the staff was friendly and nice they lack in professionalism. It was difficult to get the staff’s attention, and we often felt that we had to be unnecessarily patient before being served. The menu also offered a rather limited choice. We cancelled our breakfast for the following morning, so unfortunately we cannot comment on that. Overall, our stay was disappointing. The problems with the room, combined with the slow and unprofessional service, significantly affected our experience.
Colazione, posizione top
Bagno improponibile, come essere in camper. Ascensore vecchissimo.
The hotel was amazing. The staff were friendly and professional. The location is beautiful. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

- emplacement idéal, très belle vue. - personnel très accueillant. - lit double confortable. - aménagement des espaces communs. - parking gratuit. - chambre familiale spacieuse.
Lovely decor and extremely comfortable lovely location
Did not like incredibly small bathroom with steep step up into it. Did not have breakfast as £18 per person per day seemed very expensive
Spectacular views and country walks around the property. Stylish, comfortable four poster bed.
Basic bathroom, stitch artworks, tired decor eg flaking paint, stained carpets. Unreliable housekeeping- our room was not cleaned despite request to do so.
Das Zimmer war einfach perfekt ausgestattet. Wir fühlten uns wie in einem Schloß! Einfach genial!!!
The location was phenomenal
Lovely friendly staff but a bit clueless - girls serving wine even struggled to open the bottle & knew nothing about wine whatsoever - management is at fault here for not giving them adequate training
Great location with amazing views. Lovely facilities downstairs
The bathroom was terrible
The hotel location
The bathroom in room is ridiculous, old and tiny. As it is unusually warm in england the room was hot and only one window could be opened as other one painted shut. Decor at hotel very strange with fake flowers everywhere and odd ornaments and tac, very jaded. There are paintings everywhere which were very unusual. When having a drink in the bar some locals came in and acted like they were in their own lounge room, they were rude to hotel guests and generally acting overpowering, making nasty comments. When complained we were told - oh they are locals, the management spoke to them but it was too late for us and no apologies from them given. We chose to leave the next morning we asked for a refund for our second night but of course won't see that. Also there is an elevator be extremely careful as it has a concertina inner metal door, very dangerous.
Location, ground floor decor, style and nostalgia
En-suite like an aircraft loo. Carpets in bedroom cheep and stained. Art were big and colourful but the same basic picture hundreds of times everywhere!
I always stay at here when I visit Tintagel and have been doing so for about 10 years now. The room we stayed in had been beautifully renovated and was exceptional the views are breathtaking and the staff always make us feel so welcome. It is like coming home
The view from the room on the second floor was nice looking out at sea. The four poster bed was mediocre
We thought the place was highly overrated and priced way above what it was worth - even the breakfasts were just 'OK'. The wifi is dreadful and the bathroom pod odd!!
It was a self contained little flat with its own kitchen
I thought we would be in the big house
The view and the castle from outside
Room was in need of a freshening up, we appreciated the antique furniture, a bit less the state that they were in. The bathroom, a plastic pod in the room, was absolutely abysmal for what is supposedly an historical hotel of upper category. Hardly any room to shower and just enough space to avoid using shower, toilet and sink all at the same time. Felt something that belonged more in a small boat or RV than an hotel. Walls in room and public spaces are covered in debatable art, and I'm not even mentioning the questionable selection of pictures of owners with right wing figures. Breakfast is rather basic for the price asked, I suggest you'll have a better quality breakfast in one of the bakeries and cafe in town. Suggestion for future traveler, avoid at all costs the "visits" of the art studio in the hotel, it's a waste of time trying to sell you the art of the in residence artist/owner.
The location and the views is everything - amazing place to visit, walk, enjoy the sunset. The hotel certainly has got charm and character, the staff are fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. You feel like you’re on the edge of the Earth being there.
The building and the rooms are quite old, however it seems under constant improvement and some renovation. The bed was quite squeaky so was a bit difficult to sleep, but the stunning views from our windows were worth everything.
Absolutely stunning. Beautiful location. Amazing interior decor. Fantastic views and excellent service.
Only possible negative was that the en suites are tiny - just a little pod really that has been added on.
The location and views were fantastic!
Our hotel room was basic and the shower felt like a hostel/ caravan shower. It was very disappointing, especially with the £225 per night price, not including breakfast.
Impressive on all fronts. The location, the staff were second to none. The owners took great interest in their guests. No request was too much
Nothing!
The food was very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast and Dinner was excellent. Location was excellent. Views were excellent. Castle is well maintained to a very high standard.
The apartment bathroom did not have a proper stand up shower. It had a shower on a bathtap, which could only be used sitting in the bath which was not ideal. There was also no shower curtain, so was very messy having a shower. We also had a very noisy bathroom pump which was located in the main bedroom, which was very annoying.
The view
Bathroom like a portaloo, miss matched furniture, horrendous artwork everywhere, average breakfast, bed falling to pieces, requires refurb, not worth the money
Room view & location
Terrible wi-fi with no internet connection. No mini fridge . Rather mean with the toiletries provided.
The location is amazing. The welcome
The size of the room, with no space for cases is not great. Also the size of the room for the price. Unfortunately the kitchen vent was below room, so with window open the breakfast smell was not great.
It was really nice, enjoyed the place and subtle vibe for a evening.
The views the surroundings are amazing Staff were very polite and nice and made us feel welcome. Room. Was gorgeous and clean Breakfast was lovley. The room did have a portal type bathroom did not effect our stay was very clean and had everything you needed shower pressure was really good. One thing I will say is it is a dog friendly hotel so maybe pop a couple more bins around for doggy bags. Our pup loved the big run abouts she had whilst we was there.. I honestly didnt want to leave. Me and partner have not got a bad word to say about this hotel our stay was perfect.
Room, location. Our bathroom was great.
Staff were friendly. Location excellent.
The room was poorly decorated and ensuite unit in need of updating.
The room booking.com shows on the advert is nothing like the one we were given. I complained to the manager who told me if my room was going to be like the photos on booking.com I would have paid double the price I was charged! The room which was dated, paint chips everywhere and a tiny tiny caravan bathroom and toilet you could not turn in cost £333.00 for two nights! And no breakfast! I tried to contact booking.com via the help page at the time but the website sent me in circles while we were on holiday. I’m not happy, I’ve been meaning to complain but been too busy so hopefully this review might help with that.
The room was awful full stop , I’ve stayed in better b&b on blackpools sea front. I feel totally ripped off and wish I booked King Arthur’s Arms for a third of the price with breakfast!
The location and parking included - our room overlooked the castle, which was really special. I didn’t realise just how close it was, so that was a wonderful surprise. The bar staff were really lovely and funny, we enjoyed having a joke with them. The evening food was nice too, the pizza and soup were decent.
The WiFi and lack of signal - great to be off the grid, but not always practical.
I liked the surroundings of the hotel and the hiking trails, also Tintigan.
I agree with the other reviewers, and I would not add anything here.
Vergleiche vorherige Bewertung.
The view was stunning and the building itself
There was excessive abouts of items on display that didnt fit with the castle or paintings on the walls.
Location was lovely and the room was clean
We paid £160 per night for a 2 night stay without breakfast! Certainly NOT worth the money. It felt like we were paying for the view and to be in a castle. Our room was VERY depressing with beige carpet, headboard and magnolia walls and curtains. The room was so stuffy when we arrived that we had to ask for fans and we could only open one of the small windows. The bathroom was a joke it was a caravan pod you could barely move in without banging your elbows on the walls or knees on the toilet. Our bed was slightly more than a single with a small attachement supposedly to make it a double. Very very uncomfortable we couldn't even roll over without pushing the other one to the edge. About midnight a loud humming noise started which sounded like it came from next door so we spent the whole night with hardly any sleep. We were so disappointed with the standard of our room we checked out after the first night. The main rooms and corridors appeared opulent that it made our room seem like the servants quarters in comparison. I was too upset by our experience that I couldn't even speak to the reception staff I just wanted to get out. I know we booked a classic room but I expected a bit more than that. Don't book room 208 it is definetly NOT a double. I very rarely complain but this just took the biscuit. The whole experience tainted the place for us.
Perfect location,. Great views,, staff are awesome
Although it had an imposing appearance from the outside and inside, they have created a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All members of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Sitting outside in the afternoon with a drink looking at the sea and King Arthur's Castle never got old. One of the highlights was a tour with Ted Stourton to see his art studio. His art work and ideas are inspiring. Tintagel is just a short walk from the hotel and has a lot to offer
We had problems with the WiFi which would keep dropping and the television in the room was not able to stream
Breakfast had plenty of choice and the location was beautiful
The bathroom was a bit small
My room view was fantastic.
At first I wasn't a fan of the decor, but it grew on me and everything was comfortable and I really enjoyed my stay.
Posizione eccezionale, staff cordialissimo, atmosfera magica.
Beautiful building and amazing views. Great location for exploring Tintagel. Room was large and had a four poster bed.
Toilets/showers were what you would find in a hostel. Bit expensive food but they are proud of themselves and act with dignity. So much stuff for sale in the entryway, and what's with the picture of Charlie Kirk prominently displayed?
Very welcome staff, incredible view and owner makes all guests very special. Room match expectations
Unfortunately dinner and breakfast disappointed. Eastern Europeans dishes are not easy to cook and Chief fall on it. Quality of food are good but unfortunately wasn't cook well,
POSIZIONE FAVOLOSA
BAGNO IN CAMERA TALMENTE PICCOLO DA ESSERE SIMILE A QUELLO DI UN AEREO..PRATICAMENTE FARE UNA DOCCIA E'STATA UN'IMPRESA. RECEPTION APERTA DALLE 8,30...RAPPORTO QUALITA'/PREZZO INSUFFICIENTE
Beautiful Location on cliffside Lovely reception ,lounge and dining room areas First bedroom ,curtains would not close fully Second bedroom ,curtains closed, Room had not seen fresh paint for about 15 years En suite bathroom was a plastic box stock in the middle of the room, not fit for normal usage. the small balcony outside the bedroom ,covered in birddroppings Never again The bedroom was a disaster

The location is fabulous. The decor and furnishings in the public areas.
The room was very basic. It needs decorating and some TLC. The bathroom was awful, like something on a ferry, but much worse.
