The staff where totally amazing kind and very thoughtful as my wife was up to stockport for her dad’s funeral. They heard about it as my wife was so upset at the day of the funeral noticed and comforted her with kindness and empathy so kind company should be proud of there staff.

I really enjoyed a peaceful stay at Alma. The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed their continental breakfast too. I booked a single room and I spent my time as if I was staying in my room at home. I highly recommend this place for a quiet stay and I will definitely be choosing Alma again when I visit Stockport. Really helpful staff, dated hotel but super clean and super comfy bed and bedding. I was worried I would be cold as radiator was 9ff, but a plug in heater was available already in the room. Super hot, deep bath

As a solo traveller, would have preferred key card entry to room rather than a key. No restaurant facilities available on the evening that I arrived.

Second time staying Only 1 downfall this time the WiFi was really bad and the TV where so annoying not changing channels and volume really bad....also one morning was no full breakfast only continental breakfast when I had paid for full breakfast.

Great location with parking included. Ideal for visit to Manchester area without the hassle of driving in the city. Breakfast was additional but well worth it. Can’t beat a full English breakfast. Staff particularly appreciated. As people have mentioned could do with a bit of TLC but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I would certainly stay again and probably will.

Decor could have been more modern but wasn’t an issue.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good.

There was a private function booked. We had been warned previously by email about this.. but it was too late for us to find an alternative hotel. That night, the disco music did not stop until midnight, and our room was literally vibrating with the noise. There's no lift at the hotel, and luckily, I can still make a flight of stairs. We did warn the hotel that I had mobility issues and was told there were no ground floor rooms, but I'm sure it must have been possible to find a room closer to the stairs that wasndirectly over the disco! As I have stated, the staff were few, but very helpful and kind. The hotel desperately needs revamping, as the furniture and decoration are all very tired.

Convienant to local bus routes, cafes and some bars, plus a Sainxburys.

It was under refurbishment, no dining area as kitchen was closed after breakfast. The hotel is under new management. Desperately needs upgrading. The doors,wardrobes and windows are so old and when opening or closing are extremely noisy, especially at 1am in morning as l had on 2nights from exceptionally ignorerant asain gentlemen in the 2 rooms above.

The hotel had no air conditioning and was very outdated. It felt like staying at a grandmother's house that hadn't been redecorated in 30 years. On the positive side, everything was clean, which I appreciated.

Check in 3pm with checkout 11am, didn’t give much time with breakfast being served at 8am till 10am. Was very busy for first hour so got in for 9:15am. We Also had to wait a long time and for items of the breakfast to be served up. Waiting for orange juice, bacon, hash browns, eggs.

The room had poor ventilation as the windows didn’t open wide enough. The sound proofing was poor as every time someone shut a door, it resonated through the room.

Staff lovely when arriving at the property, Tv worked and could watch Netflix, ITV ect.

Restaurant was closed due to a party that was going on. Bed was the worse bed I slept in. So hard, so uncomfortable. Breakfast was absolutely burnt, bacon was rock hard and everything else tasted stale. Definitely needs to be upgraded. Literally seen 4 people who were staying there and one couple was asking for a refund of the morning of check out. It definitely needs TLC and a make over. Workers on front of building using spray cans to spray the windows, the smell was so strong.

Great location. The rooms are basic but it’s a budget hotel and it was spotless. The staff were also fab which makes all the difference.

Traditional hotel feel. Clean and functional. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free Internet. Free parking in large car park - no need to register your car registration. Easy to get to, being located on main road out of Stockport (A6).

Wry close to where our football tournament was. Shops within walking distance. Bed was comfy.

Came down to breakfast at 9.15. Breakfast ends at 10.00 Had to ask for orange juice. Then there were no plates had to find someone and ask for some. No fresh eggs, had to ask for them too. Went to get a second cup of tea and there was no milk or cups. The staff were grumpy. Not sure if they were short staffed but this was not acceptable. It was much better the last time we stayed. Also a lot more expensive than the last time we stayed. I appreciate that everything has gone up generally but I didn't feel I got as much value for money this time.

Hotel could do with some tender loving care. Other guests continually letting the doors slam well into early morning. Breakfast was nothing less than a congealed lukewarm offering. Plastic cups for juice/water!!! Didn't bother with it on our second day.

Scaffolding on outside, accommodation in 70 style flat roof extension at side of hotel long way to room. View from room a dirty back yard. After booking and paying told there were told function on , music was so loud we felt we were at wedding disco! Finished at midnight . Hotel didn’t provide evening meals .

Very clean with friendly and informative staff

There is a musty smell in the corridor of the annex which is very strong. The hotel could do with some modernisation. Plumbing is very loud.

Breakfast management on Sat 20th was poor. 5 of the hot buffet choices were unavailable halfway through service at 9am and a lengthy wait (15 min) for restocking

All the facilities apart from breakfast met my expectations

At 7.50 a.m. the breakfast was tired, dried out and barely eatable. It’s disappointing presentation pulled my assessment downward significantly

La posizione é molto strategica in quanto si trova attaccata a die fermate del bus con le quali si puó arrivare direttamente in centro a Manchester oppure anche prendere il bus che porta dritto all’aeroporto La zona é molto tranquilla e sicura e l’hotel ha la receptiona aperta 24h quindi anche se si torna tardi, basta suonare all’ingresso e qualcuno verrà ad aprire Colazione buona, non molto varia ma più che altro una classica British Breakfast che é sempre gradita Staff molto cordiale

The mound of dust behind the bed. The sensation of being in a club whilst trying to sleep. I know they said there might be some noise from a function they had on the night of my stay, but I didn’t realise the floorboards would be bouncing with the sound.
