Provider-sourced guest reviews.
This hotel is centrally located to pretty much every attraction in Dublin. I was easily able to walk anywhere I wanted to go. The rooms are new and nicely decorated. The hotel staff was generally helpful. The breakfast and bar were very overpriced for what you get. The location really cannot be beat. I was in a smaller room but it had everything I needed.
Beautiful hotel, with lots of character. Staff were on hand to check in, they were welcoming and it was a quick check in time. Hotel is within walking distance to high tourist locations such as the castle shops and many bars, however the room is very quiet and noise from outside was not any problem, by night the street was pretty calm and quiet. We had a deluxe double room. Good size room with plenty of storage and space to sit. Bed was very comfortable with 2 good sized pillows each. Plug sockets on both sides of the bed and at the desk area. Bathroom was big with a lovely large shower and rainfall shower head. Housekeeping topped up towels and tea and coffee supplies each day. We had dinner once which was superb, service was fast but your not rushed at all. The meals were beautiful and plentiful. Breakfast we had to have every day as this was also incredibly good. A full range of breakfast items, pastries fruit cereal, small jars of yogurt granola and fruit, fruit bowls and of course the cooked breakfast. You could eat like a king! Enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone. Hope to return again soon.
Super friendly and courteous staff, from reception, bar, and especially Maria at breakfast who reminded me what Dublin hospitality used to be like . It seems there is a conscious effort from the top down to ensuring one’s stay is memorable and that all who choose to stay here will definitely be back again. I know I will. Top class, well done everyone
Lovely valentines trip, paid extra decorations in room was such a lovely surprise for my boyfriend, lovely hotel, very nice staff
Went today, the bar was absolutely empty and the café, i’m appalled how shocking and real a member of staff was he was wearing a suit he was walking in the bar me and my and my baby went in looking for food and it was so rude we had to leave. We didn’t say a word I did do anything but I’m shocked-and appalled how people can treat people like this in this day age. Would never recommend this place. It’s terrible absolutely shock.
Excellent stay, location is excellent, staff friendly, helpful and welcoming. Rooms were spotlessly clean, roomy and fabulous
We had an amazing stay at The Mercantile. Super friendly and helpful staff. The bar has a really good vibe, we met our friends at the hotel and ended staying for drinks all afternoon. The cocktails were amazing. We loved the decor of the hotel and the location was perfect for us. We had breakfast at the hotel and my husband said the eggs Florentine were the best he’s ever had! We’ve booked to come back again in April and we can’t wait!
Bedroom was great small but perfect for what i wanted. Also very quiet for being in the spot it is no sound of traffic lead to a perfect sleep
an incredible stay! i 100% recommend. the mercantile is in a perfect location - a 2 minute walk from temple bar! my room was also great and super spacious, even though i only got the room with the one double bed. i will be staying here any time i visit dublin.
Really enjoyed our recent stay in the Mercantile. Arrived early but lovely reception staff took our bags so we could enjoy the city. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. Staff very friendly and there was a good atmosphere in the bars later. Breakfast was delicious as the food is cooked fresh. We look forward to our next stay in Dublin, thank you.
Beautiful breakfast orchestrated by Maria! Despite the absolute scores of people, Maria conducted a symphony of dishes and staff with poise and precision. Truly the most delicious morning meal I have ever had a hotel. Music to my mouth!
I cannot rate this hotel enough, it is beautiful through and through. The staff are humours and engaging. Their memory! Maria and her boys at breakfast ‘decaff Americano with oat milk’, John with his hat, making sure our travels in Dublin were effortless, and the young lad at the bar pouring countless Baileys for us! The food was sublime, the rooms lovely and the shower amazing. We will be back. Thank you
Lovely modern renovated hotel location excellent too our room had all amenities we needed in a very clean modern room although a little on small size for us we would definitely go back but just book a larger room staff are friendly and attentive the bar area was great and again staff friendly although we didn’t eat at the Mercantile we did see the food which looked good 😉🥰 Definitely recommend and would stay here again when visiting Dublin 🍀😉
The hotel has an absolutely central location, perfect for exploring Dublin on foot. The interiors are stunning and truly unique — it felt like staying inside an old ship, with beautiful details and a very atmospheric design. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The rooms were a bit on the small side, but they were very well designed and charming, so it didn’t take away from the overall experience. A great choice for anyone looking for something special in the heart of the city.
Location and value for the location is excellent. Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Cosy double is very comfy but try not to have too much luggage. Space is limited. Excellent for a few days stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall great experience.
The Mercantile hotel was in a great location, with beautiful colors and vibes, and the free water was awesome. We had been married in Northern Ireland as part of our trip so they very kindly left us a card! The man at the front in the overcoat and bowler hat was so friendly and helpful when we were trying to find somewhere to get postage and send our postcards. We had the king room and were glad we did because anything smaller would’ve been too small with the amount of luggage we had. I also wish there had been a blow dryer in the room because mine did not survive the converter plug from the US. They were having issues with the elevators when we were there but thankfully only one had been broken at a time and they were fixed quickly. To us, the beds were extremely firm and the pillows very large, so personally I could not sleep well while we were there. Also, you couldn’t tell it from the pictures, but the windows in the room open to the inside of the hotel, so you couldn’t leave your curtains open if you wanted any sort of privacy.
The Mercantile is a great place to stay in Dublin city. Very friendly staff. Helpful and efficient. Rooms are lovely and spotlessly clean. Great atmosphere in the bar at night and delicious breakfast!! Well done everyone. Would definitely recommend this hotel
hotel was great location staff were brilliant very helpful and friendly. love the décor of the whole hotel . didn't know what to expected when we booked this hotel but we got a gem of a hotel
Celebrated my 50th birthday with my husband in The Mercantile Hotel. Location was fantastic and the hotel/bar was welcoming, stylish and spotless. We had a beautiful breakfast the next morning and the staff were so friendly.
Amazing hotel, one of the best I have stayed in. From the moment I checked in the service from all the staff was great. The rooms were spotless and the facilities fantastic. The bed was comfy, the shower was brilliant and the decor just made it. Breakfast had plenty of hot & cold choices. Honestly best hotel in Dublin and the location is only a few minutes walk from Temple Bar.
Great location! Near shopping centers and pub's 🍻😁. Atmosphere is 🔝. Room is perfect, new and clean. Many thanks to Marija for the best breakfast😊
A beautiful newly renovated hotel and restaurant. The rooms are very comfortable and everyone working here is friendly, professional and helpful, especially Isra in the restaurant. We have eaten out at other restaurants three times so far but the Mercantile has been the best food by far. I love the decor, they put thought into all of the little details. It’s nicer than a lot of four star hotels I’ve stayed in.
Cosy double was perfect for a single person to be in for two nights - small but comfortable. Staff were available at any time and everything felt clean. Love the decor as well!!
Eabha was the absolute best. Such a sweetheart during every interaction. Gave great recommendations and made our stay so wonderful.
Great hotel with great staff! So lovely, cozy and classy. The breakfast Marija prepares every morning is amazing! Would go again just for that!
Fabulous hotel in a prime location and in walking distance to all of Dublin’s attractions. Wonderful, very helpful and friendly staff from the reception to the restaurant, in particular Marija, the restaurant manager- great atmosphere. The breakfast was very good with a wide variety of foods fresh to order or pastries, fruit and yogurt. The room was comfortable, but compact . The bed was extremely comfortable. Definitely great value for money and would certainly stay here again if I come Dublin. Thank you.
Great location. Cool design. Comfortable beds. Good value and I will stay there again. Friendly helpful staff too
Our server Mirella was so attentive and caring ! Ordered the wings and the Han Hock croquettes which were both delicious and the wait time wasn’t long at all ! Cocktails were great also!
In the CenteLocated right in the heart of Dublin! The location is perfect for starting a pub crawl, whether you want to hit the famous Temple Bar area or find some hidden gems away from the tourist traps. Most sights are within walking distance, so you won't waste time on buses, taxis, or Ubers. Just step out of the hotel and you’re right in the middle of the action!r to go to
Great hotel and lovely staff. The only downside was the noise in the room — it was really disappointing and would put me off booking again.
Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff from check in to departure. The rooms are very pleasant, super clean, and comfortable, and the adjacent lounge, bar and restaurant were beautifully done with tasteful food and menu options. The price was very good for the location and the neighborhood in Central Dublin can’t be beat; we walked to all local pubs, restaurants and attractions, like Trinity College, the Temple Bar, Guinness and churches. nearby. We would stay here again without hesitation.
Very nice hotel in the heart of Dublin! Rooms were nicely decorated and clean. Staff were so friendly!! It really made a difference when I arrived after a long flight at 6am or when I dropped my phone in a hard to reach place in the hotel restaurant. Such a great option especially for the price!!
Stayed in a triple bed bedroom with friends. Extremely comfortable with sound proofed windows. Very clean and quiet at night hotel. Excellent location. Would definitely stay here again
An amazing hotel looks a lot more expensive than it actually is, the staff were so friendly and could not do enough for you rooms were always cleaned and spotless. And it situated right in the middle of Dame street near all the restaurants and bars where the night life is brilliant a lot of live singers last night in peader kearneys bar was so much fun and just up the road from the hotel.Overall I would advise anyone who’s looking at the mercantile hotel to book it and I will definitely be going to Dublin as again and staying there. Many Thanks to the staff for making my weekend so pleasant and enjoyable Dan from Kent
Fantastic location , beautifully decorated throughout. Spotless clean and friendly staff. Didn’t get the chance to eat or drink here but will most definitely return
Room had 2 twins beds that were adequate for myself and sister. Water bottles (cartons) are complementary. Amenities do not include lotion and trying to pack light coming oversees for the first time you will need. Steamer for clothes worked very well. Bartender is knowledgeable of local liquors vs American.
Excellent hotel central to the Temple Bar district of Dublin. We absolutely loved staying at this hotel, it has lots of character and very friendly staff. We stayed in a deluxe double room which was spacious and a perfect size for the two of us for a two-night stay. The room was very clean and we loved the bathroom! The room was around £225 for two nights (through Hotels.com) and we would have absolutely no issue paying this to stay again. There is a bar/restaurant attached the hotel and although we didn’t dine here, there were some lovely cocktails and beverages on offer that we enjoyed! The only downside is that the hotel is located on Dame Street around a number of bars and clubs, and it did get a bit noisy at night, but the room was sound-proofed well enough. I’d also recommend to the hotel about placing softer pillows in the rooms, as all the pillows in our room were very firm, along with the mattress.
This hotel is beautiful, ambience in the bar was great, the rooms were decorated to such a high standard and the location was perfect, a couple of minutes walk to the temple bar pubs. The hotel was well maintained and rooms cleaned to a high standard. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Rooms were well sound proofed, we had a lovely quiet stay! The value for money of this property was brilliant, for how nice and central it was, we couldn’t believe the price. We’d definitely stay here again.
Run, don’t walk, away from the Mercantile. Do not rely upon photos on the website. These rooms are apparently designed for leprechauns, and even they would find the rooms tiny. Been all over the world, and have never seen a smaller room than the so-called “deluxe double” they gave us. No idea how they would fit a bed into their “cozy snug” room, which is somehow even smaller.
Location - fantastic, could see the temple bar pub from our window. 10 mins to dublin castle, less than 30 minute walk to guinness factory. Could get a taxi within seconds. Shops, restaurants, bars, literally next door. Atmosphere was great, very busy restaurant and bar, lively and fun to be in. Hotel has separate entrance so you can come in quietly if you want to avoid. Liveliness does not disrupt sleep however. Does take a bit of time to order drinks if popping into the bar but having watched the barstaff, this is because they make cocktails to the highest standard! Rooms were great, bathroom was very modern. Good shower pressure. Good quality shampoo, conditioner etc. Aircon/heating. Not enough storage/hangers for hanging/folding clothes for 2 people but this was the only drawback. Suitcases fit well under the bed so thats a bonus. Great options for TV, can log into own netflix etc easily. Just remember to log out! Exceptionally clean, lovely cleaning staff and checkin/out staff. Some noise levels at night (literally in the town centre) but did not disrupt our sleep. It was christmas/new year so perhaps busier than normal. Would definitely book this hotel again next time we come to the city and would recommend!
Stayed 1 night 30th December. This is a superb hotel, recently modernised, everything is pristine and shiny. We stayed in a single room that was beautifully decorated. Location wise, its perfect, 5 minutes from Temple Bar, 5 minutes from Grafton Street, 5 minutes from O'Connell Street. It has a really nice bar, restaurant and coffee shop as well. I'd stay here again without hesitation.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It is simply amazing. We stayed for 3 nights over the Christmas period, the room was spotless and had everything we needed. There were approximately 5 coat hangers , which was enough for us, if you need more, I'm sure reception would supply them. We had a room facing the main road and the entrance to Temple Bar nightlife. Although we heard a couple of sirens, we were never kept awake by noise of people still out on the town. The Bar downstairs was reasonably priced and although we didn't sample the food, it looked very appetising. I really can't fault this hotel, if I'm going to be really picky, I would say , the pillows are extremely firm, and took me a while to get comfortable. That is just my personal opinion though and I'm sure others would probably prefer a more firm pillow . ( it certainly didn't keep me awake ) . Looking forward to returning at some point in the new year.
Amazing experience, rooms are comfortable, hotel very quirkey, food is delicious and freshly made, hotel staff and very friendly and helpful. A must stay hotel for all the above and location too.
Where do I start, how an earth is this 3 ⭐️I will never know. Amazing staff (Stephanie was a super ⭐️)amazing venue the decor is so on point, amazing food, the full Irish was the best I’ve ever had. The room was so clean and the bathroom was spectacular, its bang on Dame st so it’s a bit lively outside at times but that the reason you came to Dublin perhaps. Thanks again to the Mercantile for a fantastic stay keep up the great work.
I had a lovely stay at this hotel and would recommend it. The room was clean and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. The staff were friendly and professional. The location was perfect—convenient and close to everything! The hotel was welcoming and well-maintained. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely choose this hotel again in the future.
Excellent staff, excellent location, food delicious. Check in and check out was straight forward and quick. Very clean hotel
The room was located on a busy road, but it didn’t affect our stay. The location is excellent—close to bars, temple Street, restaurants, and shopping, so everything was within easy walking distance. The only downside was the check-in policy. Although our room was ready at noon when we arrived, check-in wasn’t until 4pm, and we were asked to pay an extra €25 to access it earlier. Aside from that, it was a great stay and we’d happily return.
Had a great stay at this hotel. Everything was really good, but a special mention has to go to John at front of house. He couldn’t have been more helpful – helping with our bags, booking taxis for us and always being on hand. When we realised we’d left a bag in a taxi, John went above and beyond to sort it and get it back to us so we didn’t miss our flight, which we were so grateful for. Lovely hotel and John really made the stay for us. Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. The breakfast was truly a highlight an excellent selection, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and well presented, making it a great start to each day. The staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful throughout our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Overall, a lovely experience with fantastic breakfast, great service, and the most comfortable accommodation we have had in a long time. Highly recommended.
Unfortunately our stay was just for one night we both said we should have booked longer. Girls on reception were very welcoming and friendly . Our room nicely decorated , clean and modern . Bar and dining room staff were friendly and looked very smart in their lovely uniforms. We had a lovely evening meal and the breakfast next morning was delicious. We will definitely be returning hopefully very soon. So central to all the great shops, bars and restaurants.
This hotel is brilliant. Perfect location, staff are so friendly. A good quality hotel and super clean throughout - would absolutely book again to stay here.
Such an enjoyable experience in the heart of Dublin! Seriously, this boutique Hotel comes packed with unique character and surpassed all expectations that you will not have experienced anywhere else from the beautiful decor, friendly staff and amazing food you just cannot ask for more👏Best Breakfast ever!! Looking forward to returning very soon to enjoy more of this very special Hotel🤩..5x🌟’s
Staff were very friendly always went the extra mile to help hotel was very well located close to everything but also not too close to be too noisy was so good in fact we extended our stay will be back again
The Mercantile is a hotel that has a perfect location, the staff was very friendly, the rooms are rather small but very neat.
We booked 3 rooms for a one night stay for 6 of us. The central location was ideal for a pre Christmas visit. The rooms were clean, well designed and very comfortable. Every member of staff was friendly and professional. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Highly recommended, we will return. Thank you 😊
A lovely hotel in the middel of the city centre. We were surprised with the quietness of the room and everything was good, no remarks and we would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic hotel in a great location. Staff are very pleasant and the rooms are spotless. I stayed in a deluxe triple room and it was perfect for for girlie trip.
The Mercantile Hotel is located right in center of Dublin. Very nice modern hotel with exelents service from all around the staff. Very clean. And very tastfy breakfast an dinners. We can strongly give our recomendation.
Staff 10_10 room 10-10 location 10-10 and have to say food was amazing everything about this hotel was amazing the music the staff were very very nice
Excellent hotel! Very comfortable, especially the bed. Fantastic customer service. Super clean and accommodating.
We had the opportunity to extend a work trip to spend a couple days in Dublin. The Mercantile is centrally located in Dublin with easy access to Temple Bar, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, and many shops and restaurants. The holiday decorations throughout the City made it even more attractive! The rooms were clean and staff very welcoming at a very affordable price. We also enjoyed a great traditional Irish Breakfast buffet with friendly and responsive servers.
The location was central to everything which was great as it was our forts time in dublin the staff and the food and the hotel was amazing we loved it donna and john mclachlan
Fantastic location with everything in walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff. Can’t fault the service. Would stay again.
Stayed for a weekend in December. Amazing hotel all in all. Great location and lovely staff were very helpful we would definitely stay again
My husband and I had a wonderful week at the Merchantile. We stayed in an executive king room which was extremely comfortable. The hotels location was located so that we could walk to everything we wanted to see in Dublin. The Dart station is very close to the hotel as well. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the food was amazing!
Beautiful place with authentic atmosphere and delicious food, nice and helpfull staff, had great breakfast despite my food allergy.
Excellent service and great food will definitely be returning Staff was attentive will be looking to stay in the hotel in the near future Pedro was great
Great location. Affordable pricing. Lovely clean and tidy room/bathroom. Plenty of breakfast options. Easy check in and out. I would stay again.
Me and my partner have just got back from a 2 night stay here. We arrived at the hotel early, at 9am and they kindly let us store our luggage there until check in. The reception staff were attentive and professional, overall very helpful. We were offered early check in, however we wanted to make the most of our day, so headed straight out. The whole hotel has been renovated and as soon as you step in, you can see how much work has gone into it. Its decor is stunning, inside and out. We arrived back at around 3pm, to wait for check in and have a drink at the bar. After taking a seat at the bar, we were just about to order and the bar manager came over to us… we were informed there was a dress code policy and we weren’t allowed inside with a tracksuit on. (We weren’t wearing sport tracksuits, just cosy plain ones.) We said we were waiting to check in and the manager said it’s fine but just for future reference. This unfortunately made us feel uncomfortable so we were about to leave and we were then asked our name to see if our room was ready. This then made us feel like they thought we were lying about having a reservation there. Fortunately our room was ready early, which was a silver lining out of an awkward situation. I totally understand a dress code at night, however it was early afternoon and if dress code are strict, it needs to be made clearer to guests when they’re booking a stay. I also think staff need to be more mindful when assuming that just because someone dresses comfortably, they don’t have enough money to stay there. It’s December, cold and a city break with lots of walking. Many tourists dress down. I’m not sure if it was meant in the way we took it but it left quite a bad taste for us so early on in our stay. The rooms are lovely, clean and have lots of storage. The decor flows all the way through the hotel and the cleaners also work very hard to keep the place tidy. They tidied our room, even though we were there for a short stay. The hotel is also in a prime location… everything is on your doorstep. They let you store your luggage, even after check out. They also were kind enough to give us complimentary checkout until 12pm. However after that it’s €25 per hour, which is quite steep. Overall the hotel is really good value for money. A real luxurious stay and we would definitely recommend it. Maybe it’s just a good idea to make it clearer to guests about the dress code or atleast do an earlier check in time as 4pm is quite late. Thank you for having us!
Really nice and helpful table service.Amazing experience. Definitely will recommend to my friends and family visiting Dublin
This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The breakfast is delicious and service top notch. It has a great bar with excellent cocktails although can get busy. Lots to do on your doorstep so can’t fault it.
Great location, close to Temple Bar and Grafton street. Very clean. Friendly staff. Nice lounge area with fireplace. Loved the decor.
The bedroom was too small for two people. The double bed was lodged against the window and the wall in front and behind. You had to crawl across the bed to get in or out. The table we booked for 10 people was suitable for max 8. The food was at best average with several of the people at the table very disappointed.
Great hotel which is nice and central. Staff very friendly and rooms are furnished to a high standard. Food in restaurant was lovely.
Great hotel. Central to lots of sights and if you want places to eat of all different cuisines then it fits the bill. Room was clean, comfortable and I’ve seen reviews mentioning about room sizes in Dublin. Sure, they are compact, but comfortable and ideal if you just want a crash pad. Staff in hotel were very friendly and professional.
Great location, very friendly staff, spacious, clean, comfortable rooms, great selection for breakfast, cooked food delicious.
The mercantile hotel is in a lovely area good for shopping and sightseeing the room was absolutely beautiful and very clean, staff were also very friendly and lovely food would really recommend this hotel
Avoid if you want sleep Impossible to sleep if you are located at the front of the hotel, literally no sound proofing so all of the party revellers outside might as well be in your room The hotel needs to sort this as you are paying a premium rate Deluxe double is small but nicely decorated and comfortable but small Bar and Restauant was good, nice cocktails but some staff particularly a female supervisor was very surly and could do with a bit of warmth Overall has potential but needs work on noise and customer care
Staff was super cheerful and helpful. They were able to assist me in whatever I needed with room change and where to go about in the city
Very nice hotel , great staff and very helpful, perfect area to stay in close to lots of amenities , perfect for what we needed
Fantastic location, friendly staff and quirky little place. Apart from the supplies amenities (the shampoo and conditioner) which are the worst smelling things I’ve ever experienced.. please change them … it was a great stay
I really wanted to give the Mercantile five stars, but I could not due to the fact that I asked for an inside quiet room and was given a room overlooking the street! The room was very noisy into the wee hours of the morning!
Excellent location. Close to bus stops, city rail and train stations. All walking distance. Clean room with modern finishes. Lovely restaurant and bar area. Would recommend and I would stay there again!
A hotel with a very good location with friendly and dedicated staff preforming above my expectations. The room was small but well built.
Cute boutique hotel with a perfect location for shopping, dining and pubs. Our room was tiny but staff was very helpful and accommodating.
I loved the atmosphere in this hotel. The staff are friendly the decor is stunning and the beds are the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in.
Extremely clean, well appointed hotel in a great location. Wonderful staff. Restaurant and bar was a much better experience and value than expected. The only negative was the small size of the room. It would be acceptable for a single but too small for a couple. I've had a larger room on a cruise ship. Not even room for a chair much less a desk.
This hotel is a fantastic find in Dublin. You cannot beat the location. Near to Temple Bar for fun, but far enough away to be quiet and less wild. easy 15 minute walk to restaurants, museums, Grafton Street, the Liffy. Actually, you can walk out the hotel in any of the three entrances and find a bar, a restaurant, and a coffee shop within 100 feet - I am not exaggerating! The hotel itself is a refuge in this busy city. Even the small rooms had a excellent showers, comfortable beds and a very appreciated Nespresso machine. There is a dining room and a very very lively bar, both open late. We had the hot breakfast included in our stay and it was so worth it. I am already planning on staying here on my next trip.
location was perfect as we were attending a concert in the Olympia theatre , staff so friendly and helpful especially Gina at reception, I will definitely be back and recommend to all
Great hotel, location, and price! I really enjoyed the aesthetic and my room was perfect size for one. My window looked out at the street behind the hotel and the street noise from the bar was quite loud in the room until late. I was only here for one night and it was fine.
I asked for a quiet room and was given a super small room which did not match description of room I booked. When room was switched we were given an extremely noisy room overlooking Dame Street which was noisy into the wee hours of the morning. Tried to get it switched, but were told they didn’t have anything else. Lack of sleep truly affected our first time visit to Dublin.
The Mercantile Hotel 5/5 Excellent A delight of a hotel. Lovely staff, who are friendly and attentive, which creates a great atmosphere. Beautifully renovated hotel with quirky features that make you smile. Lovely room - snug but with everything you need. David, the manager, does an exceptional job of welcoming guests and is very visible. Taking dinner at the hotel is a must - the dishes created by Cian, the head chef, are outstanding. The haddock fish and chips were the best I’ve ever tasted (and I’m English!) and I would also highly recommend the Beef and Guinness Pithivier (French pie) with it’s light but delicious pastry, melt in the mouth beef and rich and deep bone broth. Even the simple side dish of carrots was delicious. Saiful, our server, was attentive, despite how busy the restaurant was (and probably always is), very cheerful and helpfully recommended dishes to us. We will definitely return to this hotel - the location is also excellent - but it’s all about the feel of the hotel that David, Cian and all the staff enhance with their attitude and genuine enthusiasm for the hotel and for giving customers the best experience they can in all aspects of their stay. I cannot recommend the hotel more highly.
Hotel was slick and easy check in,staff were Brilliant and friendly, Room was fantastic and spotless and warm, breakfast was 10/10,scones were delicious ❤️, rebooked for December on our way home
My girlfriend and I absolutely loved this hotel and location. Right in the middle of the hustle and Bustle. Everything is very accessible, and there are plenty of music venues, bars and shops around. The restaurant and cocktails at the hotel were fantastic as well. Everything inside has been completely remodeled which was nice. The front desk lady Francisca was helpful and nice. The Front office and Guest Relations Manager Cody was a rockstar, he made a cocktail for us before the bar was technically opened and ordered a taxi to the hotel in a moments notice for us to get to the airport. Highly recommend this place.
The hotel is beautifully restored throughout - lovely central position to everything on your doorstep - including The Liffey and Temple bar Staff went above and beyond each and every day throughout our 5 day stay - nothing was too much trouble - all done with plesantaries and a friendly smile The food is amazing - especially breakfast with plenty of options catering to everyones needs and dietery requirements. A warm welcome awaits you Would love to return Tha Mrs C
The location is pretty much perfect, located within a 5 minute walk of lots of Dublin, and especially the Temple Bar area. The atmosphere of the hotel is really nice, super clean, super new and love all the video walls with the two main fictional characters on them, up to high junks. The room was clean, air on was a nice touch, and the shower area wonderful. the staff were all very helpful and Eabha on the front desk was supportive, helpful and fantastic on all local topics and places to go!
We had an excellent stay at The Mercantile. We arrived on our flight from the US at 8:30am but our check in wasn’t until 4pm. The front desk was kind and kept our bags downstairs for us and offered us a large bathroom to change and freshen up in after our flight. The room was very nice and was cleaned each day. When we departed to the airport, the guy at the front desk made sure we had multiple waters to take with us. Very friendly staff and a beautiful hotel. The location also could not be better.
First time having lunch in The Mercantile Hotel and it was fab. We were a table of 9 and we all loved the food. We ordered a mix of all dishes on the menu including the steak sandwich, pie of the day and the burger. Staff were amazing too. We will definitely be back!
Very late check in. 4pm and when we arrived at 3:50 the room wasn’t ready which is fine so we waited. It wasn’t ready until around 4:15 which is a bit mad. Especially for those of us who just want a one night stay. We felt you didn’t get your values worth because of how very little time you actually have in the room because check out is at 11am. Room was nice, staff were lovely but I unfortunately don’t see myself coming back due to the price and lack of room access.
We had a great stay, the staff were amazing and quickly solved any problem. The location cannot be beat an is an easy walking distance to all the major sights in Dublin. Would definitely stay here again
