Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, continental and cooked breakfast made to order.

Rooms on the tighter side but served our purposes for one night.

Very central and loads of parking. Lovely decor and comfortable big bed.Staff were welcoming at reception, easy check in. Breakfast offering was very good and lovely and tasty. We would definitely recommend visit again.

We felt someone should have been welcoming guests at breakfast as we seemed to stand for ages waiting to be checked into breakfast and shown to a table. There seemed to be staff around but no one came to assist. Also drinks were very slow in bar. Waited around 15- 20 mins for 2 cocktails .

This is a gem of a place. I love coming here. The staff are always very friendly and attentive. Nothings too much bother. Plus the downstairs has all just been beautifully decorated! The new bar area is exquisite!!

After traveling in Scotland and Ireland for 20 days, it was great having a large room to stretch out and relax in. It was great having a king size bed and having a tub to take a relaxing bath in. Breakfast and dinner were both lovely and we really. We really enjoyed our stay at the Carlton Hotel.

Beautiful hotel. Comfy beds in lovely rooms. Hotel recently renovated. Staff so lovely and helpfull. We're not goi g to eat there but so happy we did. Food was amazing. Fab menu and it was delicious. Had fajitas. Best ever but spicy. Grilled chicken was perfect. Large gluten free selection which is rare. Will be back.

A great modern hotel with friendly staff and really nice food. We had dinner and breakfast here whilst on a trip playing golf and ate really well. The staff were very helpful.

We went to the bar area for tea and wine, the staff were lovely and the drinks were really nice, it has a really lovely pleasant area to sit in . In the morning the breakfast was delicious I did not want a full breakfast so asked for some hot breakfast items which were prepared really nicely, there was also a good range of options like jams etc and it was really nice to get a pot of coffee. I loved the fact that we are given toiletries of our own and not ones that are stuck to the walls for others to use - having our own mini ones feels more hygenic which was great - the quality was good. I really liked the different areas one could sit and have coffee at the bar and two rooms off the bar as well as lovely seated area outside. The room had good coffee and tea supplies including two packet of yummy biscuits. The bathroom was very clean, and the bed sheets were very clean too. The room had everything my mum and I needed.

The attitude of staff

Over all decoration of all areas of the hotel including bedrooms. Stylish. Hotel staff were welcoming and friendly. Location and parking were a bonus for us. We had a lovely meal and restaurant area had a nice vibe. There also seemed to be lovely seating suit suit many needs. Breakfast was cooked to order and there was a good choice.

The room ventilation was limited with only one window that would open. We did have a problem with room twice with key card when it would not open the door. This was rectified by staff including one who walked up to the room to make sure we got in.

It was super clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. The meals were excellent and good value.

The only thing we didn’t like was the shower which was in the bath. The bath was quite tall and it did not have a flat base. At 78 and 80 we found it quite precarious.

At time of stay main restaurant was not open for meals. Small room instead staff were there and elsewhere so stood to be seated for a long time then couldn’t order food as nobody around again a wait. Nowhere to watch the football that night as no bar and none of this was advised before booking. We just went out instead but not what we had planned to do.

Very helpful staff, good location for Ayr and Prestwick. Good size of car park and mostly flat though no lift available. Decent breakfast.

Arrived in heatwave and hotel was undergoing refurbishment - made it cost less but the room was very warm and only the bar had any working air conditioning.

Friendly staff that went the extra mile to help you, when we arrived they gave us a room up stairs but the receptionist noticed that my wife had difficulty walking and looked for a ground floor room for us. Bar staff and restaurant staff could not do enough for us.

It’s just a little bit out of town, not within walking distance for elderly folks. But the bus stop is close enough to get you into town and the taxi fares were reasonable.

The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The first phase of the refurbishment of the new bar area looks great and we enjoyed spending some time there.

We received a call at 11am to our room after prebooking a later checkout for 12pm plus someone came into our room around about that time aswell. This was a mistake but wasn’t really a big deal and reception apologised when we checked out.

Lovely hotel, room was spacious. Had a family room and didnt expect there to be a seperate room for one of the beds, best hotel ive stayed in for a family room. Food was wonderful dinner and breakfast!

We went to dinner and the waiter went into great explanations and recommendations about the Sunday roast, which we ordered, then they came back and advised they had run out, so we had to order something else which was disappointing.

I've stayed at this hotel before and was delighted to be greeted with welcome back on arrival. The rooms are very comfortable. Great.breakfast, I enjoyed dinner in the restaurant both nights. The staff are very friendly and hospitable and are a real asset. Some renovation is ongoing, but this didn't impact my stay.at.all. Based on the work completed.to.date the improvements are impressive. Once completed, i think a 10 score will be in order after my next visit.

Room was quiet , didn’t like the guests banging the doors of their bedroom doors late at night and very early in the morning. I think it would be a huge advantage if a fitted hand grab rail was fitted to the bathroom wall beside the toilet as the toilet is low for people who are elderly.

Your restaurant menu, to many meals with added spices. A salad would be an advantage.

New hotel in a good location for our trip

On one of the hottest days of the year we expected a new hotel to have air conditioning ... mt fault for not checking first.

Booked for husbands birthday, but due to renovation work, there is no seated bar area and restaurant consists of just a fairly small room. Daughter and son in law came down to join us for birthday drinks and we had to sit in beer garden as nowhere indoors to sit. But my daughter was too cold, so asked for a table indoors to be advised the bar area is only for ordering drinks..and the other room is for meals, so we ended up taking my daughter and son in law up to our room until they finished theyre drinks They were so disappointed and went home after that. Ruined my husbands birthday, Breakfast wasn't the best either...unless you like deep fried potato scones and rock solid air fried black pudding. Been for many afternoon teat at Carlton before and meals and food was amazing, but not this time, and I definitely doubt I will stay here again. They should at least advise potential customers that they is work being done and there are very limited actual facilities available, to allow to make alternative choices...I certainly would have had I known .

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and went the extra mile to assist people. The whole experience from check-in to check-out was exactly what we needed after cycling 200 miles!
