Great location and good staff. Would definetly stay again.

The room was huge, beds were comfy, breakfast was delicious.

The property was really well located with parking for an event we needed to attend. The staff were lovely.

I don’t usually like doing this. But this hotel was very expensive for what it delivered. You put up with a bit of grime etc for £60 a night but for £150 a night I expected a lot better! The room carpet was filthy, bathrooms not very well kept or clean etc. It was incredibly noisy inside and out! Felt rather rough after dark given that we had a baby with us.

Reception staff unaccomodating, one was rude to my daughter in law. Making her wait to check in while she dealt with restaurant customers. Even though my daughter in law was first in queue. I booked 2 rooms, I checked in one room and asked for an accessible room. Told there were none. My daughter in law checked into the second room 3 hours later, and was given an accessible room that she did not request or require. Same rude receptionist stated that it is out of the hotels hands what room number we are given. She stated that Booking.com allocates!! We were in room 7, the smell was awful. Stale cigarettes and stagnant water. It never went away the whole weekend. This room is where people stand below smoking. The smell is pungent. The room is also small and definitely was not worth the price paid. The room was at least really clean. Shame that the smell will always be there.

The room was in pretty poor condition! Floors uneven, toilet and bathroom had mould and broken bits. Windows wouldn’t shut correctly.

Property is easy to find and has free parking. Room was very big and clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff were incredibly helpful and the breakfast included was delicious.

Central location. AC in dining and bar was good. Good restaurant facilities and food. Very clean comfortable beds. Very hot as we were in the gods. But fans helped. Staff were very helpful.

Our accessible room for which we paid an extra £20 was def not accessible stairs and another flight of stairs was difficult for my wife. Also the bathroom was not accessible no easy access shower facilities.

Car park not convenient to the entrance: it was right at the back with no back door entrance available for guests therefore had to carry our luggage right round the whole area where hotel situated . We are in our 70s so not ideal. Also put on top floor and lift only went to first floor therefore had to climb stairs to last floor and no handrail on the stairs.. unsafe.

Though clean, the room was small and outdated. A coat of paint would work wonders. Even with the window closed, noise from outside building units was constant at night.

The room was so dusty it was clear that it has not been cleaned properly in a long time (Room 10). All the tea cups at breakfast were all dirty on both mornings. Was unable to park in the car park as it was full.

We had a wonderful spacious room overlooking thr Town Square. The decor on the room was a tiny but dated but nothing at all to be bothered about. Enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant, and the full Scottish breakfast was really excellent.

Being a small town hotel, the hotel has a lively bar popular with locals, (we stayed on a Friday night) so just to be aware for travellers looking for complete quiet in the earlier evening, you might be able hear some of the festivities until the bar closes, after which things were very quiet. Not a problem for us, but it's worth being aware of it.

Breakfast was lovely, had a meal in the restaurant the night we arrived also which was really nice, staff was more than accommodating for my disabled mother when i asked for a more accessible room on arrival… overall we had an enjoyable, clean and comfortable stay & would definitely recommend.

The breakfasts were great. Choices were good and everything was served hot, which is always a plus.

The twin room was on the second floor and the lift did not go beyond first floor. The room was in the eaves and really needed some tlc. Bathroom was roomy and worked well if you are able to get into the bath for the shower.

The whole town had a funny smell, not sure what it was? I stayed here on my way to somewhere, walked to stores. Easy to get around. The hotel itself was great.

The heater in my (and in my friends' room) bathroom could not be turned off, which led to it being extremely hot in the room - having the windows open didn't help enough so I grabbed the fan they had available.

Good location. 2 rooms were ready early.

Our stay was unfortunately disappointing due to several issues with both service and housekeeping. When we returned to the hotel after attending a wedding, our key cards were not working. We went to get them fixed, but the staff member behind the bar was quite rude and chose to continue serving others rather than assist us, which was frustrating after a long day. The experience didn’t improve the next morning at breakfast. Despite the room being empty, when we sat down we were met with a sarcastic comment from a staff member, which felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. On a more positive note, we had booked three rooms and two of them were ready before we arrived, which we appreciated. However, the third room had clearly not been properly cleaned, as there were still towels left on the floor from the previous guest. Overall, while there were a couple of positives, the poor customer service and lack of attention to detail significantly impacted our stay.

Staff were friendly, room and bathroom were clean and had all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was also good with the options of cereal or bread from a buffet as well as cooked breakfast to order.

The breakfast menu suggested fruit would be available like a buffet but there wasn't any. Paid £227 for 2 nights while our friend paid £98 for one night and their room was much, much bigger. Key cards also stopped working occasionally.

From when we arrived our room was freezing cold despite the radiators being turned up full, we were rushing to get ready for a wedding reception at the Lochside therefore had no time to mention it to staff, the next morning we notified staff after our breakfast but it was too late by then as we had to check out by 11, it spoiled what would have been a lovely stay

It’s old fashioned charm with modern convenience. The restaurant staff were fantastic.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Chelsea looked after us from checking in to having dinner and helping us to get a taxi as well. Breakfast was tasty, too.
