Clean traditional Japanese accommodation. Great host and nice mini garden.
Road out front gets noisey early in the morning.
Ystävällisyys. Oma rauha. Upeasti ylläpidetty historiallinen rakennus.
Everything!! We had the best stay, everything was so beautiful and ai recommend it to everyone that wants to experience the full Japanese experience. The lady owner is the sweetest person ever and made us feel very welcome in Japan and told us what to visit, where to eat and many other things.
Nothing

🏠 Authentic atmosphere: Staying in a traditional Japanese house was a unique cultural experience. 🎨 Beautiful interior design: Every detail of the decoration reflected traditional Japanese aesthetics. 🧼 Very clean: The house was spotless and well-maintained. 🚉 Convenient location: Just a short walk from the train station, making travel easy. 🥐 Nearby bakery: A great local bakery was close by, perfect for breakfast or snacks. 👩🦳 Exceptional host: Warm, responsive, and always ready to help with anything we needed.
🍜 Limited local dining options: The immediate area had few restaurant choices,
Highly recommend booking this for your Kyoto stay. The location is ideal, not too full of tourists and close to the station so very convenient! This is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a traditional experience and it is an absolutely beautiful property. The host and staff were extremely friendly and really helpful. I could not recommend this place enough :))
We liked the be traditional Japanese style accommodation, the very friendly and helpful host and her very thoughtful touches around the house to make the experience special.
+ the living room had a heated carpet - perfect for our colder weather + the lady-owner was very helpful with choosing places to eat! + the blanket cover (or whatever it is called - the thing you cover yourself with at night) was so light and soft that it felt like i am sleeping between the clouds ^^
personally for me the house had a little bit of "stuck in time" or grandma vibe, it was a little bit too much, like it needed some... mm fresh air. both literally and figuratively
Very nice house and landlord.
Amazing experience to stay in a beautiful traditional house. Staff extremely helpful and attentive. Bath fantastic.
Some low doorways etc to be aware of if you are tall! To be expected in a traditional house.
A beautiful authentic ryukan in a quiet part of town.
It suited our tastes perfectly but this is not a modern hotel
Such a beautiful traditional Japanese house. It is quaint and was perfect for our stay. I wanted a place to experience a traditional Japanese house and we got it! The bathroom and bathtub is excellent. Good to soak after a long day of sight seeing. Love the Zen garden and all the homely touches.
Everything is good !!
Our family enjoyed the beautiful historic features, we enjoyed the hot tub looking out into the garden. The property was centrally located to many shops and restaurants.
Unfortunately there were lots of mosquitos, out and our family was bitten many times.
Good location. They contacted a taxi for us. Our hostess Miyamoto San was wonderful!@
Loved everything. Wanted to stay in a 100 yr old tradional home.
Loved staying here for the cultural experience. It is very authentic - it makes you feel as if you have travelled back in time! There is a beautiful little garden and the o-furo is very relaxing. The futons were top quality super comfy too! The land-lady is very lovely and a wonderful host. She made sure we had everything we needed and even helped us with dressing in our kimono which we hired for the day. 100% recommend! A few things to be aware of: the home is a little out of the way as it is in a quiet neighbourhood. There is however a train station and bus stop in walking distance. You can also use the bicycles in the residence. Secondly, sound travels easily as the walls are thin, and you need to keep quiet for the neighbouring homes. Staying here was definitely a highlight of my trip - must do experience if you want to immerse yourself in Japanese culture
Staying in this traditional Japanese house was an extremely memorable part of our holiday experience. The traditional nature of this house was relaxing and beautiful.
