Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Thunder Bay

LOCATION. It was close to my event and easy to find. The hotel was clean and the staff members were attentive. The breakfast was as expected.

I tried to book another stay and a team member could not match the price I received through a third party agent. You would think Days Inn could match or better any outside booking agents.

Geboekt voor gezin 6 personen, maar hier zijn ze niet klaar op. Met moeite zijn er 2 opklapbedden geregeld. We kregen te horen dat dit niet gebruikelijk is. Dat snap ik, de kamer was ook niet op 6 personen ingericht. Maar biedt deze mogelijkheid dan niet aan. Wanneer ik boek voor een familiekamer 6 personen, dan verwacht ik 6 bedden, dan kun je niet aankomen dat er maar 1 klapbed beschikbaar is. Je weet dat we met 6 personen komen via het boekingssysteem. Er waren kussens voor 4 personen, we moesten maar dekens oprollen voor de 2 andere personen als kussen. We kregen te horen dat ze ons al tegemoet waren gekomen met een extra opklapbed. We hebben het zomaar gelaten, maar in de kern klopt hier niets van… Erg jammer.

Breakfast was well laid out,and had a good variety of food available.Tables and floors were clean and food area was well stocked by the staff on hand.

My only complaint was the fact that our room had a very noisy air conditioner which was very annoying when trying to sleep.

Once again loved the large parking lot and the proximity to restaurants

This time we were in a room on the second floor. The people directly above us walked all evening in the room and it was easily heard. Also rooms across from us partied in the hallway. It was very difficult sleeping. The air condition unit was loud and you could also hear the fridge.

Joku paikallinen huumeidenkäyttäjä/asunnoton tuli vain suoraan aamupalahuoneeseen otti ruokaa ja kahvia ja poistui paikalta. Henkilökunta kävi vain pitkän kaavan mukaan keskustelemassa ja antoi tyypin ottaa ruoat. Epämiellyttävä oli itse sen jälkeen ottaa ruokaa.

Not much

We booked for 6 people and they gave us a room with one bed and a pull out couch! Unbelievable, they didn’t have enough pillows or blankets we asked for more and they said they don’t have anymore extra in the hotel. Asked for a cot and was told they only have two in the whole place so we had to use our own air mattresses.

Price was not the same when I booked through booking.com it costed me more

Decent rooms that are clean.

Pay extra for decent WiFi after paying $240 per night. Absolutely ridiculous. Not even a microwave. Super bright LED screen on the climate control that cannot be dimmed - this wasn't a problem, I covered it with a face cloth, but annoying until I thought of that solution.

There were a bunch of kids in the pool/hot tub with floaties, beach ball and water guns. Not accessible for other paying guests.

No individual packets of butter or margarine, everyone had to use the same container. There was no bread , bagels out at 9 am .

On line it shows a price and when I was booked for my stay it came through at a higher price, hot tub is advertised in the ad but it has been down for a long time we were told , It is not healthy to continue to dump chemical into a heated tub and allow people to sit in it , The public health department could be advised.

It was clean and there was no one loitering around the building it seemed safe

Well I have trouble walking and yes the handicap parking was close to the main entrance except there is only 2 spaces so I had to park a fair distance away the next morning the vehicle that had parked beside me was parked very close on the driver’s side so when I tried to get in I hurt my knee I just feel there should be at least 4/5 handicap spaces with the size of hotel . I love the located its central to all businesses and a walking distance to the Montana and Tim Horton's.

Scrambled eggs were not thoroughly hot. I know the receptionist was busy with check-outs. I think their should be an assistant or at least someone to assist with the complimentary breakfast part.

I believed Iwas booking the Days Inn 12590 GOLF LINKS RD next to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in Thunder Bay Ontario for my scedulled nexrt day MRI.as I had selected . I trusted my instructions were correct . I specifically chose the Days In off Golf Links Road so I could walk to the hospital as I had done previously When I contested the wrong location at another Days Inn 645 SIBLEY DR...8 Klms from the Hospital I was told because I had prebooked through Booking.com I could not transfer as This was not a viable option with Booking.com.

The fact that I triedso hard to be prepared for that hospital visit. I live in Kenora ontario with a small hospital with no MRI. I needed one in ontario so I drove 489K one way to get a different site that could nort be corrected bertween 2 different Days inns. in Thunder BY ThE fault was mine for trusting a new online booking site. What should I tell all my friends?

When I booked the room on line,I thought I was booking directly with the hotel. I was not, and was on a booking rooms site of some kind. As a result I believe I did not get the best price nor accurate information. Since the display lead me to think that I was on the hotel site and was not is misleading advertising. I feel was cheated. Other than that the place was rather dirty especially the floors, the WI-FI was spotty and the door cards had to be reprogrammed regularly.

Convenient location for our travels.

While driving from south eastern Ontario to Edmonton Alberta, we stayed at a few hotels. Your hotel was twice the price of any other we stayed at with zero value added. All hotels were somewhat equal in quality.

Close to medical center and good restaurants.

Thermostat was a bit odd, set to heat and it would blow cold air randomly and then back to heat. Price was alittle high.

You pay a lot of money for what you get. Old decor, stained carpet, poor service. The hotel couldn’t even give us the room we booked. We booked a suite with a king sized bed and a pullout for our family of 5 to stay in… it was a double bed with a pullout. Very disappointing to arrive to this after driving 5 hours in a snowstorm.

We checked out a day early, late in the afternoon, we did so to get ahead of the snowstorm. I did not ask for a refund, the desk clerk gave me a full day refund which I thanked him for. It was not expected and was a fantastic gesture. We will stay there again.

Staff was very very friendly and it was very clean.

Hot tub suite was not worth the money. Everything in the room was outdated, carpets are stained. You can hear everything going on in other rooms.

Check in was very professional. Maintenance wasn't was a little shabby. The one door didn't work, top jets in the hot tub didn't work. Our room was clean, but discovered 3 used tissues in the night stand drawer. These remained the 5 days we were there. The light shade was cracked, and the place is in need of a touch up. Breakfast was okay, eggs rubbery and cold, sausages were cold.

Room, bathroom and hot tub were very clean. Parking was great with many spaces available. Area was nice and quiet with restaurants very close.

Carpets are very faded, worn out and stained in room and elevator. No computer for guests. Staff were quite nice. Breakfast is good.and lots of parking.

I liked my stay here. It was quiet, comfortable and I had a good sleep.

Shopping area was excellent,and I felt very safe in and around the facility.I would recommend this motel to everyone.Close to popular eating areas.Thomas and all of the staff were extremely pleasant and very attentive to our every need.

Loved having a jacuzzi suite

The floor was soaking wet as they were shampooing the rug when we arrived. The lights went out in the bathroom and couldn’t be changed. They gave us a big lamp a couple hours later. The bathroom vanity was dirty. Old food on the floor. And garbage on the floor under the register. Fireplace didn’t work. Not worth the amount we paid for the night.

Close to services. First room noisy heater fan. Changed rooms. Second room had to price the drain plug up to get the tub to drain. Place needs some up grading .

Booked the property for the hot tub and of course like the rest of our trip every hotel that said they have a hot tub it was not working Fix it. One of the other problems with suite 201 when the A/C kicks in it is like a jet taking off as well the door to go downstairs is right beside the bed headboard so when someone goes through the door it is heavy and it slams the only other thing is this room is right beside the swilling pool and until ten it is very loud. I don’t think I would be charging so much or selling this as a suite as it is so loud and uncomfortable

We booked the hotel for the hot tub and pool unfortunately the hot tub was cold and broken, no signs or anything posted, only 2 jets worked at the ankles area, the pool was ok I guess warmer then the hot tub but either way I needed to shower. When I asked the staff they had already known of the issue and didn’t know when it was going to be fixed. The room was clean though

Stained carpeting throughout the building... the elevator, hallways, and our room. Did not feel comfortable walking around our room barefoot. Despite my sheets smelling very clean, there were several stains on them that grossed me out and forced me to sleep fully clothed... which is not my normal. Beds were hard and pillows were thick and dense, which is not our preference. Neither of us got any good sleep the 2 nights we were there, due to being uncomfortable for various reasons.

Po příjezdu nám byl přidělen jiný pokoj, než jsme měli objednán (family room místo family suite). V dlouhém objektu je jen jeden výtah na kraji, kufry taháte přes celou dílku hotelu. Koberce na pokoji i na chodbách plné fleků různých velikostí a barev. Všechna okna pevně zasklená, takže se nedalo větrat přirozenou cestou, vzduch pouze cirkuloval v místnosti. Při snídani se používají papírové talíře a kelímky, završí to plastový příbor a lžíce! Absolutně nedůstojné pro hotel!

Only one big problem the breakfast is the worst. The eggs are cold and watery could not eat them even after heating them up in the microwave still watery. The milk for the cereal was room temperature warm. The sausage is poor quality. Coffee is also awful. Ended up having orange juice and a hard boiled egg and that had some age on it. If you can’t do better than this don’t offer it

Nous voyageons avec nos 4 enfants en road trip ouest-est. Nous dormons dans beaucoup d'hôtels durant notre séjour : - la chambre grande pour 6 personnes, - la proximité de l'autoroute.

L'hôtel est vieillissant et la moquette de la chambre était tachée. Il y avait un lit double et 2 canapés lits. Pour le prix, nous avons trouvé cela cher et peu confortable. D'habitude c'est souvent 2 lits doubles et un canapé lit.

The hotel room lobby halls and elevator carpets had stairs. The building smelled unpleasant. The free breakfast was disgusting and hardly editable. The eggs were a strange texture and still frozen. The pool was okay but the hot tub jets were not working. The hotel room was not cleaned properly. Crumbs on the ground still.

Hotel hallways and elevator carpet were very dirty and stained. The pool area along with pool and hot tub were very dirty and stained .

What we liked....the staff were very pleasant to deal with. The tea and coffee were hot and available 24/7. The bathroom was clean. The location was very central with easy access in all directions. What we didn't like... The white comforter had mascara lash marks and some dirty brown marks on it. The room was very humid and the carpet felt wet. There was a large greasy dirt mark on the drapes that looked like a piece of pizza had been tossed at it. The air conditioner was very loud so sleep was interrupted. Lots of noise from the room upstairs. For our first breakfast the hot items had not been delivered that day so we had to have cereal or toast. We asked for a discounted rate due to all the problems but we were not offered any kind of compensation. This was not a pleasant experience for us. Not at all what was advertised on the website.

Jacuzzi not working

The website photos DO NOT match the current state of the building and rooms! I arrived after a long day of travelling to see that the main area rug was disgusting and the elevator was somehow even worse?! Hoping this was just an unfortunate one-off, I continued to my room to find that all the hallways were covered in MASSIVE PUKE STAINS. The amount of stains was so unbelievable that I’ve attached photos so you can see what it actually looks like instead of the dishonest website photos. Arriving at my room, I noticed a bunch of stains on the floor(obviously), but also what appeared to be chip crumbs on the bedroom floor?? After switching rooms, I noticed the quality of the new room was basically the same, with the addition of stains on the bedsheets… I couldn’t believe the state of this hotel and charging $250 per night is absolute robbery. Whatever you do, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!
