To expensive, it's worth 250 not 400.

The staff were so over the top friendly, it exceeded my expectations!

There is nothing I can think of.

Too many things are out of order, in room and on property. Coffee machine in our room didn’t work, laundry machine in a laundry room was broken and the hot tub was closed on some of the days. Pool rules were not enforced. Breakfast attendant was singing in a breakfast room, which was kinda loud. For $300 a night, I expect more than a comfortable bed and this Holiday Inn Express missed the mark.

Nice, decent hotel. It’s a bit dated but very safe, clean and friendly. The lobby was clean and inviting and staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located across from the Superstore, and be sure to bring ID if you want to buy alcohol at that grocery store. I’ve stayed here at least 4 times over the past 4 years and would stay again the next time I’m in Thunder Bay.

The breakfast was okay. I would like to have seen a little more variety. There was a lady there who was super cheerful and super helpful.

For the price you pay for this hotel, would it be asking too much to supply the room with bottled water. I mean really, that is just petty of the Holiday Inn

Very easy check in and was signed up for IHG Rewards. Good program easy sign up. Breakfast was adequate. Hot good coffee eggs were good but sausages left a little to be desired. Rooms were clean but a little dated.

Following up with my original review, I chose this hotel for every two week stay I had to make to Thunder Bay for work. Two weeks in November 2025, two weeks in February. And two weeks in March. Why did I continue to book this hotel? Because everyone at this location contributed to a perfect experience. Zero problems. Zero complaints. The breakfast staff? Chefs kiss. The maintenance man who kept shoveling and salting the walkways in constant snowy conditions? Amazing how hard he works. The front desk? A pleasure to deal with. The cleaning staff? My room was spotless and clean. The manager? Very pleasant and present around the hotel making sure every thing is running properly. So as someone who has lived in this hotel for 42 days, I can certainly confidently say this holiday inn express is a really good. Note* people leaving the reviews about dirty carpets in common areas - this is due to hotel guests littering. I watched the cleaning staff every day cleaning and vacuuming hallways. And I also witnessed hotel guests dropping Kleenexes, gum wrappers, cigarette pack wrappers, bits of paper, etc on the hallway floors. Guests were leaving garbage and pizza boxes outside their doors. I don’t understand why people behave like this. Acting like piggies with no respect for common areas. I wish guests had more respect for the hard work the cleaning staff does.

I spent 2 weeks at this hotel for business. Holiday Inn Express is always my top choice for my frequent hotel stays. They have everything I need, the hotel is clean, the breakfast is great, the staff is very accommodating, and the cleaning staff does a great job. The 24 hour coffee & tea bar is a huge selling point for me. The coin operated washer and dryer is $3 each so $6 per load- very reasonable. I’d like to recognize Winona the breakfast lady- she was the best part of my stay. This woman is a bright ray of sunshine when you walk into the dining room. There is nothing better than being happily greeted each morning for breakfast by her cheerful voice and smiling face. She’s the reason I’ll choose this hotel again next time I’m in Thunder Bay.

I stayed here as it was available, not too far from the hospital, and they could provide me with late check out. We came for my elderly father's surgery. We were treated extremely well. They gave us a ground floor room (though I now would have asked for a room not next to the laundry room). We were able to get hot drinks throughout our stay, and they held on/made a breakfast as my dad's surgery was Before/during breakfast, so he had something when he returned. The Lady in the breakfast room was so wonderful; very friendly and welcoming. Beds were comfortable. I do wish that medical rates were cheaper as our travel grant won't pay completely for our stay, but the hotel was nice.

Amazing stay with our family! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the hotel spotless, and the breakfast selection fantastic. Truly a wonderful experience—we’ll definitely be back!

The rooms didn't have any weird smells aka weed , cigarettes , my daughter had a great night with the bedding (she Actually slept) yaay Staff was very nice and friendly To us . Omg The breakfast buffet Was very very good , it had everything a breakfast should have . Eggs sausages breads , cereal , hone style hash browns Ect . A lot of food. Parking lot was a little sketchy and night , but well lite parking lot at night Great hotel Close to mall an others like the movie theatre silver city

I was a part of a bus tour, we all stayed last night. Hotel and staff excellent! Most particularly the breakfast lady wonderful, friendly and breakfast great! Hot eggs , bacon. And a pancake machine!

4 young people drank and partied in the lobby from 9 pm till 2am. There was no front desk clerk anywhere to let people who were staying at the hotel go to the hotel from outside. I want a refund.

Perfect stopping place to refresh on our long trek across the country. Easy to find and lots of great eating spots close by. Staff were awesome - even packed us to go breakfast bags! Highly recommend.

I don’t recommend this property if you are traveling with a pet. Unfortunately there is limited space to walk a dog around. Otherwise the property was clean. Close to restaurants and other amenities.

Work puts us here and I must say, I have no complaints. Very friendly staff, easy parking, quiet place. Look forward to coming back.

The food was good, and both the room and service were excellent. The only drawback was that the hot tub didn’t work during our stay. It would have been nice to receive a message about this before our arrival. Other than that, everything was great!

I had a totally Terrible experience in this visit. The front desk receptionist Name Vaishali ( no name tag) did show me the attitude during check in, I don't appreciate. I booked room for check in time at 3.00 pm, But I arrived to the hotel at 9.30 pm the room was still not ready. She made me sit in the break fast lounge till 9.48 pm. What kind of hotel is this? and I requested her about my billing issue, She didn't even wants to be bothered. Finally she swiped my credit card twice, and charged extra. my invoice total is $263.40, but I have been charged $313.40? I did contact the hotel management by online chat, and they said it take 48 hours to solve my issue. How did they charge on me over the invoice amount? How come the room was not ready till 9.48 PM? Does the hospitality receptionist need any basic qualification? Kan

This property is clean and tidy in all areas. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There is a nice sports bar/restaurant a short walk one minute walk from the hotel. They offer a complimentary breakfast that had a variety of hot and cold options. They also welcome pets at a reasonable fee of $15.00. Will definitely stay here again.

Our room was comfortable and big. Beds were a bit older and noisy, but plenty of pillows and towels. The hotel had plenty of parking and a good breakfast - the ladies serving breakfast were amazing - very helpful and full of extra tips for our road trip. It was a good stay. The hotel is conveniently located just outside of town.

We really enjoyed our stay at the holiday inn and suites in Thunderbay. We were there from June 5th. and left on the 8th. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. From the ladies at the front desk to the dining room ladies and the gentleman who turned up the lights for us in the dining room so we could play cards. So very much appreciate each of them. We love staying at the holiday inn and suites wherever we go. These were top notch people!!!

The hotel served it purpose for a 2-night visit. It is strategically located. Great customer service and quiet.

People would smoke right by the side door and smoke would come inside.

Many doors, we parked right next to one, and the room was pretty close to it. Very friendly staff; and when a problem is encountered it's resolved.

Pool and hot tub were impossible to use without getting hurt. Running, diving, screaming, rough play by a large group of kids was taking place. Our overall stay was noisy due to kids running up and down the hallway. Hotel rules in general & pool rules were not enforced by staff or management. We weren’t asked how our stay was at the checkout in the morning. This Holiday Inn Express has some good points & would have a potential if they would address the issues mentioned.
