Good location and amenities

small but very clean, the beds was super comfy, the small kitchenette had everything we needed for the one night we were there (no oven, but a microwave). If you were going to be staying 2 nights +, then a bigger room would be better as there was only one chair for sitting on, no table.

Comfortable bed and good value for what we paid.

The shower was for wheelchair users and even with the curtain closed the water went all over the floor and to the toilet.

They had a lovely warm room ready for me at short notice. Enough parking, as they were full that night and a choice of milks! Lovely strong pressure shower.

The shower door didn't quite shut firmly, which let a bit of water leak out onto the floor and bath mat, which is a very minor issue.

Within walking distance from the bus depot.

The unit was clean and functional and good for a one night stay

I asked for a bath because I’d just rolled my ankle two nights ago before staying and they said they had a room with one but then when I arrived it was a shower. Which is fine but sore to stand on and wasn’t what I expected.

Clean and comfortable, the resident cats were cute

After staying in multiple other Bella Vista properties this one wasn’t as well equipped - no electric blankets, nothing to cook with etc and also didn’t seem as well maintained

Cooking facilities were very basic and not really suitable for cooking a decent meal Heating was basic Generally needs an update for the price No rubbish bag in the bin

Booked the Compact Studio Room. Good option for a solo traveller. Some NZ motels can be cold and drafty in winter, but this room was so cosy and warm, I had a good night's sleep in a comfy bed and didn't freeze! Super-hot water pressure in the bathroom shower too. Room has standard amenities inc. fridge/freezer, microwave, and basic utensils like cutlery and plates.

The location was great, walking distance to town. Room was lovely warm & the best was really comfy.

All I want to say is everything was as good as anywhere - but the motel is on the main road and big trucks seem to pass through at any hour so it can be a bit noisy at night. Not enough to bother anybody, but may be a problem for a light. Sleeper.

Won’t let me finish

First time arriving with GPS show short cut but to different location. After resetting, hotel is found with ease. It's on main road highway but very quiet when in room

This was a perfect place for our overnight stay in Kaikoura. It was clean, comfortable and so close to town.

The apartment was spacious, had everything we needed in it, and the bathroom was a good size and clean. Free WiFi and on-site parking. Good location

There was a very strong smell of mold/damp in the room, we couldnt see or find where it was coming from but was noticeable the second we opened the door. We didnt find the bed or the pillows comfortable at all. The road noise from outside was loud, even though the motel is close to the main road, it still seemed exceptionally loud and was pretty annoying during the night!

Host was very friendly - facilities as expected for a Bella Vista. Safe & quiet.

It was fine

Well-appointed room, clean and comfortable with good facilities. Enough kitchen facilities to cook some basic meals. Lovely clean bathroom. Room was light and airy

Only downside was being close to the main road so a lot of traffic noise overnight but not a major issue

Accomodation was immaculately presented and the staff throughout were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble The location was perfect and the view was fantastic Restaurant was also very good

We could not fault this place at all, wish we had stayed longer, this was the accomodation highlight of our month's trip to NZ

Kaikoura is a terrific coastal township and the Bella Vista Motel was a pleasant motel but not near the beachfront. It is on the busy main road but the traffic noise wasn’t too bad inside the room. It was very clean and had a very clever small kitchen set up. The heater was very handy during the night. Reception staff were very pleasant and friendly.

The Owners/staff were very pleasant. I personally loved the animals who live at the Motel 😁. Would definitely stay again. Very clean and easy walk to the township.
