The Santai by LifestyleRetreats

Everything.

Only the steps to reception are unavoidable, with a bad hip!

Beautiful tranquil villa in a busy area. An oasis.

The menu is a bit confusing for gluten free options. It’s unclear to me and to some of the staff.

The staff were very attentive and made us feel very welcome. No ask was too big and they were so friendly and kind. We had a

Nothing! It was great!

The villa was stunning, hosts were amazing

The restaurant wasn't the best in terms of wait time for food (even though it was quiet) and atmosphere (we were the only people for breakfast). Next time we would pre-order breakfast to the room

We love the private villas & great services fm the staffs.

The staff were wonderful and the choice of breakfast was excellent!

Wasn’t anything to dislike, we had a brilliant stay.

Very quiet and very clean plus the staff are very friendly

None

Very quiet and very nice to stayed

Restaurant not really much options but still ok.

Beautiful place, it was clean and well maintained. Great service, friendly staff

Air conditioning could be better

Beautiful villa and the sweetest staff

Beautiful, private villa with a very relaxing atmosphere, perfect for switching off. The pool and outdoor space were a highlight, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Great location in Canggu with easy access to cafes and beaches.

A few minor maintenance details could be improved, and the Wi-Fi was a bit inconsistent at times. Restaurant service was occasionally slow, and communication could be a little challenging as some staff had limited English. Traffic around Canggu can also get quite busy, which sometimes made getting around slower than expected.

The opportunities for relaxation and staff hospitality

Air conditioning units were weak couldn’t keep the heat off of us

Excellent Villa design for the family. The staff is very kind and responsive. We had most of our meals in the Villa including breakfast. The atmosphere is very peaceful as the Villa is far away from the main road. Overall we had an awesome experience as a family with 2 teenagers. Personal butler service is great too. The in-villa spa is also great.

Nothing.

I have stayed many time at the santai that why I like coming back for the service it’s great

Location is good for the family. Busy enough with pretty nooks but not as busy as other trendy hotspots . The villa is spacious for us with butler requests are done via WhatsApp.

Friendly and accommodating staffs, always checking in if everything was fine, and housekeeping checks in twice daily to ensure cleanliness and comfort.

We did not opt for breakfast as the portion is too large for kids, hence a kid friendly menu would be great.

Staff are very helpful and kind, breakfast is awesome and you can eat it anytime in the room itself, swimming pool is very large and there was floating mats for children and adults in the pool , toilet and shower and jacuzzi plunger are outdoor ( full privacy) which was a good experience , location is very good ( grocery store around 24/7 , some coffee shops and restaurants are very near can go by walking)

Cleaning of the bed sheet and some sofas not that much ( need more cleaning) , doors of the bedrooms need maintenance , doors of the bedrooms need door netting to protect from bugs and the doors. Swimming pool needs more cleaning and water heater ( water is too cold )

“We chose this hotel as our first stop in Bali. The villa was absolutely wonderful, and the breakfast was very delicious. The staff were extremely kind, and we truly appreciate their warm welcome and the surprise celebration for my son’s birthday — it was a lovely surprise for us.”

Bien dans l’ensemble bien située également

Petit déjeuné

It was luxurious and well presented, would definitely stay again!

That I couldn’t stay longer and enjoy it more!

Good: breakfast, room size, staff hospitality Bad; far from airport than expected, noisy along with main road

Het huis en het personeel. Super service!

Niks

Best villa in canggu And the best villa for family with full privacy Very clean

Lovely property, we had. wonderful time staying in a 2 bedroom villa. Would recommend!

Everything The pool the staff and how they welcome you how they treat you .. They care about every single thing and anytime when you need anything you can ask them any time I advise everyone who wants a private location to book this hotel

The spa it was not that good but the good thing that they do it in your villa which is great for me

the villa is beautiful and the staff are amazing

nothing!

Amazing property, was absolutely stunning and has the wow factor from the moment you enter the car park. We stayed in the three bed villa which was immaculate and just beautiful. Plenty of space, cleaned daily and all of the staff were friendly, polite, courteous and just outright impressive, they really wanted to help ensure our stay was the best it could be!!

Nothing - everything was perfect.

What a great place. First of all the staff, very nice, very professional and responsive. The villas are big, with a comfy bed and with a nice big pool to use. The breakfast has a lot of very tasteful options and can be delivered every morning to your villa. Massage at the villa was also great. There is a number of nice restaurants in the area within walking distance. The only issue was the Wifi, it was slow and need improving.

Friendly staff. Air conditioners to keep the room comfortable in humid weather. Spacious and well equipped bedrooms, toilets and open showers were a nice change of pace. Breakfast was visually stunning, healthy and varied, arrived on time and was prepared to the best of my ability with no inconvenience for late orders.

The marble tiles around the pool were very slippery and dangerous when wet. In fact, two of my family members slipped and fell, but luckily they were not seriously injured. After the fall, I laid a towel on the floor to prevent the children from having a serious accident when playing in the water. I think it would have been much safer if the flooring around the pool was made of non-slippery material. The breakfast was visually appealing and very varied, but the flavours were boring to repeat a week in a row. The fridge door in the kitchen needed to be closed tightly or it would stay slightly open, causing food in the fridge to spoil the next day.

General design, room, amenities

Food

Staff, pool, the food, great breakfast

Location - it wasn’t close to shops, a lot of insects and mosquitoes

Wonderful breakfast in the suite living room every morning, the resort staff were super friendly and helpful, the villa was spectacular, slightly well used, but overall well maintained. Our 2 bedroom villa is big, the rooms are super comfortable and well appointed. There's enough space and walls between villas so you can hardly hear your neighbours. Location is great, away from the main streets and areas of Canggu, but near enough so you can get there easily by a Grab taxi.

The only minor complaint is that the overall lighting is rather dim, especially in the shower and toilet areas. Otherwise this is a wonderfully relaxing oasis in the middle of up and coming Canggu.

Location of the Villa is very convenient and centralised. One of the most beautiful Villa in Bali. Staffs were extremely helpful and nice especially Ms Ayu. Was down with Bali Belly and the team really showed their concern and provide us with the best hospitality. Excellent.

How friendly and accommodating they all are

Nothing

I would give 11 stars if I could. Everything was perfect!!

Nothing

Helpful staff. Great facilities and a good place to relax from the fast pace of Bali

Maybe more lighting at night time in the villas although the current lighting fits in with the calm peaceful ambience.

The villa was spacious and well equipped .The staff were professional and welcoming. Also the location of the resort is in the center of Canggu.

The menu in the restaurant is limited . It has to be international.

The staff are lovely, really accommodating and will help in any way they can. It is a beautiful set up, although could do with a bit of renovation. The outdoor bath is a lovely idea but we didn’t use it because it was too old and dirty. The area is very busy and like most busy areas in Bali, pretty dirty and noisy. This hotel is particularly noisy on a Saturday night when we got no sleep at all. The overall though is if you want a decent hotel with amazing staff and this is the area you want to be in, it is great.

Aya who helped us check in & check out is super lovely. Staffs here are by far the best we’ve encountered in Bali. Super attentive and helpful. Would def come back here when visit Bali again! So worth it!!

Nothing

The facility is very good, but the location and the service is very bad. It is very noisy! We stayed in three different hotels in Bali, this one was the worst one.

Privacy, great swimming pool, beautiful modern Balinese architecture

The fake wood used to make the beds

Improve the options in breakfast, particularly for the vegetarians

The access to reception for older guests or those with concerns about mobility - lots of stone steps with steep treads and no handrails. A suggestion would be one simple handrail in the middle of the steps which could be used by people ascending or descending the steps.

Property is a little bit run down. Very dark at night time. The only positive was the location.

Unreal

Quite a bit out of the centre of Canggu and Seminyak. Grab is so cheap it’s not too much of an issue.

Everythingggg. The pool the staff

Nothing

quainte place and very nice with privacy , staff are awesome all meals are served to your villa.

a lot of insects and the rooms are a little too dim. the pool can be cleaned more frequently if possible

Excellent séjour, surclassé.Trop beau!les gens sont gentils.Voyage de Noces Inoubliable

Friendly and hospitable staff. Cooking class is a must try.

Booked 2 villas (1 3 bedroom and 1 2 bedroom) for 11 of us. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The whole property wasn't too big so everything seems very private. Straight from the welcome, breakfast servings, and housekeeping, the staff were very helpful and polite. The villas were heavenly. The pool, the spacious rooms, the layout of the living rooms. The 3 bedrooms villa had an open living room which was just nice during sunny days like what we had, but I would think that it would be disastrous during the rainy season. The 2 bedrooms villa had a closed living room which was much more ideal for me. There were few things I wasn't a fan of. For instance, there was very minimal number of sockets in the rooms. By this I mean the sockets are used for portable lights in the room, and if those lights are plugged out, the room would be quite dark at night. Also, the "open" bathroom does give a nice feel to it, but sometimes this also mean that the bathroom is prone to bugs coming in. The shower door couldn't close in my room and it was so hard to adjust the shower to get warm water. One unfortunate experience is that we saw a rat in one of the 2 bedroom villa rooms during one of the nights. We were ok because no one was particularly scared of rats, so we chased it off. But I would say this requires more attention from the management to improve maintenance of the property. Overall, had a wonderful stay, and I would come back again when going to Bali in a big group.

Welcome drinks and food at hotel lobby are fabulous. Staffs are very polite and caring.

Great place to stay. very friendly staff, good food.

Quite comfortable and relaxed

Excellent facilities in all the villas, staff friendly, nothing was a problem. A bonus having a restaurant and bar on the grounds. No issues on getting dropped, off for shopping or dinner in their own vehicles.

It is very private villa. It is very friendly thoughtful villa. It is very luxury villa. It is very gorgeous villa.

Good service but not so convenient
