The Plaza Hotel Balanga City

For a 12 year old hotel, carpets looked a bit tattered. Checked out at 2am and all outside lobby's lights were turned off. A bit awkward navigating walkways and stairs.

Nothing really, just a little uncomfortable but didn't effect my opinion of pleasant stay.

Lack of cleanness, staff not helpful. Room refresh without changing towels and no shampoo. Breakfast was a handwritten menu on a piece of paper. Walls everywhere are full of dark marks. Aircon not working in the room and in hotel in general.

All the regular rooms are facing the exhaust of the aircon. They will ask for cash deposit despite your card details, etc were already given.

Staff was nice and central location

Room was dust. Had not been throughly cleaned in awhile. Bed sheets were stained. Bath towels were old and torn in the corners. Never saw room service.

The location was fantastic, the breakfast range that came free with the room was very good. The Housekeepers were fantastic.

The shower didnt get hot it was more like room temperature. The free breakfast was ideal for people that were not vegetarian or vegan but you could request for no meat. The breakfast was also one worded eg : Bacon ( it actually came with toast and a fried egg. ) The free coffee that came with breakfast was instant but for a fee you could get more drink range.

Re shower Water runs during shower resulting puddle on the bathroom floor, This may cause guest slipping on wet floor ..

Staff was very good and the breakfast cafe was very good. The hotel was in a good location and was easy to travel around from there.

The way the room was serviced. One day you get a great room changeout, the next they don't touch the bathroom and just make the bed. They did not clean the floor over my 13 day stay.

The location was in a prime position, and everything was at the doorstep and easy to get to and from. The supermarket is just downstairs, and restaurants are in every direction at great prices. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made the stay that much more enjoyable.

I wouldn't say I liked the cool showers, but I got used to them over the week we were there. Breakfast was very hit-and-miss, but it was well prepared if you liked what was on the choice menu.

Location is excellent. The sheets are clean and the staff service is excellent.

It needs some upgrading. No switches for the lampshades, the cooling system of the air conditioner is quite bad, no hair dryer, no breakfast considering that the room rate is pretty high.

Accessible to the wedding venue

Location wise. Nice plated breakfast.

Bad lightings in the room. Parking is public so it so hard to find one. But staffs are accommodating and helpful. A bit pricey for its kind.

Hotel room was very dirty and small. There were also a lot of mosquitoes and the AC unit didn't work very well, so I was bit even before we were able to settle in. Consequently, we ended up not staying at this hotel. Probably won't be booking there again nor via Travelocity again, unfortunately. There should be more accurate and updated information regarding this venue on Travelocity.com so customers can make a better informed decision on reservation, considering this was a non-refundable reservation. Very disappointed.

Location: the only hotel in the area where we had work to do Pleasant staff who could do NOTHING about the disgraceful state of the rooms we were given.

Given room 402: shocking condition for a supposedly " Executive " room - badly torn, old wallpaper, old shelves where paint had peeled off., carpet not vacuuned daily, blood stains on bed sheets one day.. ( photos available);.Asked to change room, was told hotel fully booked up. Said I would write a terrible review, only then, after some time, , we were moved next door to 402 - slightly better, with parts of wallpaper missing. But there was no hot water from the shower, despite daily complaints. Few amenities, the one bottle of water was not refilled daily, there were no teabags.

Location cannot be beat, great view of the plaza, only if you get a front room.

Rooms need updating and housekeeping questioned every request, towel, soap, toilet paper.

Beds were clean and comfortable. It’s a nice old building wish they could have maintained it very central nice area

Central Location

Shower was soo slippery even with flip flops. My wife slipped and hit her head. Room was dirty and dark. Elevator was modified with cables exposed and taped to wall. There were no other guests it seemed haunted. TV did not work with old remote that had no letters.

I liked the Beef Tapa for my lunch. Staff were courteous but needs to be more attentive. We needed to go to the counter to ask for help or service.

Blanket and comforter smelled bad - "mabaho". Wall papers were peeling everywhere. Cabinet paint was flaked off. Glass Windows were dirty. Window sills were dusty. Bathroom smelled awful - "mapanghi". Plaza Brew closed too early - 8PM. Aircon in Rm 401 was difficult to operate. Too many remote controls for the TV - it was confusing, ang hirap to get it to TV channels - so I was not able to enjoy TV the first night. Second night, the house staff helped us fix it. Aircon at the 3rd floor lobby lounge was leaking... there was a pail to catch the leaking water. oh my!

The location is great.

The lighting is poor. No slippers. Not so clean. Dusty. The scent of the room not so good. Public parking. The concierge can't see the facade of the hotel, he needs to walk out and look most of the time. Must put CCTV for customers car parking.

I like the location. It has so many options with regard to food. ATMs are around the area as well. Groceries, Convenient stores are also around the area. Drugstore within the vicinity also. It is also near the church.

Parking is one of the problems, especially during office hours since it's beside the City Hall. With regard to our room. It wasn't cleaned well since I guess we checked in after a big event at the hotel which was understandable.

I stayed here for 5 days. I noticed they missed cleaning the room one day. 2 of 5 they didn’t leave water bottles. They are not consistent. Bathroom is outdated. Water sips out of shower door which I also complained to the front desk. Over all its an ok facility. Thanks

The hotel is located at the center of Balanga City, very accessible to places of interest in the city. It is next to the City Hall and Cathedral Parish of St. Joseph is just across. Most importantly, what really made our stay very pleasant is the attitude of all the hotel staff. From the people who’ll meet you at the ground floor, (since the reception is on the 3rd floor), the two pretty ladies at the reception, to the people at the restaurant, they were all very gracious, attentive, informative, respectful and ever-smiling. I can say they had a very good training in customer service.

Hotel Good although staff and signage need to be better in emergencies. No one around to help when earthquake hit.

Ensure you have a room that faces the plaza. My first room faced the back and the view was of some grotty stairs. Upgraded to Presidential Suite (they didn't have anything else) and that was a great room for the price.

Hotel is close to City Hall. No place to park or discharge passenger. Very crowded and few place to eat. Room needs upgrade.

Great place to stay at overall of the city. City is very small only a few places to choose but fhis place is by gar the best and right smack in the muddle of the city.

Poor housekeeping. Staf not very knowledegable but still want to stay next time because of location. Could have been better but too late for management to get better.

We liked the location of this hotel - right at the center of activities in Balanga, Bataan. We were there on a week-end and the plaza was full of activities. The mall and several restaurants were close by, as well as the cathedral.

Great experience. Breakfast is delicious with fresh fruits. Easy access to local transportation

The hotel is relatively new but is already showing some signs of aging.

Gut ist die zentrale Lage. Beim ein- und auschecken gab es eine lange Wartezeit. Lange Wartezeiten gab es auch vor dem Aufzug. Eine Treppe war nicht auffindbar. Es wurde bis ca. 0:30 im Hotelzimmern Möbel zurechtgerückt. Leider auch im Zimmer über unserem. Es war dementsprechend laut. Ungefähr 30 Minuten nach dem auschecken haben wir festgestellt festgestellt, dass wir ein Ladegerät im Zimmer vergessen haben und gingen nochmals zur Rezeption. Allerdings bekamen wir die Antwort, der Zimmerservice hat nichts mehr gefunden. Auf die Frage, ob ich selber nochmals nachsehen kann, wiederholte die Dame an der Rezeption ihre Antwort, jetzt aber unfreundlich. Ich werde das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

Wir besuchten Freunde dort, hatten deswegen die Chance 2 unterschiedliche Zimmer zu sehen. Die beste Kategorie (nicht direkt über Expedia buchbar) ist sehr empfehlenswert, groß, Zimmer zum Platz hin, ruhig, tolles Bad. Die günstigste Kategorie ist sehr viel kleiner, das Bad ist winzig und sehr unpraktisch. Insgesamt wirkt das Hotel und speziell die Zimmer renovierungsbedürftig. Frühstück ist gut, allerdings muss man das Haus verlassen und es gibt nur 6 Wahlmöglichkeiten. Dazu nur 2 unterschiedliche Getränke. Umgebung ist klasse, das Hotel liegt direkt neben einem Robinsons Einkaufszentrum. Parkplätze gab es immer genug direkt am Hotel.

Restaurants is just downstairs like jollibee greenwhich but the thing is they dont vacuum the floor and when you shower the water leaks in the whole bathroon floor, which makes it slippery. Free breakfst is good.

Overall stay was great. We highly recommend The Plaza Hotel!

Website shows that the rooms had a city view access but not given during check in which i paid in the booking. Try to check first for the room availability before booking otherwise you spend and disappointed.

This is probably the best hotel in town. You will be living in a secured fortress and there is an in-room safe for your money and passport. cctv cameras everywhere just outside the hotel. Cops hangout at a spotting post on the other side of the plaza. The inside of the hotel has a modern/classy look. The beds have thick comforters and the a/c blows cold air, you will surely have a good night sleep. Checkout the 6th floor, beautiful view. The staff's hospitality and customer service is unmatched. female receptionist named dexter will hook you up, she has an answer for every question you have. Jecca the waitress knows the menu like the back of her hand, she will make sure you have a good dining experience. If you want to impress a girl, take her to this hotel. You won't regret it.

We stayed at the hotel 5 days. My rating would have been 5 if there was a pool and spa and then, we have to renew our key card everyday. Other than that we had a nice stay.

The room wasn't properly cleaned. There was hair everywhere in the bathroom. There was gum on the carpet and a used band aid near the trash can in the room which means that it wasn't vacuumed. There was no room service after hours. Breakfast was good. Also, when you first arrive, there is no valet service and there wasn't anybody to tell you where to park. It wasn't very welcoming.

Enjoyed stayed right in the heart of Balanga. Food menu catered to Asian travelers and local cuisine. Very nice stay, very professional staff!

Only thing is the Wifi signal is poorly unstable. Recommend installing Wireless Access Point (WAP) in every room vice centralize per floor.

Place is nicely sitauted in the Capitol of Bataan. Getting to and from different destinations is a cinch. Hotel contains basic necessities and is overall a comfortable stay. Concierge was greatly helpful and informative. We would suggest however, that they improve the Wi-fi connection. Our room also had problems with a leaking Air Conditioner and a vandalized wall.

Wonderful hotel. A GEM in the Luzon Island. The hotel staff gave me a room upgrade underneath the central clock tower with stunning views of the Plaza Mayor. Definitely felt like I was in Europe. Comfortable beds and decor, it started to age but still good. Breakfast Buffet was in their Function Room with Rooftop Garden Views of the town. Really amazing hotel overall, couldn't have asked for a better weekend stay!

Great location, middle of the town

The Plaza is a nice hotel and the staff are wonderful. The restaurant food was good and the service quick. The only negative item was my window faced a wall. Absolutely no view. If booking a room make sure you specify a room with a view of the plaza.

No smoking hotel, no smoking city! Streets at the town center were a bit crowded but pedestrian and traffic was generally disciplined. Kyoto resto in hotel was very good, generous portions and tastes great. Staff was attentive but management needs to do better in training them. Very easy to get around. Definitely buy tinapa from the market as pasalubong.
