There is an outside event venue behind de back wall of the hotel, the music was so loud we could not even talk or watch tv inside our room. I went to ask the reception desk what we could do about it, maybe change rooms. they said not to worry they should stop at 10 pm. Past midnight, the party is still at its height. Not even earplugs did work. There is nothing we could do about it. I find this misleading and unacceptable. They should at least soundproof some rooms, or warn the guest before they book.

Las puertas de los baños son traslúcidas. No fui en familia y ese detalle me pareció que le quitaba privacidad al uso del espacio. Si uniera ido en familia o sola no habría tenido problema con el detalle.

If you plan to leave early, be sure to inform the staff in advance so they can arrange the parked vehicles accordingly.

It was a very authentic and laid back stay. Travelling alone I felt safe here as there is someone at front at all times and the front door is locked. My room was always clean and quiet. I am grateful for a very peaceful time here.

La primera noche no pudimos dormir porque nos dieron el cuarto que estaba arriba de la recepción y había mucho ruido. Pedimos que nos cambiaran una habitación en la parte del fondo del hotel pero se escuchaban los ruidos de los otros cuartos que estaban cerca y de los bares.

Camera piccola e non particolarmente bella, per il prezzo alto pagato mi aspettavo molto di più. Per fortuna che con Booking ho pagato "solo" 720 mx$ mentre il prezzo richiesto alla ricezione era di 890 mx$ ! Altri due alberghi corretti sullo stesso lato della strada verso il centro offrono stanze individuali per 420 mx$. Camera singola al pianterreno fredda e oscura : avevo due coperte e dovevo accendere 3 lampade per avere un'illuminazione decente. Di fronte al letto c'è un lavandino, a destra una porta per il piccolo wc e a sinistra una porta per la doccia dove esce acqua calda; le due porte sono di ferro con una finestra. Per aprire la finestrella della doccia e fare uscire il vapore ho dovuto usare la sedia. Camera situata vicino alla ricezione, dunque rumori di voci fino alle 21:30. Malgrado la stanza fosse vicina alla ricezione il wifi funzionava molto male ! Dovevo occupare il lato sinistro del letto affinchè il tablet prendesse il segnale e molto spesso cadeva il collegamento.

Reviewed Jan 25, 2026Muy bien ubicado, cuenta con un pequeño estacionamiento, cuartos amplios y limpios. El hotel en general es muy agradable y el personal súper amable, siempre atentos. Es una excelente opción y sin duda volveríamos a hospedarnos ahí.
El único detalle que notamos es que algunos baños tienen cristal en la puerta, lo que deja cero privacidad tanto en la taza como en la regadera, tuvimos que poner una sábana para darle un poco de privacidad al espacio.

We stayed in room 129 and found it very pleasant, with everything working, quiet a/c with heating function, cold and hot water ( be patient) with consistent pressure. They have rooms with hard and with soft mattresses, so if you have a preference: better tell them.
Wifi worked erratically during our 3 night stay ( most of the time: not), the staff cannot solve the problem: professional repair required.

Reviewed Nov 9, 2025The hotel is exactly what you expect when you think of a posada. It is old and beautiful, and therefore has character. Do not expect to get a modern sleeping factory. But, if you want to feel like you're living in an Mexican hacienda then this is the place for you. Staff is super helpful. Oh, and quite unique for this part of Xalapa: it has it's own parking.
There is nothing I didn't like, apart from the mosquitoes perhaps.

El personal de recepción muy amable y accesible siempre brindando buen servicio y soluciones a las necesidades de los huéspedes. Por nosotros será SUPER RECOMENDADO
La iluminación. Podrían mejorar la iluminación de la habitación, nos tocó la suite de planta baja, al frente. Y teníamos que abrir las ventas para que entrara mejor iluminación. Las porciones del desayuno me parecieron pequeñas, sobre todo la fruta. Y no tenían jugo. Tampoco incluyen pan dulce y es súper primordial. Ahí tienen un área de oportunidad muy buena para mejorar.

They offer all the services you need: breakfast, water for refilling your bottles, laundry service, etc. There is lots of hot water and water pressure. Everyone is very polite, even other guests.
Xalapa is extremely hilly and the hotel’s street is typical of that.

Reviewed May 18, 2025It is a lovely old style property. The gardens were lovely, and it was very peaceful when we were there. The breakfast was good and the service by the lady there was friendly. It is a bit more expensive than going out, but you have the blessing of having it right there.
The receptionist was helpful when pushed to be, but not friendly. We were asked to sign to say we would pay for any damage we caused, which is fine, but when we asked they check the room before we left to ensure there was no damage and subsequently return the form to us the receptionist wouldn’t, giving various strange reasons.
